TheDetective · 09/03/2012 20:34

Today I am exhausted! But I am blaming the three 10 year olds I have bouncing around upstairs! It has been a busy and long day, and all I want is to crawl to bed - and there is no chance of that!!

I have loads of cramps today, but I know its normal, so I am trying to ignore them. Would really like a bath, but that isn't gonna happen! This pregnancy sure feels different from last time! Here is hoping (fingers crossed) that the hyperemesis stays at bay! Another week and i'll be past my danger point!

Excuse me while I just go and strangle some children (do I really want to do all this again?!!!)

Bimbledorf · 09/03/2012 21:19

Thanks OMGBFP and izzybizzy I will defintiely check it out. I never temped with my last 2 pregnancies - perhaps it's completely normal for me!

DH21 I "quit" smoking when pregnant with son but started again when I stopped breastfeeding him at 9 months as husband was still smoking so my tempatation gave in. As soon as I was pregnant with no2 I gave up immediately and have never, ever had a drag since - the idea actually completely repulses me now - so it is definitely possible to get over it once and for all! Good luck!

OMGBFP · 09/03/2012 21:27

Had a walk to the supermarket and was getting a lot of cramping/twinging on the left side. Hopefully it's only as I've not been up off the sofa all week!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/03/2012 21:29

Thanks bimble that's what I'm hoping. I don't think dh will give up ever yet but I've got through a whole day already so I think I'll be ok :)

jencd · 09/03/2012 21:45

Good luck DP21, don't go all Stacy Solomon on us! :)

OMGBFP · 09/03/2012 22:02

you can do it Dh21 :) everytime you want one, go and do something with your hands, just MN all the while? Grin

TheDetective · 09/03/2012 22:47

I just told my Dad the news as he rang to say happy birthday to DS. He rarely rings, so thought I'd just let him know. His reply was 'who is the father'.

FAFS. My parents suit each other. Shame they are divorced.

GRRRRRRR.

OMGBFP · 09/03/2012 23:00

nice reaction!

A friend of mine once went to her booking in for her 4th baby at 25yo and was sneeringly asked if they all had the same father (they were but even so sheesh! the way it was asked!)

booboomonster · 09/03/2012 23:13

hello can I join? I'm amazed how long ago some of you have had BFPs! I've only just got mine, after 10 days of BFNs so I'm a little nervous, although my mother (!) reminded me that the same happened last time, and I had completely forgotten (and the result is now a terrorising 22 month old who currently has self inflicted nail varnished cheeks). Anyway, I am a worrier, so forgive me if I just lurk for a bit. Due date should be 5 Nov. I have 2 DDs and a SDD. Congratulations everyone! Smile

booboomonster · 09/03/2012 23:19

Christ am just reading your baby news responses - I hope your Dad was joking Thedetective?

DH21 - hello again! When I quit smoking, some years ago now, I found something on a website that gave a day to day update on how all the crap was getting out of my body, I found it quite helpful. There is a similar one here:
whyquit.com/whyquit/a_benefits_time_table.html
good luck!

TheDetective · 09/03/2012 23:30

He probably wasn't booboo I have strange parents. Even though I've been with DP 2 1/2 years. You see, what he was probably hoping for is that I would say 'after a whirlwind romance with a doctor from work, he is now signed his very expensive property over to me, and agreed to marry me and give me lots of expensive gifts for the rest of my life. And now I am pregnant with his child, he can't get away easily'.

I know how my Dads mind works. He is money money money.

Poor DP doesn't stand a chance, he works in a supermarket and I earn 3 times what he does. And after this baby he will earn even less as he will be doing less hours!!

