DH pointed out that my previously cured foul-mouthedness has returned in this pregnancy (24w with #4).

My reply....

I don't give a fuck.

friedfrog · 31/03/2012 17:24

Issimma - it sucks but cake will fill the void!

Soozy- jeez my mouth could make Roy chubby brown blush! I just hope the bump can't hear it!

yo yo yo big shout out to the old skool massif

< fistbumps fish and wino. looks round hopefully nonchalantly for jars>

and hello to all the others! Good to see you here. Here's hoping we all stick around. I am 6+1 and shitting it, but am doing a lot of anxiety eating to calm the nerves, which helps.

wellies I share your early cramp anxiety (planning on a scan later this week) AND your arse problems - I have no cat, but live in a very confined space with my mister and his patience for the pure evil I keep dropping into our midst is rapidly wearing thin.

anicecuppatea · 01/04/2012 15:01

Yo ladies, may i join you too? I popped in briefly some time ago to a previous gin-addled thread and your hilarious banter was v helpful during some nasty, nasty times. I'm 30 something and newly updiffed (6+2) for what i hope is 3rd time lucky (2 beastly mmcs in last 18 months, both times confirmed at 12 week scan.) To say i'm scared sh*tless for this bub is an understatement, but nowt i can do about it... what will be will be i guess. Doc has requested an early scan for me but no idea when yet. Bricking it!

jewelsandbinoculars · 02/04/2012 08:53

hiya cuppa good to see you again, and great news! Sounds like we're in much the same boat this time round. How are you doing for symptoms?

anicecuppatea · 02/04/2012 12:24

Hello my lovelies! [waves] and thanks jewels! Looks as if we are indeed in the same boat. Late November bub for you too? Calculator thingummy puts me at nov 23rd, but based on that magic 28 day cycle that no one seems to have... if it's anything like its mother it'll be late and come out grumbling about public transport or something. Symptom wise I feel worryingly little currently. Mildly crampy, v tearful, boobies a wee bit tender - nips especially, and a few random nautious moments any time of day. How about you?

friedfrog · 02/04/2012 13:18

Hey ladies (walks in with a multi pack of snickers)

So I may have had a slight emotional meltdown at the weekend when my OH mentioned I needed elasticated waist bands because of "all the chocolate you're eating" (sniff, snot, bites chocolate) I raged, stormed upstairs and lay crying for 20 mins. ven I knew I was being silly but.....I had passed the point of return so had to continue!!!

Please tell me you are all getting a touch of the crazies (starts to open second bar) ? And that it will go away!!!

On the upside 20 working days left!

Friedfrog x

Fishandjam · 02/04/2012 21:01

Yo dudettes,

Welcome to all the new faces! frog, hand over that cake or I'll cast a spell that will make it give you heartburn

My restless legs have been swapped for cramp. In both legs, fuck it. If it ain't one thing it's another! DS being a thorough-going little pain at the mo as well - running away from me in the garden centre car park just as the next-door car was reversing - I cried and shook all the way home. Baaaaad mother.

Jars and wino, as reasonably well progressed pregnant ladies, do you have any annoying bladder problems? I keep feeling desperate for a pee but when I go it's about a teaspoonful. I know the proto-fishette is low-lying but this really is doing my nut. Might just buy some large size Tena Lady and take the risk!

OP posts:
friedfrog · 02/04/2012 21:47

Hey fish

I will not surrender all the cake, but you can have a bite, but I am holding it!

Restless foofing legs! I tried burst bees mamma leg cream last night and its lush! As for pathetic pees......they just make me angry! I am 28 weeks and I think it's gonna get worse!

Why are we doing this!

Fishandjam · 03/04/2012 12:34

Ooh frog, I'm only a week behind you! When's your due date? I'm scheduled for 1 July but betcha it comes early.

Must buy more tonic water... seems to be the only thing which keeps the cramp at bay. Shame about the gin. (Strangely, I've been feeling like I could murder a good measure of single malt. Highland Park for preference. When the proto-fishette arrives it won't be champers I'm swigging on the ward, it will be Scotch.)

OP posts:
Fishandjam · 03/04/2012 12:34

Actually, when is everyone's due date? (To the extent that you know it already, or are willing to tempt fate and share it?)

OP posts:
Impatientwino · 03/04/2012 13:34

hi all!

Sorry been stuck with this pesky work business, yuck - I don't like it one little bit!

hello to all the new people! Nice to have some new people to mental with!

fish cramps sound shite, oddly enough my tip of the day yesterday that comes through on my phone was about how to help cramps.

they recommended the following

*stretching, slowly
*massage
*walking it off (fuckers)
*warm bath before bed
*plenty of liquid
*shot of whisky - ok just kidding but it would be nice wouldn't it :)

re the peeing, yes I seem to have plenty of teaspoon wees - annoying because the toilet is on a different floor to me at work!

re the son of fishy legging it - there was an AIBU the other day about putting dog leads on children... just a suggestion :)

jewels hope all is well my lovely.

