morning everyone. made it to the big 12 weeks stage :o:o:o i feel so far behind everyone else as i'm due on the 24th, anyone else after me?

my sisters got the week off work now so hopefully she'll use this time to rest and try to stay positive. i personally don't think it'll be good news and it's breaking my heart. i tried to see if anyone on mn has had a positive outcome after being told the amniotic sac was the wrong shape and nobody has. i've also tried to find what i can from the net and i can't find any good news for her.

hk - i gained loads of weight the first time around as i was a size 8 when i got pg and the weight piled on quickly, then slowed down then took a big leap at the end and went right up to the top of the weight charts. this time i'm a big girl but have actually lost a few pounds without trying, i think that's from being ill and the thought of certain foods makes my stomach turn at the moment so i'm tending to not bother making food until i'm at the stage of really really needing it. i had lovely salmon, rice and veg for tea last night as the thought of anything greasy makes me sick. i've now gone off curry! i love curry and so does dp but i don't even want to cook it for him as i think the smell will make me sick. this is really strange this feeling as i never had any of this with dd.

another thing, has anybodies boobs not grown? mine are small anyways despite me now being a big girl but they just don't ever seem to grow even when i was expressing my milk for dd they never changed. they hurt loads but sadly there's no growth there.

Hiya all,

KK my chest is no different just slightly sore, keeping my fingers crossed for your sister.

Feel an emotional wreck today blubbering over silly things.
Started to paint the ceiling in the cloakroom got so upset that it was taking along time to cover the area where we had a leak that i have thrown in the towel. I had planned on painting stairs and landing , bought all the stuff no can't be bothered grrrrrrr. So MN it is Grin

compo · 12/03/2006 13:24

puppy - dh is painting today which means that I got ds all on myown, trying to stop him goig up the staris all the time in case he knocks his dad off the ladder .... gggrr. I know I should take him out into the fresh air but feeling really tired today and can't be bothered to do anything!!

puppy · 12/03/2006 14:53

Just wondering if anybody has felt any movements yet?
this is my 2nd pregnancy, last night and just now I could have sworn I felt something, just a short light tickle iykwim. I am 13 weeks today, with DS I was 16weeks when I felt movements.

Going for a lay down having a crampy day.

mabel1973 · 12/03/2006 18:38

puppy I am sure I am feeling things now.
especially in the evenings after I've eaten (which is when I used to feel DS)
I am 14 weeks +3 and think I was about 18 weeks with DS

benjaminsmum · 12/03/2006 21:37

Good Evening everyone.

Had a good weekend. Spent this afternoon cooking real food from scratch (Annabel Karmel) so now have soup and pasta sauce made in batches in freezer and can feel less guilty about the c**p I have been feeding ds since becomming pg. Ds played on his own beautifully for the whole time as dh at work. Couldn't believe it as he has been a bit of a 'two year old' the last week or so.

Fifteen weeks today. The last three weeks have flown by since I passed the all important twelve weeks and scan.

I am sure I can feel the baby at times. The odd kick that doesn't coincide with wind! Blush In the mornings I can definately feel a solid bump where my bladder is full and pushing the uterus out. Sorry if TMI. Can't wait to know that I am definately feeling it though.

Went to NCT sale on Saturday and stocked up on newborn vests, a snowsuit for £1 and a few other bits. It was so exciting!

Anyway must go now so hope everyone stays well until I next get online.

HellKat · 13/03/2006 07:45

Morning all.
Well healthy eating made me feel fab yesterday. Plus ds2 loved the poached fish for dinner Grin. Had poached fish in milk with a little garlic, black pepper & mushrooms, green beans and mashed potatoes. Bless him, he'll eat anything (unlike ds1 and dp Wink).
I've felt the odd "bubbling" up until Saturday night. I was in the bath and felt the unmistakable teeny somersault. It's only happened once again since.
Bens- My womb goes the same way too lol
How's everyone today?
Feels very odd knowing I've got to make my second mw appt for next week when I'll be 15 weeks. It's flying by.

