Awww Hockeymum, what a lovely post!

Any change yet Lovecloud?
No you haven't lost it, lol. I know exactly how you feel. These last few weeks of this pregnancy, I have never felt so impatient, I was never like this with the last 2.
So many times I've thought 'ooo is this it' and got myself both physically and mentally prepared, only for nothing to happen! 39+4 now and I feel like my life is on hold, I can't plan to do much, and everyday I think 'is today the day?'.... it never is!
I'm hoping all these niggly pains and strange feelings down there, are actually doing something, and when I go into labour, it will be quick, as my body has done alot of the work already. I tried to check my own cervix the other day, to see if it's soft and dilated at all, but I couldn't for the life of me feel anything! lol.
Due for my next MW appointment on wed, and I WILL not be going to that, I WILL have had this baby by then...

Bouj · 29/04/2006 00:18

Seashells - I could have written that post word for word!! I have never been so impatient in all my life (ok, maybe when waiting for ds to born perhaps). I have so many niggly pains, they have got to be doing something. Had quite a strong contraction this morning and was quite convinced it would all kick off, but nothing... Today is my due date by LMP, so perhaps the baby is just punctual?!?

momamia · 29/04/2006 09:28

Hi everyone

I haven't been online for a couple of days, just a quick catch up.
I went to the hospital yesterday, re what birth i will have , the baby is still in the correct position so they are more than happy for me to have a natural birth, they have booked an appointment for when i'm 40 weeks to check everything is still ok, thats if i don't go into labour before then. Fingers crossed, i can't wait now.
I'm 36 +4 weeks now, getting excited, i finished work yesterday which was a bonus.
I'm still not sleeping well, it doesn't matter which side i lie on now, it keeps going numb, any tips????
:)

AbiGilby · 29/04/2006 11:46

Isaac doesn’t have to go back into hospital for checks. Yippee. Grin
He is still jaundiced, but below levels for concern.

My emotions are still all over the place. I feel like a failure in so many ways – not being able to give birth to him ‘properly’, being too sore to look after him properly now, needing help with things, oh and on and on.

But all told, he is worth it, without a doubt! I love him so much. It’s incredible. I never thought my heart could expand this way. I still love DH as much as I ever did, if not more now, but I love Isaac with equal intensity. How I’m capable of so much love is amazing!

Speak soon.

sniff · 29/04/2006 12:37

oh Abi thats lovely that you love them both so much dont worry about the other feelings these are normal it doesnt matter how you give birth you still did it personally I think that people like me who have had v births have had it easy adn I felt just like you when I came home the first time as well and you are looking after him we all need help I am about to have third and cant wait for my mom to come and look after us I have been looking forward to that almost as much as meeting my daughter

I am glad you no longer have to go to the hospital the baby blues should go away soon and you will realise you are doing a fantastic job x x xx x

Mandymoo · 29/04/2006 16:18

Hi ladies - well i'm now 39 weeks and ready for action! Head is 3/5 engaged and i am soooooooooo ready for this to happen now! I dont think i've ever been quite so uncomfortable or tired as i am at the moment! (and this is my second pregnancy!)

Am trying to embrace every minute though cos i now this is the last time i will ever be pregnant again - but its hard to enjoy when every single part of you aches Grin

Anyway, take care all of you and look forward to reading about the next birth very very soon XX

lovecloud · 29/04/2006 17:33

Hello

39 weeks here too

2/5 enagaged and B.O.R.E.D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hockeymum · 30/04/2006 09:59

Abi, the rollercoaster emotions are totally normal at this time and almost entirely due to the milk hormones (along with lack of sleep and recovering from an operation). Just make sure you talk things through with someone who will listen (other mums all know how you feel at this stage, we've all done it and been through it) I'm certainly going through it again, but thankfully with the second time, you know it will go away in a few days. You are not in any way a failure, you are being a loving mother to your son, you are feeding him regularly to get rid of the jaundice, you are recovering from a bad experience and still managing to love him and your dh. You are doing so well and you shold be so proud of yourself for bringing him into the world. Well done you.

Oh and for those people who were asking about whether you can love a second child as much as a first born. Absolutely!!!!!! I bonded so much quicker with Theo and loved him instantly (it took a little time with dd as I think I was in so much shock). I don't love dd any less now Theo is here now it's amazing how your love can expand to include dh, dd and ds.

I look forward to hearing who is next. There must be a few of you overdue by now!

Hi,

Thought I'd add to rest of the messages 39wks tomorrow and not feeling bad at all so much to sort out - clean cupboards etc. will I get it done in time !

