Oh and lovely pram ditsy Smile

ValiumQueen · 01/10/2012 18:15

horsey do get it checked out. Is the BP machine reliable? Can you check it on someone else, and check on your other arm. What is your pulse? What is it normally? I am guessing it is usually at the lower end of normal as you are fit, and it can drop in pregnancy. any chance you could be bleeding somewhere? Any new swelling or bruising? May be nothing though. I am no expert.

horseylady · 01/10/2012 18:23

Yes reliable the normal machine. It's usually (none pregant) 100/70 pregnant it's dropped to an average of 90/60. Pulse when low was 91 but I couldn't feel it.

Anyway seems to have increased to a more normal level and more reassuringly my pulse has reduced and I can feel it again!! I got scared it was high as I had stars and a headache!! Measured it and it was very low :/ anyway had something to drink and a quick bite to eat. Thanks for your advice!!

Baby happy i wonder if he was leaning on the main artery?

kirrinIsland · 01/10/2012 18:26

Sorry Scottish ladies - I am in England, down south.

kissy I was offered both jabs in the same appointment so I guess it's ok to have them close together? (I've already had the flu one though so no need).

horsey to echo what's been said above - drink lots, take it easy and keep checking.

Thechick · 01/10/2012 18:27

How exciting PetiteRaleuse how are you feeling??

Evilwater · 01/10/2012 18:29

Evil

PetiteRaleuse · 01/10/2012 18:32

Terrified Grin but am in quite a lot of pain so a little relieved too. DD Just turned 18 mo so I don't think any time would be perfect to be fair.

NervousAt20 · 01/10/2012 18:39

Thank you YW

WOW petite just over two weeks!!

applepieinthesky · 01/10/2012 18:41

Wow petite that's not far off at all. Have you got everything prepared?

My antenatal class which starts tonight is 6 weeks and I only have 6 weeks and 4 days until my due date! If little one comes early I won't get to complete it. It feels very real now. Only 8 days left at work as well.

FatimaLovesBread · 01/10/2012 18:41

GTBaby ? I?m lucky in that the company I work for makes witch hazel so I?ve got a stash. I can see if I?ve got any spare bottles or see how much it is on the staff orders if anyone?s stuck for any?

Shelly ? I?ll add to the nice poos, mine is currently black and a bugger to push outGrin

Horsey ? work are doing a collection for my leaving and I?m hoping to get a nice changing bag with that? Seen some nice one?s in the big M&P near us and at John Lewis, need to pick one

Ditsy ? I love the pram. I?ve got this in grape which could be seen as a pinky purple. Not too bothered with it for a boy though. Although I could always buy another colour pack. If you?re not happy could you see about swapping?

I?ve just remember that I haven?t booked my NHS antenatal class. We just get one. Do you think I should book it or just learn from the oracle of mumsnet? Worried if I ring now it will be too fully booked.

Baby has been sat v low and on my bladder all day, kept needing to wee and felt like I had cystitis. I think it?s moved a bit now though. I seem to be getting bigger by the day now. Can?t wait to finish work and just mooch. My due dates one of the later ones on this thread though so I fear I?ll be waiting ages for baby to arrive while you?re all cuddling newborns

TheDetective · 01/10/2012 19:52

Well, that's my nights over with. Days this week, and nights next week. Then I'm done. Thank god. I struggled a lot last night, possibly babys position, possibly the fact it was the last night of 4!

I had cramps from about 3am, but was pulled to LW again (at same time as cramps kicked in), and had a labouring woman to care for. Between us, I'm not sure who was moaning (inwardly!) more! I felt as if baby was trying to push through my throat too! I walked round with my hands pressing the top of my bump down!

I'm so ready to finish now, but I need to keep going. You do what you have to I suppose. It is lovely that people keep complimenting me on how well I look, and how easy I seem to make pregnancy look Hmm. If they knew the truth, they would make me stop work now lol! I can't whinge in work because I don't want to be forced to stop. So I just keep going the same as usual. The shower flooded the bathroom and beyond on my 2nd night, and I had to get on hands and knees to mop it all up :(

Why does everything seem to be located as such low levels too! Someone told me off for bending at the non existent waist the other day, but if I bend with my knees, they don't have the power to push me back up, and then I topple over backwards like a bloody skittle!!!

The joys of pregnancy, hmmmmmm! Currently sat here dripping with sweat, heating turned off, and patio doors wide open! It's too warm!

On the poo subject, I've been reduced to a clear out once a week Hmm Although it is still normal, and I don't feel constipated?! As long as it doesn't hurt, I don't give a shit Grin....!

Ditsy The pushchair does look a little pinkish to me, but we all see colours differently! I wouldn't worry too much. My pushchair is a different colour to the online colour, and I was slightly disappointed too, but have got used to it now. Give it a few days and see? How many weeks are you? Would you even have time to swap if you wanted to??!

PetiteRaleuse · 01/10/2012 20:01

Nope, nothing ready yet. Need to get the new born clothes out of the garage (feels like I just put them in there) and think about my suitcase and the going home outfit etc. I did buy breast pads and big knicks this weekend so I am not in complete denial. And a couple of packs of nappies and some forula powder (planning to mix feed). Just need to organise breast pump rental (free over here on prescription) and move DD1 into her big bed a week or so earlier than planned.

Health wise I have anaemia, two hernias, sciatica and slightly high blood pressure (though not worried about pre-eclampsia). I think this is why they are bringing it all forward.

