Ds has the runs at the moment, was up at 5am washing poo off him in the bathroom sink. He is eating and drinking though, spoke to the HV and she said to let it run it's course, so we'll see how he is at the weekend. He is fine in himself but his skin is so sore

On a more positive note I am now 12 weeks - yipeee

HellKat · 21/02/2006 15:09

Mabel- there's so much of it about. Hope it clears up soon. Lol at the vision of you 2poo washing" in the early hours . Congrats on making 12 wks!
puupy- Nice jeans! Glad to hear the sickness is easing.

Woodelf · 21/02/2006 17:05

Hi all,

Compo - I will be a first time mum and so am naively v excited as each week passes in spite of the symptoms. Not feeling so sick now, but could be speaking too soon!!!

Carly, so sorry about your news - hang in there - it happened 3 times for me and it doesn't get any easier {{{hugs}}}}

Scan today 3.5cm and going strong. Feeling much reassured as had been scared due to severity of flu attack. Must be a tough little beanie .

Bella23 · 21/02/2006 17:17

Woodelf - I am a first timer and am definately very excited at each phase.
Just can't wait to get the first scan over with so I can see everything is ok then can relax and enjoy !!

Woodelf · 21/02/2006 17:22

Bella, it's so beautiful to see the scan - I get all emotional every time, and my dh who came with me today looked so happy too!

HellKat · 21/02/2006 17:28

Wood- Congrats!!! well done on the scan. I too know what mc's are like (4 previous) and totally agree it does'nt get any easier.

compo · 21/02/2006 18:14

I thought there must be some first timers on here somewhere!! Still being sick here unfortunately

kreamkrackers · 21/02/2006 18:17

i've got to order an indian meal tonight, just want a curry sauce and rice but can't get it out of my head! been wanting pasta and salads and now this! can't resist.

TopBanana · 21/02/2006 18:52

Hi everyone I?ve got a ?midwife booking appointment? at the hospital tomorrow. Didn?t have one last time. Any ideas what it entails?

kreamkrackers · 21/02/2006 18:59

no idea! my booking in appointment is thursday but that's at my local doctors. i'm going to have to explain all about dd and try not to cry at the time. dp's got the afternoon off to look after her.

ordered masala sauce and pillaw rice, yummy!

HellKat · 21/02/2006 19:01

kk- Sounds yum!!!!!!! I love curry!
Top- It takes about 30/40 mins. They do blood pressure, check your history, write down details. Sometimes they do a urine test too (my first one did'nt, second one did and last one did'nt). That's basically about it. It's the technical bit that takes the longest. depending on how far along you are aswell, they may feel your tum or try out the dopplar (alot don't because it's difficult to hear properly before 13/14 wks).
Hope that helps.
Off for a relaxing one all. Take it easy and have a great night. x

TopBanana · 21/02/2006 19:03

Ok thanks .

Got a midwife app in the morning too. Wish I could have a curry....

compo · 21/02/2006 20:05

Good luck with your appointment TopBanana. I had mine a week ago. They tell you what foods to avoid and to take folic acide which is pretty pointless when you're already about 10 weeks pregnant!!

calvemjoe · 21/02/2006 22:45

Ds's asthma is playing up, so no miracle cure, just have to ride it out bless him and up his meds. Feel so bad for him.
Woodelf, congrats on the scan.
Mabel, we're due the same day!

mabel1973 · 22/02/2006 09:48

Hi girls

hope everyones' ok
my maternity jeans arrived today - v. nice they are super low rise - a bit revealing when I bend over IYKWIM! , but much nicer than the 'over the bump' ones I had last time, they were truly hideous, by the time I was 8 months they just sagged round my time round.
Topbanana - just to warn you (in case you are in any way squeamish) you may have bloods taken at your booking in app. I didn't 1st time, but did this time round.
Feeling a bit lost at the moment, now my 1st scan is a couple of weeks ago, and my nausaea has subsided, I am going through a not feeling pregnant phase - does ane else feel like that?

mabel1973 · 22/02/2006 09:50

Oh dear - just read this through - makes no sense - Ds is messing about next to me and keeps clicking the mouse! Think we'd better go and do some playing!

mabel1973 · 22/02/2006 09:54

it was supposed to say that by the time I was 8 months they were sagging round my crotch as the 'over the bump ' bit didn't stay up.
Phew !

Bella23 · 22/02/2006 11:04

Mabel

Totally with you on going through moment of ?not feeling pregnant?

I had an early scan at 7 weeks and felt all reassured and great???.lasted about a week! If I had my way I would be scanned weekly!!

TopBanana · 22/02/2006 11:05

Thanks mabel, I hate needles but at least I'll be prepared now!!
I was feeling a bit lost, not really feeling pg just a bit fat. But just been to my antenatal app with the midwife and she found the heartbeat so feeling a bit better now!!

11 weeks today

cupcakes · 22/02/2006 16:34

Mabel - I know exactly what you mean about not feeling pregnant. In fact I almost didn't click on this thread because I feel so unpregnant I thought I'd have nothing to contribute!
Occasionally I remember and it's a bit of a surprise. I don't really look pregnant (just a bit porky) and the nausea has really eased off. I do feel very overemotional so I guess the hormomes are still going overload (see my thread on despair over new puppy ).
I have the first scan next Tuesday so I guess it will all start to seem more real then.
Also, because it is my third (and we have a new puppy) I have very little time to think about this pg - which is a bit sad. I want to indulge all the maternal stuff as this is probably going to be my last.

Woodelf · 22/02/2006 17:06

Hi all,

spoke too soon about hoping my sickness was easing! Just came home from work feeling v sick again - just cannot seem to ease it right now; but hey, I know it's worth it.....
Was meant to shop for food today - that is SO NOT HAPPENING!
