Oh on that topic I now get total strangers asking if I'm going to 'try again for a girl' since we have two boys Hmm

Perhaps I should say 'Yes of course, and if we should unfortunately get another boy I'm going to try and swap him on Gumtree' Hmm

Honestly, children aren't like football stickers. I'm not trying to collect a set Confused

jaggythistle · 08/06/2012 20:23

biscuits you make me Grin. gumtree and football stickers especially tickled me!

DreamingOfPeace · 08/06/2012 21:23

biscuits, I get 'oh well, at least you're done now' like you'd never consider another pregnancy after twins and a toddler ha, how true . I'd quite like another with a bigger age gap. A friend put on fb she's pg with her third today and i got the pangs for another already!!! No chance though, dh desperate for s vasectomy now. He says 3 under 2 is too much work already and there's years of hard work ahead and we agreed three when discussing our family size sadly all true

ScrambledSmegs · 09/06/2012 00:24

I actually do know of a couple who had 5 girls, then one boy. It may be a coincidence but it really looks like they 'kept going' till they had a boy. Shame as the girls are all pretty awesome (one is even a leading sportswoman in her field) and yet everyone assumes the boy is the one they really wanted Sad. I'm sure that's not really the case though.

And yes, if you're wondering, looks like another long night with DD. Thank goodness for MN Smile

Thank goodness for MN as well Smegs- settling in for a long night here too..

On the subject of people presuming things re gender, I've found that nearly everyone has been asking me if we'll be having any more! I want to say to them 'Let me enjoy my daughter for a bit first!'.

Biscuitsandtea · 09/06/2012 08:11

Well naturally Musical - you'll be need to try for a boy won't you? Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 09/06/2012 08:12

needing, not need

Biscuitsandtea · 09/06/2012 09:07

Quick one for you ladies in the know. I've been eyeing up a Pacapod rucksack changing bag.

Where on earth can I buy it cheaper? Can only find it for the RRP of £80 . Happy to get one second hand except there aren't any on eBay, Gumtree or netmums local.

Thank you

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 09/06/2012 10:07

:o :o biscuits!

What would your stock response be to a stranger groping your bump in the supermarket etc? I really do live in terror of this I am all about personal space Shock

I'm getting stabby pains in the fanjo today, I'm not impressed and worried, of course, because I'm a worrier

musicalmrs · 09/06/2012 11:45

Naturally Biscuits!

Fluffy, I lived in fear of something similar, but was very lucky that nothing of that ilk ever happened to me!

I had a lot of stabby fanjo moments :( Worrying, but they never amounted to anything serious..

clickingtock · 09/06/2012 12:33

Oh Fluff - stabby fanjo antics sounds a tad unsettling. Probably just a muscle or two stretching though. I also have a terrible confession to make - I groped two friends' bumps recently without thinking. I have no idea why. Blush

As ever I am symptomless apart from being v grumpy as I had a poor night's sleep for no reason whatsoever.

LOL at Smegs and the waiter. You cruel woman. I think he was a brave man to even mention your pg despite the obvious being apparent... I don't think he ever will again to anyone else, bless him.

Also LOL at Dream's MIL. They do get a bit batty don't they? Twins seems to bring out the silliest comments. Friend who has boy/girl twins has been asked if they are identical. Durr.

Midwives visited (at home!!!! not my experience with DS) yesterday for proper booking in. One is a student so will be there all way through. They assured me that they will do everything in their power to give me my homebirth on the NHS, and said I was lucky I wasn't going to birth during the Olympics - they don't even have special passes to park their cars. Shock There are restrictions all over this area of London (especially round our hospital) as we have the shooting and the horses nearby... They were v excited about acupuncture, hypnobirthing and water births and the prospect that their 1.9% HB statistic might be boosted by an old hand like the Tock. I have no idea how DS will manage with it all, and how I'll feel having 3 midwives attending but hopefully I'll have popped before they all turn up and annoy me. Grin Of course, all a bit previous and highly academic given I am only 10wks. Blush And I can't discount a trip to the hospital, I do realise, but I shall put this thought to the back of my mind as much as possible.

Sorry, far too memememe post. Hi to all, btw, sorry not to name everyone. How are the new mums getting on?!

xxx

Babies up hourly all night. Again. Plus 90 min crying from one twin. Plus earlier start than usual from DD. I am tired, seriously tired...

