And some more good news from me! Back from the scan and all is well. Little one moving about and looking lovely. Neck measurement was nice and small too. Due date is 30th December, a whole week earlier!

Had my early private scan yesterday at 8+4 and saw little heartbeat on the bean - feel so much happier and positive now. Still a bit awed that i actually have a living being inside of me with a heartbeat!

Godzookey I had a big work event when i was just 5 weeks and managed to disguise the not drinking (quite well i thought) Becks Blue and a wine glass full of sparkling water (white wine spritzers)

Im starting to get some of my energy back now....Im 12.2 today so hoping I may be out of the woods with all the puking and sleeping! Break up for summer in 4 weeks HURRAH! so hope I will be full of beans for that! x

I have just received the Seraphine linen trousers and they are dead comfy and a good fit on the bum and legs. They need taking up an inch or so but thats no problem. Think I'm set now for my posh day in London next month.

Lovely hearing scans are going well :) no idea when mine is yet. I am bored of being sick now :( nothing helps !!!!!

Oh, wow, the scans are really coming now! Congrats to all on your good news, and fingers crossed for everyone else!

I still have 3 and a half weeks to wait for mine, although TBH I just had to look that up on the calendar. Went to a GP appointment about something else last week and he asked me how many weeks pregnant I thought I was, and I had no idea, we had to look it up . I think second-child syndrome may be kicking in already.

I just had the weekend from hell. DH was away all weekend (well, Thurs-Sun), I'm coping with withdrawal symptoms from some meds I had to stop, and side effects from others I've started, I'm knackered and nauseous, and to top it all DS got the most horrendous tummy bug on Sat. I only discovered he was sick when I went to get him up on Sat morning to find him covered in drying vomit. So I got to spend the first half hour of Sat morning trying to wash out bits of vomitted-up food that had dried in DS's long hair, and sort of dreadlocked it. I was retching that much I had to get my own sick bucket for next to the bath, lovely. At least newborns only vomit milk! Which DS did too, about an hour later, all down my leg. Lovely.

Oh, and I think I can top the ridiculous hospital letters. Two days before I got my scan date of 19th July, I got a letter for an appointment on 26th October! It appears to be for a glucose tolerance test, the reasons for which apparently my midwife will have explained to me. She hasn't mentioned it, I'm assuming it's because my BMI is now 35? (Baby weight from DS slowly turned into cake-weight...)

Great news for all the positive scans, I still havent had my scan appointment yet and I'm 11+3 now getting very anxious.

I've got a blighted ovum so having a d&c on Fri. So if someone could take me off the list thanks.

I am now quietly freaking out that there is something wrong with peanut because we havent seen him yet DH is standing firm and insisting we wait for the official scan !! Ive had no bleeding or signs or anything in fact I thought i felt movement today but my mind is running rampant with doomsday scenarios

theboutique I think it's very normal to feel like that. It seems such a little miracle and we do so little to make it all happen (!) that you can hardly believe it's real, but despite some of the bad news people have had on this thread, these things are still very rare, especially in the later weeks. In our parent's days they never had scans at all and in some ways I think it makes it harder for us as without them, (and without any nasty symptoms), you'd just get on and look forward to meeting your baby at about 40 weeks! Easier said than done not to worry (I worried too!) but you've really no need to unless you have good reason to.

theboutiquemummy I would be contacting your Midwife or consultant secretary in the morning and getting them to chase the scan date if I were you. My midwife told me to let her know if I hadn't heard by about 10 days time from when she did the scan referral but it came through within a few days.

I hated the waiting and waiting for 12 week scan, I never bothered with an early scan as I had no problems either but it is rubbish counting down the days til you can properly confirm you are really in fact pregnant and its not actually just a food baby

Boutique -i know exactly what you mean, am so impatient to just get the date through now and the next few weeks are going to be a nightmare with time off work/holiday cover etc. Our MD sent a scan around of his baby due @ Christmas today so makes sense that i haven't had scan date confirmed yet but it's making me even more desperate to start sharing the news but know it's not sensible just yet. Dying to buy DH that book on Amazon that someone recommended a while back too but don't want to tempt fate so holding out on that - will have to content myself with reading the Bounty pack i was given yesterday.

Congratulations to everyone who had positive scans - hope we hear from Happy soon.

Hello ladies, can I join? I've been meaning to post in this thread for ages but, well, couldn't find the energy. Congrats to all Jan mums-to-be.

I think I'm 11 weeks so that would mean I'm due on the 11th of Jan (DS3's birthday) but in all likelihood will have a c-section at 39 weeks, so probably will deliver around the 4th.

This is my 4th baby. I have 3 lovely boys (2 Jan babies and a Feb baby - It's going to be a bloody expensive 3months for the next 20 years - who planned that?) and I reckon this one is a boy as well although DS2 seems to have had a premonition that it's a girl. We haven't told the kids about the baby yet, but we were talking about families and how different they all are and he pipes up that some families only have 2 children, but we have 4! When I said "No, look there's 1,2,3 children" he said "No, mummy I can see in your tummy, 1,2,3,4, 3 boys and a girl" - Spooky (hope it wasn't bloody quads he 'saw').

I've been feeling pretty rough for the last 5 weeks, totally exhausted (practically narcoleptic), constant nausea and a bloody awful taste in my mouth (never had that before). My house is an absolute disgrace and I haven't cooked a proper meal in so long, I think I've forgotten how. Thankfully DH has been a star, despite him working 2 jobs but I reckon he's counting the days till the first trimester is over.

I went to the midwife a couple of weeks ago but haven't actually been booked in yet, gah! Last time, with DS3, I made an appointment with my GP who, when informing her of my upduffedness said "That's nice. Why are you telling me?" as it turns out I just needed to make an appointment with the midwife directly. So this time, determined not to make the same mistake, booked an appointment directly with the midwife (Gold Star, pat on the back for organised ole me) only to be told that the system had changed and I needed to see the doc first who would then refer me to the hospital where the bookings in now take place and then make appoints with the midwife after that. Seeing the doctor on Friday, so it's probably going to be a few more weeks before my first scan. Boo!

Anyway, I've banged on about myself enough, as you were!

Sorry... I was too hyper yesterday to do anything!! Got a very perfect little thing wriggling around in my tummy!

I really was thinking that there was nothing there and when she couldn't find it to begin with the panic started but I just had too full a bladder and the sprog was wriggling quite happily! Glad there is good news elsewhere too.
