Are we having a hormonal day ladies?! I think my hormones are playing havoc with me at the moment anyway!

DP took DS to school for me this morning, so I could have a lie in. I don't feel any better for it though, as I just wanted to stay in bed forever! And when I did get up there was a letter re: Council Tax demanding payment in full. Feel slightly better as I was able to contain my hormones for the phone call and point out that they can't demand payment when they have repeatedly failed to set up the direct debit I have asked for. They agreed. Well how about not sending ridiculous demands then....! Hmmmm.

I have now got my final working day sorted. I will finish 14th October. Been waiting for the extra shifts to come out, and got a phone call today. I've taken 10 shifts for the start of October, plus have extra shifts the last week in September. Coupled with my annual leave payment, I should have accumilated almost a months pay. I also have half a months pay saved. So I have enough for 6 weeks should we not have to dip in to it during mat. leave. Fingers crossed I maybe able to delay going back by a month, either from a combination of mat leave or annual leave.

I only have 6 official shifts left to work now. Which feels good! After that it is down to me, if it gets too much, then i'll stop.

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/09/2012 16:13

Back from the consultant, in being checked for pre eclampsia, they've done emergency bloods on my liver and kidneys and I'm waiting at home feeling rough for them to call with the results.

No way in a zillion years can I stay in hospital until delivery though so fingers crossed I don't have it.

Baby is fine though, measuring spot on for dates and chilling out nicely in a good position

Peaky1 · 14/09/2012 16:15

YellowWellies - What was the name of that website you go on to decipher your kicks and positioning again? Cheers

Evilwater · 14/09/2012 16:22

I'm sorry to hear all of you are having a awful time, here have a Brew. As for mangers/supervisors, there is a reason why they get promoted out of the way. To the lady in hospital, I hope everything goes well.

men, they are a werid bunch. My DP is loving my preggo body, I just wish I had the same view. It's ok, but getting about is getting difficult.

My day has been good, MIL off to London, YAY! Then my mum said I had some post at her house, first it was my replacement savings book. GrinGrin second was £25 for my premium bond, apparently I've had it since I was born. Confused.

I've looked in to Savings for the bump, the first xmas and birthday we are going to ask for money. I know people will give us stuff, but anything to help with future costs. Every bank so far has said I need to wait till its born, Envy. Wow who knew! the savings rate sucks for children. So we will open a savings account and but it in there.

I'm enjoying my time off, I just need the energy to do all the things that need doing.

Passmethecrisps · 14/09/2012 16:52

Right, enough! I keep catching up and thinking of all the things I wants to say then giving up as there is so much. I need to speak!

daisy I am really sorry about you being in hospital. I canno imagine how much it must suck. You must be so worried as well.

horsey good for the piggies!

VQ your manager sounds like a total arse

peaky it was spinning babies

MM eat what you want when you want. It's his job to help you feel well in all ways. Not make you feel like a child being bullied

GT I hope you and DH sort it out. He needs to be much more
Considerate

Dh gosh, been there. Beans on toast?

Passmethecrisps · 14/09/2012 16:53

tits that sounds poop. What is the plan? Do you know yet?

YellowWellies · 14/09/2012 16:54

Hormone tastic on here isn't it? I count myself in there too. Think the house selling malarky and not knowing where I'll give birth and bring junior home to isn't helping either. Sigh only 6 days til we go to closing.

Thank god DH is cooking tea tonight, we've got a DVD and chill out planned and some becks blue.... ahhh

Oh tits - hope you've not got pre-eclampsia - not with a brood to look after :(

Evil The best savings rate we've found without being a high risk (like some of the banks in Dubai and India which are offering great rates but would terrify me that they might go all Iceland....) are from First Direct - ok an adult account but if you have a current account with them they're offering 8%. Our house deposit once it sells (fingers, toes, eyes and legs crossed) will be going in there whilst we rent for a bit and find somewhere we like to buy down in Fife or Edinburgh. Even quite tempted by Stirling as DH could be working in both Edinburgh and Glasgow with his new client contract... I do love the Ochils. Wouldn't be as handy for family but we're thinking about it say when the bellydweller hits 6 months. I'm still thinking Fife is most likely.

Peaky the website is called spinning babies - here's the link to mapping your kicks to trying to figure out their position: www.spinningbabies.com/baby-positions/belly-mapping

TheDetective · 14/09/2012 16:58

I have the MIL coming for tea. I'm sat here in my PJ's. Tea has not been started.

Must move arse....

Evilwater · 14/09/2012 17:01

The detective what have you got for tea?
Evil

TheDetective · 14/09/2012 17:02

Chilli, with tortillas and mozarella to melt on top. Gorrrrrrrrgeous!

Evilwater · 14/09/2012 17:04

Ohh, can I come? I'd be happy to help.

TheDetective · 14/09/2012 17:14

Yes, of course! If you wouldn't mind getting me dressed :P

And brushing my hair.

Putting my make up on.

And making tea.

