Ah tinker I've enjoyed reading! :)

Popinda · 09/07/2012 21:34

tinker me too! I just felt so sorry for you while reading your puke story! I hope never to experience anything like that! Smile

motherOfOne27 · 09/07/2012 21:55

Thank you threeForTea I've just read the packet and yes im 4-5 weeks xx

woody17 · 09/07/2012 22:00

Heeheeheebum ? that?s so insensitive and inaccurate of the doctor. I would definitely see someone else and I would also be tempted to complain.

Backwardpossum ? I totally agree. The days seem to be going by very very slowly. I am really anxious about Friday. I keep having a tiny bit of brown discharge when I wipe (sorry for TMI) but I did another digital test tonight that said I was 3 weeks + pregnant so I?m hoping that?s a good sign! I just want to know everything will be ok.

And like a lot of people, I am constantly checking my knickers ? my friends never told me about this part of being pregnant!

Jessi ? the waiting is horrible. It?s so difficult when lots of symptoms can be a sign of lots of different things. A lot of books/GP says that cramping is just everything stretching and getting ready for the baby. It's really frustrating having to wait for the scan ? the days really seem to be dragging by. If you are worried, maybe see if you can go earlier? They can always scan you again a bit later? I really hope that everything is ok for you. FX.

Congratulations motherofone

Tinker ? that sounds horrible! Although I?m been feeling constantly nauseous, I haven?t actually been sick yet?

Does anyone think they are showing yet? I had a fairly flat tummy before and I am sure if has got more rounded?

motherOfOne27 · 09/07/2012 22:33

Thank you woody17 and I hope your ok!
I've had cramping too which I don't remember having before feels like period pains then vanishes, and other then just feeling bloated and uncomfortable in the heat I've had nothing oh and maybe a bit of heartburn xx

Tay1981 · 09/07/2012 22:59

Hey everyone

I was cramping a lot until last week and seems to have eased off now. Anyone else had their blood Hcg levels tested or know anything about it? Went for my blood test today and doc told me anything above 3000 and she would order an ultrasound. Well just phoned up for the result and the nurse told me I was 35,000??? Probably explains why I feel so rubbish. I never had this test with my DD1 so nothing to compare to. Have to phone for a scan appointment tomorrow though - hopefully will be soon as can't see obstetrician until I've had it and I'm starting to feel like I need help with the sickness now - can't even begin to function thank goodness dh didn't have to go to work today! x

tiddleypompom · 10/07/2012 07:51

Hi everyone :)

tay high levels of hcg can sometimes predict a twin pregnancy - I just asked a mate who had twins last year and her levels used to double every day or so in early preg & were 46000 at 6 weeks. It's a good sign anyway of a healthy preg, so be encouraged I think! I was wondering about twins as I tested positive just 8dpo & we have them in both families. Given the ms this time I got the wobbles about multiples. Lovely yes but to be honest I would feel much happier with just the one...

Anyway, one at all is the aim at the moment isn't it? I haven't posted for a little while as was feeling so negative about it yesterday - convinced it was all going wrong and not 'meant to be'. Probably just stress (house purchase is just awful), tiredness (DS wakes every night as he has learnt to sit up on his own but can't get back down again!) & paranoia. Horrid feeling nonetheless. I told DH and he have me a cuddle & reminded me of the power of positive thinking - so have kicked self firmly up the bum :o

Puke stories made me laugh yesterday (in wry sympathy), thanks!

Welcome & congratulations motherofone - so pleased for you & hope you will be motheroftwo in fewer than 9 months!

Leftwingharpie · 10/07/2012 08:08

tink that puke story is horrible! Poor you it must have been awful! So far I've been able to keep the slight feelings of nausea away by constantly stuffing my face. I just had a big bowl of shreddies for breakfast - to keep hunger locked up till lunch! I am now eyeing up my lunch...

Woody I think it's just bloating at the moment but my lovely flat tummy has gone! I've already had to retire a couple of work dresses so as not to give any hints and am sporting a nice baggy floral number!

