SpottyTeacakes · 23/08/2012 12:36

I've got really bad lower back ache today, like period pain aches. Bit rubbish.

Bubbless · 23/08/2012 13:17

mwha i cried watching the recorded mw's program this morning if that helps! i also keep looking at all of the women going '.. it cant hurt that much.. can it?!'

cookies i think im going to have to soldier on and finish on the 20th dec, due on 2nd jan.. because the schools break up and im then on paid holiday can i put down that i want to start my mat leave on the 2/1? means il get paid properly for most of the xmas hols..!? anyone else paid pro rata?!
glad there is someone else in my postition though, i wont feel as bad if i finish work early!! dreading going back to work, was in tears about it this morning runs to crying sofa..

clarella hope your banana bread is nice, i tried to make some the other day and forgot the bicarb so it was a disaster... baby brain kicking in- however, im a chef.... mildly concerned about going back to work!!

spotty very jelous of your going to see michael mcintyre!!

i havent noticed any patterns in babys movement yet, but i scrap all worry, just felt a kick! hadent felt any movement as of yet today! when do they settle into a pattern?

annelid · 23/08/2012 13:41

Non baby related! But just wanted to share that my eldest daughter got straight A* in her GCSE's today!! Really pleased for her.

PurplePidjin · 23/08/2012 13:45

Bubbless, about 28 weeks - I'm over a month ahead of you and only just starting to spot sort of patterns (25+6)

Annelid, that's fantastic :o

Barbeasty · 23/08/2012 13:55

Utopian I used terry squares and motherease airflow wraps from a couple of weeks with DD and they worked really well. You can adjust the fold to fit your baby, and according to what you need. There are loads of you tube videos showing different folds.

I'm not on the sofa, but getting very close to having the rage!

I've been in a meeting all morning, and missed a call from the pushchair shop. But the message they've left says it isn't possible to convert my pushchair to a double.

That goes against what another shop and the icandy website says! So I have filled in the online form to contact icandy to get a definitive answer!

Both shops got their answer from icandy. One phoned while we were there, the other from their rep. Surely the answer should be the same?!

knottyhair · 23/08/2012 15:14

That's brilliant Annelid Smile!

WeeJo08 · 23/08/2012 15:17

Annelid Wow! That is amazing! Celebratory dinner planned? Delighted for you all :)

Bubbles The only "pattern" I have is that baby wakes up as I go to bed! That's when I get the most definite and strongest kicks. (I'm 24+3)

Spotty I'm with you on the lower back pain. My lower left hand side has been sore for a week or two and now the rest of my back is quite sore too. I think it'll probably just continue now as bump gets bigger! Might be cheeky and mention it to MW next week as our hospital has free maternity acupuncture so maybe she'll refer me!! It doesn't help sitting at a desk!

knottyhair · 23/08/2012 15:22

Spotty, I woke up with backache this morning as well. I just seem to have some days when it's worse than others and doesn't seem to relate to how I've slept or anything. I must admit I just thought it was because I'm ancient!
Bubbles, I usually feel a bit of movement first thing in the morning but she's definitely the most active when I'm watching TV in the evening and after eating ice-cream.

itsMYNutella · 23/08/2012 15:32

ooohhh weejo thanks for the idea about the acupuncture! I'm not keen but I'm fed up of this ligament pain on the right side... my next appointment is in about 10 days and they are great here about alternative therapies!

Bubbbles I've simply noticed that when bean is active it goes on for a while and is sometime in the afternoon and sometime in the evening. There might also be some movement in the morning but I haven't noticed it as much Hmm plus I'm often busy in the morning so that might have made a difference...

Bubbless · 23/08/2012 15:54

anne wow, congrats to your dd! thats amazing!

pidjin thats good then, i worry sometimes when i dont feel her at the same time!

barbesty if when icandy call they say you can do it can you order the bits over the phone? means that at least somethings being done?!

im so grumpy at SIL today, she met up with my dp / her bro for lunch, (she hates me, i hate her) and they have obvs been talking about me and now wants to meet up so we can braid each others hair or something.. eurgh
and i really want something mushroom based for lunch.. anyone?!

