Passmethecrisps · 19/04/2012 18:50

Blimey! Just about to get fed so am just checking in. 27 weeks?!! Awesome . . . And terrifying!

Great to hear scan news. No word on mine yet. 11 weeks today.

tomatoplantproject · 19/04/2012 19:18

Crikey itala that's stunning news? Just how though did you not know??! Please stay on here and show us what to do!!

And well done for other happy scans today. Lots of cheerful news Grin

Am getting excited cos dh is coming back from trip away. Although have had a couple of amazing nights sleep...

blonderthanred · 19/04/2012 19:36

Thank you very much all those who replied. I fed the baby some chocolate cake and haven't had any twinges since so maybe it was hungry. It was a very odd sensation though! Guess I have to get used to those.

Delighted to hear positive news from Izzy, Peaky and Horsey*. Good luck to those with scans tomorrow and in the next few days!

Plunkett · 19/04/2012 20:05

Nice to see so many [grins] and good news from scans. I'm a little Envy that people have dates for 20 week scans, we've still not heard about 12 week one yet.

Wow Italia 27 weeks! How exciting.

Not sure if anyone is buying yet, but had leaflet about the Asda baby event starting on 23rd - looks like there might be some good offers.

TheDetective · 19/04/2012 20:26

I just realised I haven't, um, been for a, errrrrm, poo for like 5 days. Fuck its gonna sting Blush

Blonder, been having twinges, and pains, but usually on movement? Sometimes they take my breath away. I now have to realise that I can't lift myself off the sofa crab stylee, and must be more lady like about it. Baby is fussy!

FatimaLovesBread · 19/04/2012 20:34

We've just got the appointment for the 12 week scan through today. It's on 11th May when i'll be 12+0. But we're away for a long weekend so i'm going to have to ring up and change it.

Got my midwife booking in appointment at home tomorrow, already had my bloods taken at 5 weeks though so no needles.

I keep getting the odd periody ache but I suppose that's just my uterus growing?

ValiumQueen · 19/04/2012 20:39

Anyone eagerly awaiting SPD? Not! I only had it with DD2, and it was not too bad.

horseylady · 19/04/2012 20:44

Just read everyone else's posts!! Yay for the good news but omg 27weeks?!?!?! It is so strange the scan though? I was desperate for a week trying not to laugh/cry and just amazed that there is a little person in there?! Everyone I've told is really happy so it's just so good!! ESP when there's lots of bad news in the family ATM! Makes you happy when people share your joy! Right I'm packing for a weekend away in Belgium!! Have fun weekends everyone!!

horseylady · 19/04/2012 20:54

Dh21 think I've sent the pm?!

applepieinthesky · 19/04/2012 21:00

fatima - I keep getting period-type aches as well and was wondering what it's all about. Does anyone know?

horseylady · 19/04/2012 21:14

I had really bad period like pains this morning. I also knew id not really been to the loo ( not sounding too graphic sorry) once I'd been it eased loads. Think everything is just growing lots as well which prob doesn't help!

Little9 · 19/04/2012 21:17

Crikey, 27 weeks....now that's a shocker!! Congratulations to all the happy scans. So glad we're getting lots of good news at last. Fingers crossed for all scans coming up soon.

I keep getting various twinges also usually when moving, and put them down to things moving about/relaxing.

Got a busy weekend coming up with a dog competition on both Sat and Sun. At least it's only down the road, so not far to go. Although it's outside so may get a bit wet! Hubby is away for the weekend too, so taking Monday off to recover do house work! Will probably be stressing about scan on Tues as well so probably best not being at work.

nebbo · 19/04/2012 21:41

italia that is brilliant crazy news!! I have a friend who found out at 28 weeks, I was only talking to her sister ( who is also preg) about it today saying that I feel so out of body I can't believe she managed to go that long without knowing something was up!!! Just goes to show us though!

Well I hate to overshadow this great news with my great news .......... Today 19th April, 5 days and 3 washes later, I finally summoned up the ?energy ?motivation to unload the washing machine!! Don't all gasp at once.

Night night girls and good luck for tomorrows scans xx

misslaughalot · 19/04/2012 22:00

nebbo that's great news! Fancy coming over to do mine too?!?! Grin

TheDetective · 19/04/2012 22:05

The washing machine is in the kitchen. Therefore, by default, this is DP's job now Grin.

I was getting a little twitchy at the high piled washing basket earlier, but just heard him put a load on. Phew! No nagging required. For once.

Nebbo, you are a braver woman than I to even attempt at putting it on. Let alone unload it!

Stuntnun · 19/04/2012 22:35

OMG I have a bump now. It wasn't there yesterday. I think I'll have to get the maternity clothes down from the loft and think about coming clean at work next week.

OP posts:
WestWinger · 19/04/2012 22:37

Stuntnun - exactly the same here! Mine has just popped out from nowhere this evening!

YellowWellies · 19/04/2012 22:48

Oh my lord - my sister had her daughter at 27+3! Wow that is a shocker... Were you having periods?

