Kff why regretting babymoon? It sounds lovely. Is it just that you'll be only able to sniff the wine & cheese?

Lexi oddly I found more boys names but I think that's because it's boys names where I need inspiration. I think I have my shortlust for girls already and the trick now will be to spend next 6 months getting MrM to see my way of thinking on both :)

Mand I've no idea where the nearest Mothercare is but your haul sounds ace. Clearly I need to go find one & have a good butchers.

Showed off IO stripey dress to MrM, who thinks it's v funky & now knows what ruching is. Had lovely email back from tall maternity people - all details on clothes thread - which has restored my faith in decent retailers.

My Mum is desperate for me to have scan so she can tell everyone. Apparently hair dresser asked her if any babies were on way yesterday - something she allegedly never asks - and she had to fob but got all flabbergasted & Tongue tied (hopeless fibber my mother). You can just imagine can't you :)

In cat flap update - one cat is avoiding tea area just incase cat flap attacks & is spending much time crying to me about being starving. Other cats used it to get at tea I put just outside it, then jumping back through & running helter skelter downstairs in terror to hide under safety of bed. (sigh). I feel this could take sometime...

theTramp · 01/09/2012 18:48

Ho Ho - shortlust - should be list but somehow it seems an apt typo

Lexiindisguise · 01/09/2012 18:53

Sheldon glad I am not the only one. I like it too - better than just feeling tubby like the past two weeks!
Tramp the catflap thing made me smile, as a cat owner. We have moved litter tray outside in preparation for baby, and our 11 year old is not impressed (won't remove it entirely as it wouldn't be fair). If we don't clean it regularly enough she wees by the back door....little princess!

theTramp · 01/09/2012 18:59

Lexi - once cat flap is in use that's our plan. If this fails we're buying a cat loo. I can't link cause on phone but pop on amazon - it's the cat genie self flushing litter tray. It's pricey, which is what's stopped me so far, but looks an awful lot like a genius solution...

sunny, pink, KF I am really happy for you and your babies - what happy joyful news to hear on a beautiful sunny day :)

Woo hoo finally home from work and the first thing I do is veg on sofa and read mums net and all the updates- me, obsessed, NEVER!!!! DH walked in and knew I was checking in ' with other the hormonal people'

kff why are you regretting baby moon? As I am very jealous of ur break in Paris :)

DH made me junk funds as that's what I fancied pizzas and dough balls and was all pleased he hand made it all- I took a bit and started reaching and spat it back on my plate and en tried to pick at another slice which didn't work either. Feeling really bad on him now as he tried so hard to make it for me and don't help that I am really hungry but nothing is working right now!

Hope everyone had lovely a Saturday, I am nearly off to bed after mt 5.20 am drive to London this morning

mandasand · 01/09/2012 19:57

Lexi, yep all of a sudden there came a sort of pot belly jutting out at a definite angle from my bikini-line area. now is definite bump! (Am 13 weeks.)

Sheldon that's a great idea. Love the idea of animal stickers! Am totally with you on the pink thing. I'd prefer to go more neutral, tbh or a pale yellow, but I like it when DH has preferences about stuff as normally he's a bit 'not bothered, you decide' so we can hopefully find a happy medium. Don't want to get too bright or dark as it's a small room.

Tramp I think mothercare do free p&p so once you know what size you are you can always get it delivered. Not the most exciting range of clothes, I'd say, but great for staples. As the assistant measuring up my boobs said, fashion/style goes out the window to some extent in pregnancy! Still holding out high hopes for H&M (when I can find one that does the maternity range in store!)

Oh Zoey I hate it when you're starving but can't eat the normal stuff that would satisfy. We got a delivery from our have Nepalese last night and I just picked at it. :-( But today in Tesco I had to have a cheese and tom toast from Costa now and my goodness it hit the spot. Hope you find something. I've got some staples meals-snacks which are seeing me through difficult moments everyday: cornflakes and milk (neither of which I normally ever eat!), vine toms (have to be the expensive ones!) with olive oil and lots of salt and pepper with rye bread (can't stand normal bread at mo), petit filous yoghurts (why, I do not know!) and apples. They have been my main snacks apart from crisps for weeks now.

