OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Bubbless · 02/09/2012 12:14

goodness, is there any test or anything that can be done so you know you have it for sure? or do you just have to go on how it feels?
:/

Secondsop · 02/09/2012 13:25

mwahmwah I think I've got SPD. Am getting a pain in my pelvic area on the left side and I can sometimes feel the clicking feeling too. Am seeing the midwife tomorrow so will raise it with her.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 02/09/2012 16:29

God I'm knackered already and we've not even seen our event yet! Lol kids are in the 'mascot house' getting pictures with mascots, colouring in, getting their faces painted and watching a movie! I'm sitting in a nice comfy sofa! Lol

utopian99 · 02/09/2012 17:31

Sending sympathy to spd people, doesn'tsound fun.

In addition to my aunt giving us stuff, I've just been to pick up our Miyo hammock from someone off Gumtree. Lovely seller, who then gave me 80 newborn nappies her son was too big for that Tesco wouldn't let her return. Have put it up in our bedroom to look at and it's gorgeous! So happy.. Grin

DH back at 10 tonight from stag do; he's been texting from Amsterdam with hilarious stories of awful drunkenness of one of the other stags. Now off to finish painting the bathroom!

mwahmwah · 02/09/2012 17:52

Don't think there's a test as such, but docs seem to diagnose pretty easily from ur symptoms. I had painkillers and was offered a bump support thing, but my friend ended up on crutches Shock

FriendofDorothy · 02/09/2012 17:53

I bought a lovely nursing chair and footstool for £50 off a FB baby items for sale forum. It's lovely and will be perfect for the baby's room.

emilyeggs · 02/09/2012 19:23

Got my car seat, pushchair and crib arriving tomorrow Grin think I'm all sorted nearly. Next is the hospital bag to sort, will have to think about that one Hmm

kate2boysandabump · 02/09/2012 20:25

emily, friend and utopian you all sound like you've made exciting purchases over the weekend. It was really lucky to get all those extra nappies too Smile

bubbless and secondsop SPD can be in any of the three joints in your pelvis. I suffer much more with the back 2 joints, the front joint cam later for me. There is lots of information on the pelvic partnership website. There is also lots of information about how you can protect your pelvis to help keep it stable, like keeping your knees together when you get in and out of bed and in and out of the car and to keep your knees as close together as you can. I've been following all the advice from last time and it does seem to be helping. I was already in a bad way at this point last time and I was on crutches from 28 weeks Sad But I feel much better this time and although it's there it is manageable at this point. If it does develop make sure you get physio after the birth, it's very important to get things back in the right place. [kate climbs off soap box [blush[ ]

Like Mwah, I didn't have any strong painkillers in labour with ds2 and managed to give birth o him with my knees about 30cm apart. I just ignored the midwife when she told me there wasn't enough room. Turns out I was right Grin

I've been and bought a few more bits and pieces today, while dh took the boys and the dogs out hiking. I felt very happy and content, until I picked them up and all 5 of them were covered in mud and they all smelled too Hmm

CODwidow · 02/09/2012 21:04

kate I have also suffered in previous pregnancies with spd and this time I've followed the advice and I haven't had any real pain at all this time so your words of wisdom do work! Grin

Bellaboo123 · 02/09/2012 21:29

Evening all not envying the spd hope u all manage to keep under control.
We did a big more shopping today, now have all the cot bedding and a few more newborn bits as I had a bit of a gap. Now all that's left to buy is the car seat and SIL is buying us that!
I've just looked at my notes from MW appt and it says baba is lying transverse - anything I should worry about or norm at this stage? Confused!

CODwidow · 02/09/2012 21:57

Transverse is across your belly and pretty normal at this stage Smile

I'm just sat writing my list for my hospital bag so any input is appreciated!Smile (you'd never believe I've done this 4 times before) Blush

kate2boysandabump · 02/09/2012 21:58

Thanks COD I feel like I'm already in 'bonus time' this pregnancy, as things were already bad at this stage last time. So anytime form here on that I'm OK for, is a bonus.

Bella A transverse lie, is the baby lying across you. There's still plenty of time and room for the bay to turn in. My baby is still turning all around, feet by my bladder one day and ribs the next

Is anyone struggling to sleep on their left? I know I'm supposed to, but I keep waking up back on my right. Then when I roll back, baby protests. Maybe I should give up.

Bellaboo123 · 02/09/2012 22:03

Thanks Cod and Kate - how can you tell which way theyre laying? I'd love to be able to! Do you have a prod?
I'm going to start on hospital bag soon but just don't know where to start! And being a bit lazy!

CODwidow · 02/09/2012 22:09

I won't be buying for it until the last weekend of sept and packing it beginning of oct but thought I'd write a list to work out a vague cost.

