Thought I would start the thread.

HC Sorry that our MIL is like that. I guess theres not much you can do apart from telling DH to stick up fo you. My Mil is ok but has her odd ways. She was against me bfing and was determined with DD that she would be dressed in pink frilly dresses. Soon put a stop to all that and I just used to ignore her comments.

The kicks argetting a lot stronger now. They are still fairly low down and sometimes in my bladder.

Im glad im not the only one breaking wind like a trooper. Im almost afraid to bend over in work Blush

Im hoping to go back to work 3 1/2 possibly 4 days a week. Im going to put DD in nursery 2/3 mornings but mil will have both the rest of the time. Id love to do less but when I work out how much id lose its shocking and weve just extended our morgage for the extension. The other option ive got is to work in the call centre and do shifts but I dont fancy the weekend shifts. Im too frightened to tell my mnagaer yet.

opps - 'my' not 'me'

maewest · 31/03/2006 11:44

Hi all - 23 weeks today! Having a day off from work today, been doing housework (boo!) but going to meet a friend in town for coffee later (much nicer). Have never had a nosebleed in my life, but have noticed some dried blood when I blow my nose occasionally (sorry, tmi!) so maybe this is my version.

I am a bit worried about what will happen to my boobs post baby as they are rather mega even when not pg. Bit concerned that they will end up swinging somewhere round my knees. Maybe somekind of trolley could be fashioned... Don't know why some women have huge implants - hmm, how does back ache, never finding clothes in a normal shop that fit properly on top etc...

Straightforward · 31/03/2006 11:46

Jersey - I've just tried to CAT you but it says you don't accept them. How would you like deblaca and me to contact you re these nappies?

jersey · 31/03/2006 12:34

Hi

My email address is [email protected]

If you email me your addresses I will sort out what I have and you can decide how you want to split them. Then I can let you know p&p costs.

Thanks

Hi deblaca and straightforward

I have replied to your emails. I will let you know monday what I have and you can decide between you. Not sure what we paid for them but think for everything (wraps, terries and liners) it totalled about £100 I think. We are keeping the terries as they where very good for winding protection and have been very well used Grin. We still have a roll of liners and wraps.

Speak to you then.

dangirl · 31/03/2006 13:36

Annie29 · 31/03/2006 14:32

Thanks again for all your thoughts on MMR. There's so much stuff on it out there.

Anyways, have a lovely weekend everyone, I'm off now to look at a potential new flat, which may mean selling ours which (swear word) means having to clean it up for evaluations...
Have a good one, girls, take it easy

Annie (25+1)

IamBlossom · 31/03/2006 15:16

Dangirl you lucky sausage. Have a fabulous time!

DS had MMR, I decided benefits outweighed risks and he was absolutely fine, didn't even cry and no after effects.

My midwife cousin has said that boob sagginess is caused by pregnancy not breastfeeding, so I guess it happens whether you do or not. Just spent the morning round there (working hard as usual, not) while my sister sorted through all her baby girl clothes, and cuddled my cousin's 10 week old baby boy Arthur for the whole time we were there, he is absolutely GORGEOUS, really jolly, and smily and scrummy, if I wasn't pregnant myself I would have been crying with broodiness.

Busy weekend coming up, shopping trips for house stuff, swimming with DS on Sunday etc etc, so havea good one everybody!

Love Blossom.

xx

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all have a great weekend. DH and I are planning a trip to the Mamas and Papas store to check out strollers, and then to Ikea. We haven't bought anything for baby yet, and I overheard the sales lady in John Lewis tell another lady to make sure she had placed all her orders at least 10 weeks before her due date. Even though I have 14 weeks, it made me a little panicky.

If the boobs definately shrink after PG and BF, I will be pleased. I have been carrying 'round what my flat chested mother jealously calls my "inheritance" from Grandmother on Dad's side since early teens. On the downside, I have always been too bouncy and have NEVER liked jogging. Also, have mostly had to wear Grandma bras (even some they tried to sell me at Bravissimo).