FatimaLovesBread · 01/10/2012 20:08

detective Someone told me to bend with my knees the other day but I can't do it. I struggle to bend at all but if I have to I find it easier opening my legs wide and bending at the waist, in a touch the floor type motion. Or sometimes I bring one leg up as I go down in a pivot swing type motion Grin I must look a twat.

I feel like I should be doing something. Going to download Ina Mays book to read but what else do I need to prepare? What this raspberry leaf lark? And has anyone rented a TENS yet?

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 01/10/2012 20:34

I haven't rented one but I have bought one. I bought one last time but Kent it our last year and never got the damn thing back! She 'lost' it! So I've bought another. It's all packed along with spare batteries and electrode pads injustice in case! I loved mine last time right up til I started pushing where I demanded it ripped off!

ValiumQueen · 01/10/2012 20:34

24 sleeps (or attempts at sleeping).

Today I did an inventory of DSs clothes size 0-3 months. Please bear in mind I have only bought 1 second hand gro for him since I got pregnant, and only a handful of things are from DDs. This does not include gifts, this is all stuff I have bought second hand over the years 'just in case' Grin

Dungarees x 4
Track suits x 2
Rompers x 3
Jumpers/cardis x 4
Gros x 4
Nighties x 3 (from girls. He will be fine with pink)
Trousers/jeans x 8
T shirts x 18
Vests x 5 (from girls, but white)

Plus socks, hats, mits etc!

This does not include the early baby, and newborn stuff 'just in case'. Baby is already too big for the early baby stuff, so that will be on eBay soon.

I have been given 6 x gros, so all I need to get is vests.

Baby's bag all packed for hospital now. Feels good.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 01/10/2012 21:13

I fell over like a skittle in the entrance room of nursery the other day, putting DS's shoes on. He collapsed into hysterics! Hmm

FatimaLovesBread · 01/10/2012 21:44

Oooh izzy which one have you got? Have you bought the same as you had before?

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 01/10/2012 21:47

TMI alert but does anyone else have what I can only describe as an achy fanjo? I am presuming this is part of the actually achy pelvis/hips thing I am currently enjoying.

Got apt for final scan and to see consultant's team on weds, should hopefully get my ELCS date and discuss plans generally. Looking forward to seeing baby again.

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/10/2012 21:57

Hi all, sorry not had time to read through the thread properly since before the weekend so I hope everyone is ok and not struggling too much. I had a lovely relaxing weekend away with some close friends. Was a lovely hotel and I did lots of wallowing in the spa.

I'm 34 weeks today and starting to feel it more now. I've certainly got the waddle going on.

Just found out I won 2 tickets to the baby and toddler show at Bluewater this weekend so looking forward to that. My DH is in Spain so I'm going with my sister. Not that he'd come anyway, think that would be his idea of hell! Just not sure whether to take DD with me or not. I would imagine there will be loads of other kids there but not sure how much I'd be able to look properly. Don't really need to buy anything but there may be something there that I think I can't live without and hopefully there will be some bargains to be had.

Passmethecrisps · 01/10/2012 22:04

Hallo. Pooped.

I like the pram. It's burgundy. Only keep it if you like it though.

Glad you are better horsey. Scary low BP.

Things at school will get better VQ. It's a really difficult situation for you all. You could be best pals with the mum and it would make no difference though.

I have just been visited by a friend. . . Who had whooping cough. She called her GP who told her she was no longer infectious therefore safe to visit me. The GP did tell her to tell me to get the inoculation though. I will call tomorrow and ask for an appointment.

blonderthanred · 01/10/2012 22:09

Eliza we are planning to go to the B&T show too, probably the Friday though as I figured it would be slightly quieter - I've never been to Bluewater so bit scared! By the time the Baby Show at Earl's Court comes round at the end of the month it will be too late. Emma's Diary sent an offer for £5 tix but we are going to wait until after our consultant appt on Thurs to book just in case ...

TheDetective · 01/10/2012 22:29

Just built the shelving unit for babys room. Put the books/teddies on it. Giggled like a 5 year old girl for a bit... just need blind/curtains now, and the room is FINISHED! Woohoo!

It's looking good, especially given how small it is. Not sure baby will ever be able to do anything other than sleep in it, and store its clothes in there! No room for playing!!

I got the books out of the loft - they are the one thing I kept from DS. He has so many 'classic' baby books! I had lots of fun reading Peepo and Each Peach Pear Plum! It's lovely to be able to reuse them!

Feeling tired now, even though I have slept today after night last night, so don't think it will be long before I crash and burn! (Please don't let me wake at 3am or some other such stupid time!)

TheDetective · 01/10/2012 22:44

I think I may have a blanket addiction Shock

You can't have too many blankets, right?!!! I have 10 blankets, plus sheets etc. Hmmmmm.

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/10/2012 22:53

Hehe blonder you are wise to go on the Friday. If I didn't already have plans I would have gone on the Friday too. Bluewater at the weekend is a bit mental. I was actually there this afternoon! I live 15mins drive away so can easily pop there. Don't be scared. Bluewater is great. But like I said busy at weekends. Just make sure you park in the car park for the glow exhibition place (same place as cinema) otherwise you could end up over the other side. It's heavily sign posted and lots of restaurants are there too. All child friendly.

GTbaby · 01/10/2012 23:13

madam ditto on swollen bits Blush. Just feels a but odd. Not painful. Just awkward. I thought about going to baby show, but I can imagine buying stuff I really don't need. Or like the wedding shows I went to coming bk with a million bits of paper n no new ideas. Lol.

It's my last week at work. Thought of sitting at home for three weeks ( possibly 5) is not great. But as I said to my mum, I've got 6 months of it coming up so better get used to it lol although at least when fraggle gets here ill have something to do Grin