Ah bollocks to it. We're happy as pigs in muck :)

TitsalinaBumSquash · 09/03/2012 23:32

I went to the cinema to see John Carter in 3D and promptly fell asleep, Dp woke me up towards the end because I was snoring! Blush

I feel really sicky now, and still exhausted! I'm meant to be in London tomorrow night for my Birthday, let's hope I can manage the train in the morning! Confused

TheDetective · 09/03/2012 23:36

Sorry, I forgot to say congratulations Booboo!!!

booboomonster · 10/03/2012 00:40

Ha ha thedetective! Well I suppose at least you know where he's coming from...
Thanks for the congrats!

I am having probs sleeping, despite feeling v tired. Frustrating!

Happy Birthday Titsalina!

Iheartpasties · 10/03/2012 03:17

Hi,

If I am lying down in bed, on my back, and I sneeze, OMG it hurts! It sort of pulls and hurts down where the baby is growing. I remember this so well from last time. And the funny thing is that when I was about a week pregnant I got this feeling/pain and thought to myself 'haha I must be pregnant' but I really did not belive it at all, but I am!! wierd!

I wonder if this a similar thing to the people who are feeling cramping/twinging? Does it coincide with a sneeze? I'm sure its all the bedding in that the little baby is doing :)

I can't wait to book in with the mdiwife but I have to wait un til 14 weeks!

I have picked out the pram I want and have found it at a good price on eBay so we feel happy about that. I need a double pram. Also I have seen some good cots/toddle beds on eBay so we will go with whatever works out cheapest. ie some cots convert into toddler beds, so we'll buy which ever is going for a good price on eBay and then buy brand new matresses.

yippe its exciting to do some virtual window shopping on eBay!While i was looking at prams and cots, DH was looking at cars! yey. W

We dont have a car ATM so it'll be exciting to get one. It'll be bought with a loan though, but never mind. I can't cope with two LO's on a bus, so I'll be glad of a car.

Tiago · 10/03/2012 07:21

pasties I have to tense my stomach muscles every time I sneeze or blow my nose to avoid the pulling sensation which is most uncomfortable (understatement alert).

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/03/2012 07:28

Thanks for the support ladies, I had a really low point yesterday but since then it's actually not been too bad.

I get the painful twinges in bed if I turn over suddenly, I remember that from last time too.

Dh doesn't want to tell his dad til 12 weeks just to make sure it's all ok. Such a long time to keep it a secret!

Also im going to Spain at the beginning of July, works out I'll be around 20 weeks so really hoping it doesn't clash with my second scan.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 10/03/2012 09:24

I have the worst burning pain across both my thighs, is this something I should be concerned by? Confused

Tiago · 10/03/2012 10:43

Is it like cramp in your thigh muscles - could just be your salt levels being a bot messed up

pipsicles · 10/03/2012 13:09

Congratulations and welcome BooBoo!

Good luck with the giving up smoking DH - I've never been through it myself, but it must be so hard, although I would imagine that a little baby is probably one of the best incentives going?!

I've just got over a 24hr vomiting and diarrehea bug - it was HORRIBLE! DH has it now, and we have everything crossed and touching every bit of wood that DS doesn't get it too! At least I'm better now if he does - I could not have coped with it yesterday that's for sure! The really worrying thing for me was yesterday afternoon and evening when my lower back was aching so badly and only that morning I'd read that that can be a first sign of miscarriage Shock I tried to convince myself that it was because I was ill, so had a bath and an early night and am breathing a MASSIVE sigh of relief that I've woken up and found everything to be 'normal'.

IHP you sound very organised picking out your stuff already! I can't quite bring myself to start thinking about it yet! We've finally managed to sell our little flat (it was on the market before DS was born!) and have nearly exchanged contracts, but took a slightly impulsive decision to put down a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit on a rental that I saw (without DH!) on Wednesday! There's no reason why the sale should fall through, but we're on tenterhooks at the moment until we know for sure! Once we're over that hurdle, we have to pack up and be out of here by 23rd March and are moving into DH's ex-boss's house (sounds complicated, but isn't - honest!) until 1st June, when our new place will be available! So not quite as much to do as you Tomato, but it's going to be fun and games, that's for sure!
