Is 7pm to early for bed?? I'm telling myself no

FoofFighter · 01/04/2012 19:28

Not if you want to no :)

I'm craving a margherita pizza again. Might have to make a midnight dash to Tesco to get one after I've done the pub quiz.... Blush it's all I can think of! I don't want anything else to eat. I forced toast down for lunch and then a sandwich of 4 of those fish fingers but with veg in things but I want a pizza NOW!

Little9 · 01/04/2012 19:41

Nervous I'm off to bed in a minute! Feel like I've run a marathan when in fact all I have done is do a weekly shop at tescos, done the ironing and sat watching a film all afternoon!! I'm taking this as a good sign that bean is sapping my energy for a good cause!! Was the same yesterday and I did even less than today! Hope I can stay awake at work tomorrow, lol. I'm also white as a sheet!

Got my booking in appt tomorrow and scan on 24th April. Can't wait to the see the little bean again, hopefully still with a heartbeat! :o

Hope all you sicky ladies feel better soon. Luckily I have only had mild waves of nausea so far (sorry to rub it in). I have however a horrible pain across the top of my buttocks especially when beding over - feels a bit like I've pulled something - how you do that when you're sitting on it all the time, is anyone's guess!!

Anyway, my bed is beckoning. Speak to you tomorrow, xx

Little9 · 01/04/2012 19:42

bending - stupid keyboard

WaitingForMe · 01/04/2012 21:12

I'm at my mums and told a load of relatives (mum has been keeping it a secret). No chance I couldn't have as I was picking through my roast then an hour or so later was eating toast to ease off nausea. Everyone really happy for me.

My mum has been lovely and hadn't bought in any food for tonight with the view of going to get exactly what I fancied. The man in Waitrose apparently gave her a funny look when she just bought ice-cream and pesto and she joyfully said I was pregnant. She's literally bouncing now she can tell people.

It's been a lovely day but I do feel rather as though I'm dying.

nutellaontoast · 01/04/2012 21:33

Itala - how pants!

Feeling sorry for everyone with the bad nauseas, I think I've got off pretty lightly. Really bloated. Have gone off chocolate and coffee (boo). And feel ill quite a lot, but not too bad.

Sort of impatient to get the pregnancy bit over with and just have a baby already....

pinkapples · 01/04/2012 21:33

More spotting for me Sad definetley going to phone the clinic tomorrow I don't think they should keep me waiting

izzybizzybuzzybees · 01/04/2012 22:21

Hope all goes well for you apples I know how worrying bleeding is

blonderthanred · 01/04/2012 23:24

Good luck apples

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/04/2012 07:17

Hope you're ok apples

Little9 · 02/04/2012 07:26

I'll second that izzy, very worrying. Hope you get it sorted apples. I'm sure it'll be ok - just a bit of excess lining!! Fingers (and everything else) crossed for you.

Well, off to work for my new employer today. Gonna be weird working in the same place, doing almost the same thing but for a private company instead of publc sector. Wonder how quickly things will change?

Have a good day everyone.

FoofFighter · 02/04/2012 07:39

Exciting day for the Foofs, I have the midwife at 1pm (bloods etc) and at 1pm my lovely daughter has her 20 week scan and all being well should find out what sex my grandbaby is Grin just wish I could be with her but that's what you get for her having a fella in the forces, miles away!

Have good days all :)

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 02/04/2012 08:06

Sorry to hear people are feeling lousy. I can report that the vitamin b6 is helping - I only feel really sick if I get hungry and I haven't actually been sick since I started taking it. Actually, I was getting worse every day, and now I seem to have gone back to a reasonably mild level. Long may it last!

Good luck today Foof, and I hope you get seen asap Pinkapples and everything is ok.

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/04/2012 08:11

So foof your baby will be uncle/ aunty to your dd's baby yet he/ she will be younger!
Good luck to you both!

Morning all! Big sympathies to all those struggling with nausea/ms/bleeding/mothers/crappy holidays etc. It's so great we have this thread to share our moans on - I'd feel even more sorry for DH if it wasn't for you girls!

I had a random vomiting experience on Friday night when out with friends from work - we were sat near the gents toilets...need I say more?! Envy I also blurted out I am pg to one of them because I was convinced she was going to spike my blackcurrent and soda with a double vodka! I could have told her I was driving, which I was, but everyone else knew anyway.

First proper day of the holidays for me - hurrah! I realised last half term though that holidays and small children are more difficult than I'd imagined as there is no time to get the necessary work done because DS isn't in childminders. Almost makes it more hard, but family time is wonderful (DH is a teacher too!) so it makes it all worthwhile.

Another sunny day here, but definitely colder. Just saw there's going to be snow up north!?!

Enjoy your day all! And remember, we are amazing - without even thinking about it (well, maybe a little!) we are performing miracles on a daily basis!

Thechick · 02/04/2012 10:16

Good luck apples had spotting from Sunday a week ago, had a scan on Tuesday which showed everything was okay and it finally stopped yesterday. Fingers crossed for you.

Still nauseas today. Its mostly to do with smells. Someone just got a tea round in and the smell is making me want to sit somewhere else. Its awful. Even the taste of water is not going down well. Don't like this at all.

I keep getting shocks from the metal in my work place. I'm getting a little paranoid about it. Sometimes the shock is so bad you can hear the cackle. Ive googled it and most have said its fine. Am I wrong to still to be paranoid about it??

