Love that thread and Fliss's post especially!

I get a private room for afterwards but then we are paying a fortune to the insurance company for the privilege. I'm a terrible sleeper at the best of times so I think if I was going on a ward I'd be wanting to go home ASAP instead.

Boomerwang · 05/03/2012 06:00

Hello. I'd like to add myself to the list, if I may.

I'm due on 18th April, and don't know the gender of my child (although I'm positive it will be a girl). I am 32.

Everything is going great so far, although I am getting pains in my groin when I stand up after sitting for a while, and after a few minutes of walking I feel like I'm dragging a bag of cement around on my belly.

Boomerwang · 05/03/2012 06:01

Also it will be my first child, and I am a Brit living in Sweden :D

confuzed90 · 05/03/2012 08:47

Rimay2011 maybe it could be something you've ate or a bit of an upset tummy? You got back ache or belly pains or anything?

riamay2011 · 05/03/2012 08:54

My back is a bit sore but has been for about a week!

digitalgirl · 05/03/2012 09:05

ria could be the start of something! Only time will tell! If you start getting headaches then call your mw to get your bp checked.

Flisspaps · 05/03/2012 10:07

riamay I've barely been off the loo this morning, feel really out of sorts (really in edge and like I need a bloody good sob) and have had backache and lots of BH this morning.

I've never hoped for a bug before, but today is a first! Early babies are unusual for my family (unheard of in fact) so its unlikely mine is anything other than a dicky tum! I shall hope yours is too, rather than
the beginning of a March arrival Grin

35+5 today here. How's everyone else doing? There's got to be some maternity leave looming soon for some of you? Grin

spannermary · 05/03/2012 11:40

HollyPockett I've just forwarded that thread to DH - hope he reads it!! :)

HollyPockett · 05/03/2012 14:20

How weird, I couldn't get off the toilet all day yesterday either! I out it down to the Dominoes pizza that I knew I shouldn't have eaten on Saturday night!

My mat leave starts on 28th March, 17.5 working days and counting!

HollyPockett · 05/03/2012 14:26

out should be put Blush

Bunsouttheoven · 05/03/2012 14:41

I had day of jumping on & off the loo the other day too. Also made me think whether it was the start of something.....but no.

Flisspaps · 05/03/2012 15:44

All is still well here. Seems it was nothing that a good go at the housework this morning didn't fix Hmm How are you riamay?

digitalgirl · 05/03/2012 16:01

Am 34 weeks today! Slightly amazed I am this far along, really doesn't seem like there's much time left. Another 6.5 working days left for me. Half day tomorrow because I have my 34 week check at the hospital.

Anyone remember if they take bloods at this appointment? Wondered if they might because of my puffy hands and feet.

For all those nesting - I seem to do that every weekend. I can't just 'be' in the house without cleaning/clearing/shifting something. Apart from the commute, working is almost easier for me because I'm not scrubbing, spritzing, washing.

digitalgirl You should be offered the chance to have blood taken at 34 or 36 weeks if you want to :)

Bananna1 · 05/03/2012 16:52

My nesting all went pear-shaped today. Had this bee in my bonnet that I MUST hoover all of downstairs, upstairs and the stairs. Half an hour after being on my hands and knees sweeping the stairs, our ceiling collapsed (we're having a loft conversion and the rain yesterday made the ceiling waterlogged and heavy) right over the stairs, raining dust, debris, masonry and plaster. I was so nearly covered in the stuff, it made me so shocked to think what would have happened had I been at the top of the stairs when it collapsed! Luckily I had just finished, so all I had to mourn were my beautiful, clean carpets, which are now dust-ridden and marked :-(
What news Riamay?!

marshmallowpies · 05/03/2012 17:05

Just found out today that a friend of DH's kids have just come down with chicken pox. DH saw this friend for a drink on Tuesday and the kids were confirmed as fully poxed up by the weekend.

Am not too worried as I've had CP myself and any infection would have to have gone via 2 other people (DH and his friend) before it got to me...but should I be telling my midwife about this? Not meant to be seeing her for a couple of weeks anyway so don't really have the opportunity...

Bearcrumble · 05/03/2012 17:17

Bananna What a nightmare. I'd cry - will the builders take care of it as it was their fault?

Welcome, dachs - so sorry for your loss - and other new posters.

Riamay Hope you are ok - keep us updated.

Marshmallowpies I think as long as you've had it you don't need to worry.

I saw my consultant today - an hour later than the appt time of 1pm so I was starving and stuffed my face with crisps from the hospital vending machine afterwards. All looks well and I have my caesarian booked for Thurs the 5th April. Eeek!

newmummyvicky · 05/03/2012 19:08

Riamary it does sound like something! aches and loose bowels are a sign of baby coming soon!

Ive been getting belly pains for the last few hours quite low down in the belly. Baby also feels so heavy when i walk around. Also he/she is hurting a little bit when they move side to side! Not sure if these are brax hicks??????
being a first timer!
Hubby made me tea tonight, im going have a bath a hopefully they will ease off and ill feel better!

Flisspaps · 05/03/2012 21:57

Bananna Glad you're OK - what a nightmare!

Bearcrumble How exciting to have the date set :)

marshmallow I'd not be too worried to be honest. I wonder how many people you come into contact daily (in the shops etc) who have been in contact with someone who has something that you know nothing about. If you'd been in direct contact then I'd be a bit less blase, especially if you'd not had it yourself but chances are you'll be fine. If you are worried, you can always phone the MW just to put your mind at rest.

newmummyvicky They sound like BH. Babies do tend to be heavy this late on, almost as if they'll just fall out! If they're actual contractions you'll find that they probably become regular (actual contractions don't become regular for everyone though) and much less manageable. I didn't have any last time round, but this time I've known that I've been getting them, bloody uncomfortable but not painful.

riamay2011 · 05/03/2012 22:31

Hey ladies still feeling strange and boobs are sore now. Midwife said the same as u guys....body is starting up. Just got to wait. Also have a increase in v.discharge tonight?.. Normal?.

Feeling very dehydrated too but i suppose thats the diarrhea. Babys movements are still reduced but are defo still there. Very very very low now tho....

So that my update :) does anyone wanna hazard a guess on when bubba will make an apperance? Dh thinks 1 week!
Xx

Boomerwang · 06/03/2012 02:53

Today for the first time ever, and in public, I did the thing where you support your lower back with your hands and lean back to try to correct the weight balance. Your bump sticks right out so there can be no doubt that I am not just fat, I am, in fact, pregnant... and my back is killing me :(

If I'm out for a while on my feet they start to ache (no swelling yet though) and I feel like I've been riding a horse for a week straight whenever I get up from my chair. I grunt like a pig.

I guess you could say I'm starting to really feel it's coming soon now!
