Tramp, glad you got in your house! Sorry to whoever has sinus issues. I got my amino result which was fine! Yeah! But have had diahrerra for last 2 days! Not so yeah. Apparently since I have no temperature all will be fine but it is literally shitty! I am hoping I get a break from illness soon. To the lady who got the redundancy letter that stinks. I am sure you will get lots of good advice but you definitely want them to explain how any scoring was done and why you were selected. Hoping you get a good result .... Of to the loo again (tmi..)

eigmum · 14/10/2012 12:44

Oh and definately stay away from people with contagious stuff bring sick and pregnant is awful. Maybe take a few days off or spray her with hand gel!

theTramp · 14/10/2012 12:52

I lend my voice to the steer clear of infitigo woman. I've had it in past it's stupidly contagious and really not pleasant. Antibiotics help but with baby Id suggest having word with Uni about health & safety of someone with infitigo attending classes

OP posts:
JoJoBella84 · 14/10/2012 13:51

Hmmmm, I've stocked up on hand gel!! I've emailed the Uni but as she hasn't told me herself that she has it (her flat mate called - also a course colleague) I can't name names to them! She hasn't been in touch with the Uni so their hands are a bit tied, they don't act on hearsay!!! Just need to avoid contact tomorrow :) shouldn't be a problem, I'm not a touchy feely person anyway but wasn't sure if its a case of I can catch it if I've touched a pen she's touched kind of infection!!!
Clearly over thinking this!!
manda I do have a dissertation tutor, I'm meeting with her tomorrow but other than knowing I'm doing a 10 thousand word lit review and my subject is paediatrics I don't know anything else!!! I've missed all of the lectures due to the surgery and recovery so I'm spending today looking at such wide spread research trying to find gaps etc!!! My proposal is due on 2nd November and I don't know where to start!! I really hope she can point me in the right direction!!!

JoJoBella84 · 14/10/2012 13:53

Ooh on the plus side I'm now day two of no pain relief. Very mildly sore but not enough to warrant paracetamol so I'm really happy with myself!

Em2010 · 14/10/2012 14:34

Hello Everyone! Just a very very quick post...

TESCO ARE SELLING TOFFEE APPLES!!<
you might not hear from me for the next 6 weeks.....

Sheldonella · 14/10/2012 14:47

Afternoon everyone! Thanks for the messages about paracetamol yesterday. I let DH make me a boots lemsip style drink this morning. I couldn't manage it all because it tasted awful but it must have helped a bit as I snagged to get out of bed afterwards. Does anyone else find that colds and the like take longer to get over? This as been coming on since Wednesday and I'm not getting better.

Something lovely just happened - we think DH felt a little kick from DD today :) I can't be sure but it was in the right place. Does it seem possible at 19 weeks?

How many of you have discussed maternity leave with work? My boss hasn't asked me anything at all but I think I should probably start planning it.

Jojo I do like some BBT names actually :) I think Leonard is great but DH wasn't convinced. Yay for not needing the painkillers now, sounds like you are healing up nicely. The hand gel sounds like a good idea.

eigmum great news on the amino.

Right, off to start thinking about a Sunday roast. I've been craving one all week!

TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 15:00

sheldonella it's possible. I felt dc4 from the outside yesterday & I'm only 18 weeks tomorrow.
Re mat leave I've discussed it due to the fact I'll be going earlier than most people and the fact my work is having to be altered quite a bit now.

JoJoBella84 · 14/10/2012 16:01

Eeeeeeek, bought my pram :) second hand, immaculate 'as new' condition. Less than 6 months old. £100 thank you very much :)
Saves me £270 on the plain black, brand new one :)

ThreeForTea · 14/10/2012 16:03

Hello, hope Sunday is going well for everyone. I'm having a self imposed rest day today, not doing anything. The do's last night were ok, was probably bit much to go to both though! I've got various things to watch on Netflix, and dd is with my mum, dad and dh so she's happy and elsewhere. I do feel like going out or shopping or something but have just come to terms with the fact that unless I give myself some catch up i'm bound to come down with something within a couple of days.

Gummi my arm is still horribly bruised, like i've been punched!

shel def finding that its taking me ages to get over stuff, and I seem to be getting everything going.

With mat leave have just arranged with my boss that we'll meet when I get my matb1 form from midwife, I think its around 24-25weeks. Have told them informally that i'll probably leave end of January/early feb. Was vaguely wondering whether or not it would be a good idea to attempt to potty-train dh in the month before LO comes while i'm home full time. Does that sound crazy? Grin

ThreeForTea · 14/10/2012 16:04

Oh my gosh, obviously potty train dd not dh!! Blush Dh is generally fine!

JoJoBella84 · 14/10/2012 16:20

three I got my MATB1 at 21 weeks. Not even sure I need one but will hand it in to the uni tomorrow.

Potty training in a month? Ouch! It took my nephew about 6 months just to get the bladder part. Hehe to the thought of potty training DH!! Maybe if your DD thinks she's teaching daddy how it's done she would grasp it quickly?!

theTramp · 14/10/2012 16:43

I dread to think how potty training works. I keep trying to wrap my head round it adn failing. I salute you!

So my arm was fine post flu jab yesterday, but sleeping on it hurt and its a bit sore today. Noting bad enough to warrant any problems, but I'll prob sleep on my right rather than left side again tonight (I usually sleep other way round).

JoJo - that does indeed sound like a super bargain. Well done you!

I have no ideas when kicks start to feel - so couldn't say. But if the thought is it was felt then I think go with it. Who is to say you are wrong?

