Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
frillylemons · 04/08/2012 16:50

Why 9th Aug, tash?

therumoursaretrue · 04/08/2012 17:20

Just checking in to say...nursing bras are horrific, are they designed to make boobs look as horrific as possible or have mine just gone to the dogs!?

Also hoping to get atleast past the 9th tasha!

Vinolover · 04/08/2012 17:51

I think you are the only one tasha! It's always the way though isn't it. Would it be worth you getting checked out again?

Glad your hubby indulged in your fruitiness Frilly. I have seriously lost all desire now and don't expect to be reunited with it for a good few months. It just feels so sore and uncomfortable :(

MrGeresHamster · 04/08/2012 17:59

Well done MrFrilly... taking one for the team.

frillylemons · 04/08/2012 18:09

Me and my sister have the same make nursing bra and it is amazing. Type this into google and it'll come up: bravado body silk nursing bra. It's isn't sexy but it is comfortable and fits like a dream whilst supporting better than underwire bras! Trust me. I'm a FF before pregnancy and a G now, so I understand the need for scaffolding!!

therumoursaretrue · 04/08/2012 18:14

Oh frilly thanks for the suggestion. Will take a look online. I wear a E usually and everyone keeps telling me I'll probably go up again when milk comes in but every nursing bra I have tried gives me no shape what so ever...just looks like one big squashed boob. Attractive Grin

woopsidaisy · 04/08/2012 18:23

Thanks for that Frilly. Will order that now. I have ordered and returned every nursing bra I can find, and they are just pointless. Got a pack of two crop tops yesterday which I was going to use at home, and wear usual underwired bras when out. But this is giving me hope!

WelshLadyCDF · 04/08/2012 18:31

Those Bravado ones come in nice colours, but I really like these nursing bras, they're so comfy and they normally arrive the next day:

www.fromheretomaternity.co.uk/product/165/121/emma-jane-seamless-nursing-bra-in-black

Oh and they don't cost the earth.

My friend says that when breastfeeding you need sleeping bras too cos you may leak a bit Blush, but I think I could sleep in these.

Just need a baby now! (due on weds)

Nightfall1983 · 04/08/2012 19:10

Ooh tash I'm another one who's not keen for baby to come early - would really like a 41-weeker, feel like a fraud being in the August group...

woopsidaisy · 04/08/2012 19:15

I'm due on Wed too Welsh!
And I can confirm what your friend said, you do indeed leak a bit. Newborn babies will feed at any time, day or night, so you need breast pads 24hrs in the first few weeks until your body gets used to the routine.

MrsMigginslovespies · 04/08/2012 19:19

Hello all,

Frilly, I've also got that body silk bra and it's great! Also have the other Bravado Bliss one with allowable underwire things and it's also brilliant. I also like that the bras straddle a couple of cup sizes to allow for changes. I do long for good underwiring again, as I'm normally a 32 DD and have gone up to a 34 F and miss some cleavage!!

TMI alert too, but am definitely getting more discharge. And oddly, my feet have gone right down (but am going to the loo more) so maybe peeing it all out?! My Mum thinks my bump might be a bit lower which is good, but still feels very high up under ribs which is now quite painful at times. Still having huge movements that feel as though they're taking over my body! Acid reflux still vile though and I also feel sick too. But apart from that, am ok and just waiting for baby!

Went for a nice walk with DH and DDog today in the sun, then went to a fruit farm to get some berries to make jam with when the heavens opened! We were only getting some ready picked as I can't bend down now, but the woman there clearly thought we were mad! No fruitiness at all at this end but am hoping this will pick up once baby is here in my dreams.

Hope you all have a good evening and some babies arrive soon! x

WelshLadyCDF · 04/08/2012 19:27

This might be tmi also but there's a thin skin that has grown over my belly button, is this normal? It looks really creepy.

tashaw28 · 04/08/2012 19:37

Errr Welsh no!!!

Frilly my mum lives in Spain and isn't over till tues and my dad is on holiday in Italy till 9th and don't want to ruin it for him by making him rush back, also would rather be as close to 40 weeks as poss, am not even 38 till tomorrow! Am feeling very anxious and scared about the whole labour thing, it's been 7 1/2 years since I last gave birth as last time I had a nice scheduled c section!!!!

eightieshopaholic · 04/08/2012 21:09

Well 39 tomorrow and no signs of an appearance!!

People r either saying oh you seen higher today or omg you have dropped!! talk about confusing!!

No symptoms only had bh a couple of times, having a little clear fluid from nipples only if press tmi!!

Please come soon!! little bro only in country till nxt Sunday so wanted him to see baby before he went back!!

Oh well its been a quite few days on the baby front it must be someone's turn soon!!!

forgetfulmrs · 04/08/2012 21:31

Evening ladies, i'm with the majority who want baby to come right now. Every night I go to bed thinking this could be it..... am taking RLT capsules and getting plenty of exercise (although not the bedroom kind). I'm due Monday anyway, sweep booked for Wed if nothing happens before then.

