So quick update - the cramps are slowly getting easier. I'm waiting for the blood test results from this morning to check hcg levels are rising properly. I managed to get an emergency gp appt this afternoon, and she was very reassuring. She seems to think I've been overdoing it recently (no surprise!) and need to start relaxing. She also said to make sure I get a 6 week scan. I don't quite feel we're out of the woods just yet, but getting there. Smile

GTbaby · 28/02/2012 19:36

thought i would do a details update, hope its all right.

cramps are getting lighter, however boobs are still painful.
start using bio oil to save me from stretch marks... i have loads from growing up/ general weight gain, but really hope i don't get any more.

dreading the morning sickness kicking in :( going to be very difficult at work as i am a secondary school teacher.

Hope everyone is ok. Feeling rubbish today with a really sore throat and horrible cough! :( All ok apart from that though!!

LittleLolly · 28/02/2012 19:58

My cramps seem to have gone today but my boobs are so sensitive, even walking hurts!! And felt really sick this morning, the taste of toothpaste in my mouth was hideous!

I seem to have a problem with keeping a secret and have told lots of people at work... But I'm a nurse so I'm just telling myself that they need to know for safety reasons haha!!

I'm going on holiday next week so a bit anxious about flying (8 hour flight) and if it will affect the little embryo... Done some googling which says its safe so trying not to worry.

Welcome to all the new ladies... Hope we all sail through our pregnancies and have beautiful babies at in November!

howiwonder · 28/02/2012 21:07

ha ha LittleLolly I am the same with telling people (although my DH doesnt know I have Blush) I'm a teacher so am also justifying for health and safety reasons?!

Lots of symptoms going on with you all it seems - not much for me yet. General tiredness and maybe little bit of nausea but not sure if I'm imagining it. I remember being the same with DS though.

Made midwife appt today - exciting!!

TheDetective · 28/02/2012 21:46

Working with other midwives mean my pregnancy has been pretty much outed. I don't think the amount of food I have been eating, and the shattered look about me have hidden it very well. Everyone keeps saying 'you're not pregnant are you' cue me with bright red face denying it. They aren't buying it. I can't flippin' lie.

Technically, I'm not even due my period if I was 28 days regularly. I've been 26 days for a few months, and got my BFP on CD 22!! 10 days after ovulation!

I'm 2 weeks today :p Although I'm 4 weeks as I know my bambino was conceived on valentines day!

Another shattered day, scoffing myself silly. Have had a banging headache, as the GP's have been utter arseholes. I've sorted matters now, but it involved lots of hassle for me! The midwife is calling me tomorrow, to book an appointment directly with me. Stupid GP's, thinking they can make me go and see them.

I win!

Tiago · 28/02/2012 22:37

Hi all. I got my BFP today and (if I take the average of the various due date calculators) am due on 5 November :) . I'm going to lurk for a while if you don't mind - I had a MC previously and so can't let myself get too excited yet.

Stuntnun · 29/02/2012 06:15

Hi Tiago, I know how you feel. I had a MMC in December so I'm going for "quietly pleased" and just hoping this little bean makes it. I think the best thing to do is just try not to worry too much about it.

Cacacaz · 29/02/2012 10:04

I'm joining you lovely ladiesGrin

I did a test yesterday am and it was a bfp, I am very apprehensive as had a mc in October last year.

I'm having to go to the doctors later as one of the children I look after has norovirus (slapped cheek)

This was our first month ttc since mc, edd is 4th of November!

horseylady · 29/02/2012 14:55

Me!!!!! 2 years ttc!!!! Thought I was :) really happy :) just got no idea what I should be doing in terms of exercise!!! I normally do loads!! But don't know if I need to stop going to my circuits class? Guess if in doubt dont but I love it!! And it keeps me so fit!! Edd 4/11 no 1 for me!!! Quite nervous about all the changes but being practical and taking each day at a time so far!!

Onamission28 · 29/02/2012 15:10

Afternoon ladies,

I was a lurker on MN but decided to register and join this group as I am totally clueless and don't know what I'm doing and thought I could pick up some tips as from you guys.

Brief history:

I'm 28, from London, first "pregnancy", husband and I had been 'trying' for a while but if Im honest really lazy trying. Having sex haphazardly without protection and hoping to get lucky. I felt that this month is the only one where we really properly bothered, did our research, taking basal temps and used clearblue opk's and lo and behold yesterday got a bfp at 8dpo.

Shocked and stunned, still doesn't feel real.

Went to the GP yesterday and i was in and out within minutes! They didn't do their own tests and really wish they had as I could have done with some reassurance. I feel like I need a doctor to tell me I'm pregnant to make it official and for it to sink in. Came home, did some googling and it seems like this is the norm nowadays.