Hope everyone is having nice evenings. Given up work and cooking and sitting on sofa. V. nice.

tedmundo · 01/09/2012 20:20

Hi ladies, sorry I have been missing for a while. I tried to update the oter day but think I messed up posting .. Did it hit? It wasn't saying much anyway!

I have had tonsillitis which is why I have been off the radar. Sickness and weakness etc peaked last week. BUT BUT BUT .. Yesterday and today, now my throat is easing I can tell that in general I am definitely feeling better! I am 13+1 now so I am praying that this is the end of the hell that was first trimester.

Anyone else actually starting to feel better?

We are slowly telling people when we see them. Although, people who know me well guess easily as my bump is now quite rounded. I am small so can't really hide it (by the way, I am aching with jealously all you talking about long legs ... You lucky things!!!).

DH away for a week so just me and the boys for a while.

Ohhhh .. Gary just called that woman annoying and got booed!! I thought she was quite annoying too (but possibly because she was distracting me typing up post for you lot!). Scary spice liked her ... Nuff said!

ThreeForTea · 01/09/2012 21:55

Ted Sorry to hear about tonisllitis and general poorliness, much sympathy! ..I was starting to feel better yesterday, but seem to have gone downhill again today, bah! :(

Hello everyone, happy Saturday eve. Am sitting in Pil's lounge, with Pil's. Dh has buggered off to bed but i'm trying to hold out till ten for a chance of sleeping through (yes to the sleep problem thing also). Pil's live down on the south coast but unfortunatly probably won't make it to the seaside this weekend, though can hopefully send dh and dd tomorrow.

So had an Isabella dress arrive yesterday, really love it, but noticed a small hole in the fabric so will have to send it back! Is from the actual Isabella Oliver website, not ebay so should get an exchange easy enough. Just the hassle of packing and resending.

nighty night 'other hormonal people'! snort Grin

confuddledDOTcom · 01/09/2012 22:56

Evening ladies, I?m going to have a nice, relaxing, casual catch up (although not the whole thread ? over half way already???) of the thread.

Since my husband has been away I?ve not been sleeping very well. The girls have been unsettled with him not there, the eldest particularly. She?s been awake on and off until 2am then she?s back in my bed around 5am and the baby wakes up not long after, she then beats my face up until I get up. Pregnancy + lack of sleep + fibro is not very conducive to my health nor my parenting. I?ve constantly been feeling that sort of edgy feeling of not having had enough sleep. Normally he will take them downstairs whatever time they get up and feed them, then when he goes to work he wakes me up or if the baby is asleep and only the eldest is up he?ll just leave me to sleep. At weekends he lets me sleep until I?m awake.

Then today the 3yo and 15mo trashed the living room. I was crying my eyes out ? I?d not eaten all day as there wasn?t anything in for me to have for breakfast and it was just after lunch time and I had nothing in for lunch and about to go to the shop but my handbag was in the trash with my purse missing. My eldest was sobbing her heart out too (she?s been so helpful lately, she?s taken charge of the toy corner and they?d pulled all the toys out) so I called Mum just not knowing what else to do. She called me back about 10 mins later to say my IL?s were on their way over for the girls and were happy to keep them over night if I wanted and would take the baby too if I was ok with it. To be honest I?d been considering asking my parents to have them all tonight because I wanted just one day where I could sleep, so I was only too glad to get rid of them all! Sent them with some almond milk for the baby but sounds like she?s eating them out of house and home Grin she can easily out eat the other two, put together even! Depending what they?re having we sometimes only get two meals, not because she doesn?t eat a lot and gets scraps but because she out eats them. I?m probably not going to get another night like this for a long time, shame I?ve no man here Wink (I drive Mark around the bend when I?m pregnant).

theTramp · 02/09/2012 01:36

Blimey confud you've had a stressful time. Enjoy the sleep sounds like you need it.

