Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DesperateHousewife21 · 14/09/2012 09:43

My preg with ds went even slower than this I didn't have a toddler to keep me occupied then plus I wasn't working so literally was sitting around counting the days (was v glad he came early!)

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/09/2012 09:50

I can't bare the thought of going to 42 weeks DS1 was induced on his due date because I begged the dr, i couldn't take anymore and the effect it was having on my MH was beginning to show, plus the stress was sending my BP sky high.

DS2 came all by himself at 36+6 and we'll never know if it was triggered by severe
Sickness from a bad reaction to painkillers or because he had his cord knotted do wasn't getting anything from the placenta. Either way I'm hoping this one comes either on time or slightly early.

32 weeks today. Roll on November!

YellowWellies · 14/09/2012 10:01

Good luck Daisy 34 weekers look huge in the NICU - don't worry!!! he / she will be just fine. If they want to use the emergency exit is sounds as though the docs are taking no chances - which is what you want ultimately isn't it. Good luck hon. I would use this bed-bound hospital time to give serious hints for a kindle / iPad to while away the time Grin

StuntNun · 14/09/2012 10:03

Sorry to hear you're stuck in hospital Daisy it'll be a boring ol' time for you. Do you do cross stitch or crochet or anything to keep you busy? Tell your OH to get you a Kindle (if you haven't already got one) and load it up with books perhaps?

I really want to hear Detective's rant. How can you keep us all in suspense like this Detective?

Right must go do chores before I seize up again. I think I may be getting SPD so I think I need to get things sorted before I stop moving entirely. My physiotherapist warned me that the slipped disc/sciatica/bursitis could lead to SPD back in March but I kind of dismissed that idea. Only now my pelvis hurts at the front and back as well and I was in tears in Tesco yesterday trying to push the trolley back to the car. I probably would have asked someone to help me apart from the fact that the trolley was FULL of beer (for DH needless to say) because it was on special offer and I was too embarrassed! I'm substituting ginger beer for beer at the moment which isn't so bad.

Tits lol at the thought of you smothering DH with your boobs. What a way to go, I bet that would make the papers!

OP posts:
Titsalinabumsquash · 14/09/2012 10:10

My physio said that when it comes to SPD thing like trolleys and hoovers are the devil, they seem simple things to push but will really hurt your pelvic area.

So come on then ladies. 20 little boys, aged 7-8. I have 35 traffic light jellies (extras just in case) what else do I feed them for a party? We get half hour for eating at the venue.

applepieinthesky · 14/09/2012 10:12

Crisps, sandwiches, cocktail sausages, pizza..?

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/09/2012 10:19

We have no facilities to make anything there do everything will be done here then transported in the car.

So far thinking,

Cold pizza slices
Mini sausages
Ham sandwiches
Cheese sandwiches
Token fruit/veg platter Grin
Fairy cakes
Crisps
Chocolate fingers/party rings

That should be enough right?

We'll have birthday cake and party bags full of sweets. Grin

horseylady · 14/09/2012 10:28

I think it's flying by!!!! I only have 4 weeks left at work and then he can arrive at any time!!!

I think when I finish work it'll drag lol!!!

Catbag · 14/09/2012 10:44

Definitely dragging for me. I hate this bit of pregnancy Angry

GTbaby · 14/09/2012 10:57

I think H is going thro one of those pre pregnancy panics and he is basically blaming me for all his issues, n we don't get along, n he doesn't know how this will work, I'm not a good wife, we argue to much ( which I really dot think is true) n just on and on really. Until 5am Sad

Just had two hours sleep, came into work n burst out crying.

He is being selfish n putting his feelings first. N not considering how his "break down" is effecting his son.

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/09/2012 10:58

I've just painted my toe nails. I think this will be the last time with bump because it was damn hard. I'm a beauty therapist and now understand why I get a lot of pregnant ladies coming for pedicures and waxing. Grin

YellowWellies · 14/09/2012 11:05

Oh GT. That is shit and totally unreasonable. All of these fellas acting like spoilt kids have no clue how hard it is to be pregnant. They are going to get a real shock when babies turn up and they try to remain the centre of attention but find that we're too busy dealing with small helpless people to give a rats ass even when they chuck epic tantrums. Big babies or what. Jeez you can see why mother nature decided only the female sex was up to the job of being preggers.

I hope it works itself but don't go crawling and apologising - he's being an arse. Says hormonal pregnant lady fuming because DH went to work without filling the coal scuttle so I have to go out in the rain and gales to do it myself.

YellowWellies · 14/09/2012 11:07

Damnit DH has just pointed out that I was the one using the fire yesterday and perhaps could have told him I'd emptied the scuttle and he'd have happily filled it, but will come home from work and do it now. How do you cope with them when they are being reasonable? It's almost worse.

NervousAt20 · 14/09/2012 11:10

Aw daisy at least your in the best place and they will keep a very close eye on you both! Hope you have something that can help pass the time away for you and rememeber that were always here talking alot Smile

This pregnancy is deffinaty dragging for me! It feels like its been forever. My nerves are actually starting to set in big time now aswell, how the hell am I going to get through labour? I'm such a wuss and have no pain thrash hold at all.

ValiumQueen · 14/09/2012 11:39

YW they are even more bastardly when they are being reasonable! gits!

I arrived on time for meeting to be told manager was not there, neither was HR. I waited, while DD charmed the pants off everyone, and he answered my call half an hour later. He thought meeting was for 11.30 not 10. He would be there soon, which he was. Anyway he said as I am on AL there is no point meeting, and he would have called me if he had known. I said I had left a message for him on Tuesday saying this, which he admitted receiving, and he would have known it from my paperwork which I sent (signed for) two weeks ago. He does not think he received this, but is not sure. He is unsure if I can swap teams as someone else has asked too. I asked first, but I am on mat leave. That should make no difference. I can fight that battle later though.

