Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Early niggles of SPD here unfortunately.

Starting Mat Leave at 29 weeks, with 6 weeks leave prior to that, so finish two weeks Friday thank f**k. Work is extremely stressful, and I would rather finish early and have a healthy baby than risk losing it by pushing on.

FatimaLovesBread · 11/06/2012 22:02

I think I have PGP, midwife at 11 weeks said it sounded like sciatica or SPD but it may just be from the higher hormone levels in the first trimester. I was told to let the midwife know if it persisted.
Told the midwife at 16wk appt on friday that I was still having problems and she's given me some birth ball exercises and said to tell them at 20 weeks if I'm still having problems and they'll refer me.

Some days it's ok but some days it's too painful to sit.
My pain is in my sacrum, sacroiliac joints and radiates to my left hip and buttock. I broke my coccyx 9 years ago so I don't know if that is having an influence too.

Bluetinkerbell · 11/06/2012 22:26

Too tired for namechecking... sorry!

Just wanted to let you know how my mw appointment went today :)

Everything fine, my bloodtest results came back great! Apparently I have one of the highest iron levels the mw had seen in a long time, which is super as I am vegetarian and was slightly worried about it, doesn't explain why I still feel so tired though :(
She also commented that my combined Down Syndrome results were great 1 in 100 000! :)
Blood pressure was slightly low and did have protein in my urine, which could be start of urine infection so need to keep an eye on that.
MW did look for the heartbeat and found it, even though little one was trying to play hide and seek Wink
On to tomorrow... scan with the consultant Grin

mrswee · 11/06/2012 22:41

SPD here too. Not bad just now but I had it last time so know the signs creeping in. Was sore after doing a spot of hoovering today.
Supposed to be going camping in 2 weeks ... really can't face the pain of not sleeping in a bed!

kirrinIsland · 11/06/2012 22:42

Snap detective !

Glad your appointment went well blue - will you be finding out if you are team pink or blue tomorrow as well?

I was thinking of pregnancy yoga lane but the potential for chanting puts me off! I might try swimming instead.

Bluetinkerbell · 11/06/2012 22:43

kirrin I hope the consultant might be able to spot something yes Wink

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/06/2012 07:08

bluetinkerbell glad your app went well :)

I keep freaking myself out with this low hormone thing :( I've got my scan 2 weeks on fri and they're doing a Doppler study of the blood flow to the placenta. I think if that all looks normal I don't need seeing again til the 28 week scan but of it flags up a problem then I'll be monitored more closely.

Lilliana · 12/06/2012 07:17

Morning everyone, sorry been reading through but not got much time to reply properly.

DH try not to worry, you can't change anything and the chances are everything is fine - easy to say I know. Hope your mind is put at ease in a couple of weeks.

Glad lots of scans / mw appointments are going well.

I now have back pain to add to my hip/leg pain - feel like an old woman and hope that it will ease off soon. Been trying to follow all the advice on here too. I have my 20 week scan in 3 weeks and mw app 2 or 3 weeks after that. Do I mention it at the scan or wait until I see the MW?

rowingdowntheriver · 12/06/2012 07:18

So sorry to hear about your neice chunky. My sister had terrible asthma as a child and was hospitalised several times. It was very scary. It might be reassuring to know that as she grew up her asthma has become far more manageable and now she doesn't even need to take he medication very day and barely, if ever, has an attack. I think it is quite common for asthma to improve with age.

I had a shitfest of a day yesterday. No individual thing was too terrible but the cumulative effect was not good. I won't go into details as not especially interesting but the day finished off with my consultants appointment being 2 1/2 hours late so having to try to keep my grizzly 15 month old occupied in a hospital corridor, getting dreadful backache, the cat vomitting and then DS not sleeping because of a cold he developed yesterday. Am hoping for a better day today! Grin

rowingdowntheriver · 12/06/2012 07:22

Cross posted - liliana, my consultant noticed I was struggling with my back and she told me to get myself a gp appt and get referred to a physio sooner rather than later. She said if I am struggling now it will only get worse as the pregnancy progresses. I guess the same applies to you.

dh hope everything is ok. As Liliana said, try not to worry although this is far easier said than done.

Iheartpasties · 12/06/2012 07:54

I had my scan today. It was amazing :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/06/2012 08:18

pasties yay glad it went well!

