COD, I've never been gladder to skip a car show, the one we were supposed to go to was flooded out Shock

Booking in tomorrow Grin

I fly to Latvia the day I turn 20weeks, would it be better to have the scan before I go or after? I'm tempted to go for after so I don't spend the trip fretting if something needs investigating...

mwahmwah · 30/04/2012 18:19

Bio oil for avoiding stretchmarks - 2 pregnancies down not a solver line in sight ;o) miracle stuff!

mwahmwah · 30/04/2012 18:20

*silver not solver

CODwidow · 30/04/2012 18:22

Oh I am also avoiding maternity clothes for as long as poss although have been looking at possible purchases! But hoping I can get to at least 16 weeks. Problem is put me in elasticated waist and I'll just eat and eat! Lol :)

CODwidow · 30/04/2012 18:24

Purple I'd properly wait til after just in case although I'm sure everything's fine but just in case :)

ScrambledSmegs · 30/04/2012 18:39

Hello all. I was on the last thread, but got a rubbish at posting and then got lost in the move.

Big news. Today I had my 7 week scan at the EPU. And got a massive shock. Instead of a teeny heartbeat flickering on the screen, I saw a baby. An actual BABY. Waving at me Shock

My dates have been re-calculated to 11+3, and my due date is now 16th November Shock Previously my due date was between 9th & 14th December. I will very sadly be leaving you, and wishing you all well.

I'm off to clamp my jaw shut with elastoplast, as this Shock is not a good look. Not permanently, anyway!

acjfluff · 30/04/2012 18:40

Also booking in tomorrow! I was rather excited then I asked my dad about medical conditions I might have to mention and came away with a huge list!! Trust him to have everything going.

I'm also trying to stay out of maternity clothes for as long as possible. This does mean I've been spending most of my time at home wearing my pyjamas. Any excuse :)

whatmess · 30/04/2012 18:40

Just got back from having my early scan. It was a bit scary for a moment as she asked me to empty by bladder for an internal, which is exactly what we had to do the last time before we were told the bad news. I heard Dh's sigh and then went off to the loo repeating the "pls be all right" mantra.
Turns out sticky bean is fine Grin. We saw the heart beat and she said it all looks good although she also stressed it wasn't a guarantee things would stay that way.
It was lovely to see.

acjfluff · 30/04/2012 18:42

Ps Scrambled wow!!!! No wonder Shock! Good luck with everything!

cherrypiew3 · 30/04/2012 18:46

Hi everyone

Not been on for a few days having a horrible time with the morning sickness which I expected have suffered with it in all my pregnancies GP advised me that if it was no better this week to go back to her and she would give me something for it, phoned the dr's today and could not get an appointment.Sad Have spent the whole weekend in bed every time I move I am sick and food think I have forgot what that looks like feeling really fed up and just want these next few weeks to be over.

On the upside my mum is taking me shopping and treating me to some new bra's on Wednesday. I have a choice of M&S or Debenhams any ideas which would be best.

Hope everyone is well.

cherrypiew3 · 30/04/2012 18:51

ScrambledShock Good luck

whatmess · 30/04/2012 18:56

Good luck Scrambled, I can just imagine how shocked you were but good news. It means you're closer to the end of the morning sickness stage if you have it.

pleasebethismonth · 30/04/2012 19:23

Cherry- M & S for bras everytime!

Lovely news Srambled- good luck

Coping with dd and work at the moment (9+4) BUT I Really need a cleaner! Oh and someone to do the ironing!

Haven't looked at any baby stuff yet and also desperately trying to stay out of maternity clothes. Can't remember who said it but I hated mine with a passion last time too, so much so I took my pre-pregnancy jeans to come out of hospital in!!

Not too long until second trimester, please hurry up!

YikesHereWeGo · 30/04/2012 19:24

Wow Scrambled, you lucky thing you. V jealous! Au revoir et bonne chance.
Cherrypie - M&S have some absolutely gorgeous bras at the mo; I treated myself at the weekend and am feeling very glam under my work clothes. :o

minipie · 30/04/2012 20:28

Glad to hear about your scan whatmess, lovely to see a heartbeat.

Scrambled wow!! fab news, you are nearly into second trimester territory!

Bellaboo on rhesus negative, you will need injections at (I think) 28 weeks and 30something weeks, and after birth. You also need an injection if you notice any bleeding after 12 weeks, or if you fall and hit your bump, in case that causes internal bleeding.

