good luck with your sections today girls..........hope you have lovely newborn snuggles ( not jealous at ALL) xx

Iheartpasties · 19/10/2012 07:49

horsey I have read on here about feeling like you have giant hands, I do not know what it is. It was one of those threads where everyone owns up to having something 'wierd or unusual' about themselves, they are often quite humourous, but I do remember a few saying 'yes! I have had the giant hand thingy'. Perhaps be mindful of the UTI, is there anything you can get from a pharmacy to fight one off?! dunno.

Iheartpasties · 19/10/2012 07:55

tits ((hugs)) It must just be awful for you. I cannot imagine.

shanelle How are things going for you? Have you managed to reach out in RL and explain your situation to anyone, I bet you will have lots of help if you do.

TheDetective · 19/10/2012 07:57

I've been wanting to go up to the Sure Start centre all week to find out what activities are available, will try and do that as well today. I want a productive day today!

I'll have to wear flip flops though....! And it's bloody raining!

I'm sat on the couch, with DP sleeping on the other one. His alarm has been going off for some time. It is NOT quiet! I'm not sure how the friggin' hell he manages to sleep through it. If he thinks he is sleeping through a crying baby.... he's got another thing coming for the first 4 weeks he is off work anyway Grin

Can I just ask, for those who are term now, are your DP's making sure that they get adequate sleep too, in case you labour and they are required to be awake for a long time, and useful during your labour, as opposed to a giant slug sleeping in a chair Hmm. I'm trying to get DP to see that staying up til stupid o clock, then being knackered the next day is not going to do him any favours with me. I thought he might have learned after his 2 hour sleep last night, then having to stay up with me all day yesterday. But no. He woke me after midnight last night doing stuff in the kitchen, so clearly didn't have the early night he said he was going to. And I'm wondering why his alarm isn't waking him now.... Hmm

pikz · 19/10/2012 08:02

Good luck to all those having sections today! I am jealous as am ready for this baby now!

Finisihing work today and DP is home and isn't getting on another aeroplane for 6 weeks so suddenly very real but he can now arrive any time and we are ready!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 19/10/2012 08:03

Good luck everyone for appointments/c sections/ inductions/ ramifications of sweeps!

horsey are you hallucinating?

We haven't heard from lolly either Shock

georgee · 19/10/2012 08:06

Sophia how did you get on with the late left switch last night?

I agree lolly's been quiet. Might be a bumper day for babies!

Iheartpasties · 19/10/2012 08:07

detective Its a valid point, if you want your partner to be able to support you fully they will need to have had enough sleep or as much as they can. ATM I am too focused on me having enough sleep - I dont care how much dh is getting! Bad I know. I was at breaking point though and finally he buggered off to the spare room.

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 08:07

horsey check for swelling, and if your hands, face, feet or anything else is swollen, best call triage. You are a very fit person clearly, so when you are not right, I worry.

tits as you are 37 weeks they are more likely to consider, as if baby arrived now, there would be nothing special put in place as you are considered 'term'. Sadly I often think that with the NHS those who shout loudest get best treatment, and it is people like us who struggle through, who have to wait. I remember I had PID for a year and was waiting on exploratory surgery. I had 26 courses of antibiotics, sometimes two different ones at time. The girl next to me had been admitted via A&E with the same symptoms, and had been so loud, she was given all sorts of pain relief. If I had been loud like her, I would have suffered a year less pain, and my tubes would not have been ruined at 26. Be loud! Be tearful, snotty and emotional! They may still say no, but hopefully at least they would put a bit more your way to help you last the final 3 weeks.

horseylady · 19/10/2012 08:13

No I was aware of what I was feeling. I knew it was illogical!! Think I was very very tired. And probably half awake and half asleep.

Detective dh taking it all very seriously now!! He's slept in the spare room the last two nights as I've been restless!! I'd rather he was rested than slept next to me who isn't sleeping.

I don't think it is a uti, I very rarely get them anyway, when I do the urine usually smells strong (it doesn't) and is painful to go (it isn't). I was just wondering why I was running a temperature last night?! Probably hormonal!! Body getting ready etc.

horseylady · 19/10/2012 08:15

Vq no swelling anywhere!! I've been lucky and had mo swelling so far.

Honestly I think I just got over tired. Note to self- 38 weeks pregnant I can not run around for near on 12 hours and not expect to feel it!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 19/10/2012 08:16

georgee the baby has disappeared now!

Long shot question not to do with pregnancy at all. DD1 has a Brownie project to do this weekend and has to do a poster of what the Browwnies will be doing in ten years. I am at a loss, anyone got any ideas? Or indeed done it? Or can anyone prophesise?

horseylady · 19/10/2012 08:19

Has brownies changed much over the time they've been going? Be positive celebrate the queens 70 years platinum anniversary!!

Iheartpasties · 19/10/2012 08:22

I was a Brownie, I was a sixer! I was rubbish though, I had hardly any badges.

Maybe we will have robot Brownies??!!

georgee · 19/10/2012 08:25

Sophia - Disappeared?! Well, that wasn't suppose to happen was it?! Confused Maybe back to plan A for you! I must say I'm finding it tricky to locate where the baby's back/bottom is this morning, maybe mine's disappeared too!

Um, re: the brownies, designing their camping arrangements with computer modelling technology? Doing badges in strange and weird things like futurology? Maybe some things that are really environmentally based. Are there badges in recycling? (I bet there are!)

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 08:26

Good idea horsey about the brownies. They will still be camping and roasting marshmallows hopefully. Glad you are better today and not swollen. I am not an expert about UTIs but I know they can present without pain on passing water and without smelly wee. They can be a bit odd, especially in pregnancy. Perhaps just getting a dip stick done on your pee at the surgery? Also keep an eye on your temp as it does not go up for nothing, and an infection at 38 weeks is not a good thing. It must be very hard to slow down, but I think the time has come.

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 08:27

Camping on the moon! Could be fun project to do?

Iheartpasties · 19/10/2012 08:30

Oh yes - Brownies in space!! sounds amazing. Surely they can teleport to the moon by then!!!!!!!

horseylady · 19/10/2012 08:37

Thing is (like today) I feel it, so will just do pottering jobs. Tomorrow I'll recover and do more?! I just can't help it (nervous energy!!)

Brownies to the moon!!! Brilliant!!! I loved brownies. Dh loved cubs and scouts too so wants the baby to join (when he's old enough!!)

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 08:45

You could design a little space uniform for them. And include boys. By then I am sure boys will be allowed in the coolest club on earth.

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 08:48

horsey so long as you listen to your body and remember you are pg (very)

I was in the Girls Brigade as a child, but was thrown out for bad behaviour. I was welcomed by the brownies. Not so keen on the Guides as it got a bit bitchy.

blonderthanred · 19/10/2012 08:48

Thanks for the info Stunt. Sorry about your redundancy and missing out on the last-day-ness.

I just went for a wee and was just about to flush when I noticed a small, pea-sized object in the loo. Thought I'd better fish it out in case it was anything important so got some loo roll and grabbed it. It was... a pea. I do remember dropping one down my PJ top during dinner last night, it must have got stuck somewhere... Blush

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 08:50

That is funny blonder very funny! Was it squished?

Iheartpasties · 19/10/2012 08:50

blonderthanred HA! Brilliant that is the f-ing funniest thing I have read all day, all week probably. Hilarious!!! a pea!!!!!!!! I cannot stop laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

horseylady · 19/10/2012 08:50

Blonder actually just lol at that!!!!
