I would imagine I'll be the first to post here for a little while - I just found out today.

Look forward to hearing for you soon Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kgraham · 21/04/2006 18:36

thanks cupcakes...yes, I've got some of the other symptoms. I was beginning to feel a bit worried.

Not had widening legs and bum though...had those to start with!

Bloo · 21/04/2006 19:10

Does that mean my legs and bum will narrow again Grin

spinamum · 21/04/2006 19:50

my bum narrowed for a while til i started weaning ds then i found myself eating a lot of high cheese based foods(cos i can't be bothered to cook two lunches). I'm now "stuck" a stone heavier than i was at start of 1st pg and i'm eating for four at moment.(my appetite never diminishes and i fight ms and fatigue with food.)

spinamum · 21/04/2006 19:56

..oh by the way, kgraham, hasn't your poor hubby realised that, with all those hormones flying about, touching those boobies could be the end of him.

the boobie thing was my big sign i was/still was pg 1st time.

now i think as they're not as pert as pre baby there's a bit more, ahem, give in them and they're not as sore this time.

lucy5 · 21/04/2006 20:59

Hello all, still feeling foul but havent thrown up for 2 days, so that's good.

spinamum · 22/04/2006 08:04

congrats on not throwing up, lucy5.

i've woken up really early(very odd for me) feeling yuk. i managed to stay in bed for a few hours telling myself i'd drop back off, but I didn't.

I swore if I ever got preggers again I would take every oppotunity to sleep and here I am MNing cos I can't even talk to the 2.5er about little sister/brother yet.

Those of you with an older child, when do you think is a good time to share the news? I don't want to do it too early in case of the worst, but on the other hand, he needs some explaination for my lack of energy and if the dreaded ms comes, he'll suss something is up (although i doubt he'll suspect pregnacy. I may think he's a child genius, but even I have some preception on reality!) Real reason however for telling him is that he's a great age and i can't wait for the comments and questions about baby.

Have a good weekend. Once DH arises, I'll have to stop the MNing because he likes his missus to talk to him and listen properly rather that nod and go "mmm, yeah.....sounds like a good idea....whatever you want to do... what are we talking about again.sorry..wasn't concentrating."

cupcakes · 22/04/2006 08:18

I waited to tell ds (almost 6) and dd (just 3) and as I then found out I'd had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks it was the best decision ever. We had planned to tell him after the scan. Ds was quite happy with the explanation of 'mummy's got a poorly tummy' for why I was in bed so much and daddy taking him to school.
Am so glad I spared him having to understand what had happened. (dd came to the fateful scan with us but didn't understand what it was all about. She was blissfully oblivious. But I don't think ds would have taken the truth very well).

cupcakes · 22/04/2006 08:30

so basically I am not telling this time either! Till I've at least had a scan and got past 12 weeks.

lucy5 · 22/04/2006 09:30

My dd is 5 and im not telling her until I've had the scan either.

Bloo · 22/04/2006 14:26

I think I might be feeling less pregant, as in same symptoms but much less - sore boobs, queasey, tired etc - should I be worried??? I'm 7 weeks.

lucy5 · 22/04/2006 16:09

I spoke to soon, I've thrown up again.
I wouldnt be worried about lessening symptoms yet, I had very few with dd. give it a few days and you'll be throwing up with me.

Debbsy · 22/04/2006 18:06

Bloo i wouldnt worry lots of people keep telling me symptoms come and go.Like me this is normally my af now butas 8 weeks pg but got really bad backache and stretchy feelings is this normal?

cupcakes · 23/04/2006 10:37

I've read that for the first couple of months you can experience period type symptoms at the time your period would normally have been due.
I've been getting slight backache for the past couple of weeks which does feel like a period starting (except I wouldn't have felt it for so long without a period starting normally). I hope this is just an early pg symptom.
I was awake a lot last night with tight pulling sensation across abdomen - I think this was my ligaments starting to stretch.

lennied · 23/04/2006 11:26

Hi everyone,

I am due 26th December - one day after you spinamum! Am very excited about possibly cuddling up with a winter baby, but not getting too excited just yet.

So far have got sore boobs and feel a little naseous, although not too bad really - have found that Sainsburys taste the difference highland shortbread does the trick!! Also am being slovenly in my trackies cos can't bear anything pressing on my bloated stomach. Think I am going to be a windy city of my own for the next 8 months! Have never been a burpy person but alien in my tummy seems to like making me burp, particulalry at night! Husband finds it very amusing.