Lysettes · 13/03/2006 09:38

Morning everyone!

I've definitely got to get internet sorted out at home - I'm so behind on all your news since friday Smile

Norms - no pud????? I know I'm a bit late on this one but.... Had a really "need" for gooey chocolate pud this weekend, finally indulged with a whopping 24g of fat in a very small pudding Blush

I haven't had to have a full bladder for any of my scans, and about movements, it's 1pg so I'm not sure if they are movements, but it kind of feels like bubbling in the right place, sort of like when your tummy gurgles with wind (sorry TMI I'm sure), but not where it would do if it's wind. Does any of that make sense???

My thighs have sprouted lives of their own and grown since saturday (probably that chocolate pud...), and my boobs have followed suit - new bras for me definitely soon I think. Don't know if I'll reach your 34F though Mable!! That's impressive!

Sorry for the long post but have to tell you all this crying one - Reruns of Auf Wiedersehen Pet!!! DH insists on watching them, and I'm ashamed to say about the only serious bit in the whole show made my blub Blush

Homemama good luck with your scan too today!

Have a great day everyone

Coriander73 · 13/03/2006 09:39

Morning all,

Not feeling too bad this morning :) I watched the Royal last night & sat blubbing when Meryl died....feel very teary. Have to go & by some bras as I'm living in an old sports bra at the moment but I can't get it washed quick enough. I've been thinking about those EM bras...maybe I'll go & check them out.

Back to Fiday night....dinner wasn't bad. They cooked fish with salad which was light enough. Managed to stay until 10.15!!! Yesterday afternoon went over to other friends for Sunday Roast (we don't do Roasts in our house so it's a real treat when we have them). Had very embarrasing moment when I leaned over to help DD get the veg onto her folk when I...shall we say...passed wind!!! Luckily they thought it was DD but DH knew it was me & I could feel myself go red...that's never happened before...it just seemed to have a mind of it's own...I couldn't control it...gosh, hope that's not a sign of things to come!!!! :o

Bella23 · 13/03/2006 09:47

Morning ladies

Coriander - very amusing about the "accidental" fart!! I have to say that since becoming pregnant I have turned into a body taken up by wind - am constantly needing to burb and as for the other, well definately although no public embarrassments as yet

Lysettes - ooh choc pud sounds fab, I have such a sweet tooth at the moment, am going to be the size of a house very soon!!

Hellkat - jealous to hear that you can feel something so soon, don't think I can feel anything at all, not even bubbling. Oh well gives me something else to obsess about!Grin

Well its a lovely day here, really crisp. Apparently its going to get bitter for the rest of the week though so looks like Spring is not on its way - do you think we are bypassing a season, this cold weather seems to have gone on soooooooo long!!

Lysettes · 13/03/2006 10:48

Bella - it's a gu choc pud - Mmmmmmm - I have one left in the fridge, might have to succumb again tonight Blush

has anyone thought about nappies yet? I know it's really early but the whole disposables / reusables debate has reared it's head in our house (MIL is a Kiwi and v keen to do lots of research on all things baby related...). DH is concentrating on the "it's more work" angle and is firmly for disposables, but I am having a real guilt complex about the environmental effects.

Any advice or views?

Bella23 · 13/03/2006 11:10

Lysettes - On the subject of nappies, I think I am going to try some of the eco-friendly disposables which are available as know that I am not cut out for the hassle of washing etc.

