Geekette are you in a room to yourself or a ward with others to chat to?

I had my 2nd monitoring for high BP and 'passed' so am now allowed to continue just letting mother nature do her thing. I perhaps need to get onto the RLT but have been bouncing and enjoyed a lovely long walk along the beach in the sun yesterday but wow did I pay for it last night. Moving between sitting and standing was agony! Luckily it's worn off while asleep.

Olympics- I'm following cycling as DH is an avid cyclist but I like the BBC as Cav is on Blush

Was wondering if the full moon would have encouraged more babies out but is seems not!

MrsMigginslovespies · 03/08/2012 17:21

Hello all,

Just a wee one to say hi really. Lots of BHs here too now and a bit sore. Am only drinking RLT once a day, but definitely seems to make a difference. Mum delivered Ikea ebay chair and it looks really nice. She also thinks the bump has dropped a bit but I'm not sure (gotta hope he moves down soon though!).

Ham lovely to hear thar you and Alexander are doing so well. SO sweet that you're both doing so well together and it really makes me want mine to come soon now!

Keep well everyone else and hope that you feel a bit better and less sore and sick soon Frilly. x

tashaw28 · 03/08/2012 18:01

Hi all especially to Ham, congrats on your son!!!

Well I was almost having a full moon baby last night, had cramps and loose stools at 2.30am and 5am and thought that was it, combined with all the BH I've been having for months now and we went along to the day unit this morning!

Was monitored for almost 2 hours and eventually let go and although the BH are very frequent, and strong they mean nothing!! Could be today or in 2 1/2 weeks!!! Am only 37+5 and not keen for it to make an appearence until my mum is here on 7th and my dad on 9th as Dh is back to work on Monday!!!!

geekette · 03/08/2012 18:48

I am on a ward with others. thank goodness!

It is a bit hard to see them all leave with their babies and even harder to see them ever come back with complications!

But getting used to it and remembering not all pregnancies have complications :)

Don't really have cabin fever because of this .lucky me!

miaboo · 03/08/2012 19:17

frillylemons I am in excatly the same situation as you, it has got to be the most painful thing I have experienced against labour itself! My midwife just said oh theres nothing I can do, I'm not due until the 21st and dont think I can go on like this, I dont go out anywhere as you just dont know when it's going to strike and when it does it cripples doesnt it? I hate just walking across the room incase it strikes and now its sometimes happening if he moves when I'm sat down! I'm taking paracetamol but really am thinking about a doctors trip to see what they can do, physio I would of thought is to late with only a couple of weeks to go but this is really depressing me and I'm not enjoying any part of the day anymore :(

frillylemons · 03/08/2012 19:25

miaboo I'm so sorry that you are going through it too, but it's nice to know I'm not on my own! It is hideous. I want to enjoy my maternity leave, not spend it indoors unable to wander into town Sad

miaboo · 03/08/2012 19:37

I've had it 2 weeks now and it's really hard as I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old to look after to :(
I dont know what to say or do about it, I'm yet to find the miracle cure yet :(, but like you glad someone knows what I'm going through
Debating a cheeky archers and lemonade if I reach the end of my tether which will be soon! ;)

frillylemons · 03/08/2012 19:46

Oooh I could so fancy an archers and lemonade! I forget that we are allowed a bit of alcohol. It may sound gross, but I think I might have some red wine and lemonade Grin

miaboo · 03/08/2012 19:50

compared to the amount of paracetamol I've taken surely 1 wont hurt..... :)

capecath · 03/08/2012 20:40

frilly miaboo I've found this article which describes the pains I am feeling pretty well and which sound similar to yours so you may want to check out? I can particularly relate to the pushing shopping trolleys, putting on trousers, lifting one leg at a time, and I am also getting occasional shooting pains down left leg (inside from the top) and at the base of my spine. Has only been evident for me since baby has been engaging, but believe some people get it from earlier on.

capecath · 03/08/2012 20:41

Oops did my link wrong! Oh well you can copy/paste if interested...

