Sorry xposts Davina that's shit! Get your act together man! Can you express a bottle to give to him today so you can have a good break?

That is annoying davina Sad He should do just as much as you when he's not at work. DP and I had a bit of a disagreement last night. He went out after work for drinks on an empty stomach. A good 3 hours drinking then got home and almost finished a bottle of wine (still not having eaten). He was in charge of Dd yesterday evening. We'd already agreed coz I had her all day and night on Thurs and yesterday I was knackered. After all that drink I just felt like I had to supervise him with her Sad. All made up now but still think it was irresponsible.

Opening ceremony was good! I had to go to bed when the teams came out though, will watch the rest today.

Well done Lilly on the cot sleeping!! What a star! Violet slept 7.5 hours last night. Has made a huge dent in my exhaustion Smile

ghosteditor · 28/07/2012 11:12

Envy at all you ladies with sleeping babies - DD slept 8-3, 3-5, 5-7 the other day and I felt golden! But stayed up for the ceremony last night and she woke 5 mins after I went to bed Hmm. I had 5.5 hours total last night...

Well done lilly!

And davina, definitely time for your DH to step up - mine has been taking DD from 6.30-8 ish and the extra sleep makes a world of difference to me. Was a real shock to the system this morning as he's away for a few nights.

Sooo tired!

AnchorBun · 28/07/2012 19:16

Well, they've gone to bed at the same time. This should be interesting! Especially because DP has had to go out to an emergency job Confused

OP posts:
AnchorBun · 28/07/2012 19:18

I hear giggling Hmm

Grin bun

AnchorBun · 28/07/2012 20:15

Well that was a big fail! I went in there to find DS dancing a toy monkey around the cot and Lilly laughing her head off! Then she got overtired so I took her out so DS could get to sleep, nearly an hour later, I've just plonked her in bed already asleep Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 28/07/2012 21:34

Oh my god, thread fell off BlushSad sorry! Have been reading every day! Smile

AnchorBun · 29/07/2012 03:53

6 times we've been woken by her and it's not even 4am. I think we can safely say last night was a fluke. Sad

OP posts:
McKayz · 29/07/2012 07:46

Davina, I think you need to kick him up the backside!! He's more than capable of taking her downstairs or something while you sleep. It's what my DH does if we've had a bad night.

Bun, I hope you got some sleep in the end. DS making her laugh with the monkey sounds very cute.

DD has almost outgrown her Moses basket. She's not even 6 weeks yet. I got moaned at by the HV as she keeps holding her head up for longer than she should at this age. Not sure how I'm meant to stop her. Confused

AnchorBun · 29/07/2012 08:13

Haha that's so ridiculous McKayz! What a plonker she sounds Grin

Finally managed to get Lilly to sleep at 5.30, she woke up at 8 Sad

OP posts:
TroubleAndFyfe · 29/07/2012 08:33

Sad poor you bun!
mckayz, that is ridiculous! It makes you wonder doesn't it?! Confused
davina hope you get some rest soon!
Sorry I haven't posted, been really busy with friends coming to stay this week and weekend. Fyfe's doing great, he's still been going to sleep at 8.15; been waking just twice (3 and 6) and getting up at 7.30/8 which is how it used to be, I'm appreciating it whilst it lasts! Also, he's had between 1 and 2 hours nap every afternoon for 3 days which is Shock for him! I'm going to mess it up today though as we're off to visit my dad! He can sleep in the car there and back though...I might too Grin
Still no second tooth! I'm checking for it every day! Smile

ghosteditor · 29/07/2012 09:55

mckayz, WHAT?! That's batty! Ignore, ignore Smile

McKayz · 29/07/2012 10:22

I am ignoring Grin

DD has been for her first walk in the sling. We've been out walking the dog and met up with my Mum and one of theirs.

ghosteditor · 29/07/2012 10:55

Yey for sling babies! We are making much use of hip carries in the ring sling these days Wink

AnchorBun · 29/07/2012 11:08

Alright, who was it this time? Stop breaking Lilly! Angry

EpicOde · 29/07/2012 11:47

Hello all!

I am home alone!!! It's rather nice! DP is out with Odie - buying us lunch from the patisserie, doing some food shopping and picking up a nice coffee for me (in my travel mug so it stays hot!) I am on the sofa (admittedly after doing a half hour blitz of the living room & kitchen first so it isn't a distracting mess!) and am finally able to use both hands to type an update! Oh the excitement!!

Odie is going great guns - I got him weighed at 13 weeks and he was 17lbs - back up to the 98th centile like he was at birth! Carrying him around, in my arms or sling, is knackering!! He's changing so quickly now; he sleeps on his back and actually likes lying on his back for nappy changes, naked time, mat time etc! The night before last I got him into his bednest for an entire hour! Was amazing! Sadly - he's so big when he waves his feet/arms around (which he does a lot when he dreams) he hits the sides of the cot - so we need something bigger :( what a waste of money the bednest turned out to be! But still, no way of knowing that was going to be the case and it should hopefully sell on for a reasonable amount. He's a super smiley, giggly, happy little boy and he's so much fun to be around! Grin He's had a horrid cold the last few weeks, so his sleep hasn't been as good as usual, he has even cried in the night a little bit! He's not really in any particular pattern beside going to sleep for the night around 9pm ish and waking up for the day at about 7am - he wakes up anywhere from every hour to not for 5 hours, is totally variable! But as he just feeds and goes back to sleep, we're getting enough sleep so i'm feeling pretty human luckily!

