That's great though Holly! You must be in great shape with a v toned tum, I bet you'll be one of those tummy mums who's in her normal clothes a week after delivering Envy plus you'll prob avoid stretch marks if you don't balloon (unlike me). Has the midwife given you any idea how your bump compares? The Diva is your first isn't it?
Midwife is relentlessly smiley and cheerful while saying the least cheerful things and has a "but that's just the way it is and all normal so suck it up" attitude as I worry away Hmm
How is your nursery going? Ours wasn't finished until a few months after DD1 was born as we had her in our room so I wouldn't worry too much, although the mess is a pain and it jars with your nesting instinct!
After two nights this week of some seriously painful contractions, DH has now got the baby clothes out of the loft and I've packed my hospital bags, so im a bit more relaxed :) Today I'm fending off that friend who wants to paint my bump, if it gets awkward I'll prob end up hormonally crying on her so hopefully my fedupness will sort that out if nothing else!

Tinwe · 23/03/2012 08:20

DIGI thanks for the glimmer of hope, re delivering soon :) my self decided due date is Tuesday (based on Dd1 coming similarly early)
How did you get cat piss on the car seat, did I miss something?! Confused
Wow, sounds like you're doing v well despite SPD, don't overdo it tho, I did that yesterday and regretted it...
uni glad your scare worked out ok, much better to be checked and put your mind at rest. Maybe your baby will be similarly laid back and you can relax lots, when it arrives? Grin
hayley Try not to worry re contractions, in fact enjoy it! I had no Braxton Hicks, nothing at all last time, until the Big Bang (when my waters went and DD arrived under 4 hours later)

Bunsouttheoven · 23/03/2012 10:48

tinwe I too get the comments 'you must be due now, good grief, more than 3 weeks left!!'HmmHmm

I went for another sizing scan yesterday, even the sonographer started out by saying how inaccurate it is at this late stage. How rather pointless a trip it was apart from going to waitrose & buying banoffee pie to scoffGrin

newmummyvicky · 23/03/2012 11:54

Im abit late saying- many congratulation to Latristesse Thanks
Thats 3 little girls, we now have in our group! my friend had a little girl, she said there seemed to be loads at the hospital!

Still wonder what my lucky bump is gonna be? im thinking a boy to even out the numbers. lol

Ive been having low down pain in the bladder area the last few days, really wish they would make an apearence this wk end........
I have 40wk midwife appointment on monday, then will start to be booked in for a sweep the week after, then looking at induction! i really hope it doesnt come to that, but i think this little one is way toooooo comfy in there!

Just reading about the vistors- I would tell people staying over, its a bit to stressfull right now and u dont really have room for them. I have had to cancelled my parents in-law for their annnul visit from spain in april. They are now staying at brother in laws, as we have freshly done nursary. You should think about yourselfs at this time of change, hopefully people will understand!!!!!!!!!
x x

spannermary · 23/03/2012 12:53

Buns...any trip is worth it for Waitrose banoffee pie...

Not that I'm drooling or anything!

Hope all is well with everyone today. We didn't end up rehearsing our pain management technques yesterday but have them pencilled in for after lunch today. It's so difficult to get motivated to do anything at the moment (other than cleaning out cupboards which I'm rather good at!)

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

notso · 23/03/2012 13:12

Thanks all for Pox sympathy, my spotty boy is a bit perkier today thankfully.

Tinwe sorry you are having a difficult time.
BunsI am getting loads of
"What, you'll never last another 5 weeks" comments.
It makes me laugh because I am loads smaller than I was with DS1 and DS2. I got really pissed off with it last time, it all came to a head when a horrible woman in the corner shop said
"Bloody hell you're 'effin massive"
and I replied "Yeah well your really old!"

newmummyvicky I am very excited to find out if this one is a boy or a girl, I think everyone wants me to have a girl, but I can't help thinking it's a boy.
I keep doing stupid "kick now if you are a boy" type things Grin.
I really don't mind whatever, we have loads of boy stuff but no boys name, and we have loads of girls names but no girl stuff.

notso · 23/03/2012 13:24

Posted too soon!

spannermary Will you please come and sort out my cupboards!! I had a really good few weeks decluttering but have lost momentum now.

I am really uncomfortable at the moment, so pleased the head is down but the pressure is horrible, feels like he or she is just going to drop out sometimes.
TMI but feeling really damp and dischargey, so am a bit of a knicker checker/sniffer at the moment. Don't think it's anything significant though.
I want the baby to come now to end the waddling and discomfort but then I am not prepared in the house or mentally to have a newborn so am wanting to hang on as long as possible.

