SquealyB · 27/06/2012 09:45

Quick question....I am now 9+ 5 according to my dates and my symptoms seem to be easing off a bit. Less nausated, less moody etc. However my paranoid brain is telling me that maybe this means something is wrong? Could do with a little bit of reassurance???!

Birdies · 27/06/2012 09:59

allchik the sex drive does come back though so don't worry! Something to do with, ahem, all the blood going to that region as you get more pregnant!

Squealy someone else here had the same thing but I remember reading that symptoms can drop off at about 9 weeks. If they're only easing off I wouldn't worry, just enjoy it! If they disappear then maybe ring your midwife to see what she thinks, but I think without any bleeding as well it shouldn't be a cause for concern.

Have a lovely day everyone x

theboutiquemummy · 27/06/2012 10:05

SquealyB it was me my symptoms have eased off a bit still quite sick but the boobs have gone down a bit and arnt so sore. I used to have growing cramps they seemed to have eased off a bit to now its just terrible wind

CraftyGirly · 27/06/2012 10:41

sorry to hear your news lazycoo :(
I've got terrible bloating, I look about 6 months gone never mind only 11 weeks Shock Boobs a lot less sore today, thought I'd be pleased but it's a vicious circle! once I've had scan symptoms can come and go all they want and I wont be as worried!
I've got an odd sort of nausea, it's mainly when I see/smell/think about certain foods. I've totally gone off meat although I can force down the odd bit of chicken but anything else makes me feel like chucking up. past few weeks the tiredness has been totally unbearable and I've been asleep in the daytime as well as all night, but yesterday and today it's not been too bad, this growing a person thing is hard work! scan is in 2 weeks, can't come soon enough...

mrsbugsywugsy · 27/06/2012 12:29

Squealy I'm one day behind you and my symptoms seem to be easing off too. Although I've noticed that they seem to come and go, and get worse when I am tired.

My jeans are starting to feel tight too, although probably just bloating/too much bread and pasta.

DiscoDomina · 27/06/2012 12:41

Well Squealy i'm 9 weeks and haven't had any MS, only recently i started to have some killer burn and indegestion. My boobs are only occasionly achey/painful and this lack of symptons did worry me- but on Sunday i saw with my own eyes at a private scan that everything was ok and it reallly is true that some women get no MS at all and that symptoms ease off at different points for others Smile

MarasmeAbsolu I see its your scan date today. Good luck and let us know how it went won't you?

SquealyB · 27/06/2012 13:08

Thanks all for the reassurance. Mild paranoia remains but. It as bad as it was this morning!

BuntyCollocks · 27/06/2012 13:39

So sorry,cartoon and lazycoo :(

Congrats to all who have had lovely scan, and good luck for today, Marasme!

theboutiquemummy · 27/06/2012 14:06

its nice to know not the only one with temperamental symptoms :o this little peanut seems to have a mind of its own well you know what i mean

My scan date arrived whoot 5th July in the afternoon.

SpringFlowers · 27/06/2012 15:04

Great work on the list Pascha!

Boutique - I'm delighted you got your date through and not long to wait either.

I'm having an awful day, I am so lack lustre and tired and nauseous. 10+4 today and I'm really hoping that I will feel better soon after 12 weeks. It's usually more like 14 weeks for me but I can't bear the thought of feeling like this for another three weeks.

Good luck for scans today!

DontmindifIdo · 27/06/2012 16:01

right, so I've also not had the date through for my scan, and am 10 weeks now, DH is going away the week I'll be 14 weeks so I really want it at 12 weeks. I've left a message on the midwives' answering machine, should I be bothering the hospital? (Last time round I had my appointment sent a month in advance and didn't have to think about it)

Also now decided I'm hitting an economy drive, I've decided I'm taking a whole year off with this one so need to start building up some reserves - which also gives me a good excuse to be turning down invites out, and therefore not having the 'you aren't drinking?' discussion...

StormBird · 27/06/2012 16:33

a little tip...............if anyone has got do's coming up where they would've been getting reasonably drunk I always find the 'I'm on anti-biotics' trick works Smile

SquealyB · 27/06/2012 16:37

Or on a detox (but that does not go so well with the eating of junk food Wink)

Good luck for today Marasme!

