fatima we have chosen a name but will be keeping it secret. My mum and brother kept going on and on about names so in the end I told them we've got one sorted but won't be telling anyone until he's here. DP's family do know the name but they are in Iran so it was his way of trying to make them feel involved in some way.

I always think people are far less rude about names once baby is here and it is certain.

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/09/2012 12:54

Argh bad back ache radiating down my legs like mad.
I have had a particularly stressful morning.

Hibernating seems good now!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 29/09/2012 13:03

Had a less than auspicious start to the day when I puked more violently than have in an age. DH had already left for work so I had DD patting my leg a I heaved, before she wandered off to look after her babies. Then we went for a walk because I didn't want to spend the only day where it is just the two of us lazing on the sofa, and she was a proper monster about being in her reins and wanted me to carry her. She's sleeping now and I am fighting the urge to snooze too as if I do I will feel worse when I wake up.

In the last couple of days my pelvis and hips have started to really feel the weight of the baby, and I have developed a sort of lumbering waddle. A good look.

FatimaLovesBread · 29/09/2012 13:04

apple That's what I think, if we say some names now we might get negative comments but if we announce it with a cute little baby then people aren't going to say it's a horrible name. Not that we've picked some ridiculously eccentric name, we haven't even picked one yet Smile

Tits I sympathise with the back ache Sad
My lower back, pelvis, fanjo bone and hips are hurting and it radiates down my leg. Keep getting frustrated but i'm sure it'll be worth it.

kirrinIsland · 29/09/2012 13:15

Sophie yes I am due on the 7th - I think I have definitely timed finishing work right, I am more than ready and the long drive was getting a bit much.

Fatima I would definitely not tell people the name - some bugger will always spoil it for you, whereas once baby is here they will just say it's nice whether they like it or not! I have no qualms about telling people we won't be saying beforehand either, most people understand, and the ones that don't will just have to get over it!

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/09/2012 13:23

I've sent DP and the kids out to fetch me McDonalds Blush
I can't walk at all, when I was awake in the night, I felt something snap just above my pubic line (hard to explain) I got a reall bad cramp, then this savage hip/pelvic/back pain ever since. Little one us still quite happily wriggling around in there though, I've had no discharge or anything so I'm sure it's all muscular but either way I'm not confident in going far today, the pain is reaching my knees. Hmm

FatimaLovesBread · 29/09/2012 13:31

Oh Tits that sounds awful! Can't you soak in a warm bath to take some weight off your back/hips? Or have you got a birth ball to sit on?

I came upstairs with the intentions of starting on the bedroom, I have some how ended up in bed checking on holiday prices Grin

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/09/2012 13:34

Ohh I could get my ball blown up, I've been looking for a good excuse! Smile
No bath though only a shower, I'll get DP to commence blowing when he gets in! Grin

I think he just wanted to do cinema tonight so at least it's sedate and I can fall asleep

YellowWellies · 29/09/2012 15:23

I've got my ball blown up and bounce away when watching tv Tits I highly recommend it even when I see my arse reflected in the window it looks like a hippos - when I get up from the couch I'm like an old woman with sore hips and pelvis but I feel fine after a good bounce.

MM1 am so glad you're fine hon - and also wonderful that DH is coming home early. Good man. I've had similar symptoms actually - the clear discharge (which was great last night when I farted and thanks to the discharge, it sounded like I'd 'sharted' Grin DH nearly wet himself, sigh the mystique has gone hasn't it now, I'll never be able to deny that I fart, snore or burp thanks to pregnancy!!!!) and some really quiet days movement wise. I'm going to mention it to the MW when I see her next week. Junior seems to be really active when DH and I are having a good natter or setting the world to rights listening to the radio - oh dear have we created another ranter???

I checked out the growth charts the sonographer filled in last week from our growth scan and woohoo it looks as though junior is going to be 7.5 - 8lb if they continue on this trajectory (so either a smallish boy or a biggish girl) - am feeling much more confident that I can birth one that size. I have been terrified of having a whopper.

Sophia it sounds like your wee one is either transverse or maybe left occipital posterior (or possibly others, let me know which side they are on and whether the MW said they were posterior or anterior) - they'll be totally fine in this position at this stage but would likely move before the birth. My wee one isn't engaged yet either but is down really low. I've noticed my bump change shape quite markedly...

YellowWellies · 29/09/2012 15:24

No news from nervous yet? :( that's making me nervous!

applepieinthesky · 29/09/2012 15:35

Hmm.. She was waiting to have a scan yesterday. I hope everything is alright.

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/09/2012 15:50

I hope nervous and bump are ok, hopefully resting all nice and healthy wherever they are.

My ball has a hole Sad I'll need to hunt a new one.

jaylee89 · 29/09/2012 16:00

hello ladies. well monday was an eventful night for me and DH baby decided she wanted to make a early appearance so had to have steriods and a drip inserted into my arm to stop my contractions and thank the lord it worked. was on labour ward for 48 hours and finally came home yesterday. still having some tightenings but hopefully she will stay put for a while yet!

been having alot of my show come away lately again so hopeing it isnt going to kick off again.

hope everone is well....and congratulations daisy i hope your little man is home safe and sound soon. xxx

applepieinthesky · 29/09/2012 16:03

Oh that reminds me. I need to get a yoga mat for my first antenatal class on Monday. I've left it late so it will have to be tesco or argos.

