Hi everyone.

well DH cooked me a healthy meal last night of salmon, salad and mushrooms stuffed with feta - lets just say it didn't go down well, the thught of it now makes me want to heave. I can still smell fish in the house and my stomach is churning.
Looks like it's back to chips and beans then....!

HK i think that is a real shame that it is frowned upon to take your lo in to the scan with you, i think it should involve the whole family. Plus you don't want them feeling left out. When I went for mine there were people there with their mothers as well!
Coriander we took Ds - he is 14 months. e didn't have a clue what was going on, but enjoyed it all the same!

puppy · 24/02/2006 10:21

I don't think its on them frowning upon taking your lo into the scan, I would do it anyway if I were you if you want them there, say you couldn't get a baby sitter or something.

It was snowing here earlier also but didn't stay for long.

Mabel the only fish I can stomach at the mo is cod or haddock, ewwww to the rest lol.

My maternity jeans arrived today and just tried them on, well I don't want to take them off they are sooooo comfy, they have a rib panel with side adjusters and look so nice on. Think I will keep them on for the day .

not had bad morning sickness for a few days now so hopefully its coming to the end of it, still feel nauseous and have that horrible undescribable taste in my mouth along with the tiredness. 10 weeks today!!!

What have you all got planned for the weekend?

Angeliz · 24/02/2006 10:24

HellKat to be honest i haven't asked them i'm just taking her.
I'll go either way if they rfuse, either stroppy or poor little teary pregnant woman! Hope they don't make a fuss though as dd is really excited about coming

Can't stop eating here still. None of my clothes fit, i'm doing the hairband trick with my jeans+

Angeliz · 24/02/2006 10:26

Dd1 is 5 tomorrow so we're having a party at a Wacky type place. DD2's Birthday was Wednesday, big1

here she is on her pressie, Ride on!

Bella23 · 24/02/2006 10:32

Totally with you on the stomach churning fish.......although fish and chips would be a different matter!

ye ha .....11 weeks today, snap Hellkat!

Well not a lot else to report really apart from getting really bored of sleeping so badly and needing the loo on average about 4 times in the night.

Hi! New to MN and first time pregnancy.
12+2 and just had to get first pair of maternity trousers - given in finally
does any one have any tips on relaxing or de-stressing?
also I had my dating scan really early (9 weeks) and not due for another scan till 20 wk - can I ask for another one to make sure all is ok do you think?
Puppy where did you get your maternity jeans???

mabel1973 · 24/02/2006 14:07

welcome back norms - glad to hear you're feeling better (ish)
congratulations lysettes - what is your due date - you must be around the same time as me?
Well we've mamanged to build a snowman this morning - v. impressive!
I am feeling wiped out today I haven't had tiredness like this for a couple of weeks, I am sure it is the salmon - it just pushed me over the edge. and I can still smell it in the house

Lysettes - ooh nice to hear you are over the 12 week mark.
Yes agree 9 weeks is early for a scan and then poor you for having to wait for another one at 20 weeks. If you ask is there a chance they might give you another one sooner. I would probably ask.

Can I ask how big your tummy is? I am worried mine is just fat (from all the cakes / chocolates I have been eating)
Is yours definately sticking out?
Its difficult for me to tell as it wasn't exactly washboard before!!

HellKat · 24/02/2006 14:45

Norms- Good to see you back! Hope you're feeling better and the sickness eases for you.

At my last scan when i asked if dp could come in, they took ds1 into the room next door for a nurse to look after him. they won't budge on letting kids in at all. Bloody shame I think.
Welcome Lys. I'm the same. Had my dating scan at 9 wks and now have to wait until 20 wks. But I'm meant to go the hosp next Friday for a heartbeat check and might as for a sneaky scan
My tummy's huge! Unless I suck in there's definitely a pg bump

compo · 24/02/2006 14:49

Bella - I sound the ame as you, I hadn't lost all my weight after ds but I look about 4 months pregnant already!! Still feel quite nauseous. Welcome Lysettes {smile]
We don't have anyone to look after ds and it never occurred to me they might not let him in We can't exactly just leave him on his own in the waiting room!!

Bella23 · 24/02/2006 14:51

Thanks ladies, good to hear its not just cake then!!

benjaminsmum · 24/02/2006 15:50

Hi
Welcome Lys. Relax, what is that? lol.

Bella - if I lie down it is not there if I stand up it is huge! Although I am sure it is down to no excercise for a few weeks and eating every five minutes to stop feelin sick.

I have started back at my exercise class this week as I have stopped feeling so tired and dizzy. It was great.

Still feeling sick though.

Norms - glad you are feeling better I hope you enjoyed the rest. Home - I hope you are also okay.

