thanks for the reassurance ladies, funny thing is when I first found out there was slap cheek in school I was very chilled about it and said to myself it's not my class nothing to worry about but then another teacher from my class who is about 17 weeks so she's told people already told me she was going home and I suddenly went into paranoia overdrive and had a panic! feeling much calmer now I've spent the evening relaxing, going to try and enjoy my day off tomorrow without worrying and hoping everything will be fine and I'll be back in on Wednesday. Will keep you wonderful supportive ladies updated...sleep well

Hi all, I posted a few times on the previous threads but have been out of the loop due to feeling soooo yuck that I couldn't really bring myself to go online after all day on a computer at work!
Anyway am looking forward to getting myself reacquainted and hearing about everyone's scans (mine is 26th Sept which feels like forever away!).

Hope everyone is starting to see light at the end of the morning sickness tunnel!

Thts great news about the scan toobreathless and always I agree with ur mum. Didn't have time for breakfast this mornin with school run but by the time I drove to work in the space of 10mins, I was searching my car for a carrier bag to throw up in! Had to take a detour to the spar and buy a pack of biscuits to nibble on!

Welcome to the newbies!

cam I do feel dehydrated this morning but generally am keeping enough fluids down not to get into the vicious cycle. The sickness settled and I slept after I posted. Think I'll be avoiding Wetherspoon's chicken skewers in the future though! Confused I will drink plenty today!

Morning all, hope everyone with sickness is feeling a little better.

To get your MW booking in appointment do you first have to see your GP? I haven't seen my GP yet apart from very briefly at 5 weeks when he had to refer me to EPU to check for ectopic. I guess I have to see him to get the MW appointment and see the MW to get the 12 week scan date. I don't want to make GP appointment until after my reassurance scan on Thursday at the EPU for fear of jinxing but worried I might be leaving it a bit late. Has everyone had at 8 weeks and beyond had a GP appointment?

HaveALittleFaith · 11/09/2012 07:51

teapig my GP just told me to arrange a midwife appointment at reception. I would just call your GP practice abd see if they can arrange you a booking in appointment.

Giddypants · 11/09/2012 08:37

Morning ladies, feeling rough again this morning, after I thought I was getting over the sickness Sad
tmi sorry it being so early and everything but was wondering if anyone is having loose movements? It comes and goes with the sickness but I was wondering if it could be vitamin related as it started before I was pg, I do have a nervous bowel and if I could be developing IBS?
Sorry if you are just tucking into your breakfast!

Mama1980 · 11/09/2012 08:52

Morning all, am having another scan today as have been bleeding heavily-fingers crossed. Sad On the plus side the nurses let me keep my laptop on and watch the tennis last night! Hope everyone is well?

somewherebecomingrain · 11/09/2012 09:40

morning all - sorry to hear that mama1980 crossing my fingers for you.
giddy yes I am totally getting loose bowels (9+5) - it's come on suddenly i the past few days.

thought i'd got over my MS but it's back with a vengeance.

Yesterday I had some good times with a Sainsbury's salad bar salad and some ripe nectarines - but a mango was a bit sick-making.

Felt so sick i thought i'd hurl in the car picking up my DS from nursery.

then in the evening it was egg, bacon, beans. the bacon was disappointingly tasteless but the whole thing did make my MS go away.

Had a whole evening feeling normal.

Today feeling dizzy as well as sick. Cravings-wise am coming full circle back to nachos with salsa, melted cheddar, sour cream and guacamole (i had a love-in with it last week).

I have a mixture of awful MS coupled with intense potentially pleasurable (were it not for the MS) cravings - a quest for a curative umami - the ultimate savoury that will make me feel better. Anyone else having intense cravings for certain flavours?

xxxx

PinkFondantFancy · 11/09/2012 10:03

giddy that's exactly the problem I've got at the moment too. Basically I feel like I've got a monster hangover - upset tummy, churny stomach, light heated, nauseous, headachy :( bleugh!

mama1980 hope everything's ok.

Giddypants · 11/09/2012 10:15

Fingers crossed for you mama1980 hoping your scan goes well

Well at least I'm not alone feeling like this, my leg as numb all day yesterday from my pgp and sciatica, and totally feeling hungover all the time, I just want to sleep from the minute I get up! I really hope it gets better in week 12.

usernamegoeshere · 11/09/2012 10:48

Teapig I visited my GP at 5 weeks as was having quite bad dizzy spells but I requested not be referred yet since am having a private scan so thought I would wait to see that it is ok first. My GP did do bloods from me at that point though to rule out diabetes, kidney or thyroid problems.