SwissArmyWife · 12/06/2012 08:22

I feel for those of you with SPD, as I am pretty sure I have it too.
Last night was horrendous, took me forever to fall asleep as my hips hurt so much, combined with the horrible heartburn I knew would come along eventually, and my wisdom tooth coming through I felt like sobbing!
Then DD woke at around 1am and was wide awake for ages, and I could barely walk across the hallway to her because of the pain in my hips/lower back/legs :(

Seeing midwife tomorrow so going to have a moan!

rowing I'm hoping you have a better day today too!

Iheartpasties Glad your scan was amazing!

Tinkerbell Good luck with your scan today :)

applepieinthesky · 12/06/2012 08:47

Passmethecrisps I will be travelling to London at 6 months pregnant for the Olympics. We've got tickets for the gymnastics finals and I'm really looking forward to it but obviously not the travelling. We are thinking of prebooking parking and driving all the way. I can't face standing on the train all the way and pushing crowds on the tube.

Iheartpasties · 12/06/2012 09:02

The Scan was ace. It was pretty clear, we had some 3d at the end, that was not as clear, maybe because I'm fat?! Dunno. I'm very excited now, and can't believe thats it now until the baby is born! I wont get to see it again!! yikes.

I was pretty excited because when we were queuing to get a token to let us out of the car park in walked the trainer from The Biggest Loser (Australia), yey, he is pretty lush :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/06/2012 09:06

Omg Ive just measured round my bump and its the same size now as it was at 24 weeks last time! Thats 7 weeks difference, Im going to be huuuge!

Listened to the heart again because I was panicking I couldnt feel movement but I could hear her kicking away!

Can we do a quick poll? Can people just say how many weeks they are and if they are feeling movement yet? Just to ease my paranoia Wink
17 weeks and not feeling movement.

ShellyBobbs · 12/06/2012 09:15

DH - I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and have felt movement for a few weeks, but it's my 4th and I have no stomach muscles (Bump Beard of flab). They are still only slight kicks but have also felt 'rolling'. Can see how you wouldn't feel it if you had a firm stomach though so I honestly wouldn't worry.

Back ache today already, but very happy to report a full night of blissful sleep, that will be it for the week though :(

Evilwater · 12/06/2012 09:18

Apple and passme, I'll see you there! We also got tickets! I'm very excited, something to tell our son. My DP thinks in mad cause I'll be very round.
We will be driving from Devon to london, then I think taking the tube.

For the bad news, my DP thinks he might have worms, FFS. Also he keeps going on about how driving 3 hours to see my mates is crazy cause I'm pregnant.

daisychain76 · 12/06/2012 09:39

DH I'm 18 + 2 and feeling movement tho it is a bit hit and miss how much, but it is DC3 and, like Shelly said, I have no stomach muscles. I think the fact I'm sat down at a desk reading/writing most of the day, not running around after a toddler or anything, makes it a lot easier to notice too.

Jealous of people going to the Olympics. We didn't get any tickets for London, but going to the football quarter finals in Manchester (the one DH wanted and I didn't!)

Wearing a new maternity dress from New Look today and it is just sooo comfortable and cool. Never even shop there when not pregnant, but think it will be my shop of choice for maternity clothes from now on.

blonderthanred · 12/06/2012 09:42

I am 19 weeks (today! hurrah!) and started feeling slight movement at 16-17 weeks, more definite in the last week or so.

It's my first but I don't have very strong stomach muscles (to put it politely).

applepieinthesky · 12/06/2012 10:07

What sport are you going to see EW?

We entered the original ballot and got tickets for the mens football semi final at Wembley and gymnastics finals at the O2. Only problem is they are on the same day! Can't really complain though because I know loads of people that applied and didn't get anything at all.

17+4 today and no movement yet. It's my first though and I did have a reasonably flat stomach until a few weeks ago.

Bluetinkerbell · 12/06/2012 10:07

I'm 17+2 today and been feeling niggles since about 12 weeks, only been feeling definite kicks since the weekend. It is DC3 and haven't got a lot of bump yet either...

Received my Count the Kicks Kick Counter in the post today :)

Evilwater · 12/06/2012 10:13

applepieinthesky · 12/06/2012 10:15

I've got tickets for the football at Wembley on the 7th. Is that the one you're going to?

Evilwater · 12/06/2012 10:19

No, it's at the end of the week, but you never know.