I can't believe you arn't aloud to take ds/dd's to the scan. To be honest it never acourred to me to ask we have just taken him. After all who else is supposed to look after him at 8am when they hold there early scan sessions!

mabel1973 · 25/02/2006 08:21

morning everyone!

Hope you're all ok?
I had to get up in the night and take paracetomol for a cracking headache - not sure what that was about, but felt rough all day yesterday, but feel ok this morning.
What's everyone up to this w/e? DH was supposed to be taking me out to the cinema and nando's early evening, but has just realised it clashes with the rugby! So we'll maybe do it tommorow if we can pursuade MIL to babysit (I am sure she will make an issue out of it, but will do it anyway). DH did make me breakfast in bed so can't complain and has now taken DS to B&Q to buy me a abig plastic bin, for my cloth nappies - which I am starting today!! Yikes I must be crazy, it is partly financial and partly because I feel guilty everytime I put another dispoable in the bin. I'll let you know how we get on. (I could be back on the pampers by monday!)
phew - that was a long one!
p.s. I also have a bump now - there is no denying it!

HellKat · 25/02/2006 08:40

Morning all.
Mabel- Only reason I've had a headache recently is from blocked sinuses (last remainder of that icky bug). Hope it eases for you. Your dh sounds like a sweety!!! Ohhh we used to have a Nandos near us mmmmmmmmmm. You made me hungry now lol.

It seems like it's flying by but at the same time feels like I've been pg for ages.

Not up to much this weekend (but it's gorgeous and sunny). Sgould muster up the energy and give the house a blitz but still knackered. Can't wait until that goes (it is easing a bit though).

LexyB · 25/02/2006 13:10

Hi everyone. Been lurking for several weeks but not felt brave enough to join in till now as has 2 m/c last year. 12 weeks yesterday and also had my nuchal uss which was fine so decided to take the plunge. So good to see the baby on the scan - its been so worrying these last few weeks. Have let myself believe its happening and allowed myself to wear maternity jeans today. So comfy.

Still v tired and sick ( taking medication since 5 weeks ) but its getting better. can't wait till feel the beanie moving now. Its baby no 5 for me but still just as exciting.

Will add stats to list.

mabel1973 · 25/02/2006 14:31

Hi LexyB - congratulations
wow baby no.5 - you are a pro!

HellKat · 25/02/2006 14:43

Congrats Lexy.
Echoing Mabel, wow at 5 kids!!!!!. I thought I was a dab hand at this (no.3) but know where I'll be coming to for advice
Well done on getting to 12 wks too

calvemjoe · 25/02/2006 17:01

Welcome LexyB and Lysettes!

Norms, Was just thinking about you and homemama this morning. Glad you've had a bit of a break from it all and I hope that the results last a while. Getting a bit worried about home, do you really think she could still be in hospital bless her?

to all of you planning a nice weekend. After a week with a sick toddler I'm back in the hell hole that is work for the weekend!

kreamkrackers · 25/02/2006 17:09

compo · 25/02/2006 18:33

congrats LexieB

Angeliz · 25/02/2006 22:08

just to apologise for not keeping up with this thread really
I will i know when it becomes a bit more real but at the minute, i haven't had a minute to think. DD1 was off all last week for half term and we had lots going on. This week we've had both Birthdays, i now am the proud owner of a 1 year old and a 5 year old
I am sure i can feel the baby move now, it's been like palptations reaaly low and feeling odd, and then last night i turned over suddenly and it was like someone just touched my stomavhe and i thought '?' 'Oh the baby!'
I felt dd2 incredible early, there's a thread somewhere about it but earlier than this i beleive. Can't beleive i'm 13 weeks already and all the Mums at School are now discovering it. It funny actually, it's like becay=use it's my third and dd2 is only just a year, people seem afarid to say Congratulations until i say, ' it WAS planned*' Very strange, it seems 3 now seems a bit odd as most Mums there have 1 or 2 with no intentions of more. That's FINE of course, just don't like the look of suprise at 3.
LexyB, Congratulations
Do you find people like this then with number 5? I'd do 5 i think

Angeliz · 25/02/2006 22:09

BTW Copmo, i've had a glass of red tonight, only second drink since i found out but really fancied one tonight while watching Dancing on ice and i belive i've earned it after a Party for 22 kids.

HellKat · 26/02/2006 09:22

Morning all.
Angeliz- Wow 13 wks!!!!! I posted the other day about feeling movement. I too felt both my boys pretty early. And yes we get the same looks when we say this baby was planned too. If you just have the one, you're constantly asked when are you having another (this happened for years with ds1 as he's older) but two kids seems to be the norm. Anything over that, they look shocked lol.

I'm totally off booze (really don't fancy it at all). Going to have to get hubby to finish off my mini Buds from crimbo (luckily don't go off til April). I am however, looking forward to a large voddie & coke when this is all over .