Basically this is because, if your DH/DP is positive (as most people are), you are likely to have a positive baby. It's dangerous if the foetus's positive blood mixes with your negative blood, as antibodies can be created which would then attack any future positive babies. The injections stop the antibodies forming. However, no need to worry about bleeds pre 12 weeks as there is not enough foetal blood to cause a reaction.

You don't need the injections if your DH/DP is also rhesus negative as then your baby can only be negative. (however I have heard of some hospitals giving the injections anyway just in case DH/DP is not the real father! Shock)

Bellaboo123 · 30/04/2012 21:29

Wow thanks for that mini - this pregnancy lark is a learning curve!

Scrambles - lucky u! Good luck Grin

Cherry - m&s all the way! Although I did buy some seamless comfy ones through a grouping on voucher today...for later on!

Not feeling that sick today...just so tired. Dp is watching football and I fell asleep...off to bed for me...night!

Bellaboo123 · 30/04/2012 21:29

Groupon not grouping! Predictive text!

backwardpossom · 30/04/2012 21:40

Still having spotting. Spoke to midwife who seemed unconcerned. From what I told her, she thinks everything is probably ok and that if it turns red or I have any pain then I've to just go straight to the hospital. She said that it's quite normal for this to happen around when your period would be due (and I'm 7+4 today so my period would be due around now) and that if it doesn't settle down over the next few days then to phone them back again. So I'll give it to Thursday morning and if it's still going, I'll see if they can give me a scan. I do wish I knew everything is ok for sure, but I can't change anything if it's not. I'm not going to go running anymore, time to take it a bit more easily I suppose.

QueenofMacaroniCheese · 30/04/2012 22:15

I'm only 9 weeks and absolutely look pg already with a proper bump and gained at least 7 pounds. Has anyone else got this? Is it because it's my 3rd DC or because I'm greedy? I thought I was being quite controlled.... maybe not...

Sorry for all of you who are suffering badly. I really feel for you. Hopefully it'll ease off soon.

Re. Bras - my favourite are Anita, you can get them on figleaves. I get really itchy boobs when pregnant and these are the only ones that don't make it worse.

backwardpossom · 30/04/2012 22:30

I don't think I've put on weight, but I feel really bloated. I was sitting down at work earlier and my trousers were REALLY uncomfortable. Ugh.

Chloe55 · 01/05/2012 07:34

Please tell me I don't have to go to work, sorting the washing this morning has prompted what has just been nausea all day into full blown vomit, I just don't do being sick, it makes me cry Sad. Sorry for me me me, feeling sorry for myself and DO NOT want to go to work today.

ivanapoo · 01/05/2012 08:03

Chloe55 I really feel for you, I've only had tiredness and nausea and dragging myself to work (and staying there) is hideous... I can't act normally as I feel so ropey - I'm sure my colleagues all think I've lost it!

Can you work from home? Does your boss know you're pregnant?

NarcolepsyQueen · 01/05/2012 09:03

Morning all! Hope you all slept well? Things are all good here - think I might pay for an early scan. What do you think? Would be nice to have a date!

Cookiesandcream06 · 01/05/2012 09:16

I'm resus negative and DP is positive so I feel your pain on the injections front - cant wait to go through all that again as well!

I have cracked out a pair of maternity jeans - pregnant or fat - this stomach is bloated 24/7. Didn't want for it to happen but been so uncomfy and now my jeans don't do up Sad

Have bought a new bra- from Tesco so bargain- to accommodate the ever growing boobs!

Hope everyone's sickness isn't too overwhelming.

Must be some booking in appointments happening this week so good luck to everyone who has one Smile and let us know how you get on

CupOfBrownJoy · 01/05/2012 09:18

Morning! Did they not give you a date when you went into the doctors Narcolepsy? Sorry I'm non UK so its probably different here.

All good here. Only symptom so far (6+4) is a daily hormonal tantrum Blush. I got it out of the way early today when DP's snooze alarm went off for the 4th time without him getting out of bed, and I threw it across the room Blush. I have a day off today and of course he should be getting up, sleeps through all his alarms and I'm wide awake on the first one!! Angry

We had a big chat about the nuchal and blood tests last night and have agreed we don't want them. Oh and our new favourite girls name is Cecelia Theresa Smile

Since DP said he would quite like a girl, I've got "girl" stuck in my head and can't get my brain around anything to do with boys! I wonder if its a "sign"?? Grin