At the moment I do not know if I need to resubmit paperwork or not. He reassures me I will get paid. Twat! Not happy. I will likely have to get GP to reissue three sick notes, and complete my Mat Form, self Certificate and Parental Leave form again, then deliver it. I could really do without this six weeks before birth!

Hi everyone,

It's nearly bedtime here, and I cant wait. I hope to goodness I get some sleep tonight. We'll see.

daisy I am glad that you are in hospital its got to be for the best - I'm sure its pretty upsetting but I hope you and your baby will be fine and looked after etc

Sorry to hear about your dh gtbaby rowing for hours sounds absolutely awful - how selfish of him to keep you up all night.

The paperwork etc sounds FUN VQ (not so much)

I went to the park today with dd and there were preggers ladies everywhere I looked! so funny. Also bumped (hehe) into my preggy friend from round the corner and had a quick chin wag with her. very nice. I treated me and dd to lunch at a cafe near us and it was heaven. I felt so low and emotional all night without getting enough sleep and was dreading today - but I focused on trying to make it nice and it was - phew!

WaitingForMe · 14/09/2012 12:04

Sorry you're stuck in hospital daisy

Iheartpasties · 14/09/2012 12:05

lane81 do you think its carpol tunnel? making your fingers numb?

MissMummy1 · 14/09/2012 12:11

Doctors just phoned. Blood sugar is fine (phew) but apparently I have 'dangerously low' iron levels and stores and they want me to come in for further testing and start taking iron tablets asap. Fab. I ended up being on an iron drip a few times when I was a teenager due to anaemia but it's not been an issue for years. sigh

horseylady · 14/09/2012 12:26

Mm1 at least it's an excuse to eat dark chocolate!!!

Mine are really low. I'm taking iron, and lactulose. It's great!! Hope you're ok!!

applepieinthesky · 14/09/2012 12:50

Every fucker is winding me up today Angry Angry Angry

Got the midwife at 1.20 so I better calm down or baby's heartbeat will be through the roof.

I've got an ebay seller I bought a coat from who is refusing to refund me despite it being lost in the post. He is telling bare faced lies to ebay saying the Royal Mail have confirmed to me that I have signed for it when I haven't and saying I need to make the claim for compensation because they will need proof of my signature. I have an email from the Royal Mail confirming it's lost and I need to provide proof of postage (which is in the seller's possession) to make a claim. Today when told it was a lie he says that I told him yesterday that it's been signed for when I never said anything of the sort. I don't have his address, the name of the post office where it was sent etc so how can I claim? Ebay rules also state it is the seller's responsibility to refund me and make a claim but I have to go through the dispute process which takes forever before they will force him to.

I've got people moaning at me at work because we've run out of milk. Err.. I don't give a shit. I'm a finance assistant wtf has it got to do with me? Have I got 'milkman' written on my forehead?

All the clients I have spoken to today are being arses as well but I still have to be polite which I'm finding very difficult today.

Roll on 5.30 then I have a week off. And breathe! That feels better.

YellowWellies · 14/09/2012 12:55

Yey that the blood sugar is fine MM1! That's great news. As Horsey says - the handiest 'carry it around in your handbag way' to keep topped up on iron is dark chocolate (and it'll help with BF stores too)... Grin.

Am much happier as DH has come home filled the coal scuttles and hoovered the house ready for a viewing this afternoon. He is lovely I just wish he were more psychic and just did some of this stuff off his own volition. Or maybe I should just be more comfy asking him, after being out with total controlling, nasty, unkind arseholes in the past - I'm not used to having someone who will happily do anything for me but I just need to ask Blush. Have done the jedi mind trick and he will be coming home with chocolate and becks blue...

He's also asked me for ideas for my birthday - which is 8th Nov, and our EDD is 19th Nov. So Mummies who already have kids - any ideas of what I'm likely to fancy at that stage in pregnancy? - other than an elective section or an industrial hoist to carry me around? Grin What I would really like would be for junior to turn up on my Bday - that would be cool.

Went out for dinner last night with pals - everyone said 'boy bump'. Am trying to ignore the girly bit and bobs I've bought on Ebay. Poor sod could end up with some interesting 'nightwear' if it is a boy.

Just treated myself to a gorgeous dress from Joules - it turned up this morning and looks like it will be really forgiving in terms of post birth belly, boobs and hips and will be a nice slightly glam (heh I'll still be in wellies if we're up here so not that glam!) change from joggers and DH's fleeces for the odd occasion I might want to leave the house in the early few weeks. It is tricksy trying on non-preggo dresses with a gurt big bump though...

VQ your boss sounds like a total fecktard. I'd have gone mumpy. Hmmm god I'm hormonal today!!!

StuntNun · 14/09/2012 12:57

Tits thanks for the tips on SPD. No more trolleys (actually DS1 had promised to push it but then wandered off the little sod) and I will attempt to put DH in charge of vacuuming. Actually I just got a new vacuum (Miele Cat and Dog) and it's quite light and easy to use. So easy to use that I just vacuumed the whole house including the stairs. I will wait and see whether this causes suffering this afternoon! I was bad enough to need the codeine yesterday but it did sort the pain out pretty pronto.

With regard to party food, at DS1's ninth earlier in the year I just put out crisps, chocolate biscuits, fizzy drink and cake and the boys were all perfectly happy. Girls may have been a bit more demanding but boys are very easy to please.

Ahh apple glad it's not just me - there must be something in the stars today affecting preggo ladies. Hope your day gets better. If I weren't updiffed man I'd be having a marlboro light right now....
