horsey I am sure you look awesome. I am not jealous at all Grin

ValiumQueen · 05/10/2012 18:59

GT a fellow Dexter fan! I caught up on net flix, and DH has just bought season 4. How is it possible to love a serial killer?

YokoUhOh · 05/10/2012 19:00

Thanks ladies, you're all lovely. Chunkychicken our half term isn't 'til the 29th (8 week half term, grr) so I'm stopping then. I think I might have a chat with the HR lady and ask if it's okay to duck out early if I've got a free period etc.

pikz · 05/10/2012 19:07

Another one here struggling to keep up!

Hope Evil is ok and there is news soon. I'm working til 36 weeks with a week and a bit hols so official maternity leave starts at 37. I work 13 hour days and am starting to find it a struggle somedays now.

Bimbledorf · 05/10/2012 19:31

Hi everyone, please can I rejoin 6 months later Blush I feel really bad as I didn't want to come in and say hello without having followed the thread all along but I've been trying to catch up over the last few days.

ANYWAY hope all is good with you Evil and lovely to see the rest of you still on here and with a few early arrivals!! So glad to hear that things are going well with them all.

I am currently 34 weeks but have randomly developed Obstetric Cholestasis so won't be going over 38 weeks apparently before they induce me. It might even be an October baby - possibly Halloween Hmm Being monitored regularly and taking some lovely bile tablets and all is currently well with baby and I feel no effects apart from the insane itching. It's very odd that I have it seeing as this is pregnancy number 3 and I've seemingly never had it before! I know no pregnancy is the same but still it seems odd.

I will try and keep up now till the end. Enjoy your weekends - hope you all manage some rest in amongst the pregnancy insomnia.

ValiumQueen · 05/10/2012 19:41

bimble welcome back. Even regulars find it hard to keep up, so do not feel you need to apologise. Rotten about the OC. The itching must be horrid.

Hi pikz how are you?

izzy would you consider a section? Possibly not worth it for a week, as that is all it would give you. Perhaps rub up against bimble and see if you can catch OC to gain you two weeks? In relation to the morphine, many of the ladies I deal with inject God knows what while pregnant, and their babies are generally ok. Your baby is so well developed now, it would be a safe, clean, monitored therapeutic dose, so I would have a talk with your doctor. Yes, it is not ideal, but neither is the stress and pain you are going through at the moment. It is not something they offer lightly. Maybe it would be a better option now x

ValiumQueen · 05/10/2012 19:43

Yes, I know you cannot catch OC. Feeble attempt at humour, sorry.

Titsalinabumsquash · 05/10/2012 19:55

izzy I can totally sympathise, most days now I'm stuck downstairs because I simply cannot walk, it's agony, really bad. I have crutches and support belts but neither take away the fact that my pelvis is in constant pain. Sad
They keep offering me Co codine and its various forms even though they have been told I'm allergic Angry

I used to take Oramorph on a 4 hr basis all
of last year, I had chronic endometriosis and it was the only thing that helped, living in a morphine bubble wasn't pleasant but the relief of not being in pain after so long was enough to make me weep with relief. They've not suggested it this time though. I'm 35 weeks today and am praying this little man comes at 37 weeks like DS2 did, I cannot take 5 more weeks of this let alone 7 if I go over due! I have midwife Monday and a scan/consultant apt on the 12th, my consultant has so far been very sympathetic and sensible, I'm going to discuss induction/csection at 38/39 weeks if this gets worse.

ShellyBobbs · 05/10/2012 19:55

VQ Loved the slamming of doors Grin

I've never lost my mucus plug either, although when I had my water infection a few weeks ago I did lose something that was not discharge but very firm and looked like opaque jelly, but it was only as big as a 50p so didn't worry about it.

I remember last time about a few days before I had my daughter, I was stood in the shower and discharge was just dripping out of me ewwwwww.

So Horsey you're still none the wiser :) but fingers crossed for soon?

Yes, looks like Evil is either near to or currently having lovely baby cuddles.

pikz · 05/10/2012 19:57

I'm good Valium just tired and glad it's Friday! How are you?

The feeble attempt at humour very much made me laugh...we should rename this the uncomfortable and tired thread...am 34 weeks on Monday and very much looking forward to baby being here.

Peaky1 · 05/10/2012 20:00

Really sorry as I know we tend to have Braxton Hicks questions all the time. I'm sat on my gym ball in the living room and my bump is feeling particularly tight at times (not painful) but it's in the upper middle part. The sides don't feel rock solid much. At first I just thought he's moved his bum and back directly to the centre of my bump but he doesn't normally feel like this Hmm

FatimaLovesBread · 05/10/2012 20:53

Just marking my place

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2012 21:01

Hello ladies!