So pleased to hear the tonsilutus is better - it must've been awful last couple of weeks. Bad enough to suffer from it normally but with pregnancy ails too - hideous!

confuddledDOTcom · 02/09/2012 01:40

Tiddler, I used Dr Jay's nightweaning method, might work for other things too. If he's in pain though it may not be the best time to do it. If he's letting you cuddle him then try and cuddle as much as you can, do you have a sling?

sarahs999 · 02/09/2012 04:21

Hello insomniacs. Anyone else with me this morning? Someone (sosorry, can't remember who) ws asking about the fit of the io dresses. You should be ok - ESP if you have big boobs. I'm a 12 and the 12 fit v comfortably though I will always need to wear a vest top underneath to protect my modesty - kind of annoying and a common prob with wrap dresses but there you go.

Sorry to hear of terror children and sleepless nights. Glad to hear they've been taken off your hands though - hooray for families eh?

I'm so fed up with my bladder - thought this was al meant to ease up by now?! Every three hours without fail, and I stopped drinking liquid at 6.30 last night. Rubbish.

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 02/09/2012 06:29

Another insomniac here! Waking up to wee then can't sleep.

Rubbish.

FloweryBoots · 02/09/2012 07:21

Me too. Forced out of my own bed at about 5am as between DS and DH there was no space left for me, plus of course needed to wee! Tried having a lie on the floor but then decided I needed to eat as only had tiny tea last night so just got up.

DS seems to have cold, horrible barking cough and the delightful little mite has just wiped his nose on my dressing gown, quite purposefully! Doesn't seem too bad in himself so far at least, but I'll be keeping my eye on that cough, it sounds a lot like whooping cough. Hoping it's just compacted flem (lovely) stuck in his throat - I get that and sound like a seal when I do too! Inhalors at the ready in the Boots house I think. We were hoping to go for a walk on the moors today, will have to see how he's doing later. And me, yesterday was a very sicky feeling day again. I'm SOOOO fed up of feeling crappy. 13 +3 by my origional dates and 12+4 by midwife's with her mysterious extra 6 days so hoping sickness will go soon. Was about 16 - 17 weeks with DS but the sickness wasn't nearly so bad.

Sheldonella · 02/09/2012 07:46

I'm with you sarah been up for ages. Still weeing all night too. It was me that asked about the dress, thanks for that. I'm really looking forward to getting it, hope it turns up tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about those feel crap and having stressful days.

Emus · 02/09/2012 08:12

Sarah I would have been up with you this morning but I had a brilliant sleep that was looooong overdue for once. Only needed to get up in the night once and went straight back to sleep as I was so exhausted.

WARNING: Me Me Me rant, don't feel the need to reply, just having a moan!!

Had a horrible day yesterday as wasn't able to get back to sleep in the end so had been up from 2am until 10pm last night. Had loads of stuff to do for the new house yesterday (including an early morning appointment in another county at 8am) for the new house. Then when I thought I could come home and nap we got caught in traffic so were late for our next appointment so went straight there.

Then when I thought I could go home and nap we get a call from the estate agents to say that they have a viewing on our house so we had to hang about town for an hour. Just as we were finally packing up to head home we get another call from estate agent to say someone else was coming around. Grrrrr. Finally got home about 6pm and just collapsed on the sofa with shivers, ms, headache etc. felt really sorry for myself!!! just when I thought my ms was going it was back with a vengeance yesterday but probably because I didn't eat much.

We've got three and half weeks until we need to move and we've got SO much to do. We went from casually looking at houses to suddenly having one and having to get out of our current house in less than a month! It doesnt help that the estate agent is arranging viewings left right and centre (we havent even got a board up yet as we only gave permission to list on Friday at 4pm) and by the end of today (Sunday) three couples would have viewed. Its stressing me out as we have to pack and I dont want to have to leave the house every time someone comes around but I also dont want to be here when people come around!

The day we are supposed to complete is my dp's last day in his old job so to say that we are a little stressed is an understatement! New job, new house, new baby! I think it happens like this some times though doesn't it?! Excited about everything though. Grin. At least the house move will be sorted in just over three weeks!

