I'm going to have a nap too. Since I was awake at 4... I am now tired!

I need to make a GP appointment for tomorrow because I've been putting up with a very painful little toe all week. I have ignored it, put cream on it, dressed it to see if that helped walking on it a little better. And nothing has helped. I think it is infected, it is the top of my little toe, and it is all red. And sore.

I've never been to the GP for something so 'silly' before. But I don't know what to do! I'm struggling to walk with the sore fanjo, so the toe is compounding the problem! I tried to wear my shoes this morning and cried! I went in slippers in the end Grin

I have no idea how it got sore, only that it happened overnight, and has been just as bloody uncomfy all week. It also happened the same night as the sore fanjo. Think my body is taking the pee out of me.

Iheartpasties · 16/10/2012 10:03

Oh I've had a cough for a week and it's agony when I am lying down, hurts low down. Bah!

Iheartpasties · 16/10/2012 10:07

thedetective did you see the thread about putting raw garlic on a sore toe?!! You could try that!!?

MissMummy1 · 16/10/2012 10:14

I was awake every single hour (on the hour) to pee last night. Arghh! And despite sleeping in separate rooms, I still manages to wake DH up at 4am. He didn't seem his usual pissed off self about it, but was clearly annoyed enough to mention it and now I feel bad Angry. Hey ho, just tomorrow until he's on leave for a week again!

I've made plans for every day in october now (except today - today is jammies in front of the telly day Grin) but just realised I have nothing planned for november, and am not due till the very end of the month. Arghh if you think my constant posting out of boredom is annoying now!! (although knowing my luck you will have all graduated by then...)

TheDetective · 16/10/2012 10:16

Um, raw garlic?! Why....?! I did not see this thread, no!

I am going to make a resolution not to read any more birth boards on other sites, or the Daily F Mail online. They infuriate me, and I have too much time on my hands. Not a good combination! I think the DM need some proof readers... for those who are interested in proof reading - go offer your services!

I think I'll stick here where the sane people are, thank you!

Iheartpasties · 16/10/2012 10:29

Garlic has some sort of anti-fungal properties, there was a thread i was reading about it yesterday. The OP had had a manky tow for 3 years and all sorts of medication had not sorted it - but then garlic rubbed onto it sorted it out! quite interesting :) I cant remember where it was though.

ShellyBobbs · 16/10/2012 10:29

I think the DM needs more than proof readers, I used to buy it for the pure entertainment factor!

Was scaring hubby last night with my braxton hicks and half hourly trips to the loo, the overheating and heavy breathing Grin I did keep telling him it was nothing to worry about but him being a mother bird and all........

ShellyBobbs · 16/10/2012 10:31

...plus he knows that I never tell him anything until the very last minute. With my first I was 8cm before I fessed up how bad it really was Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/10/2012 10:33

missmummy don't worry I'll prob still be on this thread by the end of nov too! I've got 10 days to go overdue before it turns into a dec baby and I will not be happy if that happens!

Iheartpasties · 16/10/2012 10:33

shelly :)

ShellyBobbs · 16/10/2012 10:37

My friend had her baby yesterday, nearly 2 weeks overdue. I've got nobody to moan with now who completely understands.

ShellyBobbs · 16/10/2012 10:39

Does anyone get braxton hicks because they need a crap? Don't tell me I'm starting with that now because my life is going to be one long braxton as I can only force out full stop rocks at the moment and can be on there nearly all day.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/10/2012 10:49

vq good points. Thanks for reminding me. I must sort out the feeding box of toys. I was thinking of a till (stop him counting our money) a small jigsaw, a couple of books have you got any other ideas? He is 26 months.

I have just done a major clean like a whirlwind through the house. It was crazy nesting to the max. I even got the nozzle out on the Hoover Shock and did behind the bedside tables. I mean business if I get the nozzle out, it doesn't happen very often.

The baby seems to have dropped down at least two inches in the last few hours. Is making walking a bit difficult.

Iheartpasties · 16/10/2012 10:50

I get them when my bladder is full. I thought maybe I was having baby this morning but who knows what it was!? I had just had a nice big poo.

Passmethecrisps · 16/10/2012 10:57

Good morning bumpers,

How lovely to have a visit from last year's group. Just think - that will be us in a year and we will already have had 3 first birthdays by then.

I slept really late this morning and I think I only woke 3 times during the night. I feel a bit dopey as a result actually but what a lovely feeling to have more than an hour sleep at a time. MM I am another who wakes every hour to the minute - I know the time before I even look. It's astonishing really. It is a real shame your DH can't be even a touch more empathic. Obviously if he is tired because you have woken him then you are tired from being woken too!