In wino news I've put my back out so got osteopath tonight and it fecking kills but aside from that 'tiny' seems to be behaving himself at present

My due date is 27th July and today I handed in my letter to work saying I will be going on ML weeks commencing 11th june - the tube is going to be hellishly hot by then and I've decided I'm going to enjoy a few weeks with my nieces and tending to the house (aka sitting on my arse eating cake) - my SIl is due early June so she might appreciate some help with her toddler (see the aforementioned cake)

jars where the fuck are you? where ever it is I hope you are doing ok!

anicecuppatea · 03/04/2012 13:34

Gah! Anyone else completely unable to concentrate on anything other than what's going on (or not) inside their womb?! Really need an effing holiday from work. Good job I'm off from thurs for a week and a half eh? I strongly now suspect I'll be spending much of it not wanting to be further than two inches away from the nearest vomit receptacle as random bouts of nausea have morphed into all-day nausea. I guess that's what they call progress. I'd love to feel more preggo but, seriously?!

anicecuppatea · 03/04/2012 13:45

Re due dates, I'm going by the whole counting on 40 weeks thing since it's still early days and I've had no scans/got no measurements yet. So, 23 November for me at the mo.

jewelsandbinoculars · 03/04/2012 14:48

alright gang! By my own count only my EDD is 24 Nov...

Re symptoms cuppa my nips are def sore. I think sorer than during my dudpregnancy but I'm not sure I'm not making that up. And I think I felt a little bit more nauseous this morning than mornings previous, but really not much to go on. I feel quite normal, save for the straw-clutching and inability to concentrate on anything non womb-related!

My (cunning) plan is to take Thurs afternoon off and go waving my GP letter to try and get some sympathy EPU scannage before the easter break.

anicecuppatea · 03/04/2012 16:39

Yay for the sore nips jewels! Oddly my boobs don't feel as sore as they did in my two dud pregnancies. Both times they were agony from the get go but then literally got better overnight so must have been a sign. Don't remember my actual nips being sore like this before though so I'm clinging on to that as a positive. That and the fact they seem to be hideously massive. When will the rest of them grow and catch up so that balance between boob and nip is restored?! Good luck with the sympathy scannage. And thanks for the Easter eggs wino. How exciting re your ML! Quite right, tube far too hot and sweaty for preggies.

Fishandjam · 04/04/2012 11:57

wino, my cramps are really odd in that it isn't just the calf muscle that is affected, it's also the muscle which runs down the front of the shin and along the top of the foot. So if I flex my foot up to relieve the calf cramp, the shin/foot cramp gets worse, and vice versa. So my recommendations would be:

  • try slowly stretching, find it doesn't work, swear a lot
  • rub affected muscles gently, swear a lot
  • get out of bed and hobble around, ditto swearing
  • drink tonic water in the evening before bed
  • ensure Pregnacare is taken (magnesium and whatnot)
  • comfort self with fact that outside pregnancy, I don't get cramp, and I have only another 12 or so weeks to go.

I'm going on ML on 1 June. Can't bloody wait.

Fishandjam · 04/04/2012 13:03

In a moment of musing, I was wondering about rhyming slang for pregnancy stuff. Some of which already exist, but the rest we can make up!

e.g. farmer giles = piles (we know already)

But how about: rising damp = cramp, stones and sticks = Braxton Hicks, open and pour = pelvic floor, etc?

Any more ideas?

Passmethecrisps · 05/04/2012 10:03

Hello all,

I am a complete newcomer so I have come armed with a six-pack of Becks Blue, ginger beer and a multi-pack of hula hoops.

I am 9 weeks today and have been lurking about on other sites without feeling the urge to join in. Then I found this thread and felt immediately at home.

I am on my phone so replying to others in posts is hard but I will try.

So far I have had:
All day nausea
Crushing tiredness
Back-ache
Leg cramps
Tearfulness (I hate this one most)
The need to pee every 20 minutes - no joke

As a fan of UK pub culture and Saturday afternoon drinking I was delighted to discover Becks Blue and Bavaria. Sadly I can no longer stomach it so am back on the ginger beer. I don't fancy white wine at all but husband's red last night smelled pretty damned good.

I would like to say that I look and feel better for having abandoned my hidden binge drinking but sadly not. I am horribly spotty and wake up most mornings feeling hungover.

So, having given that cheerful introduction, I now fully expect to get told to piss off.

Passmethecrisps · 05/04/2012 20:40

Hi DonnaDoon!

Thanks for the welcome - I hope I didn't clear the room!

I had no idea pregnancy would be so glamorous. I am definitely more greasy than glowing.
