Aw tock a new baby and a wedding next year sounds just lovely, congratulations to you, MrTock and the little BeanTocks!

Well, lovely house has been sold (and not to us!), house we saw today was nice downstairs but a bit poky upstairs but possibly had potential, lets hope I can make it to tomorrows house! I think another day sat on the sofa with my legs crossed.....I do have a mw appt at lunchtime though but thats my only movement for the day Grin

I wish this baby would stop giving me the pointy poky sharp pains in the fanjo. Its been doing this on and off for a few weeks and buggering hell it makes you wince when it happens! Its like she's trying to jimmy her way out with a screwdriver! I cannot for the life of me work out exactly what she is doing but I at least know its normal as someone on the pregnancy board started a thread about the same thing the other day. No other twinges to report.

fluffy and cakes 3rd tri starts at 27 or 28 weeks I think? It should say in your notes somewhere. I can't believe you are both so far along already! How far are loopy and smegs?

ScrambledSmegs · 27/06/2012 23:25

Hi ninja - I think I'm 19/20 weeks. 19 by my count, 20 by docs they're wrong. 20 week scan on monday, eep! I'm really nervous, but less so since baby has decided to start poking me in the pelvis on a regular basis!

Can't wait, we're telling DD when we know everything's well. I want to buy DD a little book that we can read together that explains what's happening, she loves books. Still haven't decided what we're going to do about finding out the sex, it's really difficult to decide Confused.

Help!

Ninja I had the stabby fanjo pains as well, if that's any consolation. You're soooooo close to the end now though, and that is one of the symptoms that definitely will vanish immediately after the birth!

Sorry to hear about the lovely house Sad That could only have happened because it wasn't the house you were destined to have. Your perfect house will reveal itself shortly!

Hooray for those entering the third tri! V exciting!!! Also Smegs getting a book for your DD is such a sweet idea. Awwww just so cute!

Biscuitsandtea · 28/06/2012 02:36

Smegs I rather liked this book called There's A House Inside My Mummy to explain it all to DS1. Brooking for an awesome scan for you Smile

Boo for the house being sold Ninja Sad. When we were moving I used to tell myself these things always happened for a reason and maybe there was a better house just around the corner. Maybe this was just something to make me feel better and not true at all. It sometimes these things just aren't meant to be. Good luck with the next viewing - brooking that MiniNinja stays put for a wee while longer before making a dignified, speedy and painfree exit Smile. xx

jaggythistle · 28/06/2012 06:44

yay for scan soon generic :)

brooking lots for your perfectly timed sneeze birth ninja.

smegs hope your scan is good!

we had the book biscuits linked to and i got asked to read 'house inside mummy' every night for weeks to DS1.

he also really loved 'Topsy and Tim and the new baby' which is good as it shows what the new baby does, feeding, changing, crying etc. whenever he heard a baby cry after reading it he'd tell me it was because they wanted milk. :) he now tells me either to hite DS2 milk or put him in the sling to stop him crying. Grin

it was fairly cheap on amazon too.

jaggythistle · 28/06/2012 06:46

*give DS2 milk

no idea what hite is?

GreenOlives · 28/06/2012 08:13

Just popping in quickly to say congrats on great scan to tock! Meant to do it earlier but have been busy busy at work. Am hoping to join you ladies more permanently once Ive seen a heartbeat on a scan. Im having another one tom but at only 5+6 it is still touch & go whether we will see one yet. Fingers crossed!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 28/06/2012 08:37

Booo ninja :( Keep those legs crossed, I'm brooking this house is much naicer anyway :)

I can't see anything in my notes but most websites I've seen say 3rd tri is "week 27" on... Am 25+5 today (so in week 26), so tri 3 starts Sat for me in theory :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 28/06/2012 08:39

Ofc week 28 would make more sense coz then I'd be exactly 6 months pg............ Confused

Hi Olives! Good luck tomorrow :)

Loopyhasanotherbean · 28/06/2012 09:10

i'm now 29+2, so on the home stretch, and it really wouldn't surprise me if this one comes early like DS1 did, so might be knocking at least a week off that waiting time!

Good news re scan tock

Bugger re the house ninja. Have you tried other sites other than rightmove? not all agents use it, something i didn't realise until recently.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 28/06/2012 09:22

:o loopy
Ours is not allowed to come early, s/he's under strict instructions - we have too many September birthdays in our family as it is :o

Stacks · 28/06/2012 10:55

Morning. Just a quick post before the work really begins. Although lots of people are off today, including my boss, so it might turn out to be a quiet/MN day :)

I've got my 16 week appointment next Wed (I'll be 17w). I've decided I want DH there for it, a bit worried they won't find a heartbeat, and I don't want the possibility of going through that stress on my own. I find even though I'm not worrying all the time, I get these dreadful "what if" moments that then haunt me until all is proven to be ok. My 20 week scan isn't too far away either, on the 25th July. I really want this baby to start kicking so I know its there.

