Great scan news gen & frootz and good luck for yours far

frootz I feel weird talking to my dad about anything to do with being pregnant. It just doesn't feel right!

nutella I really can't believe your skin affected the scan, I'm sure they said that to excuse their poor scanning technique Smile

munx sounds like we'll be welcoming the next brooking baby next week then! Hope you're pleased about it?

rubberbullets are you a name change or am I being a thicko? Grin

HaveALittleFaith · 26/08/2012 17:35

Hello preggo brookers! I was a brooker for a long time although failed in my optimism around the time we discovered we'd need medical intervention and I'm finally diffed! :) it was suggested I come over and say hello. Mind if I join you?

I am 5+2!

itsMYNutella · 26/08/2012 17:39

Helllooooooo

Brooking for Munx for tomorrow!

Littleit wasn't my normal dr do I'll talk to my (much nicer) Dr when her I see her next time, see of she can do a better job... Although my Dr is also very honest and would just tell me if I'm fat Confused

We're off on Holiday this week, not decided where yet. DP only got the time ok'd at the last minute because we realised it was our last chance, because of DP's works and then me not being able to travel.... But I'll definitely be popping in for news munx :)

itsMYNutella · 26/08/2012 17:41

Hello and welcome Faith! Along with massive CONGRATULATIONS :)

ReturnOfTheMunx · 26/08/2012 17:44

scarletfingernail · 26/08/2012 18:01

Wow Faith Huge congratulations! Thanks I remember you, I'm so so pleased you've got your BFP

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 27/08/2012 09:06

Congratulations faith! Do you mind me asking if you needed intervention in the end? How's your kitchen now?

Good luck munx

I have piles, sob. Luckily they're not painful (yet)... I love being pregnant but I confess I'm counting down now! 6 weeks to go...

OP posts:
RubberBullets · 27/08/2012 09:13

Fluff piles don't have to be painful, mine never were. HTH

HaveALittleFaith · 27/08/2012 09:21

6 weeks fluffy? Is that all?! Get Mr Fluffy out to buy you some anusol :)

We did and didn't have help. DH had a hormonal imbalance caused any a growth on his pituitary gland. This caused high prolactin/low testosterone/poor sperm count and motility. The week after the fire (busy week!) they discovered this on a scan and gave him a medication. We hoped it would be quite quick after that - assuming it takes 70 days for sperm to get from production to delivery but I got ill - abdo pain - and was in hospital for a week which didn't help. I'm waiting on a op for that, turned out it was a blockage in my urinary tract, possibly caused by a moving kidney stone but I doubt they'll do it now I'm diffed. The BFP this month was wanted but a tad unexpected! We were on holiday and only did it twice around the right time! Ironically we'd seen a Locum consultant for gynae a month before who said he thought our best chance of conception was IVF but I needed to get my BMI under 30 (it was 31) before they could refer me. I was a bit Hmm because DH's test results were within normal ranges and the regular consultant had said if that was the case then there was no reason why we couldn't conceive naturally. I think the Locum looked at how long we'd been TTC rather than how long it was since DH had been treated. Does that make sense? I think I rambled!

Yes the house is virtually back to normal. Moved home in June but only got the insurance money 4 weeks ago so just finishing the shopping for the last bits of furniture. We redesigned the kitchen/living room so the corner where the fire was isn't part of the kitchen but a dining area which really helps. I still get anxious but we're a lot better :)
So I'd got off my rather wobbly arse and started walking 3-5k most days and eating healthily. I think that helped!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 27/08/2012 10:32

That's a relief to know rubber! (Are you a namechanger? :) )

Wow have you've both really been through the mill this year! It's clearly a much-deserved bfp :)
I'm so pleased your DH's hormonal problems have been sorted out - does he feel better for it, or does he not really notice a difference? I hope you're not in too much discomfort with your blockage, that sounds painful Shock

Yay for redesigning and redecorating the house! Silver linings and all that Wink

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 27/08/2012 10:47

Yes the last rolling year has been intense! Actually DH is quite different. He's gone from being very laid-back and quite passive to very assertive guess that's the testosterone talking We recently started Relate (before the BFP) because things had got tense and we never resolved arguments. The long term fertility ishoos had a major impact on our relationship. We are much, much happier now we know I'm diffed but going ahead with the counselling to improve our communication and air our grievances before baby arrives!

RubberBullets · 27/08/2012 10:47

Yep, I fancied a change :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 27/08/2012 11:18

...I haven't told DH about the piles, I'd like to come out of pregnancy with some sliver of mystery and allure intact Blush :o

Ha ha rubber from what? :o

Maybe he will calm down and manage arguments better as he gets used to the increased testosterone faith? Ttc is incredibly stressful and counselling sounds like a fab idea, it certainly won't hurt :)

JenFraggle.

Faith I guess it is like how our OH see us when we get hormonal and change :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 27/08/2012 12:08

Ahhhhhhhh :)

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 27/08/2012 12:14

Oh jenfraggle!

Yes I am trying to be understanding. It's changed the dynamic on our marriage from me being 'in charge' (my words) or dominating (his words) to him having more of a say rather than just saying we'll do whatever you want. It's not wrong that he is more assertive its just a different dynamic that we need to adjust to! He has been much happier recently and more affectionate and I'm confident we'll get there.

