zanywany hello! And to you all.
So sorry to hear about santa and Aurora

Nice to hear most have had scans now.

Is anyone feeling wriggles yet as I am?, when I lie down in bed at night usually. Lots of turning and stretching. I know this is my 3DC but it never ceases to amaze me. I felt DS at 17 weeks, DD at 16 weeks and this one at 13/14 weeks.

Symptoms and nausea all but disappeared and have new energy! I can actually stay awake past 8.00pm now Grin

I have my 16 week antenatal tomorrow I will be 15+3
Due date 1/2/13
zanywany is you 11year old starting high school this year?

IWantToGoToThere · 22/08/2012 20:58

Hi all. I've been lurking since the beginning so thought I'd better say hi! I'm 36 (will be 37 old hag when it's born) and this is my DC2. I already have a DS aged 2.8 and this one is due on 9 February. There will be a slightly longer age gap between the children than we had planned due to a MMC last September and then my ovaries not playing ball for several months.

Have been a bit of a stress-pot this time around probably due to the MMC so I'm very pleased to be over the first trimester. I also consider I've been remarkably restrained in only having 2 private early scans in addition to my NHS one as I really wanted one a week (and still do).

We'll be finding out the sex of this one and it's just a case of whether we find out at the 20 week scan or whether we have a private gender scan. Am firmly suspecting we'll be able to re-use all DS's clothes though. Just a feeling. Anyone else having mother's intuition?

Want2bSupermum · 23/08/2012 00:50

Hello Iwanttogotothere and congrats! This is my 2nd and everyone has been telling me that they think it is a boy. We are going to find out at the next scan. We are in the US so obn scanned me twice to try and confirm due date and then I had my 12 wk scan where they changed her due date! I have heart the heartbeat twice now and it is a sound I will never grow tired of.

All of our friends had boys so DD has been in boys clothes from a young age. She has more and more pink stuff through as my MIL seems to think she has to be in pink. We have tried to keep as much of her clothing neutral but it isn't always easy to find things which are neutral.

IWantToGoToThere · 23/08/2012 10:50

Even if this one is a girl she'll be wearing her brother's clothes for a good wee while. Well actually until the 8 month mark which is when DS really started crawling and ruining all his clothes so we chucked them out. He has some REALLY cute baby stuff though and I can't wait to see it all again.

Hennycluckington · 24/08/2012 08:37

Doh! Should have said 16+4

Glucose in my urine yesterday Sad had gestational diabetes with previous 2 DC but had a glucose tolerance test a week ago and it came back clear so thought may e this time I had got away with it.
Re testing urine next Wed, if glucose present the have to another GTT.

On a positive note heard fetal heartbeat, she found it straight away and the kids came in with me and heard it. It was so nice they both had big grins in their faces.

iwanttogothere Hi, I too am a old bag a young looking 36.

WitchityBroom · 24/08/2012 14:34

IWantToGoThere: good name. I considered MeWantFood. (I'm presuming you know what I'm on about).

HennyCluckington: I sometimes think I can feel some movement at night but I'm only 15+1 and it's my first, so is this perhaps just my imagination?

Does anyone else feel quite big and rounded some days then not so much the next? I keep getting paranoid thinking something's gone wrong. Think I just need to chill out. Grin

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 24/08/2012 14:36

I'm an old hag too, 37. I forgot how old I was yesterday and thought I was 36 gutted!

LauraPalmer · 24/08/2012 16:56

Another hag here - a big whopping 38.

Has anyone else been ridiculously clumsy? I swear my equilibrium has completely gone on holiday.

Had a bit of a splurge today and bought the most gorgeous soft Mat leggings at Mamas & Papas. Was going to get the cheaper ones from Topshop but they were horrible! It was well worth the £7 difference. I highly recommend. they're so soft!

IWantToGoToThere · 25/08/2012 20:04

Witchity I was devastated that LizLemon was taken otherwise I would have gone for that.