For those suffering from constipation, forget prunes - kiwi fruits are your friends.... well so the advice goes. I've just eaten three. I'll let you know how I get on / or you may hear of warnings from the coastguard agency of a new danger spotted to shipping in the Pentland Firth... Grin (am such a classy bird)

Chunkychicken · 20/04/2012 08:57

OMG 27wks!!! Itala that's amazing. So envious. You get to tell everyone the news and know you don't have long to wait!!

I have a bump Grin and its not just the food baby (although he is growing HUGE). I noticed it in my knickers this morning - just a slight rounding of the front of my pants, where before it would be flat/loose, iykwim.

Still in my thongs - did the whole of DDs pg in them, they just tuck under the bump & don't need to expand to accommodate your ever-increasing arse because there ain't one!! Blush

Feeling slightly more sick again this morning but more worried about what I can wear for my DD's birthday party tomorrow, as not everyone knows!! Confused

Had quite bad pelvic/hip pain last time but have a dodgy pelvis anyway, so was prepared for it & kept seeing my chiropractor & doing gentle stretches, plus had a DreamGenii pillow which I loved. Not everyone's cup of Brew apparently but it really worked for me. Already getting strange hip/pelvic/sciatic (sp?) pain so seeing chiropractor on Tues. Haven't been for 9mths or so I think, so should have gone ages ago anyway, but this has prompted my action.

Happy Friday everyone :)

ShellyBobbs · 20/04/2012 11:11

Itala WOW, absolutely fantastic news, 27 weeks!

Just been to Aldi to get the big shop in. There is absolutely nothing in the fridge except for 6 large bags of mozzarella and a huge bowl of cherry tomatoes. I've also gone overboard with grapes and strawberries, so on the whole I haven't done too bad for a hungry preggy lady :)

I have felt myself expanding down there this morning, like really stretching so hopefully in a couple of days I will have a solid bump instead of dangly skin dough, although from my bust to my belly, it's quite solid and big so who knows how much wind is in there Grin.

Good luck with all the scans today ladies.

TheDetective · 20/04/2012 11:37

Your fridge sounds perfect to me Shelly Nom nom nom!!

I was right. It hurt like hell. I have the wind from the devil to accompany it.........

Got to stay in today whether I could go out or not, as waiting for yet another Virgin Media engineer visist to fix the fact I've had almost no internet for 6 months. They won't let me cancel the damn contract even though I'm paying for nothing!

Thank god for my neighbour having unsecured wireless. Ahem.

Also having a text 'row' with DS's Dad. When I say row, I am not rowing, he is swearing and insulting me, DP, and this baby. He is a horrible man. All because I asked him to review what he is paying in child maintenance. He pays 15% of the minimum wage from over 3 years ago. He is a store manager now. I really think he is taking the biscuit just a little. I bend over backwards to allow him access whenever he asks for. He ususally gives me 2 days notice for the following week, if that sometimes. I have paid for all christmas and birthday presents for DS when he couldn't afford to because his car broke down and he had a large bill. I'm not an unreasonable person. I have subsidised his payments for over 3 years, but obviously, soon I won't be in a position to do that, and I don't see why DS should suffer when his Dad is able to contribute a more fair amount.

This is the man that told me to shut up and get bent when I asked him to make sure DS wasn't watching inappropriate films when at his sisters. DS came to me upset, because he had seen paranormal activity at his aunts house with his cousin - they are both 10!!! I had to restrain myself greatly in dealing with it!

GRRRRRRR knobheads!

DonnaDoon · 20/04/2012 12:02

Gosh Detective you do seem to have rather a lot to deal with in your life...glad my life is so ..well..boring. Poor you.
In other news Im lying quietly on my bed and baba is so active its unreal. Its lovely and so reassuring...cant wait til scan next week.

Belgrano · 20/04/2012 13:31

Hi! Had my scan- all seemed ok thank goodness. I hadn't realised though that the cash strapped NHS doesn't give results on the day! Have to wait till end tue for phone call if it's bad news ie high risk, and 2 weeks if it's ok (letter in the post).
Anyway, nuchal translucency was 1.4mm- hooray! And we await the rest.
Oh- and she changed my due date to Oct 28th... Does this mean I need to find a new thread?? Hope not!

WestWinger · 20/04/2012 13:38

Great news Belgrano - am sure the results will be fine.

Please stay with us - we all know each other now!!

daisychain76 · 20/04/2012 13:47

So nice to have a couple of days full of good news from scans and the like. Yes, do stay here Belgrano, babies never come on their due date anyway!
Made around 150 rounds of toast this morning (for DCs school) without retching once, so am very proud! 10 weeks today so really hoping this nausea goes soon. Going to a New Kids on the Block concert in the evening next Tuesday which I've been looking forward to for ages (no, I'm not ashamed of that!), but really worried I won't cope as going to bed at 8pm usually.

thedetective sorry you are having such a stressful day. Hope it gets better for you.
