Good morning marchers!!!
I slept right through the night last night I had a nap 6-7 and then tucked up in bed 11-8! I feel fab for it! Perhaps baby is shifting away from my bladder a little?
Train back to Aberdeen at 12. Though this time I have a reserved seat so should be less stressful.
I have scan number 3 tomorrow, with the consultant I have so many questions that have been growing over the past couple of weeks!! I went a bit crazy lady on the phone to OHlast night, I found myself freaking out about the possibility of surgery during pg and the risk of losing an ovary etc!! One of my aunties is a retired MW and was asking why I was having so many scans. I mentioned the cyst and when I told her how big it was she just paused for ages, then my cousin asked what they do about them my Aunty just replied, They remove them before it causes any damage to the baby. So of course all I've had in my head is oh jeez I have to have surgery. When in actual fact it may have shrunk or may not require any input!! Must think positively - I will get some answers tomorrow!!
And I get to see bambi again ... Yipppeeeeeeeeee!

lannyshrops · 29/08/2012 09:07

Very quick one girls... I have a baby Grin 6.5cm and a new EDD of 8.3.13! So so so happy! Shame I have to go to work when I just want so stare at pictures! Xxx

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 29/08/2012 09:09

Oh zoey that sucks! I do know what you mean though- as cute as kittens are...and as for your 36 week aim, you go for it! Cross your legs and that'll do the trick!

I can't wait for the scan updates today!

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 29/08/2012 09:11

Oh congrats lanny!!

theTramp · 29/08/2012 09:12

JoJo - push them to answer all your questions. If needs be write them down before the scan and then jut tick them off. If you don't ask whilst there etc. Hope today's train journey is more fun.

Zoey - Aw shame, poor wee puss but understood. Glad a smile was raised.

Pinky - thanks that's useful. I'll avoid in that case. I was hoping to try some bits & bobs on at weekend but it seems the Isabella Oliver store no longer exists in covent garden (probably hasn't for ages) and I couldn't face the H&M bun fight. I was expecting HoF and John Lewis to have more maternity wear, the selection is actually pretty poor. Ah well, maybe I'll go shopping when we're in Belfast.

MrM thinks I need to write a book called "What the fucks up with that?!" based on my nightly moans about the bizarreness of pregnancy symptoms & fact no-one tells you this stuff. I had him in stitches last night - which wasn't my intention tbh as I was genuinely having a good old moan. He also thinks we should set up an email account for Socrates & email little messages to the bump which we can then keep. I think I'll just set up a folder in drop box - but it's a lovely idea so I'll def set that up. He's starting to get excited now, rather than just deer in headlights. Here's hoping alls still well at next weeks 12 week scan.

It just occurred to me last night why hospital estimate of my weeks preg differs to mine - they're assuming I have a normal 28 day cycle, which of course I don't. So that should put me at 11 weeks 1 day today. Wahoo! I feel like a kid again "I'm 5 and 4.5 months old" :)

Looking forward to hearing scan news updates & ladies with scans tomorrow - almost there!

theTramp · 29/08/2012 09:14

Lanny - Yay!!!!!!!!!

Sheldonella · 29/08/2012 09:15

Morning all. I got quite a good nights sleep! Yay! Only 1 more day until scan (and yours zoey, I hope you have a calm day today). Good luck today sundae and anyone else who is having theirs.
Loving the clothes talk. I'm wearing my cheapy new look maternity jeans today and they are pretty good. Much looser than my old jeans and they don't dig into my stomach at all.
Tramp Loving your outfit ideas, mine too are now based around flats. I have put away all my heels sniff. I'm still looking on ebay for isabella oliver but I might treat myself to a new wrap dress if I can't find anything. I'm hoping they wash well because I will wear it loads.
manda I can't believe that charity said that, how horrible that is! We have been donating a small amount monthly to cancer research and they keep sending us letters to try to get us to up the amount. I won't call them because I do still want to keep giving and don't want to hear them say anything like that.
Lexi Pram sounds great, defintely worth snapping it up. I have been staring at peoples prams in the street, I suspect people are starting to think I'm a bit weird :)
I'm wondering what I should say to the sonographer tomorrow about nub theory - those that have managed to find out, did you ask about it or did they just do it? I have heard some sonographers just won't want to get into that at all but I would love a clue!
I have just found out one of my best friends is 5 weeks pregnant which is lovely. She is very very sick and has been asking me for advice. It feels good to use the experience to help someone else.
Sorry to anyone I've missed - tiny screen and at work. Have a good day everyone.