TheLittleFriend · 27/08/2012 19:19

Happy Bank Holiday everyone Smile

faith wow, it must be tough dealing with someone you love who seems to have changed personality! Definitely something that would take time and help to get used to.

Enjoy your holiday nutella

fluff err, hope your piles don't get painful!

GenericDietCola · 27/08/2012 19:49

Have you have really been through it and I'm so glad (again) that you got your BFP. You sound like a devoted couple and it's a good idea to do the counselling now and sort things out. So happy for you still! Any symptoms yet?

Fluff I have a tip for you after suffering with piles on and off for ages. I had tried all sorts of things and they never went away until I tried good old Sudocrem. It worked a treat and I was happy using while TTC/pregnancy, whereas I always felt a bit uncomfortable about using 'proper' drugs (but you know me and my anxieties!)

Good luck Munx!

Little how are you feeling now?

Hope everyone had a lovely long weekend. We are talking about names, but nothing decided so far!

HaveALittleFaith · 27/08/2012 20:03

Yes in fact it was the symptoms that prompted me to test - heightened sense of smell made me sick! Very tired, nausea comes and goes. We both want to work things through so we're in a stronger place when we're expecting imminently.

How are you doing Generic?

Stacks · 28/08/2012 11:26

Morning everyone. Been awol a few days again, just busy being back at work. It's a bit depressing being back really, but not long to go now - just 12 weeks of work left, and 2 weeks holiday still to take :)

Have great to see you back and diffed! I remember you well from the TTC thread a while ago, though I've name changed since (from Stasi). Glad things are looking up after such a tough year. My DH is a "whatever you want" kind of guy, I sometimes wish he'd be more assertive, but it must be strange to have the sudden change.

It's awful to say it, but I don't have time for much of a post just now! I've read back and used up my tea break. However, glad to see everything is good Munx, good luck with your scan Far, and hope the hips get better (or at least no worse) Fluff.

I'm changing to a new phone network today, so hopefully will be able to start reading/posting to mumsnet on my commute and keep in better touch.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 28/08/2012 12:09

34 week midwife check all done and dusted - I'm measuring bang on 34cm, the baby is head down but not engaged and she was poking her bum out one side of my bump which the midwife found amusing :o

Absolutely hanging today after our cat brought home a mouse about 3am, played with it for ages (it was dead though, thankfully) and wouldn't let me take it off him, then ate it and threw it back up Hmm

Ooo thanks for the tip Gen I'll give it a go. I'm hoping they magically disappear once I give birth, but I know that's not always the case Confused

Faith - counselling is a great idea. Me and husband-to-be went for it early in pg1 as everything had been a bit of a shock. We totally bonded over how much we didn't like the counsellor Grin - but don't let me put you off. I learned to listen to him and ask questions and we both found out surprising things about each other. It was good in many ways. Also - you are so right about being able to do these things now you are diffed. Hurray - it's all brilliant.

Fluff - and DP wonders why we only have a dog. Love the baby's bum poking out. Sounds comfy for her but not so much for you. Everyone I know seems to have recovered easily from piles so yes - it's best as your little secret. I never had them but my front bottom has never been the same since giving birth Confused - I shall be going for a fanjo nip and tuck after this baby is born. Blush

Good new tag Rubber.

Hello all others - it is rather quiet here - could you all get back online?

Checking out lots of venues for our wedding next year. Doing it now before the baby arrives. Gawd London is pricey and all the venues expect you to use their own caterers. Looks as if we will have to have a registry office wedding, hire a vintage bus and find an unusual venue so that we can choose our own caterers etc. Guess who will be doing all the work. Groan. But fun too, of course. Engagement ring is in jewellers being given a bit of redesign. Feeling q excited now as you can tell.

Evening Brookers

Sorry have been quiet, dealing with a lot of appointments here. They have stepped up my monitoring so was in Monday, Today and will be back in before end of the week as well.

Consultant again on Monday alongside scans and things so will know more then as to whether an induction will happen.

PIL have decided to pay a visit this weekend so things getting a bit hectic as have a load of stuff to do in case they do decide to induce at 38 weeks.

Sorry for lack of name checks, am knackered. But love to all xx

TheLittleFriend · 28/08/2012 20:22

I'm good ta gen, feeling pretty well atm (14+5)

fluff glad all was well with mw. What's your due date? Must be around my dd's birthday if in 6 weeks.

munx wow, it all sounds hectic at your end right now. Hope you're ok though.

I'm mucho excited as I've found out that a very good friend of mine, whose dd is just a month younger than mine, is due the week after me. And my cousin, whose dd is also a month younger, is due in April! So glad to be doing it all again with the same friends.

farfallarocks · 29/08/2012 12:50

Hello brookers, thanks for all the good wishes.
Scan went well, this morning, no concerns about her growth, in fact, she is looking above average in most departments including her head (ouch) and estimated to weigh 4 pounds already.
The sonographer did say these scans are quite inaccurate at predicting size but can just alert to a problem so I am not panicking about mamouth babies just yet but the important thing is that she is growing. Next one at 36 weeks.
Oh and she has turned head down which I was aware of due to the constant jabbing in the ribs!
Hope everyone else is well, we have decided on a name (at last!)
xx
