I wish there was a 'Like' button on here.

Sorry to hear you're awake and struggling to sleep too Feckbox. I'll probably fall asleep at 05:30 and my alarm is going off at 06:00 so I'll spend the day with that 'hungover' feeling!

sarahs999 · 01/09/2012 03:48

Tramp, it was two of the wrap dresses. One black, one blue. Makes up for that manly eBay parcel the other day.

And emus, me too. Most of my sleep problems come from the meds I'm on, so all pregnancy I've been waking up several times a night but then unable to get back to sleep. Usually a big wake from about 3 to 5.30. Really demoralizing when u have to work the next day. I've been sleeping in the spare room for weeks now to try to help but it doesn't make much difference Sad

Hoping that come next Saturday, when I've weaned off he steroids, sleep will return...

sarahs999 · 01/09/2012 03:49

Manky! Not manly. I swear this bloody iPhone is more bother than its worth

Emus · 01/09/2012 04:03

I know how you feel Sarah, during the week its hard when you have work too. My OH has gone into the spare room tonight as he's starting to suffer with my fidgeting. Right, I'm going to try and get some sleep now! Hope you get some sleep too.

Lexiindisguise · 01/09/2012 08:10

Me too with the lack of sleep :-)

JoJoBella84 · 01/09/2012 08:29

Goodness me ladies, have you been up chatting all night?!
I'm having another cup of tea in bed courtesy of Mr JoJo, before we head off to B&Q and over to the house for a day of wallpaper stripping and general paint tester-ing etc!
Happy Saturday everyone :)

theTramp · 01/09/2012 08:39

JoJo - that sounds like a v active day!

I'm trying to show my cats how to use a cat flap. They're 11 & never had one. Apparently it's terrifying & ive betrayed them. After being through it 3 times now - back & forth - ones hiding in furthest corner from door in room. Others out on the terrace hiding behind the BBQ gas bottles. (sigh)

theTramp · 01/09/2012 08:40

Sarah - ohh. I bought the red & black striped dress.

Sheldonella · 01/09/2012 08:50

Morning ladies. I have the sleep problems too. Still weeing in the night and seem to wake up around 5am and can't get back to sleep.

Hooray for yesterdays lovely scans :)

My IO dress hasn't arrived yet. sarah what is the fit like on your wrap dresses? Would you say the sizing is generous? I hope so, I'm between a 12 and 14 and ordered the 12 after reading they had plenty of room. I have ordered the red one so we have the full set between us :)

Nice clothes thread tramp. I like your wooly dress idea, think I will have to look into that too. I can't wear them for work as my office is always too hot but I'm really looking forward to wearing some nice wooly things on chilly winter walks with my bump.

So what are we all doing today?

mandasand · 01/09/2012 09:11

Morning all! Sometimes I fall asleep like a log and other times I have trouble. Am usually okay at getting back to sleep once I've got up for a wee, but if I'm struggling then DH is probably struggling at the same time (because one or other of us is rustling or sighing or huffing around) so he'll go and have a snack and a tea or a whisky and I'm always straight asleep then. Weird routine we've got ourselves into.

Tramp your cats made me laugh!

Just booked ourselves a car for a few hours (we are in a local car club) so we can go to get paint and go to mothercare for bras/pants/leggings extravangaza. Also optimistically hoping for lunch out. Then I'll settle back to book-writing leaving DH to paint our 'feature wall' in the bedroom and dig down the lottie. Last weekend he also made sauerkraut so I'm secretly hoping for some more culinary adventures tomorrow Smile

tiddleypompom · 01/09/2012 09:39

Happy news everyone - enjoying hearing of special mat clothes purchasing (just bought jeans and turtle neck from IO), allotment digging (we had one for 7 years in Brum and need to get our new one in the garden dug asap), and cat-herding. Sorry to hear of difficult sleeping though. I am pleased to report that, though DS woke briefly at 9.15pm, he then slept till 6.15am! Hoorah!

The sun is out and mum, DS and I are off to the farmers market. DH is making some new wardrobe doors from salvaged wood and DF is strimming the orchard. Very industrious chez us, and at last I am rested enough to enjoy it!

So off I go. Happy Saturday everyone & I hope you ALL get lunch out :)

p.s. think bump has had a growth spurt.

Sheldonella · 01/09/2012 09:42

Ooh, farmers market, how lovely tiddley. You have made me want to go to our farm shop now.

Hope the book goes well today manda. What colour are you painting? Might do a bit more of the nursery today.

Don't think I have energy for our allotment this weekend but might do something in the garden.

No lunch out for me, I have decided that I must have a tin of chicken soup for lunch Grin

theTramp · 01/09/2012 09:57

Some fabulous saturday's are being plotted here.

