Tiddily - have you tried James'Villas? Also - I can recommend Morocco. You can hire Riads or stay in one that's kid friendly & it's a very child friendly country. Essouria is cheaper than Marrakech & would be a nice week away bolt hole. Not a long flight either.

JoJoBella84 · 02/09/2012 09:22

Morning ladies, just a very quick post! Had a very productive day stripping wallpaper yesterday. Followed by pizza and schloer (yuk) at a friends, was a full on 12 hour day but feel good for it. I accidentally ate two spoonful's of chocolate moose (home made) before realising I shouldn't be eating it! Doh!
Anyhoo, another full day of stripping and painting for mee.
Happy Sunday's everyone :)

backwardpossom · 02/09/2012 09:32

Ugh have just vommed again. That's 2 mornings in a row. Is this some kind of joke?!

JoJoBella84 · 02/09/2012 09:47

possum that's how it started for me!! Weeks of some nausea then the vomiting started. Twice a week without fail. The only plus side is that you tend to feel better earlier in the day if you vomit! 16 weeks in and I'm back to the nausea phase! Pah!

backwardpossom · 02/09/2012 09:57

It's rubbish isn't it Jojo?! I hadn't been sick at all up until this point, just a bit nauseous!

theTramp · 02/09/2012 10:30

You poor thing.

GummiberryJuice · 02/09/2012 10:38

Possom not sure what's going on, but I'm the same thankfully the last 2 days I have felt abit better, I'm hoping I'm just stressing about dd1 starting school and scan on Tuesday

Tiddely I was all set for googling an Esther pool to see what it was, lol

Fx crossed for tomorrow for all scans,

Hope everyone else who had other sickness are feeling better,

Emus its always the way loads of thing happen at once, as long as you remember to take some time out everynow and again

KFFOREVER · 02/09/2012 10:43

Morning ladies.

I have yet to catch up on all the posts but I thought I'd reply before i completely get left behind.

My sickness and my lack of appetite has put me off. I have yet to sort out what Im going to take and this is sooooo unlike me. Although im not vomitting I still feel nauseous (sp?). We booked it when I was having a good day thinking the worst was over but unfortunately not. I have my salt and vinegar snackajacks at hand though as thats the only thing that agrees with me.

On a positive note my sonographer stook by his word and posted me my scan pics. Right im off to Lakeside for some Paris shopping.

OodHousekeeping · 02/09/2012 13:28

Just had a traumatic lunch. Took a mouthful of drink & got a wasp. Stung my lip & tongue which are v sore now. Dh got the sting out v quickly and gave me an antihistamine so the swelling didn't get too bad. Currently sitting with my tongu out though as its less sore.

pinkpeony4 · 02/09/2012 13:33

Oodhousekeeping OW!! You poor thing that is such bad luck. I hope you feel better soon. Maybe put some ice on it or have an ice lolly?

To everyone being sick, I hope today is just a bad day and that you feel better very soon. I am now 14+2 and generally feel loads better. I do still get waves of nausea now and again but compared to the 24 hours a day version this is so much better! I am still going to bed at 8.30 though... all of my boys are awake from 6.30 too - yawn! 7am would be an amazing lie in!

Anyway, I just popped on to wish everyone lots of luck for their scans tomorrow. There are quite a few I think so I hope they all go well and I am looking forward to hearing all your news tomorrow Smile

Has anyone been to see Matilda the musical? Thinking of booking tickets to take ds1 (6) but wanted to see whether anyone has been first because it's so expensive!

tiddleypompom · 02/09/2012 13:50

Stung by a wasp in your mouth?? Holy crap (excuse language) that sounds mighty unpleasant. Second the ice lolly. Yum.

DS slept through again, deep joy for me :) Long may it continue...

Not seen Matilda (nice dd name) pink, but have heard rave reviews. I wish I was called Mrs Trunchbull :o

OodHousekeeping · 02/09/2012 14:05

Had an ice lolly, helped a bit. Dh had to go to work straight from lunch so my mum has been fora bit until I was up to looking after dds.

DoodleBugBee · 02/09/2012 14:33

Jojo - schloer is foul. Agreed.

Lexiindisguise · 02/09/2012 14:46

I saw Matilda (just me & DH as I love Roald Dahl Blush) - it was BRILLIANT! Highly recommended!

