Thanks Puppy.

Hope you are taking your own advice and staying nice and relaxed. Lordy this early pregnancy lark is tough isn't it !!

Bella23 · 02/03/2006 12:47

Thanks Katie xx
yes as you say just waiting on that magic 12 week scan!
I think because mine is actually approaching on Monday the pressure is starting to show a bitGrin
Its nice to be able to share these worries as in RL life its very hard because people don't really "get" where you are coming from

puppy · 02/03/2006 12:57

Yep early pregnancy can be the pits Sad, but worth it in the end if all goes well Smile

Lysettes · 02/03/2006 13:26

bella - thinking of you! it's definitely better to talk on here where no one thinks you are a nutter! You just need to rest and think positive thoughts.

Anyone got any advice on dealing with a bully at work? I'm oversensitive anyway right now (bless those hormones) and my natural instinct to fight is just not kicking in Smile

Off to ANC this afternoon - hopefully the blood pressure is staying down - fingers crossed.

compo · 02/03/2006 13:48

mabel1973 - don't you get a scan at all then at 12 weeks or just not a nuchal one?
Bella - I know what you mean, I'm very nervous about monday too but also excited. Fingers crossed we both have good news Monday night Smile

Normsnockers · 02/03/2006 14:06

Homemama,

I have now been prescribed a stronger drug after discussion of risks etc and it seems to be working. I have not been sick for 3 days. I still feel queasy and can't cough or it leads to a vomit but I am gradually thinking clearly again.

I'm on ondansetron (Zofran) twice a day. The pharmacist got quite excited talking about how it works and the difference between it and maxalon because I asked him how that works. (according to him maxalon works by clearing food through the system faster so there's nothing to come back up: Zofran works completly differently by blocking emetic receptors or something, it was all beyond me.)

I know I am taking a risk but the thought of another 20+ weeks of being a washed out zombie/useless mother was not attractive.

I am hoping my blood pressure will come down now as I hopefully only have scans to worry about to check no damage is being done to little bub.

Hello to everyone else, mostly having scans it seems and hope those niggling cramps and bleeds stop soon.

calvemjoe · 02/03/2006 14:17

Puppy, promise to get the bleeding checked out if you have any more.

Bella, it must have been hard for you to watch a friend go through a pregnancy after losing one of your own. I can understand your feelings and hope you get through the next few weeks. x

mabel1973 · 02/03/2006 15:08

compo - I had my 12 week scan early - at 10 weeks - no reason they just booked it early. But have had no mention of a neuchal scan - NHS or otherwise.
Am not impressed with my MW so far, she is none too happy that I have not chosen to go to 'her' hospital, but to the fancy maternity 'hotel' further away. Also friends haven't said much positive either about her which doesn't help.

Bella - you are not a nutter! I can understand how upsetting it mus have been for you last time. Like having your nose rubbed in it. especially hard when you want to be happy for them. But stay positive for your little beanie!

puppy - look after yourself - take it easy!

I know I've said this before but I feel very none pg now. I'd just love to hear the heartbeat or feel something - just so I know it's all ok.

compo · 02/03/2006 15:09

perahps they did the nuchal fold test but didn't mention it?!!

curlygirl · 02/03/2006 15:32

Mabel1973 - the nuchal scan is not always offered but you can book it yourself. Look on the web for private clinics that do them and just book one. It may be a bit late for you though as you have to have a blood test and scan at around 12 weeks.

benjaminsmum · 02/03/2006 15:37

Hi
I know it was a long time ago but I have only just got on here.
Cal- MIL sounds awful but mine is sooo into the grandchildren and ignores her son, my dh, that it drives me mad so I guess we can't win!

Mabel - Our nhs trust offers nuchal fold scans as a matter of course but we chose to refuse it and just had a normal scan.

Bella - so understand what you are going through. One of my ds postnatal group friends gave birth on Sunday I found out yesterday. My baby should have been due in two weeks time and I was shocked at how much it upset me. It wasn't as though I didn't know this baby was going to be born. I cried all the way home and am welling up now just writing this. In a way I feel guilty because I am now happily pregnant with this baby who so far is fine but still feel cheated out of other one. Don't know how I will cope when I see it probably next week.