ThreeForTea · 10/07/2012 08:59

Aaghh, have a wedding on Friday and have nothing to wear as tummy looks 6 months gone! Do we reckon tummy holding in pants will be ok while early pg? Might have to buy some! (sob)

tiddleypompom · 10/07/2012 09:05

three I sympathise! Personally wouln't wear magic knickers when preg as it'd be a sure fire way to make me feel sick (anything tight). You'd probably be uncomfy tbh. Have you anything empire line? Or low slung waist line (low belt?) to draw attention away? Can you justify a new frock that can be worn later in preg? Jersey is good as it stretches and falls nicely. Hope you find something :)

Glad the 'eat' diet is helping with your nausea harpie - I was like that during my first pregnancy until around 12 weeks then felt great. I also didn't put much weight on (lost during first trimester, presumably due to lack of wine!).

Sprinkling positivity about, hope everyone has a good day.

tedmundo · 10/07/2012 10:02

My word ladies, you do love a natter don't you?!

Loving the puke stories and am feeling a lot of sisterhood sympathy for the ms kicking in for us all.

I have low level nausea all day but it feels much worse in the afternoons. My norks are SOOOO sore that I actually took painkillers the other day.

And I feel like my tummy should have a flashing arrow pointing to it saying "yes I am up the duff, in case you were speculating".

I am knicker checking a bit, but actually as my miscarriage was a missed miscarriage I am plagued with dark, dark thoughts. I just want to get a scan and see a live baby. With a lovely strong heartbeat. Two weeks today .... I will be 7+2 so should hopefully know either way by then. Sorry to be a downer.

I need some of that positive thinking tiddley

HeeHeeHeeBum · 10/07/2012 10:25

Hi ladies, thanks for all the lovely comments yesterday. I did call the docs back and try to change the appointment but my lovely gp isn't available until August so I'm stuck with that one :( Still, it's just a form filling visit and I know the midwife will be much more understanding.
ted I am the same with the knicker checking and dark thoughts. I felt really positive at first but the negativity has set in now and I don't know how on earth I'm going to cope with the scan. Especially as I don't have much in the way of symptoms other than the back pain and occasional nausea. My boobs feel completely normal now.
Sorry to everyone for the lack of chat, I will hopefully get a chance to catch up tonight.
Have a good (non-sick) day all!

posypoo · 10/07/2012 12:24

Hi everyone
Am feeling totally rubbish today. A cold (which my LO also has so is waking all the time coughing) and as I am approaching 7 weeks think maybe also the start of feeling like crap (though I can't complain as I have had literally no symptoms until today and was starting to wonder if my bfp was in fact a dream!). I hope everyone else is feeling more sprightly than me, and welcome to all the new bfpers. x

TheCountessOlenska · 10/07/2012 13:36

Hello! Gosh, sorry I can't keep up with this thread!

Loving the sick kits and puking stories!

Me too posypoo, I am coming up to 6 weeks and am definitely feeling the beginnings of nausea today - I was very lucky last time in that I wasn't actually sick but I felt very queasy in the afternoons/evenings from about 16 weeks.

I'm also feeling very tired - DD up at 6am this morning which hasn't helped . .

On subject of bloating, last time I didn't show at all till about 20 weeks and even then I could hide it under my coat but this time I am already struggling to do up my jeans - what's that all about Confused. Mind you I had good abs last time from the gym, alas no more Sad

TheCountessOlenska · 10/07/2012 13:37

for 16 weeks I mean, I was fine after that!

posypoo · 10/07/2012 14:59

I wasn't sick last time either Thecountess (fingers crossed for this time!) and also felt fine after about 4 months, in fact I felt better than I had in a long time. That seems like a long way off currently!

I have come home from work. I couldn't face trying to recover while also doing the bedtime routine and making tea etc. Feels kind of like bliss to have four hours to myself on the sofa. I am going to catch up on Neighbours :)

I am not really bloated but just feel like I have a really thick waist and I look terrible in everything I try on. Lovely!

TinkerBellaFlora · 10/07/2012 15:35

Hello all,

I too could do with some of that positive thinking tiddley. Despite best efforts to be chilled (including an attempted reduction in my still extreme testing habit) my thoughts keep returning to the prospect of it all going wrong. It's the missed miscarriage which haunts me most. I haven't experienced a miscarriage but know so many who have - including a lot of you lovely ladies - which makes me wonder if my luck can really hold out this time too!?