Grin
DesperateHousewife21 · 14/09/2012 17:44

pass not far off! I've found chips, hash browns, onion rings and 4 fish fingers in the freezer. Going to do those with some scrambled egg and beans. Bit random bit it'll do!

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/09/2012 17:52

They've called to say my bloods are slightly raised but not enough to panic, just to take it easy and watch like a gawk for headaches/swelling/pain.

I feel like poo, got 20 little boys to entertain tomorrow. Joy. Confused

MissMummy1 · 14/09/2012 18:21

After 3 hours of fizzing I came home. Thank god he wasn't called out...

He's not bothered at all about me putting on weight. That was never the issue, apparently he loves my new pregnant body Hmm. APPARENTLY he's just worried that what I eat will affect junior. Fecking SIL filling his head with horror stories. He's agreed to back off anyway. And I'm being taken out for a chinese buffet for tea "to prove how sorry he is for being a twat" -his words, not mine. My dramatic teenage-stylie strop was clearly enough to make him see sense - ladies with ignorant dickheads as other halves, follow suit!

On the plus side, we also have a carseat now will maybe save telling him it's on his credit card till tomorrow.... Boots have a baby travel event on and with the £25 off voucher you get when you sign up for their parenting club, the maxicosi cabriofix cost just £85. Plus a tenner's worth of points for me! I got it in red if anyone's interested. Smile

MissMummy1 · 14/09/2012 18:27

DH21 we have been known to have very similar meals come the end of the month.

Tits take care. Glad they're not too worried about it.

Detective I have a patronising mw and I'm not even in the profession! Can understand how annoyed you must be. It's not like you don't know what you're talking about. Stick to your guns. and try not to take it out on MIL like I would!

YW I heard Fife is nice. Very nice. Wink

YellowWellies · 14/09/2012 18:36

Wow great deal on the car seat! I wonder if they have our car seat base.

Glad to hear all seems to be sorted. Good call on the hissy fits. Always a useful tool in the arsenal. Am now wishing we had an all you can eat chinese. Or just an even vaguely decent chinese on the island....

DH is cooking pasta with courgette and smoked salmon for tea - one of his regular dishes (bless him he's such a stickler for recipe books rather than throwing stuff together - my style). So I shouldn't really complain.

Clarella · 14/09/2012 19:06

Hi all, I joined your bunch yonks ago then shifted to the Dec lot, then my edd was confirmed as 26th Nov but I was into the chat over on Dec and brain couldn't handle two threads! Hope you don't mind me straddling /lurking/asking silly qs?! Suddenly occurred to me there's potential for baby to come along in 7 or 8 weeks Confused so id better get my head out of the sand! I'm 35, 30 weeks on Monday, dc1, a boy :)

ValiumQueen · 14/09/2012 19:18

Thank you horsey for the horsey info. DD is appreciative, and glad they can lay down.

Got a letter from Tax Credits. They have completely ignored my update two weeks ago and gone on last years income. Twats! So still none the wiser as to how much we will get paid. I just do not understand how people can be so incompetent and get away with it?

Catbag · 14/09/2012 19:20

Hi Clarella and welcome back! I'm impressed that you're going to straddle two threads- I can barely keep up with this one! Mind you, we are a bunch of chatter boxes Grin

ValiumQueen · 14/09/2012 19:23

Welcome back clarella. Straddle away! Another boy! We are quite blessed with boys.

Evilwater · 14/09/2012 20:40

Welcome clarella.

I have my breastfeeding workshop tomorrow, wish me luck. Anyone got any questions they want answering?

I get to drive my dads new car tomorrow Grin

MM1 great news on the car seat.

Yellow, that supper sounds nice. Hmmmm......

VQ - I still have to wrestle with the tax people. My plan is to go to the CAB and get thier advice.

daisychain76 · 14/09/2012 20:52

Hi Clarella. Glad u got checked out so thoroughly tits. Sooo hot on the ward and boring! Vq swollen ankles were my only symptom, so just shows you can never be too careful (tho know 9 out of 10 times that?s harmless). Makes me shudder to think if friends hadn?t nagged l wouldn?t have seen the midwife til nexxt Wednesday. Ds is super excited it?ll probably be a September baby. Dd (5) is struggling more l think. Main concern now seems to be how my kidneys are holding. up. Having toi resist the temptation to google about it...

jaylee89 · 14/09/2012 20:53

well well well you ladies certainly can natter Grin can i just say thank you for keeping me entertained.

well hormones pond was for me yesterday OH is a lazy blob who get a moan on even if i ask him to do the washing up. it pisses me off to the point where i wanna throw something at him sometimes. no wonder my MW just had to put in about domestic violence on our first 15 week appointment! (aiming it at OH that women tend to get aggressive during pregnancy) DAMN RIGHT! its hard growing a child do they not understand this

GTbaby · 14/09/2012 20:54

Luckily H is on night shift. So can avoid him for a few days.

Worried about my belly button, getting very small now, hoping it doesn't pop out.
