Oh shelly Sad Thanks

ShellyBobbs · 22/09/2012 07:33

My hairiest baby was my son, he was born with the most hair I have ever seen on a baby, he even had a Friar Tuck thing going on and it was sooooo thick, I didn't suffer at all with heartburn with him. Both my girls had the same amount of thick black hair, only heartburn with the first and I've suffered really badly with this one too. So I'd say it was a load of rubbish, it has been in my case anyway.

Miss Mummy I think I'd go round the bend if my hubby was at home with me for 6 weeks, blimey, I'd definitely try to get him to take at least half of it before the baby is born :)

Sophia I think I remember that coach crash, horrible, horrible!

It's just turning into a right shitty place to live. I wouldn't mind, but when he gunned down that family in the pub I was in work the next day, and Droylsden is the community I work in, I can't escape the one eyed little fucker! Then that bloody Shipman, Moors murders, the frigging EDL were here a few months ago...... makes you wonder. Funnily enough 2 weeks ago hubby and I were having the annual chat about 'the move to Cornwall', something we have both wanted to do for the past 12 years but been too chicken to do due to our jobs. Things like this certainly prioritise things, but our 12 year old got really upset as she has a massive load of friends round here. Oh what to do..........

ShellyBobbs · 22/09/2012 07:35

I wish it was November, I am so ready to give birth NOW!

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/09/2012 07:44

Apparently the bloke who was responsible was in my hometown on the morning before travelling up there, evil scum he is.

horsey hope you're ok :)

Iheartpasties · 22/09/2012 07:47

shelly Cornwall is a wonderful place to live, but wow, decent jobs are as rare as rocking horse shite :)

ValiumQueen · 22/09/2012 07:48

Me too shelly fed up now. Grr. Going to sodding ikea today. Just what I need. DH is working this morning so I take him in, look after kids, collect him, drive there and back and pay for the stuff. It is only the hot cinnamon buns that I am doing it for.

Iheartpasties · 22/09/2012 08:09

oh Ladies, I have just been reading a funny funny thread from classics - it just made me all warm and fuzzy picturing hundreds of women all around the world reading and sharing and laughing together, shelly your post did bring a tear to my eye and I think thats why I love mumsnet - it does bring us all together. Sorry bit soppy. heres the linky in case anyone wants to giggle at poo etc www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/a1439461-I-pooed-on-my-skirt-at-work-today

Sophiathesnowfairy · 22/09/2012 08:45

Ha ha. That has cheered my day up pasties Grin

horseylady · 22/09/2012 08:55

Yeah I'm ok just fed up with dh. Will hopefully speak to him today it tomorrow about it. I asked him if he wanted me to move out. Having been at work 7 am to 930pm and him ignoring me on coming home. Anyway, I didn't finish what I wanted to say as I just cried!! Plus he's dragging his feet over another issue. He's only like this when his dads around but I don't know how he's going cope with a baby throw into the mix?! So I just cried upstairs on my own!!

Shelly - it's so sad ESP living so close :( such a horrid thing to happen:( I just don't understand some people I really don't. But to drive past it daily must be even worse :(

Breast feeding class today!!

Iheartpasties · 22/09/2012 09:17

horsey oh dear, doesnt sound too good. I hope you get to clear the air a bit with your dh, its not nice that you were crying.

ValiumQueen · 22/09/2012 09:28

Sorry to hear that horsey hope he gives you the reassurance you need and deserve x

Going to buy a changing table at Ikea today. DH has his heart set on it and it will be handy to keep baby out of the way of our helpful 2yo.

detective I think I am more interested to hear the weight of your baby than mine! I also have only about 4lb weight gain since conception. About 8lb went on between 29 and 32 weeks, but none since. Baby over 6lb on monday. Have you had any growth scans at all, as you were thinking he was a bit of a tiddler. Do you still think that?

Had my flu jan invite through for 15th Oct, so 10 days before D Day. Is that leaving it a bit late? I am going to ask MW this week. I would rather have it sooner tbh.

MissMummy1 · 22/09/2012 10:04

Men are crap horsey. I think I freaked mine out a little last night when I burst into tears in front of him for no reason. (I never cry). I'm just so fed up of feeling useless and worrying he thinks i am useless - he doesnt, I just hate having to rely on him for stuff I used to do myself.

Shelly I can't begin to imagine how awful that is for you. Hugs.

Swanning round the house this morning in my less than flattering pre pregnancy shorty jammies. Thought all the blinds were closed. Forgot patio doors don't have blinds. Forgot it's the saturday our gardner comes. Look up and see some old pervert looking in while he cuts the grass. Modesty gone.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 22/09/2012 10:33

All of you you are not crap you are wonderful and very busy making a whole new life. We get so involved with it and men are slightly detached from it, but usually have a massive moment of realisation on birth. It's good to have a cry but don't get stuck into a downwards spiral of low self esteem. You are great. Find a girlie friend to pop out with who will tell you how fab you are.

Lots of hugs.

StuntNun · 22/09/2012 10:35

Hee hee MM you probably made his day!