All I ever get asked is if the twins are identical. People seem disappointed they're not. Makes me :( * disclaimer: I am very tired and hormonal

tock, rejoice in your symptomless time . HB. Impressed! I am crap at giving birth though and loved my elcs :)

far, I had pain so bad I was scanned to check babies and my kidney on that side at 16 weeks. Pg is just designed to scare the sh*t out of you if you're a worrier. Did me anyway, both times!

ScrambledSmegs · 09/06/2012 13:53

Oh Dream that sounds so exhausting Sad. Is your DP or family around today to take everyone for a walk so you can get some rest? It will get better, I promise it won't always be like this.

fluff I never had a stranger grope in the supermarket or similar, although a lovely lady did stop and exclaim 'goodness, you don't look pregnant from behind!' Hmm Grin. I think it's very rare to have your bump prodded by randoms - although maybe I give off 'fuck off' vibes, who knows?!

tock I did feel slightly guilty about the waiter, but in my defence he was absolutely appalling and had seriously hacked off our table with his inability to accomplish basic tasks (like give us menus before trying to take our order!), his slowness and his rude attitude. I was amazed my little joke made him suddenly re-discover his waitering skills, although glad it did Grin.

I've developed a stinking cold Sad. I did think I'd catch something as I'm very run down with lack of sleep. Feel like I have knives in my throat, so on a liquid diet. I dont know what's up with DD, she's normally an excellent sleeper. Maybe it's the potty training? I hope whatever it is, she gets through it soon!

OP posts:
DreamingOfPeace · 09/06/2012 14:51

What?! Potty training can knock sleep off?! . After 6 months of Sleep Hell here though smegs, that is resolving/ has resolved very, very quickly on the babies' birth I think young toddlers really do know something is up but can't really understand what. After me wailing on here about taking 3 hours plus to get DD to bed, and frequent getting up from, for example, midnight til 5am, it pretty much stopped within two days of being home with the dts. Not perfect but a million miles better. Maybe she knows Something Is Up?!

DreamingOfPeace · 09/06/2012 14:52

And boo to your cold!

ScrambledSmegs · 09/06/2012 15:36

Oh, I hope not! That would mean months of hell! I just assumed it might be the 'stress' of potty training as the sleep issues came along at the same time.

I hope your dts give you some peace today.

Forgot to say, well done tock on the mw visit / planned homebirth. Your midwives sound lovely Smile

OP posts:
FluffyJawsOfDoom · 09/06/2012 17:37

tock it's totally allowed if it's friends!! Home birth sounds lovely - did you have a hb last time? Your mw round lovely too - crazy about the parking though. I've seen 3 different mws Hmm a different one every time.

Hope you feel better soon smegs :)

Pain still coming and going but no worse so probably just stretchy pain? Will keep an eye on it.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 09/06/2012 17:39

You know you're pregnant when you find yourself welling up over a hovis advert... Blush Shock

NinjaChipmunk · 09/06/2012 19:09

fluff there is an advert that uses 'our house' by crosby stills and nash and that song gets me blubbing every time. If you think you are hormonal now just wait till the bean comes out. I remember me and dp watched a kids film (bridge to terabithia or something) about 6 months after ds was born and even he was crying by the end of it! My hormones have never fully recovered from giving birth.
I think stabby fanjo pains are quite common. If in doubt call mw or start a thread in a busy part of MN asking about it.
tock awesome news re the homebirth but not don't get me started on the olympics. Thankfully all we get is a bit of cycling round here I think. Glad I don't work up in town any more.
also I have fallen in love with a house which we've not even viewed but looks lovely on pictures but is just out of our price range. I wonder if we could get the inlaws to chip in a bit as there would be enough room for them to stay when they come down (until now they have had to stay in hotels every time).
Sigh...I think we'll be ready to go on the market just as the baby arrives. I wonder how manageable that would be........

whimsicalname · 09/06/2012 19:36

Hello everyone. I'm back from a very soggy tour of the UK. Anything exciting happened?

Stacks · 09/06/2012 22:26

Quick pay to say hi. Just back from a wet and windy camping holiday. Will catch up in the next couple of days. Hope everyone is well.

ScrambledSmegs · 09/06/2012 22:30

Hi whims & stacks, welcome back!

whims, in my case sweet f.a. has happened. However, there have been some lovely scans and everyone seems well. I am driving myself crazy wondering if what I'm feeling is the baby moving, or just really bad wind Confused Can't wait until it's unequivocal!

How are you both?

OP posts:
ScrambledSmegs · 10/06/2012 12:31

It's my birthday. DD had an ear infection and kept us up most of the night. Today is going to be a bit crap as we're so tired. Don't know why I bother getting excited about it every year Sad.
