oh bless you woodelf, hang in there, it will ease in the next few weeks x

mabel1973 · 22/02/2006 22:08

oh dear cupcakes what's your pup been up to?

woodelf - hope you feel better soon - I know what you mean though - although my nausea has worn off, I still can't face the thought of food shopping , certain things make my stomach turn. When DH makes DS a cheese omlette it makes me heave!

Well I've had a quiet night in on my ownsome DH has managed to get a free ticket to see 'goldie lookin chain' tonight, so spent a night with a pizza and kirsty and phil.....!

Morning all.
Sorry was'nt around yhesterday. Ds1 (13) was up since 2am yesterday with stomach pains. They did'nt improve so took him to the dr's and it's either suspected appendicitis or a stomach bug. So just playing the waiting game atm. he's brighter this morning though and seeing it snowing has perked him up .
I don't feel as pg now. Had alot of stabbing back pains all through the night and still there this morning, easing off slightly. Think it may be from all the walking yesterday (back & forth to the town & dr's).
How's everyone doing this morning?
x

Hi hellKat
hope your Ds is ok, it's a worry when you're just waiting around to see what it is.

I have been suffering with my back as well, I walk everywhere anyway, which is usually fine, I find it is walking round town shopping that does me in.
Has the doctor given you anything for your back? I am not sure whether to bother seeing the doctor, or just put up with it.

calvemjoe · 23/02/2006 09:12

Hellkat, bless him, I hope your ds gets better soon.

Mabel, I went to the drs with my back and got told, you're pregnant, deal with it. It wasn't until I explained about the car accident I had a few weeks ago that they even looked at it and even then it was just take paracetamol.

mabel1973 · 23/02/2006 09:58

calvemjoe - Can't believe that!!! How unhelpful (to put it politely!).

I had sciatica last time and had physio (for what it was worth) and was given cocodomol, but I was about 7 months before it had started.
The midwife mentioned acupuncture this time, but not sure if I would get that on the NHS. I can put up with it at the moment, but don't want it to get any worse.

Just trying to find a reasonable maternity bra - my boobs have got so big they will have their own postcode soon.
Any suggestions? (I bought M&S last time, but think their bra's are over priced)

Angeliz · 23/02/2006 10:08

Need to catch up on thsi threda but Carly and Radster, am so so sorry to hear your news

Bella23 · 23/02/2006 10:09

Morning ladies

Hellkat - oh dear hope your DS gets better soon, if he is feeling a bit brighter then hopefully it was just a stomach bug

Mabel - I have had no real nausea to speak of really but have totally gone off food I would normally love. Just wanting stodge all the time.

Well not a lot else to report, its freezing here, sleeting - what's all that about !!

HellKat · 23/02/2006 10:17

Thanks all.
Hopefully it is a stomach bug and not what i had years ago. My appendix "grumbled" for ages then finally split. But he's eating (enjoying another day off school).

It's the bottom of my spine that's killing. I'm going to mention it to my mw when I see her next. I've got to book up a physio appt for my spd so hopefully they can sort this too.

compo · 23/02/2006 11:40

Morning everyone. Not feeling too bad today luckily. I can sympathise with the omelette making someone heave - my dh made himself an egg sarnie yesterday and i had to leave the room!!

calvemjoe · 23/02/2006 13:35

Mabel, I know, his reaction really made me angry. He did also tell me to get my dh to rub my back for me but it makes pains shoot up and down my legs so I'm not really a big fan.
I used to see an osteopath for sinus probs and she's offered to do me for free if it gets much worse, but I can't afford £30 a session so its a freebie or nothing.

benjaminsmum · 23/02/2006 13:52

Hi
Had twelve week scan yesterday. All is well beanie was wiggling, heartbeat good, had two arms, two legs one head, one body all in all looked perfect just can't believe how small it still is. Took ds who is 25 mths. It was amazing he totally understood what he was seeing and beamed from ear to ear to see 'the baby in mummy's tummy on the telly'. He very proudly told his grandparents latter on. I could have cried. Now just waiting for the sickness to finish and the 'blooming' to happen, don't think it did last time!

I also don't really enjoy the pregnancy and birth bit but liked the first two months after birth even less last time and ended up with pnd, so trying to enjoy this pregnancy more and not panic about how I will cope with two!

compo · 23/02/2006 14:09

wow benjaminsmum, you must be so happy! Can't wait for mine. A week on Monday!! We'll be taking our ds with us too - he's 23 months so I think he'll just be excited at being somewhere different!!

Bella23 · 23/02/2006 14:10

Benjaminsmum - congrats
Compo - snap my scan is a week on Monday as well, can't wait!

mabel1973 · 23/02/2006 14:31

benjaminsmum - how lovely! It is such a relief and an amazing feeling to see them there on the screen wriggling around... v. emotional!

cupcakes · 23/02/2006 15:59

I'm taking dd to the scan (she's just 3) so we'll have to tell her on the way what it's all about. We haven't told ds yet (he's 5) as I want to make sure everything is fine at the scan first. He'll be at school anyhow. Have had to be really careful who we've chosen to tell as I really don't want it getting back to ds in the school playground. Hopefully all will be well but I just couldn't bear the thought of having to explain it to him if it wasn't.
I didn't have these worries last time as ds was still quite young but now he understands so much more.

TopBanana · 23/02/2006 17:37

Midwife told me yesterday you're only meant to drink 2 mugs of tea per day

calvemjoe · 23/02/2006 17:48

Benjaminsmum, I'm glad everything was ok at your scan. I'm a little bit as mine seems ages away but I'm really pleased for you.
Top, I know, only 2 mugs of tea! Luckily I've gone off it this time but it was a nightmare last time! x

mabel1973 · 23/02/2006 17:50

2 mugs of tea!!!!!!!!!! not sure if i can do that!
i drink de-caf but isn't it the tannin or something?

compo · 23/02/2006 19:04

I've been drinking about 2 or 3 cups of decaf coffee a day. Also one glass of wine a week (when i've felt like it, that is!!)

puppy · 23/02/2006 20:37

Hello

Hope norms and homemama are ok.

10 weeks today so a quarter of the way there, 2 weeks till my booking in appt, god knows when my dating scan will be. When I have the scan i'll be taking ds 4yrs with me can't wait .

Can you believe theres a due nov 06 thread already, we are no longer the newbies.

Coriander73 · 23/02/2006 20:39

Still feel v sick although havent been for a while...getting really fed up now. Have scan on Tuesday so maybe once I see all is OK I will start to feel brighter?!!!! My tummy has suddenly got bigger & quite obvious....but I refuse to give in to maternity clothes just yet...!!!!

Coriander73 · 23/02/2006 20:41

BTW...DD is only 17 months so we´ve decided to leave her at home on Tuesday. Don´t know whether it´s the right decision but do think she´s just that bit young....

I´ve also got a thing for vinegar...

HellKat · 24/02/2006 08:09

Morning all.
Bens- Congrats on the scan!
I'm so of the little one's that are allowed in the scanning room. They frown upon it at ours. I'd love little ds2 to be able to see and of course ds1.
Well still slightly snowing here, have a patchy white lawn too .