Sheldonella · 29/08/2012 09:16

Ooh, great news lanny. So happy for you :)

JoJoBella84 · 29/08/2012 09:30

Fabby news lanny! Who else was for scans today?

zoeymlucas · 29/08/2012 09:31

No calm day here my lovely assistant had just phoned in sick with SHINGLES after sitting next to me all day yesterday - are you fricking kidding me! I havent had chicken pox either so hospital want me in at 4 for bloody tests today, got to laugh other wise I might cry might change my screen name to unlucky, lol!!

JoJoBella84 · 29/08/2012 09:41

Oh zoey that's not fab news :( I haven't had chicken pox either but some people are immune to the infection anyway. I hope it's all fine, roll on 4pm when you can release the crazy! Until then, try to relax xxx

mandasand · 29/08/2012 09:44

Lanny WOOHOOOOOO! So very pleased for you!

Emus my boobs stopped hurting a long while back and they aren't any bigger! Occasionally I wonder if my nipples are a bit bigger (maybe) but I think that's me looking for clues! Regardless my 12-week scan was FINE! We just all react differently to pregnancy, don't worry! Smile remind me about this when I'm in between scans and worrying too

Oh Funny that's awful but hilarious! I'd go for bit by bit Eastenders special stylee!

Hey JoJo no panicking allowed till you know something for sure! Then you can come and hand hold so it will be okay anyway. Hope funeral went alright and was a fitting tribute and send off. I can't believe you're getting on the Aberdeen train again so soon! Take snacks!

Tramp I've been so pissed off that almost every normal shop I've been in in Oxford, Reading and Westfield has said 'noooo, we don't stock maternity clothes. why don't you try online', to which the answer is 'because I want to try them on', grr! To be fair, Westfield has a Mamas and Papas which has some nice stuff (but it was too early to buy when I was there) and we do have an out-of-town Mothercare a couple of miles away - surely they will at least do leggings etc? The time has definitely come of a pair of leggings. My size 12s do not fit comfortably and I'm at the limit with mmy couple of 14s!! Yikes!

Oh and Tramp: too cute about the emailing baby idea! Lovely? It's nice when the men start getting excited isn't it? Mine over the last week or two has got really into it. Talking to belly, planning etc. Superb.

Agh, bad news for shingles, zoey - hope blood test goes well.

Welcome newbie Doodle!

ThreeForTea · 29/08/2012 09:52

Ah lovely early scan news lanky! How exciting :)

Eeek zoey that's not what you need :(

Tramp write the book! Can all give stories.

jojo really hope your journey goes well today

Quite excited about work appointment today, will be dosed up.with paracetamol and sea bands probably, but it's out the house, yay.

Yeah probably mixed the packs up.a bit confuddled there are just so many things to collect!

zoeymlucas · 29/08/2012 09:52

Congrats on your scan lanny roll on home time so you can go and lovingly gaze at your pictures of baby :)

Lexiindisguise · 29/08/2012 09:58

Aww, great news, Lanny!
Glad to know people don't think I am a total nutter for buying the buggy, too. 13 weeks seems super early but I think we got a really good deal. It's a Quinny Buzz 3.
Well after feeling much better for a week, I've taken the day off sick today due to a combination of insomnia for three night, upset stomach and dizziness. DP thinks I have been overdoing it because I feel better, and we had weekend visitors so I didn't rest much. Feel sorry for myself but also v guilty for taking the time off work Blush
zoey hope the tests come back fine - you poor thing!