Just been maternity shopping - great jeans from H&M, had to go a size up but they are really flattering. Also a dress for holiday and some cheap maternity bras from Debenhams; not the sexiest but reasonably priced & not the kind that come up to your neck! Reluctant to spend much at this stage as I know I will need nursing bras in a different size later. And a bump band as maternity tops swamping me still. H&M was the only shop with even a half way decent selection of maternity wear!

mandasand · 02/09/2012 15:29

afternoon all! sorry to hear so many are suffering through sickness (surely it has to lift soon!), lack of sleep and wasp-stings! Ouch all round. Hopefully Sunday is as restful and recuperative as possible.

I've been working away on my book, which is good as yesterday was a (pleasant) right-off (write-off?!) BUT took a moment out to help DH move our very heavy, solid wood bed away from the wall he needed to paint. Tried to use arms and legs not core muscles but o-u-c-h I've had womb-twinges of decreasing severity ever since (4hrs ago!) Refuse to accept that something dreadful will ensue from this moment of stupidity but I guess they tell you not to lift heavy things for good reason. Feel such an idiot. Also, as I'm not even trying to shift the bed back we're in a bit of a pickle as it's now sat against the wardrobe wall and DH can't shift it on his own. Erm...!

Anyway, the wall looks bloody beautiful. Solitary man who owned the house before us used yellow in every room so our bedroom was a mellow yellow everywhere with a red feature wall. Hideous! It's just lush now. Not sure yet what to replace the yellow with but we'll see how the off-white colour on the woodwork comes out first.

Anyway, just a brief pop-in to moan about womb-twinges (!) Take care all!

theTramp · 02/09/2012 15:45

Mand - I had a mad cleaning day a few weeks ago & decided to move ALL furniture by myself. Table, chairs, sofa, sideboard... Twinges were pretty bad but scan following week suggested no harm done despite my stupidity. I've decided it was an early lesson - so no way I'll do that as bump increases. Sounds bit like you've done same thing there. Can you rest up for a little bit?

H&M shop trip sounds v successful. Clearly I'm going to have to bite the bullet on that one.

I'm meant to be working but had to slope off for a nap. I'm so tired it's silly but must get this paper finished tonight. Nnnngh. Just want to slip back under covers & watch a daft movie whilst snoozing.

theTramp · 02/09/2012 15:47

Ohh forgot to say - OW! - wasp sting on your tongue. Crikey! You poor thing. That's really unlucky.

mandasand · 02/09/2012 16:02

Argh, sorry to hear you had similar, Tramp, but I'm glad it didn't do any harm in the long run. FX for me too! Yes, like you, am taking it as a lesson learned! Had a good lie-down immediately after the twinges started and have been sat at desk ever since (as restful as today gets!) The tiredness is ridiculous, isn't it? Friday and today I've managed to achieve some semblance of work with the aid of a strong coffee. I know it's not ideal but it does get me in the right frame of mind! Good luck with paper.

Lexiindisguise · 02/09/2012 16:14

Also sending sympathy for the wasp sting - ouch!
In the maternity jeans now and it's bliss. Think I will get another pair next month...sooo much more comfortable.

theTramp · 02/09/2012 16:36

Lexi - you've sold me!

Mand - I've been cafene free for almost 3 years, a real coffee would prob send me into the stratosphere. However I'm waking myself up with a decaf tea & episode of Project Runway :) MrM has said he'll cook our Sunday roast - love is x

Hope everyone else's Sunday's are coming together & Mand I am sure you'll be twinge free soon. Your beans have just given you a wrist slap :)

peanutMD · 02/09/2012 16:42

Hi everyone, I popped in on the first match thread to say hello as I had a suspicion I'd be due then.

Since then I have had my first scan which confirmed an EDD of 7th March :o

All seems fine although I have had sickness atleast once a day which is a PITA!

OodHousekeeping · 02/09/2012 17:06

Congrats peanut

theTramp · 02/09/2012 18:10

Peanut - hello! and congratulations!!!

theTramp · 02/09/2012 18:12

Some more maternity clothes store links on the thread (Topics/becoming a parent/Pregnancy/maternity clothes) which I found on my idle online wanderings.

If I have the energy on Monday I will pop to H&M on Oxford St and check out there wears. If I don't - I'll check them out on friday after my scan.. I think the latter is more likely than the foremer.

Today I'm wearing an old purple skater style dress in a stretchy wool/cotton/viscose mix which I bought from Oasis about 3 years ago. I thought it would hide bump - it seems it just screams LOOK AT THE PREGNANT LADY. Curses!