I think if you plan to have tests for downs you should make sure you get along to GP/MW soonish as the NT scan is best at 11-12 weeks I believe.

miarosemum · 11/09/2012 11:15

mama 1980 hope scan goes well, everything fx for you today. good to hear of all other scans gone well as well Smile
well had my booking in appoinment today (9+4) and all went well. full history taken, and choices for birth discussed. she said as I had a healthy pregnancy and birth with dd1 why not discuss to have a home birth? the thought had never crossed my mind, I suppose I just think that hospital birth seems to just be the natural thing to do and ALL the drugs are on hand!! had blood done, even HIV. even though I know am not at any risk of HIV, still worries me having this one, anyone else feel that way? scan for next wednesday, although can't help but worry that when I have it done there will be no baby! silly I know but not had much nauseau so cant help worry even though done about 10 pregnancy tests and feel like I have had a boob job!

Teapig · 11/09/2012 13:12

Thanks faith and username. I can't bring myself to call GP before scan on Thursday so if all goes well I ring immediately after the scan and try to get an MW appointment pronto.

Giddy I know what you mean, I have also been a bit a loose Blush

Mama I hope your scan goes well today, thinking of you.

JessieEssex · 11/09/2012 13:23

Good luck today mama - hope all goes well.

I'm starting to feel better - still a bit nauseous but nowhere near as bad as a week ago, and also sleeping better so don't feel as much like the walking dead as before! Also sure that my bloated tummy is calming down a bit and I now look about 4 months pregnant rather than 6...

12 week scan is a week tomorrow - can't believe it - time seems to be moving a bit faster now, weeks 4-8 seemed to last forever. So hang on in there those due at the end of April - you'll get there in the end!

giddy def feeling it with sickness and loose movements today. Only been nausous up until now, kept at bay by grazing but woke up this morning feeling and being sick, now sat it work squirming cos I've got tummy ache and desperately need a poo but don't want to in work! Silly I no but need to b in my own home to make a smell Blush

teapig saw my gp at 5 wks for a referral to EPAU for spotting but had to go bk again to get a referral to mw for booking in appt which I've got Thurs. 2nd gp said I cld of jst foned and ask for the referral though! Tht was an hour off work tht I cld of done without but hey ho.

Still got a cold but easing off now. Jst hope this sudden attack of bein sick doesn't last!

Hope everyone else is doin ok. Fx for mama too.

aufaniae · 11/09/2012 13:53

Hope your scan goes well mama keeping fingers crossed for you.

growyourown77 · 11/09/2012 14:35

mama i hope you're holding up ok and your scan goes well. hugs.

teapig I just filled in a form at GP reception that triggers the MW getting in touch to arrange booking appointment and triggers a scan date. I wasn't expecting either to happen until we're away next week. But the MW called last night and is popping round for a pre-booking appt tonight before we go on hols with a follow up after.

Plus, I have a 12 week scan date of 16th Oct. So surprised, but really pleased that things are falling into place so that I can relax and enjoy our holiday.

somewhere I'm getting real cravings for nachos too (who would have thought!), plus nectarines, mango, Walkers French Fries crisps and fizzy water, which I've never been into before.

Anyone getting food aversions? My main one is over-ripe bananas, that I had to ask DH to banish from the house and air the room. Eugh!

Hope all goes well mama.

Had a fishfinger and potato waffle butty for lunch and it was lively. I don't eat fish normally.

ENormaSnob · 11/09/2012 14:49

Hello everyone,

Could I join please?

Think I'm due around 4/4 going off dates, I have my 12week scan on the 24th of sept.

Suffering dreadfully from hyperemesis atm do praying for it to stop soon Sad

JaquelineHyde · 11/09/2012 15:11

Hi mama we're all thinking of you and waiting for an update please let us know how you got on today!

I really enjoyed my day off from school today and I never thought I'd be happy to be going back after time off but I got the all clear of being immune to slap cheek and I can go back in tomorrow. Bit sneaky of me as I found out at lunchtime but only just emailed my line manager because I didn't want her telling me to come in for the afternoon Wink

Hi all and thanks for all the good wishes - well scan showed babe looking great Smile but I am still bleeding heavily. My nerves are just shredded.

Teapig · 11/09/2012 17:57

So pleased to hear everything was good with the scan Mama. The bleeding must be worrying but so many women bleed in pregnancy and some very heavily so try not to worry, impossible I know. You're in the best possible place and baby is looking good so take it nice and easy.

I've felt really zonked out all day despite going to bed at 9.30pm. Don't know how I'm going to cope tomorrow when I have to catch the 4.30am train to a conference!
