Mines gone loads smaller.. I think it was initial bloating & fluid and I've also started to wear looser clothes too and that made a difference.

Bloody knackered again today. I did read its all this making the placenta that does it, so hopefully not long left of feeling tired.

LauraPalmer · 01/08/2012 10:38

Hevan could you arrange to have a Skype date with DSD and tell her 'face to face' that way? If not that then could you tell her over the phone?

Either way it's your news to share - and it's not really the BioM's right to control how that's handled. As I mentioned earlier, we're going to tell DSS and then inform his BioM before he goes to visit her. I think it's really important for such big family news (that will have an impact on DSC's life with you) to come directly from the parents who are the ones having the new baby. It will help bring confidence to your DSD and reassure her of her place in your family.

Informing the BioM is a curtesy measure (and a bit of insurance that she puts on a brave happy face!)

Hevaniceday · 01/08/2012 12:29

Laura we are currently going through solicitors to get contact with DSD, at the moment we can't speak with her or see her - BioMums decision although i'm fairly sure it is not being portrayed this way to DSD.

BioMum has seriously thrown her dummy out of the pram since we got married last year and things have gone down hill between her and my DH significantly since then. When we got to the start of this year her demands were becoming beyond rediculous and we spoke with our solicitor who suggested a contact order being in place.

There is potentially another 4-5 months in this process and if she continues digging her heels in despite the problems this is causing DSD I will be well on my way by then.

We would like something putting in plce with regards to the contact order for our DC to be brought up as DSD sibling and so there really is no way round putting this in via solicitor.

Hi folks. Sorry I never updated after my scan last week. All looking good. Separate placentas and sacs which is best way to carry twins, lowest of the risks, although still high risk obviously.

I'm properly shattered. My DD is not well so I also had to get up every hour to her last night. I'm not sure if she's coming down with the dreaded pox as I've seen a few spots, but I'm hoping it's teething or a virus and not that.

Hope everyone else is doing ok, I've not really looked back I'm sorry.

LauraPalmer · 01/08/2012 15:26

Yikes Heva that sounds like a right mess! How horrible for you and DH. Perhaps you should just keep 'mum' about the pregnancy until the contact order is in place? How old is DSD?

Great news on the double placentas Look - it will be fun to follow your progress as I've never known anyone while they were pregnant with twins!

Hope everyone is having a lovely day. Smile

StrangelyCalm · 01/08/2012 15:45

Hello everyone, hope all well today?
I had a really lazy day yesterday, actually had a "day off" and just sat and watched the Olympics while eating chocolate biscuits - heaven!

I did have a bit of a panic in the evening though, just wondering how on earth we're going to manage with a baby - this is all a bit unexpected! Feel better and calmer today though - we all just manage somehow, don't we?

Wiggy29 · 01/08/2012 15:58

All went well at scan. Was earlier than I thought (10&6) so we have been told we can have one at 16w when we are back from
Our extended holiday- really pleased we'll get an extra scan.

Wiggy29 · 01/08/2012 16:01

Ps- sonographer wrote typed a special message to our ds on the Scan photo we're going to give him- how sweet! Had no idea you could do such things.

Hevaniceday · 01/08/2012 16:04

Wow LookAtHerGo how exciting TWINS!!!

Laura I dont want to have to go through this all again once we got contact order sorted to ensure our DC has the opportunity to see his/her sister whilst growing up :( DSD was 6 yesterday, absolutely devasted we didnt get to speak with her on her birthday and all her presents are on our dining table

Want2bSupermum · 01/08/2012 17:51

Hevan Sorry to hear that about your DSD. It must be awful for your DH and DSD.

I decided to get my scan later as last time I had it at 11 weeks exactly and the 2nd scan at 23 weeks (very late but I was away with work). This time I am doing my first scan at 12+5 and hope to do my 2nd scan at 18-19 weeks.

We have also decided to find out the baby's gender this time and name them. My sister is 5 weeks behind me so we want to be sure to get in there first with the name. There is a risk that we might pick the same name, especially if we both have a boy. My sister is very passive agressive and is not to be trusted. Safest way to ensure we get the one name DH and I agree to is to beat her to it!

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 01/08/2012 18:56

There's a twin scan on the fb group. Tempted! It's amazing to see!

bopfactory · 02/08/2012 21:55

Phew, finally had my scan this morning and all seems well - 2 days ahead of where I thought, so 12+2 today.

Told DD (7) and DS1 (5), they were thrilled with the news! DS2 (17mo) was fairly indifferent!

Off on camping hols tomorrow so currently in packing chaos! Really must go to bed soon...

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 02/08/2012 22:07

Congrats bop. Big relief isn't it. I had my eyes shut through half of mine I was so scared!

LauraPalmer · 03/08/2012 07:44

Lovely news Bop and what a wonderful reaction from DC!

Pinkie29 · 03/08/2012 11:16

Congrats bop! Mine went well too thank god Smile we were 12+3 exactly what we thought so due February 10th

LauraPalmer · 03/08/2012 11:47

Now I'm very confused - at our scan last week the Grublet measured 11+5, which gives us an EDD of Feb. 9th. So today I'm 12+6, but Pinkie you're 12+3 and due on the 10th? Someone please explain!

LauraPalmer · 03/08/2012 11:47

Congrats on the good scan btw! Smile

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 03/08/2012 12:03

Mine was odd as well Laura. 11 & 3 Tuesday and edd of 17th.

She worked it out on the wheely thing.

Panzee · 03/08/2012 21:28

Hello all! I've been aware of this thread since early June, but finally feel able to join! I'm due on 12th Feb, just been moved a couple of days by my 12 week scan. How are we all?

Just had my 20 week scan appointment through too - not as far away as I thought - yikes!

Pinkie29 · 04/08/2012 12:36

I think they're done mine based on the date of last period and that was the date the lady doing the scan said, maybe it's conception dates confusing things? Ours was conceived with either 3 day old sperm or on the day I ov'd plus I guess they look at the size of the foetus too when giving a due date? That's my theory anyways Smile

InchyInchy · 04/08/2012 15:58

Hello another newbie jumping in, I'm due on the 8th of Feb - Had my 12 week scan and so relieved to see the lovely little bean wiggling about.

Look forward to getting to know you all better!

starshine31 · 04/08/2012 19:04

Is it too late to have another feb newbie join? Not told any friends yet but really wanting to chat about everthing going on.... x

Hennycluckington · 05/08/2012 07:20

Never too late for newbies, hello and welcome.

I'm 14 weeks today! Seems as though symptoms are slowly tailing off, didn't feel nauseous at all yesterday and not as exhausted in the evening. Maybe this is when I start to bloom Wink

Anyone else experiencing any symptoms improving?

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 05/08/2012 10:00

I had but this weekend have been absolutely exhausted kept falling asleep sitting up yesterday!

You've given me a bit if hope henny am about 12wks now.

Bring on blooming!

Pinkie29 · 05/08/2012 15:03

Henny I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and (touch wood) I've felt a bit less sick the last couple of days so hoping I'm getting to the 'blossoming' stage Smile