Got new tyre fitted, DH was fine about the cash just like someone said earlier on so thankyou. No one was hurt Smile

For those ladies suffering with SPD I empathise, I had it really bad with DS but didn't bother going for physio as I thought I could handle it and only had 2 weeks left til due date. But DS was 2 weeks late so I would really recommend getting some help especially those who can't walk more than a few steps thats crazy you poor girls. I haven't suffered as bad this time mostly just when getting dressed and getting to the loo at night.

forgetfulmrs · 04/08/2012 21:38

ps Picture can you give us ladies any ideas as to what makes a good thank you pressie for the midwives on the ward after you have had your baby? I always meant to take something in after having DS but never got around to it so I need to do better this time. Am thinking biscuits or cakes, do you get loads of this kind if thing?

ffscatmove · 04/08/2012 21:55

Ooh yes let us know Picture - I have been batch baking Herman the German cakes & freezing them, would a home made cake be good or would posh biccies or something else go down better?

Amazing race by Mo Farah by the way, quite tired me out just watching! Grin

PictureThis · 04/08/2012 22:07

Biscuits, cakes, chocolate, fruit baskets.....we're grateful for anything and appreciate everything we get. I've made a small basket of goodies for my lot, proper teabags (as opposed to horrible NHS ones we usually drink), nice coffee, posh biscuits and cordial. Whatever you choose to give as a thank you i promise it will be appreciated.

MrsMigginslovespies · 04/08/2012 22:15

Ah, glad you say that Picturethis. I've got some nice posh choccie ones from Marks&Spencers already packed but was a bit worried they were a bit dull.

Team GB awesome tonight, though looking at all the toned bodies makes me feel very fat and unfit Wink.

forgetfulmrs · 04/08/2012 22:16

Aha tea and coffee I never would have thought of that, thanks Picture for the ideas.

ChicBabyP · 04/08/2012 23:51

Loving the safari Grin Can't say it's been a successful one on my end, but I'm experiencing the excitement through all of you...
40 weeks tomorrow! So it looks like baby Chic is next, unless anyone cares to get going tomorrow??
Been willing this LO to get out all weekend, tried it all (even the bedroom kind) to no avail. It has another 24hrs to make a spontaneous appearance or else it will be evicted!

hamncheese · 05/08/2012 03:48

Hello August ladies from myself and sandy who is currently feeding like a champ and being very brave as he has jaundice and has been confined to the baby tan box! We were meant to be getting home today but at his final check the mw noticed his increasingly yellow skin and he got blood which showed he needed treatment do we are in til tomorrow evening at least maybe home then or Monday. Got a bit emotional seeing the hot box brought in as it just visually seemed to say there was something wrong and I hate him having to lie in there all naked except nappy and no cuddles with me unless feeding. Lucky for me he is feeding for an hour at a time !! So I still get cuddles but all the time he is out is longer til he is free from the box and going home. Generally though he is so so so content and easy going. He has platinum blonde hair... My little beach bum!!

Was hoping to see news of more babies but no such luck! Keep going everyone it's so close til you get your perfect LOs.

In hospital fuzzy socks recommended. Also remember blanket for swaddling. Alexander settled so well with a tight swaddle before the box. What else... Oh if you find baby not settling and you have had 3 hours sleep in 4 days and all baby wants to do is feed cry feed cry then keep doing it, and bawl your eyes out to the lovely mw hehe!

Can't wait to get him home now but being very patient. Anyway he has stopped feeding now so best get him back in the light and some more zzzz for me while I have the chance. Promise birth story eventually when on reliable Internet again. Hope you are all well and as comfy as possible soon it'll all be over Grin

ImissMiniPop · 05/08/2012 05:02

ahhh, great to hear from you Ham, just think of it as him having a little sunbath :o Hope you get to go home very soon, but while you're in there make the most of the MWs and get some rest (if you can, post natal wards aren't very restful are they? :o)
Come join the post natal thread. Thanks

woopsidaisy · 05/08/2012 08:15

Thanks for the tips Ham. I had forgotten to put a blanket in the hospital bag.
Alexander sounds absolutely gorgeous, I hope you get him home soon.

MrGeresHamster · 05/08/2012 08:43

Ham loving the idea of a beach bum baby! He sounds do cute. Don't worry too much about the jaundice. My mum has told me to look out for it as she naturally had babies with jaundice (all four of us had it at birth). Apparently when it came to DC4 she lied to the Midwifes that the baby was looking yellow so that they would start treatment straight away. Blood test confirmed jaundice before my DB showed signs, my mum just wanted to get going with it, she just produces babies with jaundice. None of us had any problem with the treatment nor had any lasting effects... except maybe if you count being sun worshippers all four of us!

Absolutely lashing down with rain here. Is that a sign of imminent labour ?