Anyway really nervous and trying to not get too excited incase it doesn't stick. Wish you all a happy and healthy 9 months.

Onamission28 · 29/02/2012 15:12

Oh and using online calculators (gp didn't bother telling me) I think I'm sue 12th November 2012! Hard to tell for sure as my cycles have varied in length.

cherryjam · 29/02/2012 16:18

Congratulations recent additions!

Definitely agree it doesn't seem real - is anyone thinking about getting an early scan? Whilst I know the risks are always there so to speak, am not sure I could wait til 12 weeks to be told bad news.

From which week is it possible to detect a heartbeat? Is it 7 weeks?

Cacacaz · 29/02/2012 17:01

I think I will have an early scan Cherryjam, I was told that I could request one because of my previous mc. I have made my booking in appointment with the midwife, although I do have to wait 2 weeks for it!

horseylady · 29/02/2012 17:59

Im booked in to see midwife 4 weeks today. How my dr said they do things. Assumed shed listen to heartbeat if all ok up to then. Guessed scan will be 12 to 14 weeks? Not too worried about early one would prefer to see something I guess? still can't believe it?!

Tiago · 29/02/2012 17:59

I'm going to have an early scan. Horseylady you can keep doing whatever exercise you already do - they just say not to start and new high impact sports, that double leg lifts are never advised, and that you should just keep an eye on yourself and stop if you have problems.

Tiago · 29/02/2012 18:02

onamission I'm 28 too. I've now done 4 pregnancy tests so I'm pretty sure for myself ( though I do also have a picture of the result on my phone for reassurance) :)

horseylady · 29/02/2012 18:12

What are double leg lifts? Or similar? Lol ok about excerise will mention it to trainer! Friends will ask if I dont go!!

Little9 · 29/02/2012 19:52

I am having an early scan as had a mmc at 12 week scan in Oct last year. Was horrible finding out that way as still had sore boobs, etc but it had not got past 7 weeks. Told my boss today just in case anything goes wrong - think it shocked him a bit!! Bless him. Having day off tomorrow as cold is even worse today! I'm still doing my pilates classes and running around an agility course with the doggies.

TheDetective · 29/02/2012 20:38

I have my first midwife appointment next wednesday. I can't wait!

I'm still eating for 15 bodybuilders, and sleeping like a corpse.

Oh the joys! I know I haven't got long til the sickness starts...making the most I guess!!

I did another test today, and its stronger than ever! Comes up quicker too! Excellent! Oh, and yesterday I did a clear blue digital, and it has changed from the 25th from 1-2 weeks to 2-3 weeks in just 3 days! Woohooo!

Me and DP are just so excited, and we would really love to share it with our parents, but we both know our respective parents are not going to be happy. It is the only blight in what should be a lovely time! Anyone else got strange parents like ours?!

ValiumQueen · 29/02/2012 21:42

Gulp! Hello, I will be 43 in April, and have DD1 (5) and DD2 (22 months) and am due DC3 on 5th November.
To say I am a bit shocked is putting it mildly.
I will not add myself to the list just yet.....

horseylady · 29/02/2012 22:04

Detective I've told my parents sister and nan but they are sworn to secrecy! I've told dh to tell his mum as she's not got long left to live and while she may not fully comprehend she will have been told. He doesn't want to tell his dad as 'it will be another stress for him' and so will not tell his sister either. My parents thrilled!! Mother very very excited!!

Onamission28 · 01/03/2012 00:00

I haven't told MIL, she's like a woman with an in built tannoy. DH agrees she can't be told until a few more weeks down the line. I feel bad but last year I missed a period and had dear old aunties asking me about my "good news" for weeks! So if anything goes wrong I don't want sympathy/pity and would just like to get on a deal with it on my own way.

I am telling my parents next weekend when they're back from their extended holiday. Haven't seen them in months and so it'll be a nice pressie to come back to. I know they'll be thrilled. First grandchild. Can't wait!

TIAGO Hello age buddy!

GTbaby · 01/03/2012 06:10

What on earth am I doing up so early ! Can't sleep Sad really hope this isn't a side effect of pregnancy.

Now this might sound a bit pathetic. I tested positive on Saturday. And Sunday went to see my mum for my regular tea n catch up. I kept telling myself "tell her say it" but couldn't get the words out. I was so nervous! I left like a naughty teenager admitting I'd had sex! Lol. (I'm married, so really she must know already!)
In the end I decided to wait a few week before telling her so took the pressure off myself.

I'm hungry. Can hunger wake u up? I really hope this early morning posting doesn't become a habit. Wink

ValiumQueen · 01/03/2012 07:28

Being up this early is a side effect of Parenthood! My day starts at 5am
