How was your DH when he got home trouble?

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/08/2012 09:58

He did let me know that he was running late - got in at 6.30 so will have to see what happens tonight! I sent him a nice photo of Fyfe this morning to encourage him! Wink

Davinaaddict · 03/08/2012 13:08

Morning all - sorry I've not been posting, but I have been reading. Just sooooo tired Sad Lauren just refuses to get into any sort of routine and either spends all day asleep (usually when we're out) or no sleep at all. Either way, evenings are horrific with so much feeding required. Overnights aren't too bad but just not good enough for me to recover ready for the next day Sad I nearly flipped last night as I'd just had enough and practically threw her into her Dads arms BlushSad But the she wouldn't settle for him either. I'm hoping for a bit if rest tonight as I'm going to bed as soon as I can. Just hoping for a better night tonight Sad Ok now I'm completely losing it - I just had to check I hadn't put my phone in the freezer Blush Sorry that was very moany & me, me, me. Right, time to get my head out of my arse!

Shock at your accident McKayz Although I'm a little surprised you're not ready for DC4 Wink Grin

What gorgeous babies Bun Smile

Happy belated 5months Fyfe! I still can't believe there is just shy of a full month between him and Lauren when Lauren was due before Fyfe Smile And your DH was being a twat slightly horrible. I don't think they have a clue what a day at home involves, especially when we're trying to run a home as well as look after the babies Confused It's all I can do to put a load of washing on and do the dishwasher, let alone do anything for me (shower, eat etc). Luckily DH doesn't expect an immaculate house or his tea on the table. Good job really! Although trying to get him to help is more difficult. He'll do stuff, but only if I ask him. He won't think to get off his backside and do it otherwise unless it involves food Grin To be fair to him though he did clean & tidy the kitchen last night when I asked him to.

Glad Violet's feeling better Mamma Smile

So my Shred DVD turned up yesterday - Sunday is the first day I'm going to do it as we're out all day tomorrow Smile But I've done loads of walking this week, so hoping I'll have lost a pound or so this week anyway. I might have to post daily on here though Grin Unless we start another thread in the weight loss section? How's it going with you fools? Have you got yours yet McKayz? Must say, watching the Olympics is spurring me on Torch Smile

Sorry I've probably missed loads Blush

Davinaaddict · 03/08/2012 13:25

Oh great - and now bloody AF is here! Angry Time to raid the chocolate stash Grin

foolserrand · 03/08/2012 18:43

Peter: Well, there seems to be an absence of a certain ornithological piece. A headline regarding mass awareness of a certain avian variety.

Oh, have you not heard? It was my understanding that everyone had heard...

This is my brain today. Mush. I am no good to anyone Grin. Totally lost the plot. But, since we have all been somewhat quiet, I thought you all needed a good groan. Grin

Davinaaddict · 03/08/2012 19:04

I have no idea what you're on about Grin So much so I even wondered if you posted on the right thread! Grin

elliebug · 03/08/2012 19:15

About the bird Grin

foolserrand · 03/08/2012 19:47

The bird is the word, dontcha know Wink

How's it going, Ellie?

McKayz · 03/08/2012 19:56

Hope you're ok Ellie

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/08/2012 20:01

AnchorBun · 03/08/2012 20:55

It's from Family Guy Mamma Smile

Davinaaddict · 03/08/2012 20:59

Ah, that's why I have no clue! I'm not a Family Guy fan Smile Hi Ellie! Hope things are better for you Smile

elliebug · 03/08/2012 21:08

Hi everyone Smile sorry I've been absent, I've been finding everything really difficult. DP has been great but I've just been struggling, not really sure why, I didn't expect having a baby to be easy but no way did I expect it to be this hard Sad tbh I think he is quite a good baby, I have no idea how those of you with teethy, waking through the night, poorly babies cope and mckayz, doing it on your own, wow. I've also turned into one of those horribly anxious mums who stresses about everything, my current thing is that jake isn't gaining weight properly, he had dropped down a few centiles and he only drinks 20-25oz a day which doesn't seem very much, so please, if you've got this far tell me to man up!! Sorry for the offload, haven't really got anyone in rl to chat to Sad

elliebug · 03/08/2012 21:11

Ugh, long self centred post Blush
Whoever was asking AIBU, no, I expect a phone call when oh leaves work and of I've not had it after 15min I ring him!! And get very grumpy if he is gonna be late!!

AnchorBun · 03/08/2012 21:21

Oh Ellie for not offloading before now! It is really bloody hard and we've all had rants on here before now!
Sorry, I don't have a clue about Jakes weight loss, have you spoken to your HV or DR?