Brilliant that there is a good group of us mature ladies. I thought I would be the only OAP here. I don't know how long you guys were all trying, but I thought my ovaries were too dusty and creaky to throw out an egg as it took about 18 months to get this one (after a false start last September).

I am pretty much always clumsy so can't say I've noticed a difference. I did have my first ever nose bleed earlier this week though which was very pleasant indeed.

I too had a splurge today. Went shopping with my very sorry-for-himself DH today (raging hangover) and we bought a new bed. It cost more than I care to think about but it is The Most Comfortable Thing ever. Can't wait for it to be delivered in 7 weeks. Not sure that it's going to make getting out of bed repeatedly in the middle of the night to feed a newborn any easier, and I had to PROMISE that my waters wouldn't break on it, but it will be worth it!

LauraPalmer · 26/08/2012 07:49

Oooooh, new bed! We're in the process of choosing a new one but I hadn't even thought about the possibility of my waters breaking on it! Is this your first DC IWant?

I know there's a Feb stats list somewhere...but have never bothered managed to add myself.

IWantToGoToThere · 26/08/2012 13:01

I haven't added myself either. I'm a bit unreliable when it comes to posting!

This is my second. Have a DS who will be 3 in December. I'm far more anxious about this pregnancy than I ever was about the first time around though. I think maybe this time I'm more knowledgeable about what could go wrong and I'm not really allowing myself to get excited. My nuchal results came back at 1 in 536 or thereabouts which is far too high (a chance) for my liking. I was 1 in 5000 with DS. Still, probably not bad for an old bird.

leopardprintlover · 29/08/2012 17:27

Hi guys,

First post - First baby - but older mum - 38, less of the old hags girls! 15wks plus 6 - so Feb 14 baby.

Anyway, what I wanted to know was how big has everyone got? I have a rounded tum but no bump, was rounded anyway - fat child! But want a bump now so that everyone knows I'm pregnant - does anyone else?

Just got my first maternity bra last week - not the prettiest of things - is anyone else starting to buy maternity clothes? If so any suggestions on where to buy.

Cheers, big ears,

LauraPalmer · 29/08/2012 20:08

I'm a week ahead of you leopard and I'm obviously showing as I was offered a seat on the train yesterday and today an acquaintance said to me, 'either you've gotten fat in a weird way or you're expecting!'. lucky for her it's the latter Grin

Hennycluckington · 29/08/2012 22:58

Yes I have a definate bump, from under ribs to nethers..... But this is DC3 so everything is more loose a bit stretchier.
In maternity clothes now, in fact the first pair of materning jeans I bought were the 'under the bump style' are now too tight but were brilliant when my regular size 10's got too uncomfortable.
My DM keeps telling me I must haves dates wrong as I look much further along Hmm "no mother it has been dated with the scan and it's the right size for how many weeks I am" ....obviously she knows better than the qualified experienced midwives Grin

Re-tested urine this morning, no Glucose yeah!

Are we going to do a due date list?

Have everyone's springs subsided yet?

Want2bSupermum · 30/08/2012 00:41

Feeling rather large myself in that I am swollen all over. It is 90F here and humid so it does tend to happen. Had lunch yesterday and got really sick from it. I threw up on the way home and then had to call the obn after I had 4 watery bm's in an hour plus pucked another 2 times. Luckily I didn't have to go into the ER for liquids.

Apart from that not much else is going on. This pregnancy seems to be ticking along. Weight gain so far is 1.5lbs after yesterdays episode.... brownies are calling my name.....

LauraPalmer · 30/08/2012 06:56

Fahrenheit, Wants? Are you in the US? (Sorry to hear about your difficult day.)

I went to dinner with a friend last night and ordered two entrees. Of which I are every bite. Grin

IWantToGoToThere · 30/08/2012 08:00

I'm already, ahem, generously proportioned especially on my tummy so depending on what I wear I can look about 6 monnths pregnant already which is depressing. My baby bump has pushed my tummy fat up so I kind of have 2 bumps which looks fetching as I still have a definite waistline in the middle. Very strange. Yesterday I wore an empire line white cotton shirt from Gap which ties under the bust and I looked so pregnant. Was quite nice not to feel fat actually. The weirdest thing was I started acting really pregnant because I was so aware of my stomach so was walking like I was about to drop.