This is the first pregnancy out of four where I haven't been using any birth preparation remedies or methods.

spannermary · 23/03/2012 13:32

Haha - notso - it's most unlike me, but I'm actually quite enjoying it.

WRT the rest of your comments...

uncomfortable? check.
head down? check.
feels like he's about to drop? check.
knicker sniffing? check.
waddling and discomfort? check.
mentally unprepared? double check!

We'll get through it together!

Just found out today that baby is transverse & going back to hospital to try and get her to turn on Monday (when I will be 36 + 5).

So very glad I did put my friend off from staying overnight now: am looking forward to having visitors during the day & stuff to do as a distraction, but will still want plenty of rest come Sunday, not clearing up after an overnight guest!

Hope you all get some sunshine & rest this weekend...we all deserve it!

Bananna1 · 23/03/2012 13:59

I am happy to say I now have a stress-free weekend as friend with the potentially chicken poxed son decided to cancel before I had to tell her! So DH and I will have an early cinema trip tonight, then NOTHING all weekend, apart from a bedroom guy tomorrow to discuss fitted wardrobes. I am obsessed with having a new clutter-free bedroom in the loft. I think it's after having 3 kid's worth of junk for 16 years, I just want MINIMAL!

Notso and Spanner - am so glad it's not just me knicker sniffing! Being my 4th pregnancy I think my pelvic floor has just completely given up! And I am so thirsty that I just have to drink water constantly, which doesn't help in the dampness department! I keep panicking though that my waters are leaking!

I really wonder what my no. 4 is. Having 3 girls already, I just assume it's a boy - but what if it isn't! We now have a girl's name but am totally unprepared if it is a boy!

Good luck for the turning on Monday Marshmallowpies. Sunday you can just stay on all fours all day to try and encourage it, instead of clearing up!!!!

notso · 23/03/2012 14:14

I am with you on the pelvic floor Bananna1 I don't think mine has had chance to recover from DC3 properly.

Marshmallowpies Get on the floor with your bum in the air and lie on your left side. You could threaten the old Moxibustion sticks as well, thats what worked for Ped!

dreamc1 · 23/03/2012 14:18

Just thought I'd update. I seem to be having contractions in the evenings for an half hr or so. Migraines hve kicked up a notch so hormones are on the move :-) The contractions seem to be in my lower back/bum very sharp pains which take my breath away, only last 5 seconds or so. Also sharp pains in cervix; mw said munchkin has engaged - which has made the spd sooo much better!

HollyPockett · 23/03/2012 14:30

Tinwe I would love to say that I had a nice flat tummy before I was pregnant but alas, I did not! The fact is that I think I looked pregnant before I was so I didn't really look much different until I got to about 5 months! I'm measuring a cm below the week guideline - so I'm 36 weeks and measuring 35. The Diva is my first and I have to say, that it's quite an unfair nickname - I've had a breeze of a pregnancy really not that you'd know it with all my moaning

The nursery is 99% there - just need to put the wardrobe together! I've started to wash her clothes too, and unpacking everything last night I have to say that I think I might have gone over the top bought too much Blush

I don't blame you for fending off your friend and the bump painting. I don't know if I could handle that.

notso I'm right there with you on the discharge/damp knicker thing. Have been for about a month now but mentioned it to MW and my urine tests are fine and I'm not itchy or uncomfortable so I'm putting it down to one of those pregnancy things!

UniPsychle · 23/03/2012 19:35

Thank goodness it's Friday and and DP is on hand to help wrangle DS1 for a few days, I'm finding it totally exhausting. Sympathy to those in discomfort, but it does make me feel better that I'm not alone. I feel like I want to lay an egg for much of the time!

Tinwe I am hoping that quieter in-the-womb child = more relaxed baby. I'm also hopeful about sleep as he's livelier by day than night; just the opposite of DS1 who was (and still is) constantly on the go and was a shocking sleeper.

Well done to banana and marshmallow for putting off the visitors, it'd be the last thing I'd fancy. Which reminds me, Beyond are you going to be bridesmaid soon - is it this w/e? If so, good luck and hope there's not too much standing around for you.

newmummyvicky · 23/03/2012 20:09

Thats good Banana and marshmallow for putting them people staying, we all need little stress as possiable right now.

Ive been getting a little wetter down there too, i thought today it was actualy my waters leaking. lol
But ill probally start of with contraction, both my mum and sister had to have there waters broken in hospital.