My back is mostly better now - just a few twinges here and there!

We still don't have an answer on MiLs cancer - we know it has only grown 1mm since the first CT scan it appeared on - but surgery still haven't decided whether it's best to operate or not. We're back up for the 3rd appointment to discuss it this Wednesday - so fingers crossed we'll have an answer soon!

Looking forward to the meet tomorrow! Grin

Davinaaddict · 29/07/2012 12:49

Hi Epic glad to hear you're all doing so well Smile And I bet it's lovely having a bit of time to yourself for once as well. Shame about the bed nest - sounds very similar to our Moses basket this time. I'm so glad it was second hand from DS, and we didn't buy another new one for Lauren. At least we managed a combined 6 months with both of them do it still looks pretty much brand new Smile. Are you thinking about having another baby at some point? It might come in more useful then, if so (sorry if you've already said not Blush). Good luck for the app on Wednesday - hope they make a decision. It's so horrid waiting around Sad

So I've done to the conclusion that either DH is reading this thread (he knows my nn), or he's a bit psychic!

EpicOde · 29/07/2012 13:14

And i'm alone again! Odie was so good for DP that we're risking a second trip out today! He's now off to get the train into town to buy some fancy pants ice cream to take with us to our friend's for dinner tonight! (We're supplying dessert so i'm off in a mo to bake brownies for the first time in months and months!) It'll be the furthest apart Odie and I have ever been! I came over all tearful when they left the house, but managed to hold it together and get a grip! they're only going to town after all and Odie is completely safe with his dad! I think it's just the distance - if he does get upset it will take a little while for me to get all the way into town or DP to get home so I can feed/comfort him.

Davina we're 99.9% certain that we're just having the one as with my health it was hard/risky enough having one! I've come out of it still healthy and with no lasting damage which is better than we'd dared to hope for - I don't know that I could face risking it all again now that I've got Odie to care for. So fingers crossed I get a good price on ebay/wherever I sell it!

Great that your DH has stepped up and given you a break today - it's so nice when you don't have to ask(/tell) your partner to do it! Feels much nicer and more decadent! Grin My DP knows my nn and quite often I leave the thread open on my ipad but I don't think he's reading it - to be honest, I blather on about it enough without him reading it! Wink

Right - off to bake! Oh the fun!! Grin

EpicOde · 29/07/2012 13:18

oh - and mckayz in agreement with the others that your HV is nuts! Mine is well meaning but a bit dim/batty! She tried to tell me that they recommend spoon feeding some food to your BLW child as otherwise they tend to lose weight when you start weaning Confused. I explained that as I will still be breastfeeding just as much and that for the first 6 months it's really more about developing a liking of different tastes/textures, rather than nourishment, that I shan't be spoon feeding to "top up". I may spoon feed some yoghurt so he can try that more easily, I haven't decided yet (or possibly just clad the entire living room in plastic and leave odie to it, who knows!)! I am planning on getting "the" book and seeing what they say before making my mind up fully. I expect I shall just do what I do with everything else; whatever feels right for me and Odie! Grin

Davinaaddict · 29/07/2012 13:56

How brave Epic! Enjoy the baking Grin

I always do the smile and nod, then completely ignore approach - much less hassle Grin

I've just ordered the shred - should be here before next week. Tight northerner went for the Super Saver Free Delivery option Grin It's not that I'm dragging it out as long as I can, oh no Wink

AnchorBun · 29/07/2012 16:24

How fantastic is your DP! Hope you all have a lovely day.

Davina bravo to your DH! Grin and incase he's cunning Wink

My DP is being great today to. He's taken both of the DC to visit his dad. I was ridiculously tired this morning, I couldn't remember whether I'd changed/fed/ever met Lilly! So I crawled back into bed at 12 after a failed attempt to eat breakfast and have only just woken up! I appear to be stuck to the bed too.

I had a dream about being in a computer game, killing 8 foot crocodiles in my old primary school. There was a glitch and one of the crocs changed into DP but he was still crawling around like one and as he passed me he said "hello!" really jovially Confused Grin

Ah I hear DS's dulcet tones

OP posts:
McKayz · 29/07/2012 17:55

Rosalie likes the sling I think. She slept all the way on our walk.

I've just ordered the shred DVD and some weights. If I die in blaming Fools Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 29/07/2012 18:37

Wow, it's been busy on here today! That's some weight epic 98th centile! Fyfe was 16lbs at 18 weeks so they're probably about the same weight now?! I'm getting him weighed this week (22 weeks) we shall see!
Looking forward to seeing lots of you tomorrow! Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 29/07/2012 18:43

Oh and epic, can we talk BLW tomorrow? I'm going to bring my book to read on the train, not sure what 'the' book is...I am going to try giving Fyfe loaded spoons to feed himself with for yoghurt.