Other than that I am well, nearly fourteen weeks, tiredness has just about gone along with the sickness although that returns if I don't eat regularly enough.

Sorry it was long but don't get on the internet often.

Bella23 · 02/03/2006 16:16

Thanks ladies for all the support.
Benjaminsmum - it just hits you very unexpectantly doesn't it !!
I usually feel better once I've had a few tears, think it must be the release

calvemjoe · 02/03/2006 19:23

I need a moan.
Have been really tired all day and was just getting darling son out of the bath when a got a sharp pain in my tummy and he did a massive poo. Shouted for dh to come up (he was waiting to come and do hydrocortisone duty) and asked him to give me a hand and he just stood there and went, 'he's not dry, I'm going to be late for cadets.' idiot. pain has eased so I don't think it was anything to worry about, just pregnancy, but he didn't even mention it. Feel so loved now. He's spent all afternoon on the x-box and then kept on upsetting ds. Was really looking forward to him having the day off and he just made a normal day so much harder Sad

Rant over, thanks for listening x

HellKat · 03/03/2006 06:09

Morning all.
Cal- I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Your muscles are that fragile the slightest thing could've jarred something. Ever got that sharp muscle pain in your stomach when you're pg and you do a hearty sneeze or cough while you're lyin on your side? Keep an eye on it though.
Bella- It is terrifying. I posted on the pregnancy after mc thread that I won't be relieved until this little one is wriggling away in my arms.
Puppy- Take it easy sweety. God i remember the bleeding bit (can't believe that was 4 weeks ago). Great news is you have a reason for the bleeding as I did.

Got the appt for the heartbeat check at 10am and will be glad when it's over. I hate being this pessimistic when I'm naturally a really optimistic person. I'll feel alot better when I feel definite kicks.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

puppy · 03/03/2006 08:25

Just a quick post, had more spotting and as promised I rang EPU, i have a scan at 1.30pm, will post result as soon as I can get on the net ( got a mindee 3 till 6pm but may sneak on just to let you know Blush )

EPU thinks its to do with the ech, fingersd crossed.

HellKat · 03/03/2006 08:40

Puppy-{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} be thinking of you sweetheart. Hang in there. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

kreamkrackers · 03/03/2006 09:01

puppy - i'm sure everything will be fine, it's just to make sure they know it's the ech which they think it is.

hk - try not to worry, i'm sure evrything will be fine for you. baby protected herself so well in those bad weeks so i'm sure this little one is a fighter.

cal - your dh shouldn't be so selfish, he needs to help out more from now on.

bella - i understand what you're going through. my sister is now pg after fertility treatment which is lovely as it's taken her a year to get this far. we both started trying at the same time and i got pg but sadly had a mc and it brought so much distance between us as she wasn't getting pg. i'm now scared that if something happened to my baby i would have to watch her carry on with her pregnancy. it's hard because i'm so happy for her yet i do feel that if something happened to my baby i would find it really hard to watch her bump grow (which might be really big as she released 4 eggs! she's having a scan next week to see how manys in there)

i have no news on my next scan yet, i'm 10 weeks but at the hospital where i go they said it might take place between 14 and 15 weeks. i've now decided to not go in for the triple test as even if there was a high risk of down's or something similiar i couldn't go through with the amnio. i just want a much more detailed 20 week scan, especially to check the heart.

Bella23 · 03/03/2006 09:34

Puppy - good luck at the EPU, let us know how you get on xx

12 weeks today - hoorah!! Right positive vibes from now onGrin

puppy · 03/03/2006 09:42

Somebody slap me across the face, can't stop crying , fallen out with dh and dm this am, dh says i am willing it to be bad news, after a m/c in sept i am bound to be worried arghhhh. then spoke to dm over a driving matter and she started to have a go at me regarding driving ( i dislike driving and not so confident, dh thinks i'm a good driver) car low on fuel and this is enbarassing to say in 11 years of driving i have never had to fill up before so rang dm to help.
