Thank you aswell ninja I will look into it! Is 4cm thick enough for a mattress? There doesn't seem to be an option for any thicker?I am feeling a bit ropey today,I think I have a cold coming and am carrying a bit of a temperature! The cotbed was delivered this morning and we managed to squirrel it away in the bay window behind our bed so we won't have to trip over it! The car seat is coming later in the week and I have no idea where that will go! That's the problem with not having the ' nursery' to store everything in! DH has said that when he gets back from his trip he will treat me to a really nice changing bag so I think i will increase my Internet search and create a wish list. I already have pacapod and a CK oilcloth bag on it! ( I am planning on using the free boots one as the baby's hospital bag).

NinjaChipmunk · 04/03/2012 12:25

wants it might be worth giving them a call re the thickness? Could you keep the car seat in the boot of the car? Then it's ready for action when needed?

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 04/03/2012 12:40

Help yourselves!

Wants, how exciting to be getting cotbeds delivered! DH moved our bed over towards the window last night so the Moses basket can go on my side more easily. Hopefully we will now be able to open the wardrobe without moving Bean if she's asleep. DH now has to edge carefully around the bed on his side, bless him.

5 days to go, eek! Grin Any signs of imminent labour, Purple and Biscuits?

Biscuitsandtea · 04/03/2012 14:35

Wants - I'll measure our crib and pram mattresses when I get home for the depth.....

Wants3 · 04/03/2012 15:13

Thanks everyone! DH is getting used to me starting a conversation with ... "One of the ladies on my thread said/ recommends.......!"
just got to wash up lunch and then I have permission to relax!

scarletfingernail · 04/03/2012 15:24

Lovely new bump pics Biscuits and dream.

5 days Too How exciting! My bets are on this order of arrival Too then Purple then Biscuits.

How was your night Ninja? Any disturbances from DH this time?

I had a little chat with DS this morning about when it's time for the baby to come. I don't talk about the baby too much with him as everyone else seems to go on about it all the time. But I thought it was a good idea to start preparing him for the fact he'll probably have to stay at nana's for a couple of days. I told him that when the baby's ready to come out of my tummy I'll have to go to hospital so that the doctor can take it out and that he can stay at nana's and have fun. He looked all excited and said he wants to come to the hospital to see the doctor taking the baby out Confused I wasn't expecting that!

Biscuitsandtea · 04/03/2012 15:41

That's what we've said to DS too Scarlet - in fact he's ad his trial run at the in-laws last night so now he's on board I think. Although he also seems very put out when he can't come to the hospital with me!!

We're coming down on the side of an ELCS here I think Confused. We wrote a not very helpful list of CS v VB which was just full of 'well this way might mean this, or it could mean this' Confused. But I think I'm going to try to get an appt to talk to the consultant tomorrow. I know this is ambitious (!) at such short notice, but I'll see if they'll let me away with it Smile

Oh and no signs of labour here unless a sore knee counts? Hmm I did have achey knees in my 2ww, but I'm not sure even google could justify a sore knee as a sign of labour Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 04/03/2012 15:41

Scarlet - has DS been to stay at your parents yet now the boiler is sorted?

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 04/03/2012 15:48

So far this weekend DH has built raised garden beds, planted out seeds and bedding plants, changed the sheets, moved the bed over to make space for the Moses basket, cooked roast beef and Yorkie puds, cleaned the car thoroughly inside and out and has now gone to Tesco to do the week's shop and replace my new phone with one that actually gets reception here. I have put on a couple of loads of washing and made Welsh cakes. I think he's trying to keep busy. Grin

DreamingOfPeace · 04/03/2012 15:51

wow too! Impressive!!!

but actually, looking at the time, DD is allowed to sleep for 10 more minutes so I'm going to lie downnot post and come back later...

Wants3 · 04/03/2012 15:55

My chat to DS's about when the baby comes was basically, there will be food in the cupboards, don't forget to set your alarms for getting up for school and one of you check your phone for news!
They both have an exam the week of my due date so ds1 wants him to come late and ds2 wants him to come early!

NinjaChipmunk · 04/03/2012 15:57

too i think he might be nesting Grin

jenfraggle · 04/03/2012 16:15

Filling in my MA1 form. What a hassle. As I've been temping, the questions just don't seem to fit with my circumstances. It says I need to ask my employer for SMP and to give me a form to say they won't pay it but I'm no longer with them as it was a temporary assignment!

scarletfingernail · 04/03/2012 16:22

Very impressive Too Maybe you could send him down to me once he's finsished his chores at yours? It does sound as though he's nesting! My DH is also mega busy, but unfortunately not with anything that helps me out with my list of jobs. He's currently laying floorboards.