Vinolover · 03/08/2012 20:55

Sorry about your pains Frilly and Miaboo :( Hope it eases up soon!

I managed to get the loose tea today and I have to say I think it's absolutely discusting! But, desperate needs call for desperate measures so i'm willing to knock it back for next however long.
This evening I have had four cups of RLT, some really spicy sauce with my dinner, a clary sage bath and I will eventually grab the husband for his duties Wink. Best get nipple tweaking too but my ds is still up and he may wonder what on earth I'm doing!

Hope everyone has some nice weekend plans :)

frillylemons · 03/08/2012 20:56

DH is out tonight and I'm feeling a bit fruity Angry Most annoying.

frillylemons · 03/08/2012 20:56

Sorry. That was probably WAY TMI!!

Vinolover · 03/08/2012 21:26

Hahahaha Frilly, that's really made me laugh! I'm feeling most unfruity but best get on with it Wink.

frillylemons · 03/08/2012 21:36

Enjoy Vino! I would say think of me, but it really doesn't work in this situation!!

MrGeresHamster · 03/08/2012 21:39

Hmm do you two need a room...?

Frilly kinda know what you mean, being heavily pregnant is making me more fruity iykwim... Weird.

susiegrapevine · 03/08/2012 21:42

frilly, maiboo hope you feel better soon.

Just wanted to say don't forget expressing also helps bring on labour and its good practice for when baby is born. And the main thing for sex is the man ejaculating onto your cervix to give you a kick start!! Sorry if tmi! We need more babies so come on! 37 + 3

susiegrapevine · 03/08/2012 21:45

Yes am with you on the fruity feelings the more pregnant I get the more fruity I feel lol!

MrGeresHamster · 03/08/2012 21:46

I'm trying my best as is DH for me to be next suzie

39+3

MrGeresHamster · 03/08/2012 21:50

Actually I have a bit of a tmi question... would having 'restless' nipples be 'a sign'? As in feeling a bit odd, sensitive, itchy(?), achy, need prodding...?

Did have diarrhoea earlier... Confused

therumoursaretrue · 03/08/2012 23:01

Still having lots of pains but starting and stopping which is driving me mad as I know some people experience this and go into labour a couple of days later whereas others seem to go a lot longer. I will get my induction date on Tuesday anyway if nothing has happened by then as I'm 'high risk' and they don't want me to go to 40 weeks.

fairtrade That's one of the reasons I have been so unsure what's going on. First lot of contractions were monitored and MW said they were proper contractions but I didn't find them sore at all, but the ones I've had since have taken the breathe from me!

marmite I have felt generally a bit woosy and 'off' too. Exciting and scary your MW saying it's early signs!!

ishop He can get back if he needs to, but I have a feeling if I tell him he needs to get home everything will just plateau and it will all be a false alarm! Really in two minds today about wether to get him home early. I'm not even 37 weeks till Monday but things seem to be stopping and starting the past few days. I was monitored on Monday and contractions were really regular and fairly close together but they let me home again as they tailed off. I have been really struggling since though and the contractions I had last night were painful but not regular.

Oh what to do!!?

therumoursaretrue · 03/08/2012 23:04

Ah mrgere I have been feeling like that this evening too. Really itchy, over-sensitive and a bit uncomfortable in the nips! No idea if it's relevant though.

Vino I mix a teaspoon of orange blossom honey with my RLT...tastes much better!

MrGeresHamster · 03/08/2012 23:30

Rumours we had ice cream lollies tonight, before consuming they were very very useful for their cooling effect.

frillylemons · 04/08/2012 09:13

Morning all! DH is at work until 1 so I am off up to see my mum and dad and my ma I going to help me make a pram/car seat blanket Grin

It would seem as though this sickness isn't a one off though Sad But on the plus side it only happens at night between 9 and 10.30! Been sick every night since Sunday. Ever so odd Hmm

How are you all today? Anyone showing signs of imminent labour?
