Oh swiss sorry it's still all so crap :-( I hate the old cliche but time really will make it all better.

I'm having real body image issues today. Up until today I loved my baby bump but when i tried on a size 8/10 maternity dress to wear tomorrow for DH's family's selfish impromptu visit I could barely do the zip up and just looked really really fat. I've suffered with various eating disorders since my early teens and for the first time ever was beginning to love my new fat pregnant body shape. I know I'm being pathetic but I can't get over how crap and horrible and huge I'll look beside DH's 3 stunning sisters. He just sees the funny side of it, grrr. Sorry for ranting, just having a crappy moment...

Evilwater · 28/07/2012 20:33

Nun- I hope you kept your job,
SAK- I hope your chap wakes up soon. They can be very dense.

I still have three names in mind, and I'll pick one when he comes out.

For the nappies we will go for disposable, as the Dryer eats electric, it usally takes two cycles to get our washing dry! And I only have so much space to dry things as it is, never mind baby stuff!

The only time my feet swell is when I'm at work, I really dislike at the moment. Some people arn't getting that I'm 6 months pregnant. When I mentioned I take the lift, the looks on people's faces Angry

Evilwater · 28/07/2012 20:34

Miss mummy- I've gone from a size 12 to a size 16. It's crazy!

ValiumQueen · 28/07/2012 20:34

missMummy I was going to slap you and say it is impossible to look fat at size 8-10. With your history though, I will not. I will, however, say that your body is beautiful because you are growing a baby, and this is not something that you can have any control over. When you have these negative thoughts, try to replace them with happy squidgy baby thoughts. As for the 3gorgeous sisters, they will be looking at you thinking how beautiful you look carrying their scrum my little niece/nephew. As for DH he seems to have twatitis. It is going around at the moment it seems.

swiss sorry you have had a bad day. Well done on housework, but remember not to overdo things. Good you have joined the thread - the other ladies will be able to help more as they are living it too. Hope you are not on that thread for long, although if he carrys on like this you may well see it as a blessing in disguise. Thinking of you x

ShellyBobbs · 28/07/2012 20:41

Grrrrrr, just been into someone with shingles all over their face! Spoke to a midwife who told me as I've had chickenpots then I should be immune but have to go to the ante-natal clinic for a blood test just to check.

Someones head is going to roll for this...........

Evilwater · 28/07/2012 20:45

Shelley- that not to bad. I've had a letter to say I've been In contact with someone with tb, at work.

The joys of working in the hospital.

ValiumQueen · 28/07/2012 20:51

shelly you should be fine, but naughty of that person - did they know you are pg? I should have probably gone for a blood test when DD2 had the pox last week then?

evil tb. Not good. A risk with my client group too.

Evilwater · 28/07/2012 20:57

Valium, I have to carry a letter around for two years!
Fecking great.

Evilwater · 28/07/2012 20:58

Anyone else getting food on the bump?
Evil

ValiumQueen · 28/07/2012 21:07

evil really? Seems a bit OTT? And by food on the bump do you mean dropping food? If so then no. My boobs though - all the time!

ValiumQueen · 28/07/2012 21:11

I am shattered today. Went to my mums with DH and the kids, and foolishly thought I would be able to just relax and chill, not having to hobble after 2yo, but no! DH asleep, along with my dad, mum making the dinner, and muggins trying to cope in a house with no stair gates or other kiddy proofing. DD2 whacked DH after a while. I saw it coming but did nothing to stop it. He denied being asleep. Git

ShellyBobbs · 28/07/2012 21:13

Let's just say if paperwork held the proper information it's there to hold then I would never have been sent into this person, it's further up the line that have f*ed up.

I know it's not really bad for my situation but I could have gone in there without ever having chickenpots and could have put myself at risk inadvertently (without going into too much info), it's maddening when it just comes down to lazy b***ds not doing things properly, I'm putting in an official complaint.

TB. Fantastic, just what you needed hey! I regularly go to people with c-diff and only find out off them that they have it, nothing in the paperwork!

You can't wear shoes that are open but we'll certainly put your health at risk by missing important information in the paperwork. Welcome to Britian!

Evilwater · 28/07/2012 21:21

Valium-yep!
The officail statement is, as follows:
My records note that I have has the BGC which should have given you some protection against TB.

TB has a long incubation period, but in most cases will produce systems within two years of infection.
Please contact your GP showing him this letter.

Nice huh! Talking to one of the girls at work this letter was a month late. The icing on the cake!

Evilwater · 28/07/2012 21:24

Shelley I've been told by alot of My colleagues that i have nothing to worry about c diff patients.