Took the dog to be groomed earlier. He's now in the garden barking at a balloon which floated over the fence because he's scared of it. Daft thing Grin Dishwasher ordered. DP is doing overtime until 7 then we might go out for a nice meal. I fancy an Indian I think.

ValiumQueen · 29/09/2012 16:19

Gosh jaylee glad they managed to halt things. Naughty baby!

Nervous about nervous too. Hope all is well x

I had a dishwasher once. Pointless as I used to wash up before I put stuff in as I did not want it to get dirty. Silly valium.

I feel like poo today. Went back to bed for a couple of hours this morning which is unheard of. Feel a bit better for it. DD2 is not wanting to wear her nappy and wants to sit on her potty. I cannot cope with potty training her so near to delivery. I just cannot. She has seemed ten foot tall today, but after a drive in the car she has finally fallen asleep. Sitting in car with her while DH and DD1 go food shopping.

YellowWellies · 29/09/2012 16:23

Wow jaylee how far along are you? You'd mentioned having a bit of the mucus plug coming away before hadn't you? Gawd that must have been terrifying. Well great news you've had the steroids and had the full 48 hours for them to work, as now the wee one's lungs will be so much healthier and stronger if they do insist on making early travel plans. Are you set on names just in case? Did the docs give you any advice on stuff to do / avoid to prevent prem labour? (speaking as someone who's been having contractions / irritable uterus for the last trimester, or so it feels, and is still a bit scared of prem labour).

Oh and row thanks for the tip on child benefit - sods law the very first time in my life I'd actually be in line for receiving benefits rather than just paying a shed load of tax, and lo and behold I don't think we'll be getting anything - DH earns mid £50s k? So would that be tapered or no child benefit?

... I just hope this one stays put until their due date so I can at least claim MA. If they turn up early I won't have done enough freelancing in this tax year. Arse....

applepieinthesky · 29/09/2012 16:24

Glad the drip done its job jaylee. Must have been a worrying time.

FatimaLovesBread · 29/09/2012 16:29

Oh YW now you're scaring me about birthing this huge baby!
If it carries in at the same centile growth it's looking like 9lb-9lb 5oz Shock It's got to be a boy at that weight surely?! If I put on 0.5lb a week from now it's still looking at a late 8lber! I'm hoping it's an over-estimate.

How scary Jaylee Glad you've had the steroids and things look to have stopped for now. Fingers crossed it waits a bit longer.

We've finally finished the nursery. We're still waiting on the lampshade but I'll rant about that later. Going to put some pictures up I the fb group

jaylee89 · 29/09/2012 16:41

ive been told not to do anything to vigorous. im 34 weeks tomorrow.
had big bit of mucus plug come away on monday then 5 hours later started having painful contractions every 6 mins apart mother and DH marched me to labour ward and it was a bit of a blur from there to be honest was very rushed and scary. been having period pains all morning and yet again more mucus plug and havent done anything inpractical. i just hope nothing kicks off this evening i want her to be as healthy as possible before she makes her entrance.
YW if you just dont feel right and feel like soemthing is wrong please ring the LW as they said to me they want people to come in to be checked even if nothing is wrong and dont ever want people to feel like they are nagging (as this is what i thought i would be doing if i rang) im glad mother pushed me to ring them otherwise god knows what could have happened.

YellowWellies · 29/09/2012 16:51

Don't worry Jaylee I've been getting extra 4 weekly scans since I was 28 weeks to make sure the hatch is still closed! Baby is quieter but still moving lots - if I lie still I tend to feel ten movements in less than 15 minutes - but they are just more bum shuffles, the odd leg stretch and ticklish finger wiggles now rather than the big kicks of a fortnight ago.

Fatima don't worry - I was only stressing due to family history of big nigh on ten pounder+ babas who like to lie transverse during labour. My DH's Dad was 13lb - so I was very relieved to hear we don't seem to be following that trend.... 9lber much more common these days.

Tiago · 29/09/2012 16:54

MM1 is is always always always worth getting these things checked. Don't feel silly.

daisy congratulations on your little boy.

tits and fatima I can join you in the severely pained club. DH actually got kicked out of bed and sent to the spare room last night because I now need the whole bed on which to build my pillow fort. I keep just trying to remember there's only 5 weeks to go (while hoping she can't wait beyond bother two...)

Sophiathesnowfairy · 29/09/2012 16:59

yw yes, go and get a check from your lurvely Orkeny midwives if things are not as normal. Midwife and scan says the baby is Left Occupant Anterior, so that can only be good, right?

YellowWellies · 29/09/2012 17:33

Yes that's the best / one of the best positions for baby to be in! Awesome Grin. Don't worry will do - don't feel that anything is wrong, am just noticing their movements change as the room lessens I think. Still getting lots of movement

kirrinIsland · 29/09/2012 17:48

Glad all is well jaylee make sure you take it easy.

nervous it seems we are all thinking of you and hoping to hear from you soon. Xx

MissMummy1 · 29/09/2012 17:52

How scary jaylee. Fc little one stays put for a while longer!

I am so glad I went in this morning. Although thankfully it was nothing serious it has been the massive wake up call that I need to slow down. Had a lovely afternoon chilling with my mum and now home to find my handsome man is finally home and has hoovered the whole house and is tidying the garage - result!

I'm meant to be going round to a friends for dinner and mocktails tonight. Still unsure on whether to cancel or not, but she's only a 15min drive away and I'm sure she wont mind me leaving early and after this morning's dramas I have done NOTHING
