Hi all! Congratulations everyone!

Just joining this thread - got a bfp last week - our LO1 is 9 months.

Tiddlypompom I think we were in the September 2011 group together! Hello!

Due 4/3/13, no symptoms whatsoever, I had crippling MS last time round and am terrified it will be the same this time :(

Haven't told anyone yet either - can't quite believe it....

holls2000 · 02/07/2012 23:11

Hello all you lovely ladies.

God, I love coming on here!! It reminds me that there's more to life than my job!
In a nutshell, tiddley , my lovely little school is merging with another. All staff moving across but we are unsure of roles etc etc. I am a head of dept and am very worried about it all. I like to think I am good at my job and the thought of fighting someone else for it next term fills me with dread. Really stressing me out!!! I am also so sleepy at the moment and uber emotional.

Good news re scan bb such a relief - and not long till you hear that heartbeat. I can't wait to do that for the first time.

Sleep tight all xxxx

tiddleypompom · 03/07/2012 07:42

Morning chaps

hello mate - how're things? How funny (and great) to 'see' you again on an antenatal thread! Do you still keep in touch on the postnatal one? Remind me did you have a dd?

pops good to hear you're feeling more positive!

holls I remember now. Big changes ahead then. I can imagine it must be v daunting. Could it actually improve things long term? What dept are you head of ?

Who will be first to crack & get the maternity jeans out then??

tiddleypompom · 03/07/2012 07:49

By the way holls I hope your school manages the move well - communication with the staff is the key ime (I have managed relocations previously). I do hope you don't have to 'fight' for your job. Try to keep your spirits up - they won't want to lose good staff. Disconcerting in the meantime though. Good job you have a big ol distraction eh?! :)

tiddleypompom · 03/07/2012 07:55

dualta it was a DS wasn't it? Just looked back :) Love the name, I wanted that name but the nn doesn't go well with our surname! I had a DS too.

posypoo · 03/07/2012 07:59

Morning everyone. Holls that sounds well stressful. My work is relocating and so I sympathise with how stressful it can be thinking about the future.

Anyone else not got any symptoms yet? I told some close mum friends yesterday and am now paranoid as I still haven't got any symptoms really so felt like a bit of a fraud! Everyone else seems to be having early nausea but I haven't seen any sign yet and I'm six weeks tomorrow.

posypoo · 03/07/2012 07:59

Hello Dualta!

Hitchingal · 03/07/2012 10:42

Morning all! Glad to hear I am not the only one feeling bloated, def in my 'large' jeans! Bit concerned that in only week 6 all my bras feel too small!
Best of luck holls with work. Am in a weird position at my work as have a new project which normally I would be so excited about but right now I can't focus!
Anyone else knackered?! DH thinks I am totally milking it but by 8:00pm an so exhausted - 1hr commute each way not helping Angry
Have a lovely day, ladies!

mmmmsleep · 03/07/2012 10:46

Congratulations ladies! Another one here. No Idea of my due date as still breast feeding & no period since came off pill when ds was almost 1. Trying to get a dating scan..could be Feb or march! So far nauseous but much better than with ds -i was in hospital with hyperemesis on & off from 4 weeks! Makes me worried this one isn't a sticky one.

Anyone else still breast feeding a dc? Wondering if i'll tandem feed...never thought i'd go this long!

posypoo · 03/07/2012 10:53

mmmmsleep hello - yes I am still breastfeeding, though only at night. I never thought I'd go on this long either - considering tandem feeding but tbh am hoping she'll wean by then as she'll be almost three! She's cut down dramatically recently (partly persuaded by me), and I had planned to stop when she was 2 but it is still handy to be able to and I will miss it when I stop. Not sure how I'll feel when my boobs feel sore and I feel rubbish though. I currently have no symptoms, apart from feeling a bit narky and share your paranoia!

posypoo · 03/07/2012 10:59

Hitching yes totally knackered. I went to bed at 9 last night only to lay awake most of the night last night :( This has happened a few times since my bfp, either pregnancy insomnia or nerves!

Popinda · 03/07/2012 12:24

posypoo same here! Smile
Also, my trousers seem to be getting smaller by the hour! Grin my boobs feel like they going to explode from my bra! Not sore, just suddenly very massive! Will need to get new bra and trousers at the weekend if this carry on! Smile

newyearsday · 03/07/2012 14:14

Gosh lots to catch up on!

tiddly I had a home labour last time, didn't quite manage the home birth! Had a b2b baby and ineffective ctx, didn't get past 4cm so transferred in after 24hrs at home. My 1st choice this time is home, 2nd choice mwlu. Go for it! There's a great homebirthuk yahoo group for info/advice/support. Like chief I'm also planning to get a doula to support us both, really needed some womanly support/kindness/experience last time.

I've got the pg insomnia too, so tired (having a nap in the day when ds has his!) but taking ages to get to sleep and stay asleep, lots of stuff whirring around my head...

I couldn't get a mw booking in appt until 24th july when I'll be 8wks, hope it won't mean my scan will be late.

I'm feeling bloated and my tummy is really sensitive, anything slightly tight makes me feel nauseas, top buttons are being undone already. I was in maternity jeans at 9wks last time, this time might be even sooner.

whiteandyelloworchid · 03/07/2012 14:59

bbface, so glad your scan went well

jessi0343 · 03/07/2012 15:59

mmmsleep I only stopped breastfeeding 5 weeks ago, AF 3 days later, conceived current bean 14 days after that! I couldn't believe how my boobs shrunk after finally stopping bf, and now they're all tingly and getting big again haha.

I also can't believe its only been a week since finding out. Feels like forever! My booking in appointment isn't til 8 weeks too. I know its going to be a long wait til the scan, sigh.