I didn't say thank you to fluff and smegs about the sewing pattern things. I would love a illegal copy, sorry. I find I sometimes read things and reply in my head, then forget I didn't actually reply in the real world.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 28/06/2012 11:02

stacks I'm still like that at almost 26 weeks - in fact I had an awful dream last night about bleeding and woke up quite panicky Blush so I think it's entirely normal from my scientific study of 2

Just thought I'd pop by and recommend this book. It's not out yet but I have a copy to review, and it's got some really lovely bits in it - it would make a great gift imho :)

NinjaChipmunk · 28/06/2012 11:43

Morning! stacks the mw at my 16 week appointment said in our area they don't listen to the heartbeat then as their equipment is not sophisticated as hospital equipment and also they don't want to panic anyone if they can't find it as baby is still very small/ wriggly/ hard to get in the right place. So don't panic if they don't!
My notes say 2nd tri is 14-27 weeks and 3rd tri is 28 week to birth fluffy
loopy I can't believe you're 29 weeks already, blimey! I tend to look on rightmove, findaproperty, zoopla and then check individual estate agents websites, if you know of any other good ones let me know!
MW appointment at 1.30, my mums going to come down for the day tomorrow to help me look after ds if nothing has happened by then. Should probably toddle off and have a shower really, loving the sunshine we're having!

Stacks · 28/06/2012 12:03

Fluff I looked around for a book like that when I first got pg. I didn't know if any of them were good though, as they all had both good and awful reviews. That one might be out a little late for me, being due in Dec? Though if it's actually published in early Sept it'd still give me 3 months.

Ninja if they didn't look for a heartbeat at all that would be fine. Though wouldn't give the reassurance I'd be looking for, it wouldn't make me worry more. The problem would be them looking for it and not being able to find it... I know it still wouldn't necessarily mean anything was wrong, but it would certainly fuel some mentalling!

Stacks · 28/06/2012 12:10

I was going to ask some questions about needing to pee too...

When I need to pee, I get a stomach ache, not a feeling of having to go. Not once this pregnancy have I had to cross my legs and struggle to hold a pee in, it's always just a really uncomfortable stomach pain. Has anyone else had this??

Also, I've not needed to go to the loo at all during the night, even though I drink fluid right up till bed time. Am I not drinking enough? I do wake up with a stomach ache as described above, and do pee lots, but I can also snooze in bed for half hour or so before getting up to pee.

I'm worried I'm not drinking enough, though I think I have about 1.5 - 2 litres of water/juice a day, and none of it is fizzy drinks or tea/coffee. It's either water, or watered down pure fruit juice.

I'm not sure if my MW will think I'm weird for mentioning it at my appointment. Everything I read says pregnant ladies need to pee all the time and all through the night. Is this really a 100% universal symptom? I might also ask on general pregnancy forum, though will people there laugh at me too?

NinjaChipmunk · 28/06/2012 12:25

I haven't really needed to pee a lot until just recently tbh. As long as your wee is fairly pale should be a good indicator to make sure you're not dehydrated (although diff vitamins can change wee colour quite significantly). Not sure about the stomach ache bit though?

whimsicalname · 28/06/2012 13:03

Hello everyone. Can anyone shed any light on why my house smells so horrid? Good job I'm not trying to sell it ninja. Any prospective buyers would think there was a dead rat somewhere

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 28/06/2012 13:44

I need to pee all the time :( I'd mention it to your MW just incase the pain is UTI-related? Though she should test for that I think.

Week 28 + ninja? Booo, that means I have to wait for my Tri 3 curry :o

ScrambledSmegs · 28/06/2012 14:34

Afternoon. The pattern arrived this morning, thanks so much fluff! will get DH to scan it so I can send it on to stacks ASAP.

On the subject of books, we were given this book when I announced my pregnancy with DD, and it was invaluable in keeping me sane. Admittedly it's not the most detailed book at times, but it covers everything you need to know, and has colour photographs and step-by-step instructions for important things. If you're a first-timer I would really recommend it. I found many of the other books just too detailed (and scary!), this one pitched it just right for me Smile

DD has her first bike! I spent so long researching balance bikes that it's 3 months late, but better late than never! Can't wait for her to wake up so we can go scooting around the park Grin

Re: peeing - I'm a constant wee-er to, I think you should definitely mention it to your midwife. Although every pregnancy is different so don't worry!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 28/06/2012 15:32

Wow that was quick smegs! :)

This DVD set is £4.99 til the 30th (after which time it won't be available, as they've run out of copyright or something) - I've ordered a copy...

cakes82 · 28/06/2012 16:19

Hi Stacks I get the ache feel instead of the more normal sensation of needing toilet although I get that too Confused I know I don't drink enough, never really have though. I vary on the needing toilet lots aspect I think it depends what i'm doing and how annoying it can possibly be eg very few toilets or having to get up at night = need it lots. Easy access/ not inconvenient = barely need it. When I had my 24wk appt with mw she said by colour it looked very good and I must be well hydrated despite me saying I knew I didn't drink enough. I didn't tell her that I hadn't managed sample at home and had had to have a drink on way in order to do sample before appt oops lol

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 28/06/2012 16:35

Whims that's just what I'm like - I'm up twice every night to drink a pint of water and wee Blush I think I'm drinking about 3+ litres daily Shock

Stacks · 28/06/2012 17:44

I'm making a real concious effort to drink more. My usual intake could be as little as, err, nothing (though I must get liquid from food!). I'd probably average about a pint of juice a day pre-pregnancy, generally less as DH finds I always have a convenient drink to steal when he's finished his own.

So far today I've had 5 pints of drink, and peed 5 times - once each time I go up to the kitchen to get a new drink.

I have a large bladder I think, because as a child we did a lot of travelling in cars with no toilet breaks. An 11 hour car trip with one stop? Easy. I even did that in June driving down to Wales, stopped once after 5 hours driving, had a pee, food and drink, then did 5 hours more driving without "needing" a pee at all. Maybe I'm just superhuman/an alien.
