mabel Sad Next time just smile sweetly and say 'yes I am pregnant thanks for asking' and walk off! Grr at Woodelf only putting on 1lb. I've put on about half a stone already and needed to lose a stone before getting pregnant Sad Oh well!!

mabel1973 · 13/03/2006 22:03

goodness knows why but got very upset tonight.
I think the whole playgroup thing, plus I have had to book DS in for his MMR on thursday which I have kept putting off (feel like I am throwing him to the lions or something) plus hormones. Think I just needed a good cry to get it all out of my system!

Marls001 · 14/03/2006 00:09

Just lived through a tornado warning last night; one touched down 2 km away, destroyed houses and blew off roofs (found out this morning); picked up ds at 10:30 pm out of bed last night and hid along with dh in interior bathroom while softball sized hail rained down - We were lucky NO major damage to house. I was accustomed to hurricanes but that was my first tornado. They make a huge noise, like a train, when they're close by - quite frightening. The Wizard of Oz has new meaning now!! All is currently well.

Kreamkrackers, be glad you're not a natural C cup like me - think of all you can wear ... backless things, little spaghetti-strap numbers with built-in bras ... a world of clothing us big girls can't visit! Of course in late pg they're Double-D! Not good.

Homemama, my dh is the same, lucky me. I think it's hereditary - his Dad did the same. When we were dating he did my laundry; I took that as a good sign to continue w/relationship...

Mabel - I think each playgroup has at least one of those!! I'm with you - rude goes into the next generation for our own DSs to avoid!! Either don't go, or ignore - whatever will cause the least stress!

Today had the "quad screen" (new name, now they're testing for 4 things, I guess). Results back Wed! Puppy & all, since I'm new to thread - I'm due Sept. 7th.

homemama · 14/03/2006 08:19

Morning all!
Gosh, Marls, where are you?
Mabel, Shock How dare they! Some people are so rude! Angry Hope you're feeling better about it today. I'd be glad that people like that didn't bother speaking to me.

I need to apologise at not having the time or energy recently to read everyone's posts. Blush Please don't think me rude or offhand, it's just with the sickness and all. I promise as soon as I'm over the worse (assuming that happens before we all give birth) I'll become more involved. Sorry again.

mabel1973 · 14/03/2006 09:18

Marls - was thinking exactly the same thing as homemama - where do you live??! That must be scarey!
Don't have such excitement here in Robin Hood Country (just the outlaws are bit scarier these days!)

You are due the day before me :)

Bella23 · 14/03/2006 09:27

Morning ladies

Marls - Shock at Tornado warning - do tell where you live, very nosey now!

Well still getting up for a wee about 3 times a night - its so annoying! I wake up knackered due to such interuppted sleep, anyone else finding this?

Mabel - hope the witches comments are a distant memory now.

Well not a lot else to report really, another day at work ........blah........
Hope everyone else is well

puppy · 14/03/2006 09:44

Morning all Smile

Glad the scan went well homemama. There is no need to apologise we all know you are having a tough time with the hg, fingers crossed for you it eases soon.

Awww mabel I hope your not as upset this am, there are always women like that a playgroups thats why I never took DS to them instead I take him to soft play centres i.e charlie chalks, parks etc.

Crikey Marl Glad you and your family are ok.

Hope everybody else is feeling good.

HellKat · 14/03/2006 09:58

Morning all.
Marls- I take it you're in the States? Dual national here Grin. My dad's been having the warnings and his town had the flash flood, he's in Evansville, Illinois.
Mabel- I could'nt have kept quiet lol My hormones have me one feisty madam Wink.
How's everyone?

We had pretty funky hail early this morning, very brief but heavy Smile

compo · 14/03/2006 10:20

Morning everyone! Marls - sounds scary, glad you're all okay Smile Mabel - do you live in Nottingham then? That's where I come from but am now down South

Normsnockers · 14/03/2006 10:35

Have dug out and spruced up my size 16 maternity suit from last pregnancy to wear for work. Plenty of room so far but my bust is gonna be a real problem though ! My other maternity suit was too tatty so I've thrown it out. Will still need to get some comfy jeans soon as although I can fit into pre-pregnancy ones they are less than comfortable on the waistband when I bend over etc and presuure on the stomach induces vomiting. I am looking forward to elasticated front/side panels again.

Have lost 10 pounds since falling pregnant but most of that was in the first 6/7 weeks.

Bet homemama can beat us all in the weight stakes, I dread to think how much you must have lost so far homemama.