MrM is now up, which means I can hit the shower and then I think I will persuade him to join me for breakfast in Lordship Lane. This will consist of a vegetarian hotdog from the hot dog man. They are - really really good. I appreciate that this isn't quite the breakfast of champions, but it is calling to me, loudly, in a very persistent voice.

Just chatted away to my parents, and my lovely Dad is coming over on the weekend we're away to fix our slightly dodge electrics, look after the cats and do some cleaning. I would feel guilty but it'll be a massive help and I love them to pieces for offering. So we'll have to head their way the following weekend and cook them dinner I think.

randomswitch · 01/09/2012 10:21

Hullo all, I have posted a thread on the antenatal club asking for advice about how to have a baby on a budget. People have posted some really great tips and advice, so some of you may want to check it out. It is also under active conversations at the moment.
Hope this is helpful.

mandasand · 01/09/2012 10:31

Just a quick peek before we head out (am I addicted to Mumsnet?!) after breakfast of CAKE (!)

www.craigandrose.com/lido-blue This is the colour for our bedroom feature wall. Think something very pale on the others, but we'll see what shade the woodwork comes out first.

Woodwork throughout will be www.farrow-ball.com/wimborne-white/colours//fcp-product/100239. (I know it's expensive but decorator persuaded me it was a good idea for xyz reasons?)

And hallways top and bottom will be www.dulux.co.uk/colour/gentle_fawn (which is nothing like the colour swab on the website!)

Yippee!

Glad DS slept through, tiddley - sounded like you needed a good night's sleep yourself. Hurrah for growth spurt and farmer's market Smile

Oooh random - there's a really good and enormous thread about budgeting - not net for baby but later on, but some good general stuff in there - will post when I find it later on today.

Happy Saturdays all! DH is pacing round the house so better go ? !

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 01/09/2012 10:35

Oh nice work, random!

I am feeling rubbish this morning. Really hungry, worried I have a UTI again and all dizzy and when I got up to make food felt all queasy and had to go and lay back down.

I need DP back! Rubbish rubbish rubbish.

backwardpossom · 01/09/2012 11:02

Well I vommed this morning for the first time this pregnancy... weird as I'd been feeling much better! Grr!

theTramp · 01/09/2012 11:06

Oh you poor thing. Can you have a duvet day? Sofa - pile of DVDs and no stresses...

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 01/09/2012 11:32

Poor us, backward!

Tramp that is exactly what I'm gonna do. I am staying, I am not moving, but I do want someone to make food for me. Where is my slave when I need one!

backwardpossom · 01/09/2012 11:47

Hope you feel a bit better soon, turkish! DH is taking DS swimming to give me a bit of peace soon, so that will be fine. I'm planning a soak in the bath with my Kindle... I have a splitting headache (have had since yesterday :( ) - I think lavender is supposed to help, so I'll stick some lavender oil in.

Sheldonella · 01/09/2012 11:49

Ooh lovely colours manda. Our nursery colour is similar to the fawn.

Sorry you are feeling awful turkish and possom. Agree with tramp - duvet day.

I put my scan picture on facebook this morning and have had lots of lovely lovely comments, very happy with that. People had guessed anyway which is interesting to know.

FloweryBoots · 01/09/2012 12:24

Just catching up on teh last few days, what a lot of lovely scan news. Not long to wait noe for all of us in the 3rd September masive! Mine is at 4.30pm so will be feeling excited adn nervous all day no doubt.

Sickness better than it was but still feeling less than ideal. Not helped today by DS being dreadful in the night, and then I eneded up spending most of the night on the floor in his room, and half of that with him on the floor with me instead of in his cot. It's a tiny room, there was barely enough room for me let along him, and him doing his usual trick of sleeping at right angles to me taking up any possible space. He also got me trapped under the duvet I'd taken in so then I couldn't move at all so now I'm shattered and have a REALLY sore shoulder and neck. I get this periodically and once it's been set off I know I'll have a reall job to shift it - it's muscular but often ends up trapping nerves and causing all sorts of nasty pains and sensations. Nothing for it but to find somewhere I can have a few massages.

Hope you're all having nice weekends. We're being lazy!

theTramp · 01/09/2012 12:54

Just had scrummy vegie dog with 3 cheeses. Yum!

Now pretend coffee & chocolate cake (whoops).

Walk home then work - this evening neighbour has invited us around for dinner.

Lazy Saturday

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 01/09/2012 13:36

Supernoodles for me! Got some energy to make it and feel better- might make some cheese and crackers now...

Should really do the 100s of things on my to do list- but at the moment friends is winning!