How weird about your toe detective. Is it an ingrown toenail? I have broken toes and really badly staved them and it is astonishing just how painful and genuinely disabling a wee toe can be! Get yourself to the doc!

I don't really know what to do with myself at all. DH keeps telling me to chill and make the most of the time but I can't settle. I am doing that thing where I achieve nothing but I am not really enjoying my time either. I told myself I wouldn't turn the telly on as I find daytime telly soporific and depressing but I find myself sitting staring at This Morning. I know how lucky I am just to have a needy cat demanding my attention rather than a toddler. I am not complaining - more annoyed at myself for not being able to chill.

YellowWellies · 16/10/2012 11:01

Haha Sophia I have exactly the same definition of 'now I mean business' cleaning. If Henry Hoover's attachments come out of the cupboard and I do behind furniture (even just half heartedly) that's a deep clean in our house. The baby is going to have a marvellous immune system and hopefully being a slob might keep DH's family asthma / allergies at bay.

Right I'm going to try to waddle down the brae to the GP for my flu jag. I am so SLOW now....

Passmethecrisps · 16/10/2012 11:04

Actually, sophia your post has just given me a clue about why I feel so unsettled.

DH was decorating at the weekend and the whole house is completely upside down. There literally is not a space not affected by the decorating. There is little I can do about it as much of it relies on the baby's room being finished and the rest is stuff he needs to find a home for. I can't even put laundry away as the drawers are in a cupboard and the cupboard is stuffed with things put there. I could haul it all out but it would need to be stuffed back in which means we wouldn't get access to our clothes. First world problems, I know . . .

YellowWellies · 16/10/2012 11:06

MM aye a touch more empathy wouldn't go amiss from him indoors. He was woken once - baby / bladder woke you hourly - who is going to feel worse? My sister's DH has to turn every illness, pain or niggle into a competition too it infuriates her! MM I have a feeling he could be one of those blokes who whinges that you squeezing his hand in labour 'hurt him' Grin make sure you draw blood bad YW Wink

Passme I'm the same with daytime telly but yet when I work at home - on it goes - I can't help myself. Try putting R4 on instead - I have to do this first thing before I get sucked into the TV. Or grab a good book and a box of chocs. I have a feeling I'm really going to miss my reading time.

ValiumQueen · 16/10/2012 11:06

I had proper pain on waking but it was just a poo. Took some effort too. Need more fibre.

sophia DVD or kids tv is your friend. Also I find ice lollies or ice pops or an apple will keep them quiet for ages. My DD will be allowed to play with her big sisters barbies as a special feeding time treat. She will spend ages matching shoes up and putting them on the dolls. She has learned that if any go in her mouth they are taken away instantly. Baby dolls and peppa pig playset also keep her amused. She is very good really. At the moment.

Passmethecrisps · 16/10/2012 11:06

Ladies, I grew up on a farm in a pretty grubby farm cottage. I am rarely ever ill and if I do catch a bug I always have it very much more mild than others. I thank my parents for their relaxed attitude to cleaning.

YellowWellies · 16/10/2012 11:08

Pass I could kiss you for that. Was going to hoover later - naaaaaah. Doctors orders - best not :)

Passmethecrisps · 16/10/2012 11:09

yellow I am turning the radio on this instant. When driving to work I spend 2 hours a day listening to radio 4 and wishing I could listen to all the programmes they trail. Now is my chance and I sit here on my fat arse staring at Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

MissMummy1 · 16/10/2012 11:09

My plan for immunity boosting is to let them sit in daddy's garage every few days. It's the only part of the house and my office that is neglected on the cleaning front. It's his space and ergo his responsibility to keep clean. Which he doesn't. .

Don't get me wrong, I am hugely in favour of not wrapping kids up in a sterile bubble. The fact my mum let us roll around in mud with the dog and didn't mop the kitchen floor every day is probably why we're all so healthy! I just go through periods in my life where I like things to be obsessively clean. Usually when I'm stressed, which is why it's so unusual that I'm cleaning now because with the exception of impending inlaw visit I am completely unstressed! Hmm,maybe boredom makes for a clean and tidy house too?

ValiumQueen · 16/10/2012 11:12

pass you are welcome to have my toddler if it would help? Not permanently obviously as I have spent a lot of time and money on her.

Iheartpasties · 16/10/2012 11:12

as yes - a bit of dirt does us all good. This is what I say to myself when dd is licking her shoe or something else gross!! :)