Good luck Dreams if u have started
I wonder if we will get any new babies this weekend???????

balkanscot · 24/03/2012 09:41

Results for GD came back negative, even my blood pressure seems to be in the 120/75 zone. And the baby's head is engaged (that's what that sharp pain down below was from 1:30 am until 2:00 am on Thursday morning). My bump has dropped quite a bit.

DH increasingly getting on my nerves - he seems to have brought me a cold from his conference and when I dared to complain he said that I was just thinking of myself and being very selfish. WTF??? Just a minor inconvenience of being 36+4 pregnant and really not fancying a 5th cold in as many months (giving birth while having a cold, can't even begin to imagine).

Must pack the hospital bag over the weekend, must order the Moses basket (bedding, mattress et al.), tidy up the spare room so my mum has got somewhere to put down her bags when she arrives in 3 weeks' time, must assemble the pram to practice folding it down/putting it back up again... Will definitely get into the habit of practising yoga again after giving birth.

And where is this super warm and sunny Spring day today???? Edinburgh seems to be enveloped in haar (typical).

Calm and stress free weekend to everyone! Brew

spannermary · 24/03/2012 10:49

Great news about the GD, balkan - and the blood pressure. Grr to DH!

As for the weather...it's a pea-souper here in Yorkshire, with no hint of sunshine. So I am sat under a blanket with the heating on.

Feeling a little under the weather today...quite shaky and feeling a little sick and cold. Nothing major, I don't think, but I'll be taking it easy today.

38 weeks tomorrow!

JambalayaCodfishPie · 24/03/2012 12:03

Hello ladies!

Beautiful day here in the North West! Three loads of washing done and dried on the line already - plus a walk to the library without our coats Grin

DEFINATELY beer garden weather! Boooo.

Am 36wks now, and baby is showing no signs of arriving early, in fact I reckon I will be pushing into May, which will pee me off as its wasted maternity leave! Ah well!

Hope all is well, sorry the weather isn't quite up to scratch for some of you! Smile

OP posts:
digitalgirl · 24/03/2012 15:15

jambalaya I love getting the washing out on sunny days!

I've been sat out in the garden all day doing nothing, except topping up my vitamin d. Sun has left the patio now (east facing garden), so I'm in the living room lying on the sundrenched sofa. Think I might have a snooze Smile.

HollyPockett · 24/03/2012 18:03

Three loads of washing done here too!! The chest of drawers and wardrobe in the Diva's room are up and ready for filling! Never been so happy to put washing away ;)

I've spent the afternoon in a beer garden soaking up the sun and orange juice :)

Bananna1 · 24/03/2012 18:47

Soaking up the beautiful sunshine here on the south coast and eating lots of yummy Italian ice cream distracted us from our task of packing the hospital bag today. Ooops! Oh well, there is always tomorrow!

And my friend text this morning to say her son came out in chicken pox this morning, so we made the right decision cancelling her visit. Even if he wasn't infectious to me, it would all have been a bit stressful.

Happy Saturday, and hope tomorrow is as sunny as today :)

Uglymush · 24/03/2012 19:22

Well waters broke this morning, day before I was due to have the 'social' inducement :) Downside, I have felt like I have wet myself all day and still no contractions. Spent an hour in hospital this afternoon. Have to go back tomorrow afternoon if not before. Very nervous.

My mum has finally shown how excited she is, which is great. Could be a long night.

spannermary · 24/03/2012 19:26

Uglymush - that's so exciting! Another baby on the way! All the best and check in with us when you get the chance...

Lovely to hear your mum is getting excited...so are we!

:)

Bearcrumble · 24/03/2012 20:08

Wooo, Uglymush - good luck! Don't let the nerves get to you - it's natural but everything is going to be ok.

I am properly shattered today - DS has chosen this week to try out not napping. He's just turned 2. Tuesday he surprised me and fell asleep in his pushchair just after 12.30, but every other day it's been either no nap or a really late one that has buggered up bedtime. The last two days - no nap at all.

I had a friend visit this morning and cooked lunch for 3 adults and 3 children (just roast potatoes and chicken pieces and steamed veg and tomato salad) then walked to/round park with friend and her 2 DCs then came back for half an hour then had to go out again to a 2nd birthday party (again on foot) and when I came back DH said it was my turn to do bathtime. I told him it bloody well wasn't. He's not normally so thoughtlesss, I was really pissed off.
