Ooh I can't wait till I can stomach the smell of coffee so I can go out for a hot choccie!!!! And I swear to god If I don't get my taste for coffee back I will be devastated, I loooove the coffee!!!
I have some new water babies (fish) to tend to tonight and although I won't be touching them as they are marine and the water is just so full of nasties (and no doubt with smell of salt i wont be able to resist nom noming on my fingers) I will enjoy ordering dp about so that will keep me occupied with no time to mope about, im hoping for a decent nights sleep tonight been up since 4.20am :( got up put bins and recycling out did a crap load of washing shrunk one of my fave big wrap around cardis in the tumble dryer, fed fur babies, snuggled said fur babies, sat and watched new water babies and browsed mums net so although I haven't done loads I feel knackered Zzz

And I'm sure your friend really doesn't mind lending you an ear after all that's what friends are for :)

Evening ladies, me and DS had our flu jabs today, DS is fine but my arm hurts and I feel sick

We had a lovely wedding on Sunday, nice catching up with family, dad was still being an arse and didn't speak to me or DH!

DH took the dog to the vet on Tuesday for his injections, apparently he is sad (the dog not vet) wonder if it is anything to do with my hormones?

username how awful, I hope it doesn't happen again

Can't remember who it was having injections of heparin, but just check you can inject in other places other than your tummy, if its clexane in pretty sure they were only licenced for the tummy area, this may have changed though.

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 01/11/2012 17:30

Steph we bought a bugaboo chameleon last week. I was going to wait until after my scan but when I saw a nearly new second hand one in perfect condition and a fraction of the new price, I snapped it up. Nearly all the prams here (not UK) are Brio ones which are massive and way too heavy. My husband is over the moon that I bought a second hand one. He thought I was going to insist on a new one, which cost a king's ransom here.

Teapig · 01/11/2012 19:17

Evening ladies, well I've taken the plunge and come out to my team at work. I told a few selected colleagues last week but now my team know I'm pretty sure everyone at work will know soon.

I feel massively pregnant today, probably a combination of yesterday's Halloween sweets and a team lunch today (duck curry - yum) and now I feel huge.

Hope you're feeling better trying, a hot chocolate and a good friend sounds like the perfect pick-me-up.

Jo1984uk · 01/11/2012 20:12

Been good to read how everyone is getting on, glad I am not the only one with the sneezing pains! Also have a horrible blue vein come up on the right side of my belly where the stretching pain is worst. Lovely!!

16 week check went well, almost made the whole thing more real than the scan hearing the babys heartbeat. I have been counting down to my 20 week scan (2 weeks today!) Cant wait to find out what I am having :-)

Am also hoping to get the bugaboo chameleon in black and orange. Will have to start saving a bit harder!

usernamegoeshere · 02/11/2012 11:28

eeeeeeeeeeeek, I just got told I am having a GTT at 28 weeks, I kind of hoped to dodge that particular bullet. Not scared of needles just scared of missing breakfast... thats probably why they making me have it in first place :P

Giddy it wasn't me with the bladder problem, unless you are sympathising over my dry skin in which case I agree. IT IS AWFUL!!!!

I took my belly button piercing out this morning, still no bump as such (just massive bloat making me look like I am carrying in fact a baby elephant) but I noticed it seemed different, like more shallow. This displeases me greatly so I removed piercing just in case something dreadful happens to it (my imagination is vivid) and shall resist the urge to poke it with a pen to stop it popping out.

Won't be around this weekend, good luck to those having scans/16 wks appointments!

aw & no word from Mama for ages, I hope doing well & will look forward to updates next week

[username] I took my belly ring out this week too, I've not been without it for 17yrs so it seems really alien now, although belly looks like I'm 25weeks so probably about time! My Mum's bellybutton stuck out when pregnant but then returned afterwards. I've threatened to paint my belly and tie some string off it like a balloon if mine goes the same way. With that and the compression tights (to avoid blood clots and varicose veins) this pregnancy malarky is doing nothing for my self image... loving my little belly though :)
[giddypants] it was me having the heparin, I've been started on Fragmin and actually got advised to inject it into my thighs, which i did for the first time last night. it didn't hurt a bit so I'm feeling much more positive about it now, just wish this niggling headache would go! My blood pressure was measured by District nurse last night so I'm not worried on that front, but it is stopping me doing any exercise and affecting my sleep so going to ask midwife at 16week scan next week just to be on safe side...

Thanks teapig feeling much better today probably because I went to bed at 9.30 and think I didn't wake until about 5.30 fantastic!

Someone outright asked me at a meeting the other day if I was pg Shock. I couldn't lie either but was a bit surprised and asked why she'd asked as she doesn't even know me well and she said I look it! Crap! Better come clean soon, only another week and a half til 20 wk scan so hoping can delay until after that!

Started the 10 stitch blanket you recommended kellestar and not going too badly although my picking up stitches needs some perfecting!