Kittenpaws · 30/04/2006 15:07

Hi, thought I would catch up with you all. Congrats to the 2 of you with your babies already - I'm sure there will be more soon. Having felt fine through most of this pregnancy haven't been feeling great since I stopped work, all the things I was going to do are still not done but I'm sure the baby won't care if the house is tidy or not!! However DH was a star this morning, he got DD up and took her out so I got a lie in which was fantastic, probably the last for a while and I feel so much better! Can't wait for this baby to arrive now, very bored of waiting but no sign yet.

squidgeymiller · 30/04/2006 15:54

Hi all

Am officially overdue now - was supposed to pop yesterday but abosolutely nothing happened.
Have had a few contractions this morning but not painful so not sure if is very early labour or BH (haven't really felt any BH throughout pg so not sure if I haven't been having them or just can't feel them - would that mean that being able to feel these ones is the beginning of labour??? v confused!) Also had some pains "down below" which I thought was a good sign as thought it could be baby engaging but had to go for a lie down about 12ish and haven't really felt anything since then (although did get woken up by a racing heartbeat).

DH is playing Xbox at the mo but have persuaded him to take me for a walk in a bit to see if that helps - all the contractions I did feel were when I was standing up.

Am really hoping this is it - my legs are really struggling to cope with carrying my huge weight around now. Also because tomorrow is 6 yrs anniversary of my MIL death, so would be really nice for the family to have something nice to remember the day for instead.

Will keep you updated - am having a mildly painful feeling in my belly (from side to side) at the mo but it's not feeling hard so probably not contraction - I wish I knew what all these feelings were!!! Blush

Asur · 30/04/2006 17:15

Hi ladies,

Thanks for the tips on positions - I'm trying them all and doing LOADS of walking about to try and kick-start this thing. Just looking forward to it all being over.

It's so reassuring to read these posts though - I thought I was unusual having not felt any BH but I'm glad I'm not alone. I'm not sure if I've not had any or if I've just not been aware of them. Hoping it's not a bad sign that I haven't felt them - maybe it means my body is totally ready and I'll have a completely pain-free labour! (please don't anybody correct me on that if I'm wrong! Wink)

Well, good luck everyone and hope there are more babies arriving soon - it is May tomorrow so due dates are here! :)

lovecloud · 30/04/2006 21:03

Hello still not overdue but had enough.

Keep bugging dh for sex so he feels a bit abused at the moment :)

My twisting his leg is "You should get what you offered as you know you wont have this for a long time"... always works :)

Niggles throughout the day and night so i cant cut off even when watching a video.

Just cant wait to meet this little one.

cori · 30/04/2006 21:40

1st of May tomorrow. So who is due this week.?
I am due on Thursday the 4th. Had some quite strong braxton hicks contractions yesterday, very little today though. AM trying all induction methods i can think of including Acupuncture. Have also heard that clary sage (in bath water) and blue cohosh is useful too.

louismummy · 30/04/2006 21:47

Seashells · 01/05/2006 06:44

My due date today.... come on baby! :)

Bouj · 01/05/2006 06:55

Don't know if any of you saw my 'have my waters gone' thread, but it appears they have not Blush. Still nothing... Official due date is Friday, but original was two days ago. Cannot wait for this to be over now! Gotta be soon, surely?? A show, a show, my kingdom for a show....

louismummy · 01/05/2006 09:05

I hope LC isn't two weeks late... i think she'll go mad! i think its always best to assume that you'll be late then your not disappointed when it is.

tortoiseshell · 01/05/2006 10:51

posted on another thread - 5-6 cm, mw arrived, hopefully not too long to go now....

momamia · 01/05/2006 11:20

Hi everyone
Haven't been on for a couple fo days, i'm really excited for those of you that are due now, lets hope it will happen for you soon.

Abigilby - don't ever feel like you a failure, your body has gone through such a lot, and its gonna take a bit of time for your hormones to settle down. It doesn't matter where the baby comes out, you have done extremley well and you should be proud of yourself. Chin up!!!

I've now still got 3 weeks left and i feel that its dragging, is there anybody else that feels like this???

Good Luck everyone, not long now!!!

:)

fenny1 · 01/05/2006 11:38

I've got 2 weeks to go today and spend all my time trying to convince baby now is the day!!
Having had about 6 weeks off from hormonal madness its back! with a vengance... Poor DP thought life was returning to some normal state and has been woken up every morning this weekend with me in tears, ranging from sobs to hysterical sobsShock
When does it end???

hockeymum · 01/05/2006 15:04

Good luck tortoiseshell - the first official MAY baby (not those of us silly ones that popped in April!). Now remember to breathe and push and you'll be fine!!

Thinking of you - what a lovely day to have a baby!!!!