I am aggrieved atm after watching OBEM where Lucy's epidural wasn't working and they resited it four times to try and get it to work. When I was on the syntocin drip with DS1 the epidural wasn't effective, if anything it seemed to concentrate the pain on one side and had no effect on the other. The useless horrible midwife had me lying on my side to try and get it to work but I was in an awful state with irregular unpredictable contractions on the highest dose of syntocin. 10 years later I find out they could have tried resiting the epidural? Why the hell didn't they try that? I ended up bleeding, DS1 nearly didn't make it, I had an EMCS under GA and was completely traumatised, ending up with PND! Then in labour with DS2 on the feckin' drip again because they wherein a hurry, I wasn't coping well with the pain but didn't even contemplate an epidural because 'it didn't work last time'. Wouldn't have made any difference as I still ended up with an episiotomy/ventouse delivery. Now I don't know what to think, whether I could have an epidural with this one if they decide to put me on the syntocin again.

horseylady · 22/09/2012 10:40

Vq I would probably try to move it. Though it's a live vaccine so your body should respond fairly quickly to it, obv it's the recovery time should your body not fight sufficiently! You want to go into your section healthy not recovering from flu!!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 22/09/2012 10:40

I'm going on my very first get ready for baby retail therapy today which will mainy involve buying things for moi! I haven't bout many maternity clothes as i know that toward the end:

I will get fed up with wearing the stuff I have, however much I have and...
the weather will change

So am going to get a couple of outfits, a couple of loose breast feeding bras for under pjs, stuff for labour bag and maybe a few bits for DS.

Until I unpack all the boxes from DS I don't know what I need for baby but think I Might be ok for the first month or so. Although I will be ordering a Morrck wrap ( if that is what they are called) as good for school runs and when you are in and out of the car.

Am very excited a shopping spree is rare! Grin

mismummy I bet you have made the gardener's dayWink

Sophiathesnowfairy · 22/09/2012 10:41

What channel is everyone watching these OBEM on?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 22/09/2012 10:42

I will shut up now and go and do my chores.

kirrinIsland · 22/09/2012 10:45

shelly it must be awful to be where you are right now - it's hard enough seeing it on the news everyday :(

DH I saw that on the news, wonder what he was doing all the way down here?

horsey hope you are ok and that a good chat with your DH can sort things out.

I am wishing it was November too - seems like a long way off. My house is decending into chaos but I just can't seem to get on top of it. What it's going to be like when the baby is here I dread to think. And DP won't hear of a cleaner :(

horseylady · 22/09/2012 10:46

Thanks for your words!! He's fine we've spoken, he spoke to his dad who constantly needs reminding our situation etc. I just hate the fact that it makes dh so stressed!!!

There were other reasons for the tears it just built up in my head!! Plus I think I must be having another bloody hormone surge!!

Right must break up the fight between boy cat and puppy dog, then walk both dogs before puppy dog loses both her eyes......

Iheartpasties · 22/09/2012 10:52

horsey more often than not for me it is definitely the hormones. I get very worked up and upset and teary and huff and puff and then I'm not always sure whay I am so upset! I am happy as I have had a level week this week and it has felt nice to feel 'normal' and not overly worked up at everything.

I have won two babygates on eBay, oopsie dont tell dh will you?! I'm sure they will be very very handy, just got to think why I was bidding on them!! :P

ValiumQueen · 22/09/2012 10:58

sophia thank you for that lovely post Smile enjoy your shopping trip, and tell us every tinxy winxy little detail!

horsey I agree. I need to be fit for the section. Glad you and your man have talked. These hormone surges are hideous.

stunt my first epidural worked on only one side. They did not believe me. I believe I said something like 'would I f***g joke about this? They then gave me a spinal while they resisted the epidural. It was fine after that. I think you deserve an epidural this time. You have had your fair share of pain and trauma IMO. I also had the drip, and it is vicious! If labour starts gradually you have a chance to gradually build to things, but when it hits you like a train it is very hard and very frightening.

ValiumQueen · 22/09/2012 11:00

Two baby gates will be used. We have one at the top of the stairs and bottom, one on the kitchen, and one on DD2s bedroom which will go on the nursery around Christmas.

horseylady · 22/09/2012 11:04

Pasty - I think work has been horrid this week as 4 of my colleagues have been downbanded which means a £6k pay cut. I was nearly crying talking to them yesterday it's just the worst situation ever!! We still don't know which 4, will find out Monday (though they were called last night).

Then dh was in a grump because of his dad, which is fine but ultra sensitive hormonal woman (which I'm not my usual response would have been oh dear, ok well it'll be ok - not right I think it's better if I move out you're clearly not coping with everything and I'm obviously adding to this). Whoops. I think as mm said, it's just feeling vulnerable. Everything is changing, I'm struggling to do stuff myself, not working and money is starting to play on my mind and now, not tired etc. I can see I'm being completely irrational with the initial thoughts!! Something far more important is happening.

Just after a 14 hour shift, knackered blah blah blah I was not thinking straight!!

ValiumQueen · 22/09/2012 11:08

horsey is the pay not protected? I was recently down banded due to service redesign. Everyone except me was allowed to apply for the new posts and those who were unsuccessful still have the same pay. My contract was worded slightly different. Bastards! I was upset about the pay, but it is the power I miss Grin