Right, sorry to go on! We're fine, just busy and in a bit of a daze at the mo! Have got some fam visiting today (who we havent told yet) so no chance to start the packing so we'll have to do it after work during the week. Can feel ms coming on so off to fetch my wonderful ginger sweets which have been an absolute flipping God send!

tiddleypompom · 02/09/2012 08:29

Am having a lie in :) My only one of the week so I intend to enjoy it and wallow for at least another 30 mins

confuddled I hope you got a good sleep last night, poor thing. Even with only one dc, I am finding preg so much more tiring as there is no chance of a daytime nap even if I am feeling rotten. At 7 ish weeks I was throwing up every time I changed a nappy - horrendous! My sympathies are with you having dd-herding to do on your own.

ted sorry too to hear you've been sick - how unfair given I bet you couldn't take all the pills and potions you'd normally do to take away the pain and aches. Am also happy to be leaving first trimester behind and entering second feeling loads better for now, hooray!

Trying to find a weeks holiday for Sept and struggling. We want to go abroad (europe) and either on Eurostar or short flight. Ideally a farm-stay or other rural retreat with Esther a pool or beach nearby. I found a great website: www.babyfriendlyboltholes.com but think I might have left it too late as so many are fully booked. Grr. Still tis nice to holiday-hunt!

Feeling the IO love here - I just wish they were at least half the price and then I'd look nice most of the time. Ish. Well, sometimes anyway :o

Not long for 3rd Sept massive...

X posts emus - crikey you've a lot on your plate. Have some Thanks and I hope you have a better day today with family. House hunting is a pain (as are estate agents) but you'll be so excited when you find your new one :)

By the way, we aren't going away with Esther. She is remaining at home and should have read 'either'.

backwardpossom · 02/09/2012 08:35

emus sounds like a hell of a day. Great that you got a good sleep last night, you definitely needed it!

DS got up at 6:30am today... Weekends are always the same. WHY?! I often have to wake him up at 8am during the week to get him to nursery! Little sod. Going to have a fairly chilled out day today I think. Got a delivery to pick up at Next at some point. Then it's the day of the scan for loads of us tomorrow. I am shitting myself. Terrified of another mmc. I know I have seen the baby already, but I'm still so so worried! Eek!

StealthToddler · 02/09/2012 09:08

tiddley am with you on the house move. We have been planning a Reno of our house since November but our 5 party wall agreements drag on. It's possible we may be able to start early oct but we can't really look for house to rent till we are sure then it will be a panic house hunt and move and there is no way we can move back in before baby arrives. Am Sad as we have brought all 3 ds back here and want to be in my home !
Busy week coming.... Telling my boss tomorrow, then booking appt tomorrow afternoon ( at 12 weeks!). Ds 2 starts nursery school wednes, ds 1 starts school thurs, 12 week scan Thursday!!!
Any others with scan on the 6th!
On a funny note ds 1 finally lost his 1st tooth yesterday after 6 weeks of wobblyness. Literally lost it. He either ate it or it is on the floor of Trotters! We had to write a polite letter to the tooth fairy to explain! I am keeping that letter for ever Grin

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 02/09/2012 09:10

Hi ladies, great news on all the positive scans and fingers crossed for all of the 3rd September massif.

We are fine, I am knAckered, stayed with heavily pregnant friend on fri night, told coupleour news, so at least someone knows. They are the friends who announced they were pg same time as us last time and they went on to full pg and I had MMC. So they were really thrilled for us. Just on final countdown to scan now. 8 days to go!
Went to see Phantom of the opera yest, it was amazing. Have seen it before years ago, but this production was much better I thought. I really loved it. Then had wedding reception last night, so am totally whacked!

Off to Manchester today for a birthday lunch when i can haul my sorry backside out of bed!

Your comment on the French made me laugh manda I have an A in A-level French and yet, when we went to Paris when I was about 12 weeks of with DD, it tool all my efforts to be able to do simple things like order some food or buy a rail ticket! I blamed the old baby brain! It was a lovely break though, so whoever was regretting booking (KKF)we had a fab time even though i couldn't touch oysters, blue cheese etc etc. lots of sightseeing, lots of nice food, lots of culture, leeeetle bit of wine. Was great. Hope you enjoy despite your reservations.

No IO order here, but popped into H&M yesterday and got a quite nice checked blouse and some mat tights. Oooh the excitement! Wink

StealthToddler · 02/09/2012 09:10

Oh and possum that's normal for us! In fact 6.30 is a lie in!!! I dream of the kids all sleeping past 8. They have all managed to past 7 on 3 occasions!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 02/09/2012 09:12

*12 weeks pg, not of.....