I can recommend the stitch and bitch books to you beginners as lots of really good tips and instructions on the basics and different ways of doing things so even if you've struggled being taught by someone there might be a way for you. They also have a great little hat in one of them that can be made in a couple of hours on a circular needle so only the basic stitch needed if you've not mastered pearls yet and iirc no sewing up needed! I think it only used one 50g ball of wool too so not like you've wasted a fortune if you don't get to grips with it! try the library. Debbie bliss baby book has lots of easy patterns in basic stitch too.

Anyway TGIF and hope you all have relaxing healthy weekends.

trying2bpos · 02/11/2012 16:31

Someone recommended a series of CDs for relaxation/breathing techniques can someone please remind me what they were called. Thanks

Giddypants · 02/11/2012 18:27

Sorry username I loose track and forget who has done what Blush

Giddypants · 02/11/2012 18:35

Ah trying that was me I have the 4 CDs £40 here I really need to start listening to them again now that its actually happening!

enjay0811 · 02/11/2012 21:45

trying and giddy I used a hypnobirthing cd with dd2 and think it was the best thing eva! Def helped me to feel in control during labour and more relaxed throughout. Need to have a look for it...the weeks seem to flying by now, Xmas soon then it'll almost be time to meet our little bumps Grin

growyourown77 · 03/11/2012 08:08

There's the Natal Hypnotherapy series. I used the Prepare to conceive one while TTC and found her style good and it's not american.

I just bought (on eBay) the 4 CD set of the same brand that has one for Pregnancy Relaxation, Birth preparation (you choose home birth or hospital/birth centre), a Post Natal one and a relaxing birth music one. I've only used the Pregnancy one so far, but it's good and by the same woman, Maggie Howell, as the conceive one, so I'm used to her voice. Not listened to the relaxing birth music, but might put it on later to see what it's like!!!

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 03/11/2012 09:44

When did you all first start to feel movement? Lying in bed in the quiet last night with my hand under my fat roll next to my abdomen, I was pretty sure I felt some tiny little bumps and knocks on the inside. In the cold light of day I now wonder if I imagined it.

Thanks for the CD tips grow, giddy and enjay. I'm going to add those to my shopping list along with a pregnancy pillow.

I'm off to LA today for the work trip I postponed in September. Hoping an 11 hour flight in economy won't be too bad. Going to drink loads of water and get those attractive flight socks, fun.

JessieEssex · 03/11/2012 10:32

flamin I've been feeling movement since about 14 weeks so it certainly could be that. At first it was tiny little flicks, like a muscle twitching, but now I get proper kicks - in fact DH felt his first one this morning! It's such a lovely feeling.

im almost sure I've been feeling something for about a week now... i get two different feelings- one is like a muscle twitch type popping feeling, and about once a day it feels like a wriggly worm in my lower belly for about 5 seconds!

must be it surely?!

on a more bum note my rlp was so bad last night i was awake for most of it and even had a little cry :(

Giddypants · 03/11/2012 11:24

Morning ladies, is anyone else getting cravings? I've all of a sudden needed chilli con carne! I can't explain it, I never got any cravings with DS but if I rodent have it I will cry! So we're going out for lunch! Grin
I think I felt movement quite early but now I'm thinking it wasn't really and what I'm feeling now s baby if that makes sense?

Giddypants · 03/11/2012 11:25

Rodent??? I meant don't!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 03/11/2012 11:38

Have a good trip teapig!

If I'm feeling movement I don't know it yet! But I'm not yet 16 weeks so I'm not sure Hmm

giddy my milk cravings have passed and now I want orange juice! I did absolutely have to have a maccy D's after a long shift on Thursday but I don't think that was an genuine craving!

Not sure who mentioned tummy pains when sneezing and coughing. I get those too. I find that if I hunch forward and put a hand on my tummy that cures it.

Thanks for all the tips about CDs etc. I think I will get the exercise on for sure as I am not doing enough.

Say it quietly but I might be entering a good phase! DH tells me I am 'clearly in the blooming stage'. I don't feel quite that fabulous but I am better than I have been since getting pg. I credit the pregnancy yoga classes and dream genii pillow (which has enabled me to sleep again) so would thoroughly recommend both.

Hope I haven't jinxed it now!

Feeling some flutterings which I am pretty sure are the baby. Nothing strong enough to be felt from the outside though. And still plenty of stretching twinges.

Anxious, excited and impatient for 20 week scan. It's still 2 weeks away. Refusing to buy anything for baby until then.

Hope everyone else is well.

Hi ladies

Has anyone else had a taxoplasmosis test? I've got cats and also garden a lot so my mum is paranoid I'm going to catch it. I'm sure I've probably already been in contact and therefore am immune.
I'm not touching the cat's litter and always wear gloves for gardening but will still like a test so I can shut her up!
I asked at the hospital but they don't do it and said I had to get it done through the gp. Saw her on Friday and she hadn't a clue. She finally did a referral for a blood test but I'm not that reassured she'll know what she's looking at when the results come back.
Anyone else been tested and if so what am I looking for?
Thanks