JoJoBella84 · 29/08/2012 10:10

manda it was nice to see the family together but I found the whole service a very depressing affair!!
Perhaps because I'm not religious, perhaps because that's the very nature of funerals, perhaps just because of the timing of everything!
Things picked up after the service though and the mood was much lighter. Ultimately my gran loved having the family together for communal meals and that's just what we did!
I can't get over just how depressing some of the hymns were.
I like my mums idea for a funeral. Everyone turns up as the blues brothers and we have a little dance in our seats!

My oh has taken to talking to my tummy! I think it's cute!

Snacks will be purchased as will emergency energy drink must get my arse into gear and sort out all the paperwork I need to take with me!!

ThreeForTea · 29/08/2012 10:11

I find it really hard not to overdo it when I feel the slightest ounce of energy so sympathies lexi! Especially if you have quite a high capacity usually. Is it very awkward with work to take time off?

FloweryBoots · 29/08/2012 10:15

Emus My boobs are still teeny tine, no bigger at all, and don't hurt in the slightest.

Whoever had the mat clothes librabry idea - it's fab! I would DEFINATELY do that if it were available.

Morning sickness is improving gradually, I had even gone 3 days without being sick (still feeling sick a fair bit, but at least not actually vomiting) until this morning.

Last day off work today. Have been loving spending so much time with DS and not having to go to a job I hat and feel so uncomfortable in. Hey ho. Not long till Mat leave! And will leave early next Monday for scan at 4.30pm, and next Friday finishing at lunch ready to go and visit friends for the weekend which will be lovely as well also get to anounce our news to a whole group of friends who are all getting together all at once.

Lexiindisguise · 29/08/2012 10:29

Thanks three - it's easy to charge ahead and not realise you've done too much! We were moving desks at work yesterday too so lots of crawling round unplugging wires, moving monitors etc.
Work are very good about me taking time off but we are also so busy that I know this will put me behind where I should be. Panicking a bit about how much I need to do before we go on holiday in three weeks. Hoping I feel better tomorrow as need to get my head down & get on with it.

theTramp · 29/08/2012 10:39

Zoey - oh that's a pisser. Fingers crossed with scans etc this pm.

3 for tea - I may start scribbling rather than mat clothes online shopping

Mand - it's really frustrating! And I'm so glad it's not just me who is getting frustrated. And yes v cute to see MrM start to get properally involved.

It's all home improvements & movie talk here today - happy days!

DontSayWhatSayPardon · 29/08/2012 10:50

Congrats lanny! You must be delighted. Such a weight off when you get past that scan. Enjoy! Smile

sarahs999 · 29/08/2012 10:51

Sorry -not caught up but ladies, I need your help. CONSTIPATION! I have just had a very unpleasant half hour in the ladies loo at work. What can I take to help it? I feel like I'm going to push the bloody baby out I'm straining so hard (sorry if you're eating/queasy/delicate natured!). I've got a feeling the extra progesterone I'm taking is making it worse. Think we might have discussed this on ane earlier thread but I didn't take much notice as it wasn't affecting me then....

Sheldonella · 29/08/2012 11:06

sarah Muesli with plain yoghurt for breakfast followed by a cup of coffee when I get to work works for me. If I do that each day, I'm better but if I eat something else for breakfast it comes back.
Well, I'm wasting time looking at car seats now. Any recommendations for these? I was thinking of getting the kit to attach it to the pram too rather than buying a carrycot type thing. Is this a good idea?

zoeymlucas · 29/08/2012 11:07

Prune/ orange juice is good for constipation and lots of fruit - plase dont strain as you will get piles sorry if TMi and then you will seriously be in pain

I just told my boss as I had no choice with the shingles thing and his reply was 'ow for fuck sake' and can I email him the exact details as he cant even pretend he will remember and when I went to walk out the room he said ' ow i best say congradulations I suppose'. His comment you could sell it to so and so and save them IVF really helped matters - yes I always go through 7/8 months of hard work and pain to sell the baby! Typical man with no idea of how to react so thinks he is super funny. He even ask if it was a congradulations situation - I am a 28 year old married woman not a 14 year old at school - I sort of know what I am doing well most of the time :)

FloweryBoots · 29/08/2012 11:08

Sarah - you could try Flaxseed. Springkle a spoonful into poridge or breakfast cereal. I haven't tried it myself but it's supposed to be good.