Hello to marls (in the U.S. ?) I missed that you'd joined the thread.

Lysettes · 14/03/2006 11:48

Marls! Just heard, glad you're all ok Smile.

I've decided not to weigh myself till at least one month after birth, too depressing...especially in the evenings!

whoever it was that was having the sneezing problem a while ago, I'm having it now BlushBlushBlush - must get doing those exercises.

Has anyone started doing pg yoga yet?

remember mabel - serenity is queen!!

Have a good day everyone
xx

tassis · 14/03/2006 11:51

Hi girls, can I join?!

I'm due Septmeber 21st so almost 13 weeks. I've been lurking here for weeks and weeks but as we've had 2 m/cs since ds I thought I'd lie low.

I look forward to chatting...

Normsnockers · 14/03/2006 12:06

welcome to tassis.

puppy · 14/03/2006 12:09

Welcome tassis and congratulations Smile

mabel1973 · 14/03/2006 12:12

welcome tassis and congratulations :)

Compo - yes we live in nottingham - moved back last year after a spell down south (we have lots of baby sitters on hand up here!)

Lysettes · 14/03/2006 13:15

congratulations and welcome! Smile

Coriander73 · 14/03/2006 13:21

Mabel, why are you letting it get to you so much? Just ignore them or do as I'd have done and confront them!!!! They're not worth it, seriously they're obviously quite rude people & will continue to be even if you did leave the nursery. Why should your DS suffer? He's happy there isn't he? That's the important thing... Chin up girl :)

Welcome tassis & Marls....:)

Compo, am sure I've put on half a stone...ggrrrrr...just when I'd lost all my pg weight!

Marls001 · 14/03/2006 13:24

Yes; in States - Bentonville, Arkansas ...

puppy · 14/03/2006 13:43

Just had a email from picturetrail stating that i have had 62 views of my scan pics Shock. we have lurkers Grin, i' a lurker most of the time myself on other subjects i.e chat

mabel1973 · 14/03/2006 13:59

cori - I know you are right - I think I was feeling particularly hormonal yesterday and also finally biting the bullet and booking in DS for hs MMR, which I found quite hard as have been putting off. So just put yesterday down to being 'one of those days'!

Marls001 · 14/03/2006 14:23

Forgot to say thanks for welcoming! Smile Glad to have found this group. Hope it's okay to be posting from the States. Please let me know!

Reading abt the damage this morning Sad but feeling very lucky. Smile

Lysettes · 14/03/2006 15:08

Marls - the more the merrier!

Puppy, I can't wait till I have a decent scan to load up onto that to share Smile I only have from 9 weeks so it's a bit fuzzy lol

Are we all having good days today?

HellKat · 14/03/2006 16:21

Welcome Tassis & marls.
Marls- My dad was born in Arkansas and I grew up all over (navy brat Wink) but settled in Missouri until I was 7 then came back here. Desperately trying to persuade dp to let us move back there eventually. He's reluctant to leave his family.
Tassis- Totally understand about you lurking. I was a lurker for a while too (had 4 previous mc's) plus this pg was'nt looking too healthy to begin. Definitely 100% now though Grin.

Got my next mw appointment booked for next Thursday. Anyone got any appointments or scans coming up?

Woodelf · 14/03/2006 16:26

Yep HK, seeing mw for first time on Monday (are they scary or nice?), plus another scan next Wed.
DH keeps saying I've got a belly, I explain kindly that it's not a beer belly as I haven't even been able to take so much as a sniff since all this started. Definately out of character for me as we have a lovely real ale pub nearby that DH loves and I used to enjoy a pint too!

Have noticed that I get really dizzy if I stand up too quickly - not pleasant and have to sit or lie back asap... anyone else having fun staying upright? COuld still sleep for england! Grin. Weight may not be showing on scales much but I sure FEEL PG now!

Bella23 · 14/03/2006 16:31

Welcome to the new joiners, Marls001, wow from the states, will be interesting to hear how your pregnancy care differs from ours.

Tass - totally relate to feeling nervous joining a thread, I don't think I will relax until I have a huge bump to prove everything is real to me!

HellKat - yep I have a midwife appointment next Tuesday, I guess they are going to take lots of blood etc so dreading that bit!

Puppy - wow 62 hits on your scan piccie - very popular!!Grin

Lysettes - yes am wanting to start pregnancy yoga but and I know this sounds really silly but wanted to wait until I looked more pregnant. So hopefully in another month's time

Is anyone joining an NCT group? My friend has recommended that I join one so have put my name down. Anyone been before - are they worth it?