Straightforward - if its true, I look forward to a perky C cup after PG and BF. Since going up in sizes with this PG, I have been threatening DH that I want a reduction afterwards. Sounds like I may not need it. (yay)

re Nappies - I am going to try reusables, and have been doing a lot of research. Unfortunately there are no nappywash services in my area, and our Borough has no incentives. I want to use tots bots or something similar. I would love a service that washed those for you!

deblaca · 31/03/2006 16:19

kayzed - moltex are our back-up option - re bf reading about the chewing has just made me feel weak (lol) 1.6l sounds like a lot but then I don't, as yet, know about these things - omg - panic i've just realised i don't know how much to feed my lo .....
Chat2ali - i'm with you re boobs - i wouldn't mind dropping to a (firm) C cup think it would be novel after being a DD most my adult life
dangirl - hotel - serious Envy - enjoy yourselves (i'm sure you will)
my DH has left me again - gone to morocco for 10 days working boo hoo
hope yall have good w/ends

i was considering using a pump so DH could take over feeding every now and then .... kayzed - out of interest is there a reason that you'd rather not use a pump (hope i'm not misinterpreting you)

agalch · 31/03/2006 18:10

Hiya girls

I am of the disposable brigade.Never fancied the reusables. My last mindee who used them and they were awful.Pulling tights/trousers up over these huge things was a nightmare. The smell from just a wee was yucky never mind a poohy one.Eeeww!!And the seperating the liner/pooh from the pad thing was yuck too.Much nicer and easier to wrap up a disposable and stick it out in the bin.

Re the breastfeeding,i am bf this time too.I am still feeding dd who will be 2 when babe arrives.Have cut her down to a morning and bedtime feed in preperation for babes arrival. My boobs don't look too bad with pg or bf but i suspect after this one they may be heading south lol. I was never able to express even with the great support from mw and hv so i am the only one who could feed dd until she was on a cup/solids.I do think it's such a short time and well worth trying it.

Will be having imms for this baby too.Had no hesitation with dd.I felt with the research available it was the lesser of two evils.

Hope you all are ok and have a good weekend.DD just getting over chicken pox so i'll be catching up on some sleep hopefully.

puddytat99 · 31/03/2006 18:29

Hi everyone

Hope everyone is keeping well. Saw my mw today, what a waste of time. Yet again it was a different mw. Have not seen the same one twice yet!!! Was told that I probably wouldn't get access to any antenatal classes as they are being overhauled in our area and won't be sorted until after baby is here. Thought it would be nice to go to a few as it's been 12 years since DS was born.

Told her I was terrified about going into hospital and was thinking about a home birth (had a really bad experience with DS) but was told that it would be a lot of paperwork for mws and to talk it over with my regular mw (would love to is I could ever get to see her!!!!).
So in and out in 5 mins Angry

Sorry about ranting there, just made me mad especially when everyone goes on about 'it's what you want to happen, it's your birth experience, etc'.

We're going to try and use cloth nappies. I've bought prefolds with a wrap, which look really cute!!! Also bought a breast pump today as DS and DH want to get involved as much as poss. Picked up a few other cute and essential bits too.

Has any been having any Braxton Hicks yet? I've had quite a few over this past week. Sorry about long post, hope you all have a great weekend.

kbaby · 31/03/2006 20:37

HumphreysCorner - Of course you should give it a go. If at least anything just to prove you still done like it. You need to do it for about 1 month though before you start to enjoy it.
kayzed - you did really well with the expressing. I cant believe you lasted so long. I tried when I went back to work and gave up after 2 weeks.
deblaca - The pump is a pain as youre still taking the time to feed the baby and then the only time your not, your pumping for milk to use. So itfeels like your feeding twice. It is handy for the odd evening out though.
puddytat99 - What a terrible attitude, who cares if a homebirth is a lot of paper work for them. Its your choice. Dont let them put you off if its what you want, theyre prob against it as it means they cant nip out of the room every 5 mins to chat and make tea with other mw. I never found my mw much cop with DD and used to envy those people who said they were able to ring their mw and ask questions.