Biscuits DS has not stayed over yet, my folks have been away and aren't back for another week or so. We have a night planned for the week after so we'll have to wait until then. Mum's let him choose a new duvet cover and bought him some new pj's to wear there and also has a couple of new DVDs as a surprise for him to watch. Fingers crossed...

Good to hear your DS got on ok and that you're a bit closer to making a decision. Have you got a list of questions written down for the consultant in case you forget?

Forgot to say well done to little baby Abbie for her brilliant weigh in the other day Smile

NinjaChipmunk · 04/03/2012 16:48

jen was it through an agency? If so I'd give them a call, or otherwise give the company you worked for a call and speak with their HR, hopefully they can help?

jenfraggle · 04/03/2012 16:59

Yes, it's an agency. Nobody wants to employ pregnant ladies :(

Biscuitsandtea · 04/03/2012 17:53

Wants our pram mattress is 3cm and our crib mattress is 4cm thick.

Both are foam. I would never have a foam cot mattress as I wanted a sprung one, but to be honest when it comes to crib and pram mattresses there doesn't seem to be a great deal of choices and most places only sell foam ones. I think at least Mothercare and John Lewis only sold foam ones (and our crib is from JL). I'm assuming that the babies are so light when they're so small that maybe foam is OK?

Both our crib and pram mattresses were foam for DS as well (and that was a genuine Bugaboo Cameleon one for the pram and a JL one for the crib). This time we bought both mattresses from a local store but they seem to be broadly similar to what we had before. We just need to put the bugaboo cover thing over the pram one.

Oh, and both mattresses that we bought have the little holes through at one end to allow better air circulation (although if you're doing foot to foot, then surely their head is in the middle of the mattress anyway so that surely doesn't work)?

Anyway, hope that helps a teeny tiny bit :)

Wants3 · 04/03/2012 19:05

Thanks for the measuring biscuits I am planning to have baby in crib in our room for a while, at least until the building work is done and then he will go into cot which has a sprung mattress anyway so I don't think foam will be a problem. Do most carrycots that fit onto pushchair chassis come with a mattress these days or is that something else to add to the 'still to buy list'! I feel I should know all this as I am a 3 rd time rounder but everything has changed so much! :) I think knowing that DH is going to be away is making me want to get organised!

Biscuitsandtea · 04/03/2012 19:09

Don't know about the carrycot / mattress thing Wants - I imagine that they come with what they need iyswim? The Bugaboo came with a mattress so I figured we needed to get a new one using the same logic as the new crib and cot mattresses. Plus DS slept in his pram for all his daytime naps for the first 5 or 6 months (at about 6 months he moved into his cot in his own room for daytime and nightime) as we didn't have a Moses basket so the mattress had a lot of use. That was one of the reasons we got the bugaboo - because it had a 'proper' flat carrycot.

I can't remember if you've chosen a pram yet? Do you have a short list? Or have you picked already?

Wants3 · 04/03/2012 19:22

We are still thinking of the britax b smart 3 which also has a separate 'proper' carrycot which will also be in the living room for daytime naps I think.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/03/2012 02:59

Gah!

Stupid insomnia Sad

DS woke me up because he'd had a dream (never got any more details than that) so took him back to bed. Off he goes to sleep.

I've now been awake for 2 hours. Sad I want to go to sleep!!!

NinjaChipmunk · 05/03/2012 06:38

Oh biscuits poor you! If it makes you feel any better I've had pretty much no sleep. Between having indigestion and dp snoring like a train, ds decided he didn't feel well and vomited up his fish fingers all over the duvet at about 4am. I am shattered and once again had to not go to work. I'm hoping its food related not a bug as I really don't want it.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/03/2012 06:45

Oh no Ninja - that's far worse! You poor thing! Can you get any sleep / rest while you're looking after DS? Hope he's done with the vomming Sad

NinjaChipmunk · 05/03/2012 08:12

No vomming for 2 hours but haven't tackled breakfast yet. He's too perky for it to be a bug I think. Think we'll take it easy today as have a busy week ahead. Hope everyone else is well?

PopcornMouseInBoots · 05/03/2012 09:55

Morning ladies :)

I've spent much of the weekend sobbing like a toddler because I'm so fecking tired it's unbelievable Blush

Lovely bump photos dream :)