Have a look here:
\link{http://www.spiritofnature.co.uk\eco nappies}

mabel1973 · 13/03/2006 11:18

Lysettes I have just (in the last 3 weeks) moved over to cloth nappies with DS. I intended to use them from the beginning, but we moved house and then I didn't have my tumble dryer etc etc...
But with no.2 on the way and things tight financially - and me being a bit of closet hippy, I decided to take the pluge and quite honestly it has been really easy, much less hassle than I thought it would be. and as I bought quite a lot of nappies (25) I am only washing once a week and just keep them in a big plastic garden bin outside the back door. I've even managed to dry them on the line and haven't had to use the dryer at all.

mabel1973 · 13/03/2006 11:26

forgot to say - there's loads of advice and threads on the go in the nappies, potty training section if you want any help

Lysettes · 13/03/2006 12:49

Mabel and Bella - thanks so much! the eco friendly disposables look very interesting and as we have no outside space might be a good compromise.

thanks!

homemama · 13/03/2006 14:54

Hi everyone. Just a quickie as very sick today. Had scan this morning. All is well. It was a nuchal scan and combined with the bloods, we were given a risk of 1:27000 so that's good news. According to scan I'm 13wks today although 12+5 by LMP, so close.
Hope all is well. Smile

Normsnockers · 13/03/2006 15:04

Good news Homemama especially about the risk ratio.

According to scan dates I was 13 weeks yesterday but I don't have another scan for 3 weeks now.

Sorry you're feeling very sick again. Try to rest up and look afer yourself.

Woodelf · 13/03/2006 15:21

Glad the scan went well homemama!
Got to wait a week and a half for my next one but excited already...

Proper defined wee bump now which feels v firm and is even there when I lie down.. though fluid retention means I feel v slim in the morning and kinda plumpy by evening! 1lb wieght gain so far but I'm sure to catch up over the next few weeks as the bump expands hee hee Grin

HellKat · 13/03/2006 15:49

Homemama- Great news about your scan. Hope you're not feeling too rough.

Cori- Pmsl at you breaking wind. That had me giggling!!!! Grin
Wood- Envy at you 1lb weight gain. Good for you!

I'm not too worried now because I got very lucky with ds2 and got back to my pre baby weight within 6wks. Ohhhhh I hope so to this time Grin. The joys of breastfeeding!

mabel1973 · 13/03/2006 15:51

Good news hoomemama :)

Can I just have a rant please?
Have just returned from playgroup. 2 of the mums there (who have never spoken to me in the last 9 months that've been taking DS there - it's a bit clicky to say the least) openly discussed (within my earshot) whether they thought I was pregnant. I could hear them saying 'do you think she is...' and blatantly looking at my stomach and the other one going ' well I have been wondering'
I just thought HOW RUDE. I was only standing about a foot away from them.
I am actually quite upset and considering not going any more, although DS would be the one suffering.
As they have never bothered to make me feel welcome there have never even said hello, why do they think it's any of their business?
Am I over reacting?
Some one feeling level headed needs to tell me what they think!!

mabel1973 · 13/03/2006 16:05

sorry still ranting...
that combined with the fact that one much older boy (about 4) was climbing the climbing frame and DS (15 months) was tring to climb behind him and this boy started kicking out at DS with his foot, he didn't actually catch him, but his mum stood there watching the whole thing and didn't say a word!!!!

Normsnockers · 13/03/2006 16:06

Mabel, I think the women at playgroup are rude but life seems to be full of rude people.

Lysettes · 13/03/2006 16:21

mabel they just sound very rude, try and remain serene and rise above it Grin!!!

homemama - great news and brilliant ratio of odds

woodelf totally sympathise about the water retention - my bump almost makes me look 14+5 in the mornings and then in the afternoons it just increases rapidly!!! dread to think what i'l look like later on if i carry on like this..

Bella23 · 13/03/2006 16:50

Mabel - oh dear what a horrible bunch of women.
Agree with Lysettes, always best to rise above as totaly agree that there are so many rude people everywhere!
Poor you though, not what anybody needs - to overhear such bunch a witches at nursery!!

mabel1973 · 13/03/2006 18:16

have just told dh and my mum. DH says don't go again and my mum (the voice of reason) says rise above it they aren't worth getting bothered about.
I am just flabbergasted now that people think that it's perfectly acceptable to be like that.
Don't hold out much hope for their kids....