Last day of work for meeeee. My goodness I am pooped - not a day too soon I think. yoko I am a secondary teacher and I finished for October hols today at 35+2. Hols last a fortnight so officially my mat leave starts at 37 weeks. I think I could manage one more week but it would be a stretch. My lack of speed makes it hard to move from one side f the building to another which I need to do multiple times a day.

My hands have been getting sore. Like tight and stiff - I need to keep flexing my fingers. Any ideas ladies?

Welcome back bumble. When I left for work at 7:45 this morning we still had about 20 posts on the old thread - I get home and we are 6 pages in to this one.

Lost mucus plugs and waters breaking suddenly makes all this terribly real and present. When to start the raspberry leaf tea?

Have a good night out horsey!

blonderthanred · 05/10/2012 21:06

Just back from the Baby & Toddler event at Bluewater, it was really nice and not too busy. Lots of non-essential but fun things to waste spend money on, DH got his Cuddledry towel that he has coveted for ages and I got a M&P stripey blanket, and we got some other bits and pieces.

Had my WC jab this morning and booked for Flu next week, luckily had no side effects as I had to drive back on the rainy dark trafficky M25.

On the topic of maternity leave, I was due to leave at 37w but as I'm being induced at 38w, I have just finished at 35w. I have to say I'm very glad I don't have another 2 weeks to traipse up and down stairs, I was pretty tired in the last week or so. One of the few good things about the early induction.

YokoUhOh · 05/10/2012 21:23

Passmethecrisps - ah, the 2-week half term holiday! Makes total sense, why do we only get a week? I'm finding it hilarious being a pregnant teacher; the kids come up to me and ask how 'Jermaine' is (at no point have I threatened to call him Jermaine). Also, all the boys think that somehow I'm going to name him after them.

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2012 21:32

The super-ego of adolescence!

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2012 21:33

We do get one less at summer. I know what I prefer though! Certainly this year.

I find the funny sideways glances kids give amusing/disconcerting. I teach sex ed a lot and I know they are looking at me thinking "you've had sex! At least once!"

ValiumQueen · 05/10/2012 21:42

pass could your hands be swollen? That would explain the stiffness.

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2012 21:46

Maybe ever so slightly. Not massively.

MissMummy1 · 05/10/2012 21:47

Carpal tunnel syndrome pass ? I was told I probably had it at about 22 weeks although it's touchwood eased off alot now. At one point I couldn't even hold a cup my hands were so stiff and sore!

DH nipped out to tesco tonight to "get some beers incase the guy next door comes round". He came back with hungry caterpillar pjs! V cute! And some more vests - silly man obviously wasn't listening when I sad we need sleepsuits, NOT more vests! Bless him...

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 05/10/2012 21:57

I'm working until next Friday, when I will be 36 week, and am booked in for my section exactly 3 weeks later. Am tired but feeling ok, could probably keep working for longer, but want some time to self and some time with DD before.

GTbaby · 05/10/2012 21:58

VQ only ever watched one dexter episode. So loads to watch! Looking forward to it.

yoko fellow secondary teacher. Last day was today at 36+4. Last day was meant to b at 37+4. But I have really struggled this week. Pelvic pain has been awful for last 3 weeks. Did part time last week with a reduced hours letter from dr. But had to do full time this week or it wud trigger start of my mat leave. I don't think I would have made another week without major tears.

I've stayed seated all week -term- kids come to me when they need help. Meant to greet students at the door, I wave them in thro window from my desk sitting down. I've had a lot to do for hand over as I am curriculum leader. Also had exams meeting with head yesterday, open evening Tuesday. Had to write initial reports for year 7 & 9 before leaving. SO lots to do. But now I'm done -except the year 9 worksheets that ill have to do on Monday and email in, as I've been meaning to do them since before summer holidays-

Everyone is different! Quite a few family members have said they worked until few days before due date! N I felt the pressure to stay at work longer. But the pain is not worth it. Nor is the tiredness n exhausting feeling. I'm now in the opinion of - ill have the baby very soon, so I'm gone chill for a bit. Grin.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 05/10/2012 22:10

Thanks for that valium I think I may get GP appt to discuss the morphine. I'm just in agony now. I don't think I want a c section as recovery likely to be longer and then I'd have to not drive after for a bit which would be difficult with existing DD. that's the annoying thing, they schedule c sections for 39 weeks so why not let me have induction then instead?

tits sorry to hear you sure struggling too. You may be lucky and go into labour early again then? I wish I could have baby soon

Titsalinabumsquash · 05/10/2012 22:13

I'm hoping I do, although I was the same with SPD with DS2 and the pain was so bad u didn't realise I was in labour until I was 10cm! I didn't feel the contractions or the urge to push or anything, luckily i was st a routine hosp apt, I'm terrified that will happen again but at home or out.

kissyfur · 05/10/2012 22:17

Bloody hell tits that must have been awful! Hope you and izzy get to have your babies soon, it sounds like you are really suffering