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow afternoon.....eeeeek! Very nervous and excited but it will probably be a massive anti-climax.

MarasmeAbsolu · 27/06/2012 20:00

Back and all well! Thank you!

Saw one little baby with a flickering heartbeat. My hospital is still in training for NT measurement, so I agreed to be a test patient for them to train. While they don't give you official measurements, I got to spy a bit and will be googling later on.
All seems well, new EDD is January 3rd although there is no way this is (we are so very predictable indeed ... sorry TMI). I got the usual bloods, pee, breath tests etc. and also got to speak to the consultant. Really relieved that it is not the one we had last time. This one was really nice, spoke to me about my last section (failed induction at 42wks over 3+ days, no membrane ruptured due to prolapse risk, and eventually CS). He asked me about my plans and whether I was happy to give it another shot. I said no, he said fair enough and that was it.
Which is good I guess, in the perspective of DD's birth fiasco. So if the little one hang on til 39 weeks, his birthday will be 27/12.

pmgkt · 27/06/2012 20:09

Marase - sound similar to my labour last time although i dont get to see my consultant till mid august after my 20 week scan. i hope i get an kind person too as i really cant face another 3 days of nothingness to end in a section. that would mean i may have it on 21st dec so hope to be out by xmas.

MarasmeAbsolu · 27/06/2012 21:21

last time I had a really crap time post CS and was in for a week - bad reaction to anesthetics, BP lower than low (glorious naked collapsing in the shower, to be wheeled back in through a corridor full of visitors... glorious I tell you), and intolerance to morphine (puking and puking and puking at each morphine bolus).
So I pretty much hope this time will be better!
I am so much more worried this time, it's mad.

I must say, the consultant was lovely - it has restored a bit of faith in me for consultant-led care. Hope your experience will be the same pgmkt

happyhow · 28/06/2012 06:49

Is anyone else's husband being a complete and utter dick about telling people? I spent 45 minutes crying in bed last might because he's being an arse about telling his family. All my relief and excitement has been sucked out of me and now I just feel angry Angry and frustrated. Not exactly great only 2 days after you've had your scan.

tinyeyes123 · 28/06/2012 07:10

That's rubbish, happy. Is it that he's still nervous or just being an insensitive prick?! Sure he'll come round once he sees how happy people are for you.

Going to tell work today, don't think they've guessed so should be fun. Just a bit worried about one work friend who's been through IVF with no luck. Don't want her to be sad.

MarasmeAbsolu · 28/06/2012 07:35

Happy - is he not willing to tell them while you would want to, or the contrary?
I must say I would tend to be like him if the former.
It still felt a bit fragile and private to us last time and we wanted to keep it to us a bit longer (til after the anomaly scan). DH's family is very religious and expects a lot of "acountablity" which for sure they don t get from me.
But say anything had gone wrong with tests etc at 14 or 20 weeks, we felt we d deal with it better by ourselves.

We ll have to tell parents earlier this time just because i cannot conceal the preg any longer and summer is coming. Parents live far away but visits are impending...

Hope you both find a solution or compromise that suit you!

happyhow · 28/06/2012 07:36

He's quite emotionally retarded at times so I don't think he realised how much it upset me. I've just cried into my cereal so he's got the point. He said he's tried phoning his sis and bro but couldn't get hold of them, it wasn't that he was avoiding telling them.

I thought I had my hormones completely in check. Obviously not. Wink

Pascha · 28/06/2012 08:53

I sort of understand where he's coming from. I was the one who waited 4 days and texted my brothers and sister rather than face an actual conversation. DH was quite annoyed about it - same as you.

SquealyB · 28/06/2012 11:00

happy different people deal with spreading the happy news in very different ways and it is definitely a reflection of their personalities.

I am sure he did not mean to be "emotionally retarded" and that fact that he tried to phone his bro and sis after you got upset shows that he does really care about your feelings and how things impact on you (which is the most important thing Smile). He obviously loves you (and you soon to be newest family member) very much.

As for pregnancy hormones - I am very much the same, tears come at the slightest provocation. I even cried at the news the other day Blush.