To feel where they are try finding a hard round bit which is usually the bum! It gets much easier in the next few weeks.

kate this is also my bonus time and I actually say thank you every morning when I'm able to get out of bed without rolling out 'clicking'.

FriendofDorothy · 02/09/2012 22:25

kate I have found having a Dream Geni pillow very useful to stop me rolling onto my back.

EggsMichelle · 02/09/2012 22:31

Hope the SPD ladies are getting plenty of rest in comfy positions and making their OH wait on them.

Shrimpy always kicks and protests when I lay on my left, but he gives up when I refuse to budge!

Been away from home for one night, one cat has gone feral and the other won't leave us alone, iv had to let him on the bed to stop his complaining and door banging!

Got our Moses basket today from aunt, a bit frilly, but I might make a new less fussy cover for it, plus they had a cat net.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/09/2012 07:09

So dp gets up and goes downstairs whilst I open my weary eyes Wink I'm contemplating getting up when he comes back and goes in the bathroom for a good ten minutes!! Surely he knows to make sure I've been first?! I know I'm being irrational but I don't care. Then the light bulbs downstairs blew and made me jump Blush

Then a box that he had left on the stairs got caught on my pj bottoms and followed me down. Also our water is being turned off today so I quickly put the towel in for a wash only to discover his stinky wet football kit in there! I love him more than anything but he gives me the rage sometimes AngryGrin

PurplePidjin · 03/09/2012 08:48

Camping at 27 weeks is not to be recommended, dp is off to the next show on his own and we'll be saving to hire a proper camper for next year's season! Lovely to see the shocked look on the faces of people i only see a couple of times a year though :o

FriendofDorothy · 03/09/2012 08:58

I have been camping for the last couple of weeks. As long as you have a decent bed it isn't too bad.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/09/2012 09:01

Welcome back pidj!

PurplePidjin · 03/09/2012 09:05

Lilo. And 20yo single skin pointy frame tent even shortarse me can't stand up straight in. And lots of sitting on the grass watching the night racing...

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 03/09/2012 09:36

Morning everyone!

You all seem to be cracking on with the shopping now! It very exciting!

So sorry for all of those with spd symptoms. I'm really hoping my hip pain is just that and not spd, it does not sound nice!

Well I've just woken up as has dd but ds is still sleeping soundly in his bed! We didn't get in until midnight though so it is a recommended lie in! Lol had a great time! Got to see a load of finals and a load of medal ceremonies too! Even a team gb gold! I absolutely did not get weepy when my dcs stood and proudly sang the national anthem I'm already feeling it today though. I'm hoping to be AR to get some work done but it seems unlikely right now!

EggsMichelle · 03/09/2012 10:14

After being rudely woken at 4.30 by a nightmare followed by the cat attacking my feet (they are never sleeping upstairs again) I have dragged myself to work! I think I have a cold brewing, but I stocked up on some very odd Tesco sandwiches and hope that I last until 3.

Got to pick the dog up from the kennels and get the house back in order, im convinced the cats had a party while we were away.

lauraloo09 · 03/09/2012 10:33

Morning everyone DH got up with DD at 7 and le me sleep on and I'm just up Blush but I don't sleep a night due to SPD so really needed the sleep. My SPD is from my left hip/groin area right round to my back. My physio advised my pelvic bones are out of alignment and the exercises given aren't fixing it so far :( have been on crutches for a month, only used them for walking long distances at first but now using them all the time except in the house which I feel I'm going to need to start doing :( have been prescribed co-codamol 8/500which is helping but hate taking it.

Glad to hear everyone enjoying their shopping sprees lol don't think there is much left for me to get, really just need a crib now buy MIL said she would buy thi for us :) so its just hospital bag stuff and nappies/formula and wipes and that's me set, going to buy a few months worth in oct/nov so I don't need to leave house in dec seen as th way things are going on top if my traumatic labour last time Im thinking of asking for a elcs.

Sorry for the long post lol

itsMYNutella · 03/09/2012 11:58

Hello! I've been away on holiday for a few days and I'm really sorry but you lot don't half chatter :o so please forgive me for not being able to catch up on everything!
So sorry some of you are suffering hip pain and worse with spd :( oh dear... I'll make some cake and biscuits to pass around! How is the sobbing sofa? I needed some time on it last weekend. I was overtaken by rage one minute and then sobbing the next. DP lost it with me at one point -packing is always stressful though - and it was a good job we had a few days to relax together. I think we both needed a change of scenery.
Everything is good here otherwise. Dr's appointment this afternoon... I know I'm going to get told off about weight gain; again... ho hum!

Best wishes to everyone!