Good luck everyone.

cupcakes · 23/04/2006 11:34

at least you're not farting...

Debbsy · 23/04/2006 12:01

cupcakes your the same as me then same sort of fellings.
When is your baby due?

cupcakes · 23/04/2006 13:04

I don't have a date yet as I didn't have a period to date from. But guessing from possible conception I could be due 21-23rd Dec. So just 5 weeks.

spinamum · 23/04/2006 15:00

dh and i have decided to wait til after 20wk scan (or whenever it is these days in my area)before we tell big brother. we haven't even told our folks yet.

my symptoms are coming and going and neither dh or i can remember how pg i felt last time. oh the waiting game!!

lennied, how are you feeling about the possibility of hospital turkey sandwiches? i doubt i'll be anywhere near my due date, so i'm expecting a 2007 babe. it would be lovely if i was on time.

lennied · 23/04/2006 17:23

I would really like a New Year baby. My husband hates New Year with a passion and I think it would be nice for him to celebrate his child's birthday around then instead of dreading the usual round of New Year celebrations. But, these things can't be planned really can they! As for the turkey spinamum, I don't think my local hospital gives you anything so it'll be bring-your-own xmas dinner. At least I'll have a good excuse not to have the entire family round for Christmas, will be nice to have a quiet Christmas!!! Yeah right!

As for preggie symptoms, I can't decide what's what either. Have had a bit of stomach pain - not cramping but discomfort and a bit of nausea. I'm sure it will all get worse before it gets better though.

We haven't told anyone yet either, keep trying to tell husband's parents but just can't find the right moment or words. My Mum had a stillbirth a few years ago at full term - it was very traumatic and I think she would still like to have had another child, so I don't think I will be able to tell her until we've had a scan and are out of the woods for m/c. Don't really know what to say to her either. Off for tea with my parents-in-law today though so maybe we'll get round to breaking the news!

cupcakes · 24/04/2006 10:29

I hope my baby comes before Christmas. I have a friend whose birthday is just after new year and I think she gets overlooked and a bit forgotton. People rarely seem in the mood for celebrating another thing after christmas and new year. And they have no money left.

MINNIE1 · 24/04/2006 13:54

Hi all ,

Trying to catch up and its not working!

Oinker Proyaffle and Bambi so sorry, its a horrible time.

I had bleeding last week but thankfully bubs is doing fine. I went stright to A&E and i was givin a scan and there was a heartbeat. So i am thanking the stars all s well. I have had 2 since and still bubs is holding on.
Its worring to know i am having 2 babys under 2 but its worse again to feel i am loosing one.

Morning sickness is doing nicly! i dont think i was this sick when i was expecting DD. Boobs are getting bigger! Tired all the time but that could be down to DD.

The Best Friend Guide's To Pregnancy is a brill book to read i think cupcakes recommened it. I read that when i was expecting DD and found it good and no bulls&%t.

cupcakes · 24/04/2006 13:57

glad to hear the scans were positive. How many weeks are you?
I think you'll have a nice gap - easier than getting out of the swing of baby things and starting again. Plus in a couple of years they'll be able to play together and that really frees up time for you. Smile

tassis · 24/04/2006 15:09

cupcakes, just to say Hi from the girls on the September thread. So pleased for you!

MINNIE1 · 24/04/2006 15:12

Hi cupcakes,
I am 8+2 and DD is 15 weeks so that makes 2 under 1. I really dont mind now got a shock at the start but what the heck just have to get on with it. Even though this is no2 wont tell anyone till 12 weeks and after as you just never know. O and on top of it all my belly never had a chance to go down so i look about 3 months pregnant!!! lol

I thought i was or would be 9 wks now but scan says different. Have you booked scans etc?

Olihan · 24/04/2006 15:23

Hi everyone, I'm 5 and a bit weeks with #3. Due Christmas eve by my reckoning. Am already feeling exhausted (probably more to do with ds 2.4 and dd 7 mo tho!) and feeling queasy. Didin't have morning sickness with first 2 so hoping I'll be as lucky again. Have told our families and close friends - our reasoning is that if anything happens we'd tell them anyway and use them as support.
Am really excited to be pg again, also nervous but love being pg and it's nice not to be panicking about every tiny twinge and niggle this time.

Congratulations to evryone else, here's a glass of sparkling water to the next 8 months!! Smile