My work is going quite smoothly today, so feeling better about it all. The joys of a productive day. I have even managed to do two lots of washing adn make a sausage casserole which will be ready for consumption when MrM arrives home, which should be in the next hour - hurrah! The house smells delicious right now :)

Right I must away to work again. Glad everyone seems to be having just the sort of sunday they should and that cold sufferers are feeling a bit better. I agree it seems that the wellness process is taking longer. I am finding fact that I can now eat more green veg and still nicely topped up on iron thanks to the pregnacare is helping.

By the way, anyone taking fish oils (not cod liver oil)? I hear it is v good for brain development, so am tempted but just wondered if anyone else was doing so and if so a brand recommendation. If not Boots and what ever is on offer it is... :)

TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 17:00

three how old is dd? Or how old will she be? Children often regress when a new sibling is born.
Dd3 is potty training at the moment. She tried( decided herself) about 2 months ago but wasn't ready, she has a lot of nappy free time though & has used the potty but not reliably until yesterday. No accidents this weekend (again her own instigation) yet and she only wore a nappy last night for bed.

GummiberryJuice · 14/10/2012 18:24

Potty training is the one thing I always say wait until they are ready all three of my dcs were trained in a week, bed times included, the 2 girls were 2 and ds was 3,he also had to go naked bottom down for first 2days, the girls went straight into pants.

Tramp I took fish oils with dd2 eye q baby or something like that
equazen that's it, they have a range for different stages

pinkpeony4 · 14/10/2012 18:34

My two older boys were 3 when I potty trained them and they picked it up really quickly, a matter of days so I think it was worth waiting. They showed zero signs of being ready but I just went for it. Good luck!

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend. I felt this baby move from the outside today which was v lovely. My fab au pair looked after the boys from 7-10 so we could have a rare lie in, baby was moving loads. Probably because I could focus on my bump and not be racing around after the others! 20 + 2 now, can't quite believe I am half way well as long as this one isn't 8 days late like two of his brothers

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 14/10/2012 18:45

God potty training. It has taken us months. We started when DD was about 2.2 under nursery's guidance and I really wish we had waited a bit. Think we gave finally cracked day times, but still nowhere near at night.

Had an ok weekend with the ILs. They just unintentionally wind me up A LOT. And I don't think all these pregnancy hormones are helping with my emotional state! Grin

Hope you're all ok and getting over all these horrible cold etc. I am bunged up and sneezy most of the time at the mo, but spry from that am ok.

The three of us are snuggled on the sofa watching 'rio' for the zillionth time. Anything to keep DD happy, poor thing is so miserable today.

TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 18:52

Dd1 was 2 1/2 , Dd2 was 20 months and dd3 was 2 last week. All three instigated it but they've all had lots of nappy free time and dd2/3 both had potty around from little ( dd3 used to wee before every bath so waited for her bath sat on a potty).
I don't think it should just be sprung on them , I see it a lot at work with 3-4 year olds that have it thrust on them because professionals have intervened( needed to but if lots of cases they've actually got past the easy point and got used to nappies) not sure that made sense

TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 18:53

Wet beds at night are seen as normal until 7 due to the need for hormonal help. Dd1 was 3 and dd2 was 10 ( but has other issues).

DoodleBugBee · 14/10/2012 19:14

Super quick post: bubbly fluttery tummy and (whispers) we had a low risk result for DS screening. Unbelievably relieved. Hope all are cooking well, enjoying the Autumn and here's to a cracking week xx

lannyshrops · 14/10/2012 20:12

Hey all!
Lovely to hear all your news this week. I will miss tiddley hope you pop by regularly lovely lady xx

emus Congratulations on the move!! Take it easy though love x I know how hard this is! The orangery and extention is progressing at a snail pace. chefette Ihave a wet suit.....(probably not helpful but maybe I raised a smile for a second in what must be a horrid, horrid situation x)

Manda HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Iam so pleased you had a lovely time in Paris and had it topped off with kicks, yippiee! Oh, and congratulations on the book. I have to say, I am in awe of your abilty to maintain enthusiasm and dedicaion long enough to produce one! I struggledto maintain any with my degree dissertation which must be like Janet and John in comparison!

love to all x

zoeymlucas · 14/10/2012 21:00

Loving the pram jojo it's very smart and looks brand new, it's so exciting when you start getting the big things :)

I went to DH nephews party and played nicely, lol!!!!! His crazy mother was there so we both just ignored her totally, she watched DS2 the whole time but he was not interested as he has no clue who she is but she didn't over step the mark which was good- she spoke to him when he was near her but didn't touch or pick him up which was good as it wouldn't of ended well! I know it sounds harsh but she really is nuts and took us to court for access and they demanded a mental health assessment on her after she set fire to my DH baby photos outside my front door with both children in the house even brought her own bin for fire amount a MILLION other things! DH said he was proud of me, lol- I am a fiery little Irish one, lol!!!!!

Also is anyone else hungry like all the blinking time, my sickness has gone and all I want to do is eat I have stuffed my face ALL day can't resist party food and am still hungry!

lannyshrops · 14/10/2012 21:38

I am ALWAYS hungry zoe I have three breakfasts! It's seriously unfunny! Have you noticed too that healthy food just does not fill the hole?!
(MIL nightmare btw! Which I guess is the understatement of the year if not century!)

TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 21:58

I have days when I ravenous and says where I m not interested.

zoeymlucas · 14/10/2012 22:02