DebussyHead · 02/04/2012 10:19

Morning ladies! Hope everyone is feeling a bit better today. Apples really hope everything is ok with you, that must be so scary but there have been a few people with similar symptoms and things have turned out ok for them so fingers crossed.

I really struggled getting up this morning. Felt dreadful yesterday, not actually sick but feeling so nauseous and wiped out, just lay on the couch most of the afternoon with DD playing around me. Felt like a rubbish mum that I was not interacting with her more, was trying to get her to watch CBBC but she is only 22 months so just wants to play.

This morning I feel really exhasuted and weak. Really struggled to get into work. Thankfully DH took DD into nursery and did her breakfast and dressed her this morning. I had a global conference call at 08.30am which I am so glad is over but dont know how I will get through the rest of this week. I have quite a demanding job which requires long hours and some international travel. I work 4 days a week and often have to work evenings and weekends, its brutal sometimes. I leave work, pick DD up from nursery go straight home, immediately start cooking her dinner, feed her, play a bit, bath, bed, she takes ages to settle so sometimes it is 8pm before I get downstairs to see DH and think about making us some dinner (we take it in turns to cook). Normally I might then eat and have to log back onto my laptop at 9pm and do some work but at the moment I just want to go to sleep at 8pm and have no dinner as am so exhausted and sick. Poor DH never sees me these days as I am always asleep. It's tough as work dont know I am preggers so they still expect the high energy and output when inside I am really struggling and just want to put my head on the desk and sleep, or in the wastepaper basket and barf!

Right that is my moan over for the day. How are you all managing to juggle the demands of work, being a mum (if you are already) and feeling sapped of all energy due to the bean growing inside? I dont remember feeling this pathetic with my first pregnancy (but then again I didnt have a toddler to run after!).

TheDetective · 02/04/2012 11:13

I am typing this from my hospital bed. After vomiting continuously from 6-7pm I decided to come in. I then waited 4 hours to be seen by which time I had vomited well over 20 times. I lost count in the end. They were just going to do the same as Friday - fluids and IV anti emetics, then home.

By that point I was hysterical from vomiting and the drugs didn't work. Because I only had a small amount of ketones they wanted me to go home. I was really past all sense by then. Ketones or not, I am mentally not coping with that level of vomiting.

I am now on the maternity ward and have a better management plan in place. Still been sick this morning but just once so far. That I can cope with fine.

I was vomiting blood last night. It came from my throat. I felt something rupture inside and the taste of the iron in the blood was horrible. Also vomiting the lining of my stomach, which resembles coffee granules.

I thought I might just have normal pregnancy vomiting and nausea, but now I think it's progressed to hyperemesis. Which is what I desperately wanted to avoid and get things under control before they escalated like yesterday.

Wish I didn't have to be so damn assertive though. I'm not bloody stupid. I know what is going on, what is going to happen, etc. I've been through it before and work looking after women with the same.

Just had a very quick scroll through the messages since last night. Hope the bleeding has settled Apples and enjoy today foof!

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/04/2012 11:46

Just caught up with everyone's news. Really sorry to hear that so many of you are suffering such bad sickness particularly thedective sounds awful. I guess at least you are somewhere where you are getting looked after. I really hope you get the treatment you need. I was going to moan about how I don't have any symptons but will just count myself lucky now and stop moaning about it!

I'm just on my way back from scan. I am 8wk +2 but will leave my due date the same until I get confirmation at the 12wk scan. Got to see baby's heartbeat so a relief to see that for now everything is ticking along nicely. So at moment my due date is 9th nov. one day before my birthday! My dd was one day late so if this one follows suit I will be giving birth on my birthday...happy birthday me Smile

Hope everyone has a good day and the ms leaves everyone alone. Roll on 2nd trimester!

Thechick · 02/04/2012 11:57

Oh my goodness thedectective I was going to come on here and complain about still feeling nauseous hours after coming into work. I cannot complain at all. Really hope they sort you out. You still in hospital? Hope you get the treatment you need and you can get back to normal life quickly.

Eliza my birthday is in November too and so if OH's. Mine is 7th, his 15th baby due 20th. Will be a month full of birthdays.

Tiago · 02/04/2012 11:57

Marking place. Sorry about the HE detective. Good luck to all with early scans this week. I have my booking appt this afternoon, which I expect will be dull.

All i want is another scan to check the HB has not disappeared. DH has vetoed it though. He says he'd like us to still have some money by the time the baby arrives...

DebussyHead · 02/04/2012 12:11

Detective you poor thing! That sounds horrendous! All my moans pale in significance to your experience with the sickness. Really hope things get better for you. Take care.

pinkapples · 02/04/2012 12:40

Well no scan for me they basically said there would be no point and it would just worry me more so the 11th it is then hmmm then I can get a booking apt sorted if all is ok...

Belgrano · 02/04/2012 12:40

God detective really hope you get some relief soon. Poor you. Sounds hellish. Makes me feel like I've got off lightly.
However I'm STILL in bed- 4th day now. Very weak and pukey. It's like I have some serious illness. What's that saying-'I'm not I'll, I'm pregnant...' well ha ha ha to that. I'm bloody ill because I'm pregnant!
DH has taken to emptying the sick bowl. That's love isn't it?! Poor lad.
pinkapples so sorry about your worrying time. Let us know how things progress and we have everything crossed for you. Sorry to moan when you're having a much worse time.
Im Supposed to drive 1 1/2 hrs to visit my mum with the dc's and tell her about this pg tomorrow but I don't think that will be happening. Shame, I didn't want to do it on the phone.
Good luck everyone. Surely we'll perk up soon....