Evil

Evilwater · 28/07/2012 21:27

Valium- yes dropping food. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

ValiumQueen · 28/07/2012 21:27

Good old NHS. Makes me proud! A couple of years back when the Swine Flu was in full swing, I was pg with DD2. As I work in a frontline high risk clinic, we were all sent to Occ health for our jags. They refused to give it to me as I was pg. the most vulnerable person in the clinic was not being protected. I went and sat in the office with the Service Manager, refusing to be discriminated against and not protected. I had the jag before the end of my shift, and a written apology.

Evilwater · 28/07/2012 21:30

Valium good for you!
I hope to be on the board regularly now, as I have alot of nights.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/07/2012 21:34

Yep, my bump gets in the way of my food going on the floor too! I even got some hedgehog cake in my cleveage this afternoon!

ValiumQueen · 28/07/2012 21:47

Lucky hedgehog!

Well I am off to bed. Accompanied by indigestion, this fecking cast, my bump which I swear is kicking me under the ribs! Grr! I do, however, plan to continue my lovely dream about a young Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones. Ooh I could so give him one!

Chunkychicken · 28/07/2012 23:28

I am dropping food SO much lately, and its getting down my bra and caught between bra & bump, requiring someone else to fish it out because I can't see it Blush DH think he's in heaven, being a tit-man or should that read tit Grin

TheDetective · 29/07/2012 00:39

Yes Swiss was me that added you! Always around on fb if you need a chat! People always think they are 'different'. They rarely are. But there are more considerate ones out there! No one is perfect, but the ones who try hard are worth keeping! See what the days ahead bring - be patient, if you want him to come back. But don't you be the one to go running to him. He left, it is his mess to sort out.

Evil I'm another food dropper! Think its mostly when sat on the sofa eating! Plate seems much further away these days! I burnt a nipple last week Grin damn stir fry sauce!

I'm definitely feeling the undesirable side effects of pregnancy now! Elephantitis feet are back, and I have done nothing all day! Oh, and heartburn too VQ! Grrrr.

Had a lovely evening at my mums though, trying to persuade my mums husbands daughter to move close to where we live! She would get a lot more support being more local (2 pre-schoolers). She really likes the idea of moving closer - but is worried about areas, so have been chatting to her and looking at houses on rightmove. Saw some fab houses, and now I'm gutted because I want one too! Nothing wrong with my house - just always like a change ;) Would be nice to have someone nearby who I get on with and also has children. I find it hard to relate to a lot of people as my situation is unusual I guess. I have a few friends, but not many. I find a lot of people intolerable. However, I find much more like minded people on MN than I do in RL - where are they all hiding!!

Felt really bad on (I guess technically my step sister, although we did not grow up together - I was 17 and she 20 when my mum met her now husband) mums husbands daughter. Her eldest bit DS on the tummy, breaking skin and bruising it. I think he just got over excited. DS was fine, and laughed it off. But she was mortified! She wouldn't have it that I wasn't bothered! He's not even 4, DS is 10, so hardly a baby, he's had worse playing football! Then her youngest pulled a glass lamp off a shelf. I think she wanted to curl up and cry! Children do these things! My mum wasn't bothered, more worried about him hurting himself on the glass! I hope she does move closer, we only get to see each other once or twice a year - usually its just christmas eve we all get together!

Evil and Shelly Sounds like the usually competent NHS that does ;)

SwissArmyWife · 29/07/2012 10:04

Detective Thanks :) We'll have to wait and see what happens I suppose! I'm not holding out any hope that things will get fixed though, definitely not before the baby arrives.

My PGP has flared up today, and I feel horribly sick with a lovely case of heartburn to go with it. Ugh. Think I might have a nap while DD has hers!

ValiumQueen · 29/07/2012 10:22

Deffo nap when DD does. You really need to be taking it easy swiss. Are you ok to cope financially?

detective your son sounds as if he coped very well with the biter. How did you burn a nipple? We're you eating in the nude? There must be a story in there!

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/07/2012 10:40

I drop food down my bump all the time but I'm a messy eater anyway but where it used to fall to the floor my bump catches it!

Meant to be seeing mil this morn but she hadn't answered dh's text because she's still in bed Hmm I just want to get it out the way so I can carry on with the day instead we're sitting around not able to do anything waiting for her reply.

This aft we're seeing FIL and his wife, I like going round to see them.

MissMummy1 · 29/07/2012 10:52

Still waiting for inlaws. They were meant to be with us at 9 - have just phoned saying they're leaving Aberdeen - 3 hours away!!!