SpottyTeacakes · 23/08/2012 15:58

Annelid that's amazing you must be very proud!

Yes I think it's sitting at a desk really not helping with the aches and pains.

Dp saw me naked thus morning (usually I'm up after him) and said 'oh your bump doesn't look so big today' he was quite surprised when I told him it gets bigger throughout the day! He only usually sees me naked in the evening!

utopian99 · 23/08/2012 16:34

annelid Hurrah for your daughter, what good news!

I also haven't noticed any major patterns yet, and am definitely getting th backache, although thought it was my scoleosis playing up, it may be the bump making it worse.. Also, spotty I'm like you - bump definitely grows as the day goes on!

Barbeasty · 23/08/2012 18:05

If they call.... But I don't think I can. It will mean I can go with confidence to a shop and order it, knowing what I need though. It's just so frustrating, especially when I'd finally made a decision (which I'm not known for!)

Annelid- that's great news. No pressure on the bump to perform in 16 years...

Bubbless · 23/08/2012 20:16

definitely on the crying sofa now.
DP's just told me hes got a POS change at work tonight, wont be home till 11.30pm then is expected back in at 6.45am tomorrow morning.
eurgh :'(

acjfluff · 23/08/2012 20:40

Bubbless I'll join you! Having a really rough time with family stuff. Anyone got any chocolate cake?

SpottyTeacakes · 23/08/2012 20:41

Stupid heartburn. Stupid Gaviscon for not working Sad

Bubbless that sounds rubbish poor you (and your dp)

SpottyTeacakes · 23/08/2012 20:42

Oh I make the best chocolate cake well I think so anyway

EggsMichelle · 23/08/2012 20:47

Congratulations Annelid, proud mum syndrome!!!

Bubbless you will have to demand extra cuddles tomorrow night to make up for tonight, it's crappy.

Horrified I have gained 1st7lb through the pregnancy, doesn't help I was holiday eating last week but that is still no excuse. So today I have walked 3miles with the dog, swam 40lengths and hoovered. Ignoring the fact I ate two massive bowls of coco pops for breakfast!!!

Bubbless · 23/08/2012 20:50

ive got fairy cakes but they just arnt hitting the mark, i need something containing more calories!
trying to make myself feel better, by sorting out the spare room / nursery- however, successfully made myself feel worse because ive had to sort out the clothes that dont fit me any more- how depressing!

eggs i havent weighed myself.. i think this is the best way!

ellliebelle · 23/08/2012 21:11

Sorry to hear some of you are having bad days :( ive had an ok day although i think the nesting is kicking in today, ive cleaned a couple of kitchen cuboards out and all the front of cuboards. Then tidied through all the toys in the dd's room and vaced under their beds then later on sorted through some other stuff to make space for storing new baby stuff

pmgkt · 23/08/2012 21:16

i had my consultants appointment today and they told me that they dont think there is any need for a second c section and so said no. i have talked through with them about labour and they wont let me go so long next time due to risks of scar rupture and if i really want it i can appeal which involoves going to another couple of appointments, can refuse induction if i go over again though and have a section then. going to take a few days to think about it before definately deciding against an appeal and maybe chat through with midwife.

Mummycox · 23/08/2012 21:18

Sending salted caramel cupcakes to the sofa.

It's almost Friday Smile

WillYouDoTheFandango · 23/08/2012 21:54

Even better it's almost the bank holiday weekend

Congrats to your dd annelid

Today I officially feel humungous! I did my shopping and could reach the bottom shelf or lean into the trolley. And my belly button is looking suspiciously shallow, there will be a giasy fit the day it pops out. I am warning you all to avoid, mums net that day!

Now does anyone have a clue about mattresses? I have a hand-me-down cotbed but the mattress options ate terrifying. How can a teeny tiny mattress cost £200? Is there any point in buying such a dear one? Sow one just tell me which to buy and put me out of my misery!

SpottyTeacakes · 23/08/2012 21:57

Willyou we got a kiddicare sprung mattress for dd, still going strong. It was a mid price one of their own brand. Will try find it Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 23/08/2012 22:01

Oh I can't work out how to link on my iPhone. Have a look on kiddicare though they are good Smile