Told a few mummy friends today and they were so thrilled for me! That is making the wait easier, that I can talk to people about it. Last time around told no one except DH for 13 weeks and that was difficult.

MrsBradleyCooper · 03/07/2012 18:14

Hello everyone can I join?

Expecting No. 2 in March - it's very early days yet - according to my calculations I am only 4 weeks and 1 day, but I've been having symptoms for about a week!! Not sure quite how that is physically possible, but I am feeling pretty rough today - exhausted, nauseous and constantly weeing!

MrsBradleyCooper · 03/07/2012 18:16

Also I am desperate to tell someone but DH doesn't want to. I think I would just like to tell my mum and my best friend - I figure that if something was to go wrong I'd tell them anyway?

TheCountessOlenska · 03/07/2012 18:33

Hello! Just been pointed in this direction!

Just done the calculator thing - due 12th March!

Main feeling so far is relief - took 16 months to conceive this time!!

Think I am going to tell my mum tomorrow but no one else for a while - I don't mind telling close friends/relatives as I wouldn't mind telling them if something went wrong. I prefer to tell work colleagues as late as possible though!

TheCountessOlenska · 03/07/2012 18:35

^ by whiteandyelloworchid meant to say!

ChiefTittifer · 03/07/2012 18:42

Hi everyone.

Mmmsleep, I am still feeding my 20 month old all the bloody time and currently have no plans to stop. I do feel very tender at the moment. But it's so important to him that I want him to take the lead. I can imagine us ending up tandem feeding.

How is everyone feeling today? I'm feeling really quite low, with no energy, like I could just curl up and sleep anywhere. Unfortunately that's not going to happen as ds had an unexpectedly late nap and I doubt he will be ready for bed before ten :(

Countess, how old is your dc? I'm sure I remember you from a thread many moons ago- newborn sleep nightmares? Does that ring a bell? I can't remember what my nn was back then. Welcome to the club!

Doraemon · 03/07/2012 18:54

Evening all,
still feeling fat :)
I tandem fed with DS1 and DS2 - DS1 pretty much stopped while I was pregnant (he was around 2) then started again when DS2 was born and went a bit booby mad - I found it really difficult tbh, it was the first time I could understand how some mums just don't enjoy bfing at all, so we bought him a train set and told him he didn't have mummy milk anymore Blush. That lasted a couple of weeks then he started again and didn't stop until he was about 3.
kurly I have no idea why my boys came early, with DS1 my waters broke with no warning at 32 weeks and he was born within a few hours, utterly terrifying (although with hindsight it probably wasn't normal to have Braxton Hicks so strong that I had to rock on my hands and knees.....), with DS2 contractions started at 29 weeks, I was given drugs to stop them, then started again at 31 weeks but stopped, and I wasn't dilating at all, then he came at 34 weeks. General medical opinion seems to be 'some women go into labour early and we don't know why'.
I will be under the consultant although I don't know whether that will mean anything other than extra appointments. I'll be booking for homebirth but happy if I can just hang on long enough to avoid SCBU.
So my advice is pack that hospital bag nice and early ladies! Wink

MrsBradleyCooper · 03/07/2012 19:17

Countess - my edd is the 11th!

bbface · 03/07/2012 20:00

Thanks all for lovely kind well wishes. Yes, a massive relief and now super excited about the scan.

Pls post more white orchid... I want to hear how you are getting on!

Today has been bizarre, other than tiredness, no symptons. Other than a shocking one. I am quite a health freak... After dinner I very rarely have anything sweet, just a diet yoghurt and piece of fruit. Tonight? I almost gagged at the thought of a yoghurt and instead went for a divine almond magnum. The rejection of the yoghurt was unquestionably pregnancy related, I remember a similar reaction to soup when I was preggers with ds. Anyone else having a reaction to certain foods?

It is great to have this support network! Enjoy your evenings

P.s. oh the insomnia!!! It is dreadful. Last night wide awake from 4am just tossing and turning

FloweryBoots · 03/07/2012 20:26

Evening ladies.

Well, I rang the doctors today and it seems I can book straight with the midwife, no need to see GP so have booking in appointment set for when I'm 8 weeks. Bit different to last time; saw the GP, was told I had to decide IMMEDIATELY where I wanted to have the birth so they could refer me to the right place and MUST come back within 2 weeks to tell them as otherwise I wouldn't be referred in time. Didn't have booking in appointment or scan until 12 + 6 (which I tink is the latest they do the 12 week scan).

I've just stopped feeding my DS too. He was only having 2 feeds, 1 first thing and one before bed. He dropped the morning one himself a couple of months or so ago and around a month later I swaped his bed time one for a cup of milk instead. He had Mummy milk a few odd times over the next couple of weeks but nothing for two or three weeks now. He's 22 months just so I'm happy with that - wanted to get to 18 months so reached and surpassed my goal! My periods came back when he was 10 months though.

Em2010 · 03/07/2012 21:38

Evening All, hope everyone is having a good one!

Welcome and congratulations to all the new joiners.

Well, I confess I am already back in my maternity jeans! in fact I never put them away they are the most gorgeous, soft jeggings and very forgiving to my huge belly. I think I'm having triplets.

Feeling very sorry for myself today. Sickness hit yesterday evening and kept me awake all last night. Felt so awful today but dragged myself into work (dh had to drive me in because I was too feeling too incapable to even carry ds into his nursery! Wimp!) Additionally my back is killing me and I'm feeling very :( because I couldnt play with ds like I normally do when I get back from work. I just curled up in bed. Blurghh!

Sorry for the whinge. Think the lack of sleep has got me ultra hormonal!

So glad scan went well bb and really sorry holls about your work situation. It must be really sad for you and your colleagues.