OP posts:
elliebug · 03/08/2012 21:28

Thanks, you all seemed like you had more reasons than me to be struggling yet all being amazing mums so I just felt a bit silly! We saw consultant on mon who said everything was fine but we were referred before the milk swap and so I think we all thought it was a waste of an appt and it wasn't till I got home an looked in his red book I realised, I'm a bit Blush at going to the hv again as I go about every week worrying about something stupid, they always remember I'm a nurse which makes me feel even more stupid, (I left my nursing brain at work! Seriously, I has to be told to give jake calpol when he was poorly as it didnt occur to me!)

ghosteditor · 03/08/2012 21:31

Grin at avian shenanigans Grin

But hugs for ellie. You sound really down - it's hard for all of us and we all feel like that from time to time.

Have you seen this link, which is the Edinburgh PND test? Can be helpful in qualifying whether you're feeling normal level new mum angst or something that needs a bit more attention. Smile

foolserrand · 03/08/2012 21:40

ellie hugs Nobody finds this easy! We all forget things and worry about something stupid. An example: I just gave Fliss to dh because I thought I was hurting her... Nope, she had to fart Blush Being a nurse probably makes you more inclined to worry, you would be more exposed to the worst cases than, say, I have been.

Please come back more often. Especially when you find it hard, it's why we all joined these threads, to give and receive support when we need it. Making friends is a huge bonus! Grin I hate to think you're struggling and worrying on your own. You will never sound like you are whining or being silly, and hopefully someone will always be able to help.

foolserrand · 03/08/2012 21:41

That, I'm, 'link' leads to nothing. I fucked up. Brain, mush.

AnchorBun · 03/08/2012 22:30

Yup, what they said! Wink

The first night we had Lilly at home she was screaming with trapped wind, I thought there was something seriously wrong with her and that we'd have to take her to A&E - and that's my second child Blush Thank goodness DP was there, I'd have made a right tit of myself!
Babies are bloody hard to work out sometimes, there's so much responsibility it can be really daunting.

We've missed you and want to help wherever possible!

MammaInTheMaking · 04/08/2012 06:49

Ah ellie please come on here more often when you're feeling worried or low. To be honest this is one of the first places I come to now when I need some advise/reassurance/rant. This thread really has been fantastic for support over the last year for me. babies are super hard work, I think I underestimated it too! But we get on and the good bits far outweigh the bad bits. Please come and write on here whenever you want, no thought is silly or less important than another.

I have never seen Family Guy either. I'm a bit poo when it comes to telly and films. Except I do know Friends back to front!

Big news here is Violet just slept 8 hours in a row!!!! Today is her BBQ party. Typically it's raining after such a lovely day yesterday. Never mind! We had a housewarming BBQ (exactly 9 months before she was born WinkWink ) last year and the weather was the same then, didn't dampen our spirits Smile

How's DP doing now trouble? My friend's baby who's 13 months has got 4 teeth now. 2 at bottom front (front bottom!) and then fangs at the top. It's hilarious!!!!!! Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 04/08/2012 08:56

ellie Sad sorry to hear you're having a hard time, much more sorry you haven't felt you can post here, we all care about you and want to share the lows as well as the highs.
mamma, great news re Violet's sleep, lucky you EnvyGrin I hope you have a wonderful BBQ today (but not quite as good as you did last year Wink )
DH is fine, thanks, everything is fine between us but need to sort out this communication issue still as he didn't let me know when he'd be back. I was at the pub with Fyfe and a friend so he actually rang me to see where I was HmmGrin I'm going to talk to him about it today.

Davinaaddict · 04/08/2012 09:43

Morning.

I agree with everyone else ellie Please do come and vent on here, especially as you say you've not much RL support. And I'm the queen of long, self centred posts Grin. Try not to worry too much about Jake's weight. Lauren dropped right through the centiles (I think it was something like 95 to 25, although they put her at 50 in her red book Hmm). Nobody even mentioned it to me! As she was still putting on weight and was otherwise a happy baby, then it's fine I believe. Some babies just don't follow charts Smile Apart from the weight thing, how is he? Nappies ok? Smiles, movements and gurgles? I've no idea how much milk Lauren is having, but Kellymom says that bf babies take an average of 25oz a day between 1-6 months. I know you've swapped Jake to ff but maybe that's just how much he needs Smile

at Mamma for your 8 hour sleep! Very Envy Grin. We managed a better evening last night which made a huge difference to how I feel today. Although I did the test that fools posted and I got 14, which is not too good Confused I don't feel depressed though, I just sometimes feel like I'm not coping very well when I don't sleep Blush I try to combat it though, and have a day when we don't do anything except go for a walk, so I can rest in between. That usually works Smile

How was your DH yesterday Trouble? Better I hope Smile Was he just having a bad day, do you think? Ooh just seen your latest post. Glad everything is ok. I actually love the fact that you were in the pub when he got home Grin

We're off to Emley Show today. There's going to be all sorts of animals as well as tractors and jousting so it should be a fab day. Wellies at the ready Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 04/08/2012 10:13

Grin sounds good davina
All sorted with DH, I'll assume he'll be home 5-5.30 and he'll let me know if later, a simple compromise! Smile