I'm determined to try and shake off these thoughts though and focus as much as possible on 'enjoying the moment' (which generally I am). We're all here and, realistically, it's a lot more likely to have a happy ending than not. If this pregnancy is successful, it's more than likely to be my last (2 and we're out is the current thinking), so it seems wrong to spend a large proportion of what is a unique and limited time dwelling on the potential of the worst happening. Easier said than done though...!

suzydelarosa · 10/07/2012 18:17

hi everyone, Hope i can join this thread. Had a BFP last Friday and am just 4 + 2 days but it all looks positive.

The actual pregnancy is a bloody miracle as I'm 42 and have very experienced seasoned eggs and my DP is getting radiation treatment for prostrate cancer and was told that it would likely make him infertile for a number of years. So gosh wizz! His oncologist was astounded!

However I had two mcs - in the first I knew something was wrong as my clearblue pg test kept saying I was 1-2 weeks even though i was supposed to be 3+ and in the last it was just a major bleed that was proper carnage.

So I post with great trepidation. wish I could go to sleep and wake up in 8 weeks!

tiddleypompom · 10/07/2012 18:29

Hey there suzy, welcome and yay for your bfp! So sorry to hear you have suffered mc, there are others on this boat who have also, and we're all completely paranoid approaching with trepidation do you are amongst friends. Wishing you a complication free pregnancy (and your DH complete recovery).

tinkerbella you have very eloquently written exactly how I feel too - its so hard at this early stage and it seems so many women suffer mc. I guess the only way to look at it is to hold on to the statistics being with us not against us - and that other than looking after ourselves, there really isnt anything we can do. I am convinced of the power of positive though however - so give yourself a bit hug, put feet up & try to bat away the fears and reclaim your joy :)

That said, I have backache today, DH is going to be late back all week, we still haven't exchanged & I am fed up of feeling sick. Grump.

Contrary, me?! :o

tiddleypompom · 10/07/2012 18:31

big hug. Bloody phone. Please excuse all autocorrect mistakes etc...

suzydelarosa · 10/07/2012 18:32

Thanks Tildypom.... i'm also buying a house as well, exchange happened and completion is meant to be tomorrow. Forgot that last time I moved I promised I would never again... and now I know why! Seriously stressful and what was meant to be quick was a 15 week pain in the bum!

good luck!

TheCountessOlenska · 10/07/2012 18:37

Wow, congrats suzy - really hope it all goes smoothly for you from now on Smile. Will this be DC1?

Tinker, sorry to hear you're having worries - it all feels so "up in the air" before the first scan doesn't it? TBH I deal with early pregnancy by trying not to think about it (!) - that's why you probably won't see much of me on here until after 12 weeks! Easier said than done though I know - must have been easier in that respect before home pregnancy tests were invented and when women could merrily drink, smoke and eat any old thing throughout!

suzydelarosa · 10/07/2012 18:43

hi Countess! This'll be DC2 as I have a DD who is 6 and just finished P1. Just when things got normal and I no longer had to pay exorbitant nursery fees, here we go again! I feel I have been reckless, but hey ho! Have been vascillating between total excitement and complete dread about the sleeplesss nights and baby-induced poverty. and as for my age....

You know you're getting too old for a baby when you're frustrated that you can't get Botox while pregnant! :)

Leftwingharpie · 10/07/2012 19:38

Oh Suzy I don't think I dare do another digital test now you've told us that sad story. I've got my fingers crossed for you for this little miracle bean!

Today I have eaten a large bowl of Shreddies, two cheese sandwiches, a chip butty from the fish and chip shop, four tangerines, some garlic flatbread and a mushroom pie and chips. What a greedy baby!

motherOfOne27 · 10/07/2012 19:44

suzy congratulations ! :D and gosh what a traumatic time you have had with everything, I hope things get better xx

I feel so bloated today... I'm like a trumpet at night too haha I feel nothing though just this and the cramping every now and then. No sore breasts or sickness yet so here's hoping an easy pregnancy :D (famous last words eh)

xx