Supermum you sound like you're really struggling in the heat. For once I'm glad we're having a rubbish summer over here and it hasn't been all that hot.

In other news, we booked our gender scan for this Saturday and I have my 16w midwife appointment today. Not sure if she'll try to listen for the heartbeat as I understand that's no longer what they do, but am hoping so. I am feeling faint squirmy movements most days so I'm pretty sure things are ok.

queenrollo · 30/08/2012 08:03

hello all.

16+3 here and seem to have the return of morning nausea Sad not sure though as I've woken up with a stuffy nose and headache the last few days and yesterday DH worked from home as he was obviously unwell.
I have so much housework to do (weeks worth of laundry from camping) and I just feel too absolutely wiped out to do it.

Also having to think about what I say at my next midwife appt. I have been placed under consultant care at the hospital and I really don't feel there is any need for it. I am most annoyed because I saw the registrar and didn't find out who my consultant was until the letter arrived last week. It's the same blethering idiot I had for my fertility problems. I discharged myself from his care after my surgery, and am in the process of writing a complaint about him so there is no way that I will accept him leading my ante-natal care.
I'm very cross about it and trying not to get stressed.

In other happier news I can definitely feel my baby moving now.

Want2bSupermum · 31/08/2012 00:44

Yes - I am in the US - Northern New Jersey to be exact. It was food poisioning. I reported my sickness to the township of the town where I ate and the health inspector did a spot check yesterday and closed them down for a deep clean. They called my obn and myself today as one worker had chlorobacter and another had samonella. I stopped by the lab today for testing and get the results back tomorrow. I called the paediatrician yesterday and they told me to have DH make DD's food until the test results come back and to call back if I am infected with anything.

queen I see where you are coming from. Not great to have a consultant looking after you who is the subject of a complaint from prior treatment. I am sure there must be a way around this.

I thought I felt my baby moving this morning but it was probably wind from the food poisioning.

IWantToGoToThere · 31/08/2012 14:49

Supermum how horrible and frightening. Hope the tests come back soon and put your mind at rest. I know that our immunity is compromised when pregnant and even minor ailments make you feel much much worse than you would normally, so hopefully it only feels serious.

Panzee · 31/08/2012 16:14

Hello everyone, it's been a while but I've been on holiday and also had an amnio so was keeping my head down for a while. I had it on Wednesday and they called today to say all was well - and it's a boy! This is my 2nd child, my first is also a boy. :) I have been on tenterhooks for weeks, and can finally breathe!

IWantToGoToThere · 31/08/2012 19:54

Congratulations panzee. Pleased everything went well with the amnio and congratulations on your little boys!

Want2bSupermum · 01/09/2012 02:00

Good news is that I got samonella but that I only felt the effects because I was pregnant. They said I am fine to handle DD's food which is great because DH probably would have fed her a happy meal tonight if I wasn't watching him! Yesterday he bought mickey mouse shaped chicken nuggets home with him because he said grilling chicken takes too long. My DD is NOT eating bloody disney themed chicken nuggets.

StrangelyCalm · 01/09/2012 15:28

I definitely have a bump - people that I don't know very well are congratulating me, so it must be ovious now (17+5). Still managing with my stretchy Sainsbury's trousers (bought a THIRD pair!), but also got some Next maternity jeans online. I'm usually between a 10 and 12 (convince myself I can squeeze into a 10 usually), so ordered a 12 (over the bump style) and they are great, but still very big! So, hoping they last the whole way through.

sarah8787 · 02/09/2012 21:46

Hi i just joined this site today, but its great to be able to talk to other people who know how your feeling. Went for a 12 week scan on Friday, so it was a great surprise to be so far along. Due on 7 feb 2013. Dont have too much of a Bump yet but looking forward to feeling it kicking and moving.
